Hiya everyone! Tonight's visit to the SL17B Shop and Hop event brings us to the Sugarplum sim, one of 10 sims packed with talented designers offering discounted selections and of course, gifts to help celebrate SL's 17th birthday :) If you are a shopaholic who enjoys free treats, this is an ideal place to visit even if it is a bit crowded. The event is open until July 12th, so almost two weeks to go which is plenty of time to grab some demos and indulge in a little retail therapy. The sim names seem to be wintry themed, but celebratory nonetheless, and it caused my post's title to sound like I have the wrong month ;)
My first look this evening is the charming Candy kitten gift, called Teddy set dots. It consists of the gathered top with detached puff sleeves and pleated skirt, each in sizes for Freya, Legacy, and Maitreya bodies, plus the fun bear collar with built in resize script. The feminine flavor of the pale pink is balanced by the chains draped on each side of the skirt, and you can easily leave the collar off and wear a different necklace if you prefer. I noticed a lot of people wearing pink earlier, which made me happy since usually I am the only one not wearing all black if I am sporting any other colors.
Speaking of colors, the gift from Avanti has plenty of them swirled together for us. This is their Kemi Dyed Set, with two versions of a flattering tube top and mini skirt each in Alice, Freya, Hourglass, Legacy, and Maitreya mesh body sizing. You could mix and match them I suppose, but today I was feeling the bold pops of color from version 1 together, and the delicate but no less beautiful twists of pink from version 2.
This pretty floral dress is the Belle Epoque gift named Dana, and she is provided in sizing for Legacy and Maitreya bodies. I really appreciate the style, with the wrapped skirt tied at the hem with those long trailing strands that fall below the knee.
Secrets of Gaia has created an exclusive gift for anyone who visits, the SoG SLB17 Gown in eye-popping bright blue. This flattering style is beyond floor length since it falls beautifully all around, and the halter neckline is connected to the back by a slender chain along the spine. The texture is flecked with tiny sparkles, and the shadowing really draws attention to every curve. This gift includes sizes for Freya, Hourglass, Physique, Legacy, and Maitreya bodies.
For my final look of the evening, I selected the gift from lassitude & ennui which is called Elemental leather top - SLB gift. These are all created for the Maitreya mesh body and there are 3 colors included, so you will receive the purple and teal seen above as well as a red version that has a rusty tinge to it so it is a terrific choice for leather. The jeans I am wearing are from my favorite marketplace freebie, a fatpack of jeans from Delizio that come in system/BOM layers plus appliers for Maitreya and Omega. You can get creative and pair the tops with whatever you prefer though, they are versatile.
It was a busy day, and tomorrow is going to be unexpectedly hectic too. I found out recently (yes, during a global health issue) that my new family doctor up and left the practice, so once again I have no doctor to prescribe all my fun medications. Apparently explaining that most doctors in the area are not taking new patients during a pandemic does not matter, and they refused to refill my scripts. Sigh. So I managed to get an emergency visit with a new doctor tomorrow somehow, LOL, well it was initially next week but the office called back to offer a slot opened up by a cancellation. It was sheer luck, and I am grateful, although not used to going out two days in a row lately so I guess I am feeling a little frazzled. New doctors make me nervous anyway, just hoping we click :) I have heard good things, so I am feeling positive too. Hiya everyone! Tonight we will visit another sim of the SL17B Shop and Hop event, for Second Life's 17th birthday celebration. There are 10 entire sims dedicated to shopping, with designers who create clothing, accessories, skins, hair, home decor, and more. Each display offers discounted selections, and nearly all have free gifts for visitors which is what I am sharing tonight from the Gilded sim. It is easiest for me to take it one region at a time so I am giving you one landmark, no confusion and trying to get into multiple sims at once. It is still fairly busy there, but definitely worth the visits.
For my first look this evening, I paired two gifts that coordinate nicely but will also work as part of whatever outfit you wish to create :) The top is the gift from Pink Cream Pie, called !PCP :: Melly Tank [Fruity Pack]. The halter style top comes in Freya, Legacy, and Maitreya sizes, with a HUD offering 12 prints and 12 solids for the main portion plus 12 colors each for the trim and string. The gift from Adorsy is simply named SL17B Gift Skirt, and is provided in Legacy and Maitreya sizing. The HUD included lets you pick from 20 main textures (all either striped or dotted) and 2 metals, plus 30 solid colors for the built in panties beneath which can also be turned on or off via HUD.
