Sn@tching up Spring Grab Bags

Hiya everyone! Tonight's post is a fun one, with more gifts from the Sn@tch Spring Day Fishing Grab Bag Set, where all you need is a 7 Seas fishing rod and some time to relax at Sn@tch's beautiful store with some lucky boards, riot vendors, and of course the 7 Seas vendor where you can pick up a rod to take part in all the fishing fun. There is one week left for this grab bag set, and don't forget they are transferable so you can trade with friends. Oh and yes, I do have a new look which I will gladly explain at the end of the post.

I am a big fan of this delicate blouse, the Sn@tch Tawny Crop Top in Yellow, which is found in grab bag #13 in system layers as well as an Omega applier. You may recognize the style of these capris from 2 posts ago, the first one I did with these grab bag goodies, they are Sn@tch Sweets Capris in Lime (the orange and aqua were in the first post) from bag #2 and are included in system layers plus an Omega applier. I love the fun chain belt, one of many pretty details of these pieces.

This trio of beautiful tops were tucked inside grab bag #14 and called Tracie Gingham Top in Jade/Aqua/Blue. They are provided in system layers as well as an Omega applier, and will be a wonderful addition to your spring (and even summer) wardrobe. Those sexy sheer panels are such nice touches, and I love the tiny bow and buttons on each. Making a reappearance from yesterday's blog are the Daisy Ripped Pants in White, another grab bag treat from #9 that are clearly quite versatile. System layers and an Omega applier are included here too, so classic avatars or mesh body wearers can appreciate these.

If the weather on the sim you'll be visiting has not quite warmed up yet, Sn@tch has you covered with their Frieda Hoodies in Seafoam and Violet. Each color is included in standard mesh sizes along with a fitmesh version and a Slink size, all inside grab bag #17. The jeans you see here are the very same from the outfit I showed yesterday from grab bag #10, you last saw them with an elegant scarf top with which they were packaged but I did mention they can be versatile :) I left the cuffs off so you would be able to see grab bag #11's prize easier, that would be those cute Sn@tch High Heel Sneaks in Denim. The styling is so playful, those inner zippers and the white leather accents really pop.

I really appreciate the beautiful prize from grab bag #21, called Sn@tch Blossom Kimono Dress in Peach. It comes in standard mesh sizes and has a soft draped look, with the built in belt wrapped up in a bow on the back. The color is terrific, and I couldn't decide if the pattern reminded me more of fireworks or a dandelion but I love it either way.

Once you have all your fishing treats, I have a perfect suggestion for how to dress up those nails, for free! Any outfit is going to look extra special with a fresh manicure, so head over to LIVIA and if you haven't already, join their free group and you can claim these Cheetah Girl Nails in all 6 colors shown. The HUD is compatible with Slink, Maitreya, Omega, Vista, and Tuty, so your favorite static or Bento nails can look amazing.

Okay, so why do I look so very different tonight? :) Well, I have been researching and demo'ing mesh heads for ages, and am still rather undecided on which will help me feel most like myself. But I found out about a group gift from EVE, whose group only costs $1L to join, and was so excited that it has Omega compatibility because I do have a collection of Omega head appliers from my favorite skin creators already. So after claiming the gift head, I zipped over to the Omega store and joined their group ($5L) to get a discount on their EVE relay system ($50L group price) for a grand total of $56L to get to own my very first mesh head :) That is an unthinkable bargain, really! Since the gift is a free version, there are no expressions and I realized no eyelashes, so I am wearing a pair of prim lashes I found from a 2014 lucky board prize from WoW Skins. So what is included? Well, the head itself of course, and the alpha layer, along with a free version HUD that does offer a few makeup options and skin tones. There is even a neck tattoo applier for Slink bodies. If you haven't taken the plunge into the world of mesh heads yet, this is a fantastic way to dip your toes in and see what you think.

Another hectic day with not enough sleep here, but I am hopeful that you are all having a wonderful day/evening. Magical magpie hugs to each of you!!

More Spring Fishing

Hiya everyone! Tonight I have a few more looks from the Spring Day Fishing Grab Bag Set at Sn@tch, and as I've mentioned before you just need a 7 Seas fishing rod ($100L for the casual that will never require buying bait, and can be used everywhere 7 Seas stuff is found so a valuable investment) and some patience to catch all 21 pieces. They are transferable though, so you could trade them among friends to collect even faster and help one another look terrific. Just camp out near the lucky boards and riot vendors, set your rod to auto-cast, and you're in for a fun time with plenty of reward.

