Sunday Morning Advent

 Hiya everyone! This morning I am bringing you a special post with some delightful Advent gifts from all around the grid. They are time sensitive as most of these calendars only offer each day's gift for free for that one day, although some stores sell the prior gifts for a small amount so those who missed them can still pick them up. Some calendar boards automatically let you claim previous ones for free still, while others are more limited to just that date. I suggest visiting as promptly as you can when you see this, and if it is no longer Sunday in SL you may not get the exact gifts shown here but you can still find excellent treats to brighten your day :) 

My first look is the Applique` Chic gift for the 19th called AC: Snowfall Dress Red2. We do not need any particular group tag to claim these, just find the gift box with 19 on the front in the tree-shaped display of boxes and purchase for $0L. The previous dates are available for $10L each as well. So our lovely long dress has a wrap style that creates a slit on the left leg, and the red sleeve trim matches the neck band that crosses in the front. This gift includes sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Legacy, Maitreya, Ocacin, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, Tonic Fine, and Voluptuous mesh bodies. 

This sexy ensemble is the [>Ma'De<] Sarina Leopard gift for today on their Advent calendar, and you will need their free group tag active to claim it. The top, skirt, and chain are each provided in Hourglass, Legacy, and Maitreya mesh body sizing. I was intrigued by the intricate chain and its medallion resembling a necklace, and don't forget since they are separate pieces you can wear the top and skirt without the chain if you prefer. A little leopard print is sure to stand out among all the red and green or black dresses your fellow clubgoers or party attendees will be wearing ;)

Dark Water Designs and Dark Knight Decor have teamed up for a 12 days of Christmas calendar, and they alternate dates for their gifts. Today is a DWD gift of his and hers fashions, including the Cropped Jacket & Skirt Set I'm enjoying here. The jacket, skirt, and sweater insert are all provided in sizes for classic avatars (5 standard and 5 fitmesh) as well as for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine mesh bodies. There is a lot to see and explore on the Birds of Peace region, and today I'd like to draw your attention to the DW Advent calendar with their Xmas Lingerie Blue gift for today. The top and panties (G-string style) are each included in Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine mesh body sizing. The flurry of snowflakes goes so well with the white furry trim on the top and pompoms on the panties, making for a very grown up nod to Santa's finery.

My final look this morning comes from Fashion Fantasy, who offer a men's board in a neighboring building to the one that holds this ladies board. I also wanted to mention that while many Advent gifts have a distinct seasonal flavor to them, this one almost reminds me of Valentine's Day with the soft colors and hearts. I think it will suit any season or time of year that makes you happy. 

It has been a fairly nice weekend so far, and I am glad the weather wasn't overly cold yesterday for the farmers market. I met an adorable dog named Lorenzo, who belongs to the family of a young woman who works there and I chat with each week. I have lots of tasty treats in my fridge, and I just had a nice cup of hot tea (mint, herbal, no caffeine) to try to soothe this cough of mine. I am also taking cough syrup with no noticeable change yet, and really thinking that not going near my grandmother this holiday is the wiser decision even if it is disappointing. I will make a special trip to see her once I am feeling better, a belated Christmas ♥. I will either blog more Advent goodies tomorrow morning, or a less time-limited post on Monday evening, depending on how I feel and what I find. The Wash and Group Gifts

It saddens me to see this longtime event coming to an end, and I will always have fond memories of it as a customer and then blogger, but I understand that times and situations change. This is their lovely Ghostyss - OPHELIE red, a zippered dress with playful white polka dots. Happy Weekend! My day was a pretty good one, particularly since I got an appointment scheduled for the vaccine, or Fauci ouchie as some are calling it ;) I'm getting it on Monday afternoon, and I hate needles so I am not looking forward to that aspect but will feel a lot better knowing I am helping to keep my parents and in turn my grandmother safer by being protected myself. My parents had theirs already though, theirs was the one dose brand and mine is a two dose so I have to make another appointment while there. I am prepared for arm soreness, and might take that evening off to rest depending how I feel. Speaking of nights off, I am taking tomorrow off because having the last few Saturdays away from blogging has worked out really well for me. I have my usual visit to a farmers market to enjoy tomorrow, then typical household stuff to do for the remainder of the weekend. Advent Calendar Presents

 Hiya again everyone! It is a pleasure to share some Advent Calendar treats with all of you this morning, and the timing is far better than my usual evening posts since by the time those go live on the blog, there is probably less than 2 hours remaining in the SL day to claim them. I try to give as much time as possible, while letting you know which will be available past the current date just in case. Some of these gifts today are for groups that are free to join, while others are accessible to everyone with no group tag necessary. There are certainly ones out there with fees to join the required group or a daily cost for a gift, but I am choosing to focus on the entirely free ones. Honestly you can find incredible offers from all of them, so it boils down to your personal tastes and your linden budget :) This year in particular I feel like we deserve to be treated well, yet I am not against choosing to treat yourself to a splurge or two.