This gift is ideal for summer too, the .::Dead Dollz::. Silene Swimsuit - Tropical. With flowers and flamingoes in the pattern, of course it caught my attention :) This daring one piece has been created for the Maitreya mesh body, with a deep V neckline below a strappy belt, and ties in the back.
It is so appropriate to find this shiny gold gift from Baiastice on the Gilded sim! This is their Gio Belted Dress - Leopard, in sizes for Alice, Freya, Hourglass, Legacy, and Maitreya mesh bodies. There is a HUD included too that allows you to show/hide the belt and the built in panties. For some reason this dress makes me think nightclub, but there are many playful places you could wear it of course.
My next look shows just how intriguing a slender sheath dress can be. It is the Valentina E. Carrie Knit Dress Teal, and is designed for the Maitreya mesh body. The texture softly ripples with waves that, combined with the colors, put me in mind of the ocean at sunset. Simply beautiful!
For my final look of the evening, I am enjoying a sample of the .:PULSE:. gift which is their Vibsy Dress - Maitreya Lara Fatpack. There are 8 colors of dress included: army (seen on the right above), black, blue, blush, plum (left above), red, white, and wine. The belly chain belt comes in gold, onyx, rose gold, and silver for 4 options to mix and match with the dresses, or you can wear the dress alone without a belt of course. The waist chain really draws attention to the peekaboo opening in the back I think, and the low cut neckline.
My computer fan replacement has become a case of good news/bad news, well more like bad news then good news. We ordered the fans according to the information we found online for my exact case, but one of them was too big and that turned out to be the fan that needs replacing. The good news is that we ordered a spare fan that is smaller but also compatible with the case for that top fan, so I will have a proper fan installed very soon. There was research involved so that is why a slight delay, but the PC has been cleaned out and is otherwise doing fine :) I have a chiropractor appointment in the afternoon, so I think the plan is to do it upon returning home. I forget exactly how old the PC is, but most of the parts have been replaced over time so it isn't a bad setup and I am grateful that it works as well as it does. Hiya everyone! Tonight I will begin to show you some of the many gifts we can find at the SL17B Shop and Hop, part of Second Life's 17th Birthday celebration. There are 10 full sims loaded with designers offering discounted items, and most have a free gift for all visitors. Some are in little suitcases, others are signs on walls or other types of gift boxes, just look around each display carefully if you do not see it immediately. With so many sims, I will do what I usually do with their larger events and share them one sim at a time, so tonight's gifts can all be found on the Frosted sim. It is the weekend and things could be crowded, but the good news is that the event is open until the 12th of July so you can certainly wait until things are less hectic there. I went two days ago and it was busy but none of the sims were full to the point of not letting me in, and I visited half of them at that time. After the weekend, I will tackle the other five and have a terrific time unpacking those generous treats! Meanwhile I also have a new-ish release from [Ari-Pari] to show you that is close to my heart, and may be meaningful for many of you too.
My first look of the evening is a gift from #AplBlossom, their Ari No. 9 outfit. It is one of two SL17B gifts at this display, and there are 2 group gifts there if you happen to be in their group :) Ari No. 9 is a one piece with the appearance of two, a tank top and high waisted panties with a skirt attached, and includes both versions shown above (patterned and solid skirts) each sized for Freya, Legacy, and Maitreya mesh bodies.
The other treat I mentioned being at this display is from the Blossom&Seeds brand, called SL17B - Italy Exclusive Pack. It is also a single piece with built in layers of dress, bra top, and belt, and comes in sizes for Freya, Legacy, and Maitreya mesh bodies. There is a HUD provided to let you pick from 5 solid colors for the top and 5 pretty patterns for the blouse-style dress. The top is rather sheer because of being lace.