This outfit is the sassy Sn@tch Brooklyn Halter & Shorts in Pink, and I chuckled at my first thought being a rockabilly Pebbles Flintstone :) The lower portion of the top is sheer as you can tell, with a tiny peekaboo opening in the back above the belt. The belt is a built in part by the way, as well as that pretty medallion necklace. The top and shorts are each included in standard mesh sizes, all in grab bag #8.

I was delighted to find this next outfit tucked into bag #10, called Sn@tch Pasha Scarf Top (Beige) and Jeans. They are each included in system layers and Omega appliers, plus those cute jeans cuffs are provided for a finished look if you aren't wearing boots. Just look at those tassels on the back and front of that gorgeous top! The jeans are nice and versatile with their cleanly ripped knees and simple black belt.

If the warmer weather of the new season inspires you to look for a breezy dress, have a peek into grab bag #12 where you will find Sn@tch Birdie Babydoll Dress in Violet. The pastel color is perfect, and those dainty little daisies acting as a belt above the empire waist are a fantastic touch. It includes standard mesh sizes, which worked out well with my Slink Physique body.

One last look for the night is a pair of grab bags, starting with the fun tops from #15 called Sn@tch Tequila Tanks in Pink and White. Each comes in standard mesh sizes, and the white one had the transparency set to 20 so I edited it (texture tab in edit mode) and changed it to 0 to present a solid version here. Besides, I had alpha'ed out my nipples and that was a very odd look to be peeking through a sheer shirt ;) It was very handy to be able to change the transparency so easily. The jeans are found in grab bag #9 and are called Sn@tch Daisy Ripped Pants in White, and include system layers along with a handy Omega applier as well as the pant cuffs. I love the trio of daisies imitating a belt buckle, they certainly add a seasonal flavor to these great pants.

Whew, I have to apologize again for missing another evening's blog post last night, I was visiting at the hospital for a lot longer than anticipated. My family member was discharged this morning, so I have shifted from hospital visitor back to home caretaker. It isn't easy but it is worth it, of course. These antibiotic-resistant infections are horrible, aren't they? My next post should hold an interesting surprise, as I have been trying some new things. Stay safe, have a beautiful day/evening, and magical magpie hugs to everyone!!!

Spring Into Sn@tch

Hiya everyone, and Happy Spring! With each new season, Ivey over at Sn@tch tends to offer a set of seasonal grab bags as her Fish 4 This set, and the newest round is just that...Spring Day Fishing Grab Bag Set, featuring 21 different treats to fish up with a 7 Seas rod (buy the casual one there or anywhere 7 Seas gear is sold, and you can use it unbaited forever) and the prizes are transfer/no-copy so you can swap them among your friends. It helps you build your collection faster, and fishing with a friend can help pass the time. The fishing setup is outside of her new store build, with the riot vendors and lucky boards, so there is plenty to enjoy while you are there. Tonight I have a sampling of the many wonderful prizes tucked inside those grab bags.

My first look definitely puts a spring in my step, please excuse the silly pun. It is found in grab bag #1 and called May Floral Mini Dress in Violet. I love the contrasting patterns with that same gorgeous basic color, and the drape of the fabric looks so soft and fluttery. It comes in standard mesh sizes plus a fitted version, so you should be able to find a great fit in that bag.

Here we have two more grab bag items, the top is the charming Kendall Floral Crop Top in Aqua, with double straps and pretty peachy orange bow and lace to match the flowers in the pattern. It is found in grab bag #3 in standard sizes. I paired it with one of three colors of Sn@tch Sweets Capris from bag #2, this is the orange but you'll also find lime and aqua in there, system layers plus an Omega applier. It matches so well, I would have almost thought it was always meant to be a set.

Those cute Sweets Capris make another appearance here, this time in Aqua, to help me show off the gift inside grab bag #4, Leila Sequin Halter Top in Pink. You will find all 5 standard mesh sizes tucked away in that bag, and the playful style can go with all sorts of pants or skirts. As with most of SL, the only limit is your imagination.

