Hiya everyone! Tonight's post is a huge welcome back, as I'm thrilled that the Twisted Hunt is back :) After a 3 year hiatus, we've got a theme of Hell Froze Over, which definitely shows their tongue-in-cheek attitude. This is billed as the hardest hunt in SL, with lots of small rotating cubes that you might wind up seeing in your sleep after enough time. They are patterned with a fire and ice type appearance, and when you start at their headquarters you will see your first cube so you know what you're seeking. There can be up to 13 visible decoys in addition to the main prize, which will be within 30 meters of the landing spot. There are no hints on the website, primarily because the designers tend to move the prizes around, but we can ask politely in the hunt's group for a hint if we get stuck. My partner Xan and I use teamwork, patience, and voice chat (faster and clearer than having to type out what we're trying to say) to do the hunt together, so my suggestion is to ask a friend to join you for an even more fun adventure. Another bit of advice is to always click the hunt easel if you see one, since the notecard it gives might contain a hint or details about a side hunt, or extra prizes like some of the decoys actually contain little treats. These top notch designers are showing how happy they are that Twisted is back, with some creative ways of interpreting the theme and some really generous (and devious) surprises! We're starting the evening with the Dreaming Thicket - Carnation Gown (Femme) - Hellfire prize, which is a lovely medieval styled dress in colors we can find in flames. There are a classic size and a fitmesh one for classic avatars, along with sizing for Freya, Isis, Venus, Legacy, Maitreya, Lara X, Ocacin, Reborn, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, Tonic Fine, and Voluptuous mesh bodies. Every detail, from the panels in the front to the gathered sleeves, work together beautifully to create an unforgettable look.
Next I slipped into the dazzling Steel & Ink - Frostmaiden prize, an intriguing style to keep you warm and looking hot. This outfit is all one piece, even the boots, and I have to mention that those fire-colored sequins you see actually twinkle and change colors in person :) It fits Legacy, Bombshell, Perky, Maitreya, Petite, Reborn, and Waifu mesh bodies.
It was such a pleasure to see that Psyche's Pstyles is a part of the hunt too, so you can imagine how happy I am to share their Obsidian Flow Dress as their prize for us. There are sizes for Freya, Isis, Legacy, Maitreya, Lara X, Reborn, Hourglass, and Physique mesh bodies, all with that great style that looks as though it was created by magic. Fun fact about obsidian - it is volcano glass, formed by rapidly cooling lava, so that works so well with the theme of hell freezing over! Not that I'm sure that there are volcanoes in hell, but if there were and it suddenly froze, you'd find lots of obsidian. This dress doesn't even need any jewelry, just a simple pair of shoes to complete the look.
Another showstopper of a prize is our ~MystRie~ Fire & Ice Gown. This incredible style looks like modern art, with dramatic neckline and long icy train. We receive Freya, Isis, Legacy, Maitreya, Lara X, Reborn, and Waifu mesh body sizes when we find this hidden cube. There are several hidden here actually, 7 I believe, containing prizes for men, women, and dinkies. So please take your time and explore thoroughly, as you'll be greatly rewarded :)
For my final look this evening, I'm showing off our @rOrO Halloween Plaid Set prize. I love that it includes matching footwear! We start with the top and skirt, each provided in sizing for Erika, Legacy, Lara X, Reborn, and Star mesh bodies. Then we get to add the bow platforms, which are designed for Gen X, Legacy, Maitreya, Reborn, and Slink feet. Those really solid type platform shoes make me think of 90s grunge style somehow, and the plaid colors are perfect for this time of year right along with the fire and ice combo of our theme.
It was a pretty good evening with some exciting hockey while I started this post, so I am in a pleasant mood :) It still feels like every time I turn around there's another event starting in SL, all for Halloween and several with gifts that I can share here.