This gorgeous slip dress is our gift from Faida named Blanche, and she is a delicate satiny halter style with fun floral pattern. The gift includes Legacy, Legacy Perky, and Maitreya sizing. I couldn't resist trying on the gift from Gabrielle Hamelin with it, which is the lovely Adora Fun - Shards Necklace with Resizer. It even comes in an extra tiny size, but I wore the regular one and used the resize script to make it a bit bigger. The choker part itself reminds me of rock candy and its sweet clusters, while the heart pendant looks like hammered metal for a very attractive look.
I noticed I have been favoring shades of blue lately, so I was delighted to unpack this beautiful {le fil casse} Kennedy Dress Ice gift. It includes Freya, Isis, Hourglass, Legacy, and Maitreya sizing, with detached sleeves and lots of gathers for a charming style. I'll bet that necklace from the previous photo would look just as pretty with this neckline.
Over to [Ari-Pari], where they would like to remind us that Love Is Love with this poignant tee. It is ideal for Pride month of course, but just as true any day of the year :) The shirt comes in sizes for eBody Curvy, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh bodies, with a HUD offering 12 background colors. It is just $150L and better yet, with their free group tag is discounted to $135L. I personally am not LGBT+ but I am a proud ally, with friends and family members who are, and will always have my support and love as all LGBT+ folks do ♥. Hooray for the weekend! I am a bit anxious about parts of it, but looking forward to it nonetheless. I will be taking the day off from blogging tomorrow, as the fans did arrive for my poor hardworking PC so they will be replaced by a family member who has much more experience than I ever will at that sort of thing. I do not expect any problems, but it felt logical to just plan the day without any deadlines or pressure and to not rush said family member. The computer has been making noises for several months off and on, but the past few weeks it really increased and made me even more concerned. Hiya everyone! Tonight we take a final stroll along the Womenstuff Hunt path, since there are just a few days left of the hunt. I still had plenty I wanted to show you though :) As I have mentioned before, all the prizes are hiding inside red t-shirts for either free or just a single linden dollar, so these are very affordable yet high quality. Many of the prizes, as indicated on the hunt's website, are exclusives for this hunt, which is an extra reason to hurry and claim them.
Our first stop this evening is Waffles, where you can find their *WW* Toucan Dress ASH inside the hidden $1L red shirt. This strapless mini with sweetheart neckline and ruffled bow adorned with bows has a terrific pattern on the bodice with flowers and toucans. The prize comes in a fitted classic version for traditional avatars, and sizes for eBody Classic, eBody Curvy, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh bodies.
Be sure to follow the hints for both hidden t-shirts at Entice, as the prizes were designed to be worn together as well as separately. One contains the Entice - We are Young Dress - Blue Leaves, while the other holds their We are Young Bra - Blue Leaves which actually comes in a solid dark blue version as well as the patterned one. All these pieces are free, and include sizes for Freya, Hourglass, and Maitreya mesh bodies. The rear view is particularly interesting, since the bands of whichever bra you wear can be seen beneath the strap of the dress. I am wearing the patterned bra on the left (the straps are visible next to the dress's straps) and the solid blue on the right.
This lovely look is the Sweet Intoxications prize called Leala - Black Tropical. Find that $1L shirt and you can claim this strapless mini with built in belt, sized for eBody Curvy, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine bodies. The dark background color really shows off the flowers and greens wonderfully!
I also found a $1L gift at M&M Style, their Dress Savannah which is a long maxi dress with delicate straps that cross in the back. It is included in fitmesh standard sizes as well as eBody, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Ocacin, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine versions. I love the colors in this pattern, not to mention the flowers between all the intricate lines.