One last peek for now, this adorable top is from grab bag #7 and is called Gracie Ruched Tube Top in Blue. That texture is just fantastic, and this is definitely a versatile addition to our wardrobes. The skirt I paired it with is the Sunshine Skater Skirt, also in Blue, from grab bag #6. Each of these come in standard mesh sizes, and I can already think of several things I'd like to pair each component with, even a few from previous Sn@tch fishing sets or their lucky boards.

Today went sideways on me, so I apologize for the lateness of this post...the ill family member I mentioned last night wound up having to return to the hospital and was admitted this time, for an undetermined stay to receive potent antibiotics. I'm afraid we are looking at a resistant bacterial infection, which can turn ugly really quickly as it did for my grandmother in December. I am still blogging for now as best I can because the familiar routine is comforting to me, and I cannot do much from here except worry. This seems a bit more productive...please be kind to each other out there, you never know what someone else is dealing with. Magical magpie hugs to all of you!!!

Another Touch of Steam

Hiya everyone! Sorry for the unexpected lack of post yesterday, but I am back with a few more prizes from the delightful Steam XII Hunt. All you need to do is search for a small silver gear at each store (hints and sometimes a path of footprints are provided at each stop) and click to claim the generous prizes which include male and female clothing, accessories, home decor, textures, and more. There are over 80 participating creators, so you are bound to find plenty that suits your second lifestyle.

I am really drawn to the styling of this dress from Sparrow by Design, who have thoughtfully provided both a male and a female gift for this hunt. This is their Gun Club Groupie dress and has a beautiful corset bodice, with plaid skirt and a draped shawl that reads Baltimore Gun Club up top, then around the hem "One day, however -- sad and lamentable day! -- peace was signed by the survivors of the war". The gown is in standard mesh sizes, all one piece, and there is a slight train to its style.

Kittycat's Creations provides yet another well researched treat for us hunters. This is the Cog For-us and is based on a tantalus (usually a small locked cabinet to protect alcohol from servants or younger family members) as well as a ferris wheel, as seen in the middle. The decanters are Steampunk Cocktails and Lovecraft Brews, each of which offers any who touches it a choice of 12 beverages. Two examples from the Steampunk selection are called Laced Absinthe and Gear Grinder, while two fun possibilities from the Lovecraft list are Deep One Ale or Nightgaunt Whiskey. Drink at your own risk ;) There are two versions of the tray, one wearable as seen here and one to rez out for a mere 4 land impact. The drinks you receive upon clicking have a built in animation, and each have unique chat emotes too. Just right click and add from your inventory.

AdelleArts has us looking ready for just about anything (but mostly adventure) in this fun Lady Adventure outfit, which does have a male counterpart included in the prize too. The shirt, tank top, and shorts are a single mesh piece in standard sizes plus a Maitreya version, while the boots and resizeable hat are included as well. The resize script came in handy for my springy curls.

There are many home decor items available throughout this hunt, especially including this gorgeous bookcase from Simply Shelby. It is their Jules Verne bookcase and has a land impact of 12, and is just so lovingly created to honor the author with many of his books on the shelves, a photo of him in the upper right, and some fun extra details. Be sure to keep an eye on the man on the moon when you display this, and you can click the ships wheel for one light and any of the brass bars on the top for even more light as shown. The case itself has a reclaimed ash finish, which as you can see is quite beautiful. You can click this photo to enlarge it and see it a bit better.

The best way to sum up my absence is that a family member wound up in the emergency room and I have been acting as a caretaker ever since. Cellulitis (a skin infection, swelling and redness with a fever) can be surprisingly serious, and if said family member does not improve and requires inpatient IV antibiotics, I will most likely be accompanying them for about a week while they receive treatment and would be completely unable to blog. I humbly ask for your positive energy, prayers, well wishes, healing vibes, etc., not for myself but for their speedy recovery. The ankle is a bad location for an infection it seems, since standing or walking becomes so painful as to be nearly impossible. While we wait to see how these antibiotics work, I will try to keep up with my blog and hope for the best. I do hope all of you are having a much better day than I, magical magpie hugs to each of you!!