My final look is two more hunt prizes, both of which I think are perfect for summer whether you wear them together or apart. The bikini is the $1L prize from LEPIDOPTERA, whose name is the scientific term for butterfly, which makes sense with the prize being named }>i<{ MUZA Sunny Bikini & HUD. The top and bottom are each provided in standard mesh sizes plus Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and TMP body sizing. There is also a HUD with a whopping 200 texture options for bra, panties, or both, and lots of customization options! For instance, I clicked the tab for just bra and then clicked the red X in the upper left of the textures, which made the top invisible on the right above so I could better show you my new body art. That would be our free gift from Tamiron Forge, called Tribal Wings Tattoo [TF]. It comes in system/BOM layers and appliers for Omega and Aesthetic mesh bodies, and is easily a unisex tattoo that most of us can enjoy :) The styling almost reminds me of a butterfly because of antennae and a tail (?) but that could be power of suggestion from the bikini's brand. Artwork is meant to be interpreted by whomever appreciates it, so why not? :)
It was a stressful day on a personal level, nothing for anyone to worry about and not health related or anything...just a rehash of an argument with a family member that may never be fully resolved so I have to take lots of deep calming breaths and just move on. In general my family is wonderful, so this single issue is not a dealbreaker. Meanwhile I am looking forward to dinner tomorrow with my parents (neither of whom is part of the argument) and then a busy Saturday. I may need to take a day off from blogging to have a computer issue attended to, but will confirm that when it is definite like when the new fans are actually here in the same building as the computer. The clock is ticking, but if you use the hints on their website to guide you, finding these red t-shirts (free or just $1L each) should be very possible. I had so much fun locating them, and I did have Xan's help which I find especially useful since teamwork is a plus. Have a friend help you, and remind them that there are also paths for Menstuff, Kidstuff, Posestuff, and Homestuff so if they are not the Womenstuff type there are probably still prizes out there that you can assist them in finding.
My first look this evening combines two pries, so I will start from the top ;) That would be the .:WinTeRwooD Designs:. Elodie Top, which is a delighful free prize. It comes in sizes for eBody Curvy, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine mesh bodies. There is also a HUD included with 10 texture choices in various colors, two of which you can see above. It goes well with the prize from [D2T Designs], their WS Hunt 2020-06 jeans. This slender design has artwork on the right thigh and a built-in black belt, and is provided in standard mesh sizes as well as Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and TMP mesh body versions.
I kept the D2T jeans on to wear beneath this next gift, the $1L hunt prize from DEKA called Jennifer Tunic. It could be a long top or short dress, that just depends on your comfort level, and you can easily layer leggings beneath it instead. Hiya everyone! Tonight's post is another handful of prizes from the Womenstuff Hunt, because there are still so many that I have not shared yet even though they are truly worth the effort of finding. Just follow the hints on the hunt's website to find the red t-shirts for $0L or $1L, quite a bargain for high quality gifts especially considering that some are exclusives to this hunt and will only be available this month in those hidden shirts. Another tip I may not have mentioned enough is that the shirts can be resized and a few were surprisingly tiny, so don't be afraid to use your camera controls to really zoom in close when you find something that matches the hint.
My first look this evening is the Carnaval Paisley Set from {Poeme}, a $1L treat waiting for you inside their red t-shirt. The tied top comes in fitmesh standard sizes as well as Belleza, Maitreya, and Slink versions, while the matching wrap skirt is provided in standard sizing plus Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and TMP sizes. The included alpha layers help ensure that this outfit will work for most classic and mesh avatars.
We go from a mini skirt to a maxi skirt, with equally pretty results here :) This is the dollarbie prize from MG Designs, their Laura Top & Skirt, which are well coordinated between the solid plummy purple and the purple/gold pattern on white background. Each piece is provided in standard mesh sizes as well as Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and TMP mesh body versions. I do appreciate the Boho flavor this outfit has.
Sweet Distractions has one free t-shirt that contains 3 generous gifts, so consider me sweetly distracted! Two can be seen here, starting with the S/D Cropped Halter Tank in Black which is provided in system/BOM layers along with an Omega applier. It looks terrific with the S/D Mesh Folded Mini Skirt in Red Nylon, which comes in a Maitreya size. You can wear either of these with whatever you prefer, I just found it convenient to show them together since they do pair wonderfully.
The third gift inside the Sweet Distractions shirt is this S/D Mesh Bell-sleeve Dress - Teal Vintage Lace, which has been created to fit the Maitreya mesh body. I enjoy the flared sleeves and asymmetrical neckline, and simply must mention how lovely that color is. I am quite fond of lace as it is, so that is just an extra special touch.
My final look of the evening is our free prize from Krystal's, and is the kind of thing I genuinely can say you will need to see in person to appreciate. It is their [KS] Carra in Wet Turquoise, and that fun aquatic texture you see is animated! Imagine the appearance of rippling water, and what a fun choice for a bikini that can be worn in or alongside a beach or pool.