Steaming Towards the Weekend

Hiya everyone! Tonight I have more goodies from the Steam XII Hunt to share, various takes on their theme From Earth to the Moon (the 1864 Jules Verne novel). The hunt is a very enjoyable visit through many types of stores across the grid, not just steampunk style, and you will be following hints given by the sign at each location to find a silver gear. There are paths of footprints at some stops but not all, extra helpful when stores are large or have multiple buildings. I enjoy the wide range of stores who take part, and do often spend time exploring.

This first outfit is our female prize from Cutie Larks, their Steam Selene Outfit and Boots. There is a corresponding male prize as well. The outfit itself here is a single mesh piece in standard sizes, complete with matching boots with a resize script built in. I love the long sheer train, a lovely contrast to the short gathered skirt and fun straps. Just find the hidden gear and give it a click to claim.

Another fun look is this prize from Thistle Moon Designs, it is called Lady Emissary of Earth (the male version is Emissary of Earth) and comes in standard mesh sizes. That train is actually attached to the gown, but it moves like flexi so it gives a unique look. I am a big fan of those colors, too, and coincidentally they are perfect for today and St. Patrick's Day.

Perhaps you are craving an elegant look in a springlike yellow shade, look no further than the gear at Miss Darcy. This is their Unwrapped Dress - Classic Mesh - Steam and is provided in standard mesh sizing. The subtle print is beautiful, and the styling is captivating with the unusual hemline.

Our last glimpse of the evening is the striking Red Velvet Victorian Chaise from Park Place, on which I am comfortably lounging in one of dozens of built in poses. There are 24 female and 25 male poses to choose from, no pose balls needed just right click and have a seat. The land impact is a modest 6, and a few of the poses will temporarily rez props for you like the reading and coffee drinking ones. That keeps your prim count reasonable as well. It has copy permissions which allows you to rez out as many as you need, perfect for a room with a vintage flavor.

I hope you are all having a great day/evening, magical magpie hugs to everyone!!

From Earth to the Moon

Hiya everyone! We have a few more prizes to see tonight from the Steam XII Hunt, whose theme is From Earth to the Moon, a Jules Verne novel from 1864 when traveling to the moon was still over a century away from reality. I find it fascinating how people including Verne had dreamed of it and came up with intensely detailed ideas of how to accomplish such a feat back then! The creators taking part in this hunt have come up with some fascinating takes on the theme, using an alternate timeline (as I believe Steampunk generally does) for the Victorian era, or simply helping us see how they envision space travel and the like. As I mentioned last night, this hunt consists of seeking out hidden gears (I have also been calling them either cogs or sprockets in my head) in a silvery shade this round, by following the hint from the sign at each store. Some locations have set out a path of footprints, they are tan with a gear pattern and very helpful for large stores or ones with multiple buildings. Just click each gear when you find it and you will receive a folder with the prize and next landmark, all for free.

I am a huge Harry Potter fan, so this prize from Inara's Fantasy made me smile, if a bit confusedly. It is called Steampunk Outfit, and comes in small, medium, and large mesh sizes with the tie as a separate attachment that you can click to change colors. There are actually 3 distinct zones to click, and all 4 Hogwarts houses are represented in the colors (I am randomly rocking Ravenclaw blue here, tend to get sorted there or Gryffindor) and I noticed the Hogwarts crest right away. This can suit either fandom or a blending of the two.

This next prize had me feeling very wistful, pondering the beauty of vintage clothing. It is the female gift from Curious Seamstress (there was a notecard inside asking the men to message her to receive the mens' prize when it is ready) and is called 1860's Female Gown. The details are impressive, with system layers and a few useful Omega HUDs for evening gown, day blouse, and day gown (shown) plus undergarments. The skirt has 3 layers, all of which are worn above, plus the sash which can be modified, the bow you see at the neckline, even 2 sun hats which are the Autumn Roses version shown and a plain edition. Not shown since they are system layers only, gloves in black or white or apricot, and a jacket layer with lace cuffs as attachments. This is one impressive ensemble :)

Next we blast off to Tayren's Fantasy Fashions, where you will find this TFF Space Girl - Retro Sci Fi Suit as well as a mens' version in their gear. The body suit is mesh in standard sizes, and also included are the helmet, ray guns in a hip version and the held one to shoot in mouselook (I am wearing both here), belt with resize script, resizeable boots, and back rockets you can click to turn the pink flames on and off. Not shown but also included, hair and gloves to complete the look. This is certainly a fun costume for roleplay or just random adventures.

Once I was certain I was safe in this atmosphere, I removed the helmet and put away my ray gun to check out this lovely telescope from Fairey Angel Creations. Our hunt prize had a land impact of just 6, and there is a single pose plus a couples pose built in so you can admire the stars alone or together. It is very detailed, lots of bright brass holding together the rich wooden components and of course the lenses.

The weekend is almost here, and I am looking forward to it since I haven't been out since the snow arrived. I hope you are all having a great day or evening, and that the weekend holds plenty of exciting things for each of you. Magical magpie hugs to everyone!!

Steamy Wednesday

Hiya everyone! Nope, my night is not steamy because of the weather (still several inches of snow and ice outside) but rather because I am working on the Steam XII Hunt. The theme is From Earth to the Moon, a Jules Verne novel from 1864 which I have not had the pleasure of reading yet but will hopefully remedy that eventually :) Meanwhile the basic idea is to search for the hidden gear at each stop (this round it is silver, other rounds have used various colors of the same shape) and each store should have a sign with a hint giver. If you see footprints on the ground, tan with a pattern of gears inside, that is a path to guide you towards the prize but is not used at all stores. Maybe you enjoy roleplaying in SL, or perhaps you just appreciate a change of pace, whatever your reasoning I hope you find some terrific prizes as I have. To get started, you can visit the information center and don't forget to click that blog link above.

This first outfit is one of several mini hunt prizes at Mountain Rose, where each one you find will give you the next clue along with a gift (or set of gifts). This is from #03 and is their Lady Diplomat, part of a set that includes a male prize as well as CK and TD boys and girls each. The ladies' diplomat look consists of the skirt and jacket in standard fitmesh sizes, along with the Steampunk hat with resize script and even the fun spyglass cane shown here in its open version, plus a closed version. Included but not shown because I had a temporary SL glitch are a pair of matching boots. Since I relogged until the glitch went away, I was able to hide my Slink feet to show you other boots and they are much like the one in the third photo below, just colored a deep blue for this outfit.

This is such a fun look! Continue along that mini hunt and you will find this in prize #06, The Inventor which is shown in its Lady version but also includes Mens and CK boy, CK girl, TD boy, and TD girl. The ladies' costume is a one piece layered overalls/shirt in standard mesh sizes, plus the resizeable tool belt I am enjoying so much, and the matching hat with resize script. Even the boots are included and have a resize script too, since comfort is important while you are inventing. Is it weird that my first thought was Steampunk Super Mario?

I am definitely ready for adventure in this prize from stop #09 in the Mountain Rose mini hunt, and it is aptly named The Explorer. Like the others, it has a Ladies and Mens version, plus CK and TD each for boys and girls. The Explorer Lady starts with the sassy dress in standard mesh sizes, the boots which have a very Victorian feel to me (similar but in blue were the ones I mentioned from that first photo above) and let's not forget my awesome backpack and helmet which each have a built in resize script. Included but not shown, a pair of leggings in system layers so classic avatars only. I'm sure I have some appliers for leggings, tights, or pants that could work out just fine.

One last look of the evening, this is the female prize from Destiny's Designs (yes, that does mean there is a male prize too) called Gambler's Lady. It is beautifully detailed, starting with the blouse in 5 standard fitmesh sizes, the skirt and shawl each in 8 fitmesh sizes including Belleza, Maitreya, and Slink. The bowler hat, necklace, and goggles are lovely touches, as you can see in the closer view of that necklace. Included but not shown, gloves in 3 sizes (none of which fit my arms) and hair with a color HUD so you can adjust the color. I have to admit, I was too attached to my newest Truth Hair purchase made just prior to taking these photos, to remove it ;) Her name is Miriam and I chose her because I wanted something with a classic style, and I find those soft waves to be very romantic.

It has been a quiet day here, although I was informed that the roads are pretty clear but parking lots are not, so going places is fine until you need a parking space. I've noticed that before around here, they seem to feel unburying half the usual spots is good enough but then the brave souls who trek to the stores have to squabble over every spot like a flock of pigeons with a single breadcrumb. Hopefully the temperature will rise enough to melt some of it the next few days, slowly enough to avoid flooding of course. *fingers crossed* I hope you're all having a terrific day/evening, magical magpie hugs to each of you!