As of my visit just a while ago, there were a few stars ready that ended with the 15th so that is what I am enjoying here. It is their CAMILLA Dress C - Dez 15, which combines a flirty style with bold colors and pattern for a great effect. It includes sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh bodies. I am not certain if all prior days are going to remain free for the duration of the event, so my recommendation is to hurry and visit if you are interested. I believe the other gifts are a gown, shoes, and jewelry, so there is a variety of fashion and accessories to enjoy.

I am chuckling because it feels like I was just here doing this exact thing, wrapping up a blog post...because it was just a handful of hours ago ;) December gets a bit hectic for my blogging schedule, but this year I welcome the distraction since it keeps me focused on other than my grandmother's health or not being able to see most of my family this year. I will still take a day or two off at the actual holiday, mostly just to have a vacation for my wrists and fingers.  Hiya everyone! Tonight I have all sorts of tempting fashions to share from a variety of sources. We start at The Wash Cart Sale, whose current round opened a few days ago and runs until the 25th of the month. There is a little something for everyone there, as I have spotted clothing for men, women and kids plus home decor, accessories, textures, and more, all of which are priced at $50L or lower. My next stop was The Free Dove, which has been bringing us generous free gifts from designers all across the grid for well over a decade now. You just need their free group tag "Blessed by a Dove" to claim any and all of the offerings you see there, either categorized by type (tonight's looks are from a Womens Casual display) or by designer since some have their own display with multiple gifts. Last but certainly not least, I have a Saturday Sale offer from Entice to show off :) I do enjoy variety, as you can clearly tell.

First we see two selections from the several at the Artistic.Rage cart at The Wash, incidentally the same sim where their mainstore is located. On the left I am wearing their A.R Blossom Dress, and on the right is A.R LoveStruck which is the same alluring style in a different pattern. I have had The Free Dove on my mind for a while now, and am really happy to have found a couple of gifts to share that suited my weekend mood :) This treat from Fatal Fashion is their Outfit 129 - White, combining a single long sleeved ruffled blouse with a ruffled miniskirt and thigh high boots laced up in the back. The gift also consists of an upper arm bracelet, hoop earrings, and a nose piercing for plenty of accessorizing.

Whew, what a day! The farmers market was enjoyable as usual, and I got compliments on my new unicorn patterned mask which was very comfortable and I am inclined to order a couple more now that I know they do prevent sunglasses fogging issues. (They are referred to as 3D masks or origami masks if you are curious.) The weather was beautiful, and I got some delicious food that always makes my week easier. I am trying to focus on positive things, and I think SL is a wonderful place to forget life's troubles and relax for a while. Bring Me To Life

Hiya everyone! Tonight's post starts at the Sun-Sational Summer Cart Sale at The Wash, with fashions and furniture as more examples of the many wonderful offerings you can find there. Everything is $50L or less, with an impressive variety from dozens of talented designers from all over the grid. the post then continues with a dramatic change of theme, thanks to the Gothic Hunt :) This is a $1L gridwide hunt that has us looking for black roses (flat prim image, just the bloom without stem or leaves) with plenty of prizes to appeal to our inner (or outer) Goth. The website has landmarks, hints, and previews for most so you know what you will find in each rose. The outfits wound up inspiring my title, since Evanescence popped into my head while I was enjoying trying them all on.

My first look has selections from two carts, so I will start with the bikini I am wearing. It is the exclusive $50L offer from Magnetic, called Sweet Summer Top&Panties. Each are included in sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Legacy, Legacy Perky, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh bodies, with that fun summer fruits image on the front and a flirty rear view. I am lounging cozily in one of the Sequel offers, their Baha Beanbag - Gray, which has a low land impact of 2 so it won't eat up much of your home's prim allowance. Above me is another Sequel selection called Summer Pineapple Mirror - Yellow, a cheerful way to brighten your wall with just 1 land impact and a low price tag of $25L. Another cart that always has affordable and tempting treats is that of Dark Water Designs, and tonight I randomly chose their DWD Summer Denim Dress, Hibiscus to show off. It is a mere $40L and includes the dress and 2 colors of panties (black or white, which you can see a glimpse of on the right) all sized for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh bodies. But that's not all! There is a HUD provided too, with 7 colors to choose from for your floral denim texture. There are other versions of this same style on sale too, not to mention some super sexy bikinis and shorts outfits. Over to the Gothic Hunt path, I was able to find the black rose at The Sissy Bar and eagerly claimed their lovely dress which is named after the hunt. It comes in classic M and fitmesh M for classic avatars, as well as sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine mesh bodies. I appreciate the way it combines feminine ruffles with the dark pattern of skulls and roses in various shades of red and pink. 

This gorgeous outfit is the hunt prize from ~MystRie~ which is simply called Gothic Hunt Gift. The delightfully detailed Rose Dress comes in Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and TMP sizing, all with a sheer lacy layer atop the skirt which is adorned with roses, and the top has belts and a zipper textured onto the bodice. The rose choker I am wearing is also included, and it has a built in resize script so you can adjust if need be. Included but not shown are matching rose boots, unrigged so they are not fitted to any particular brand of foot. All in all, this is a very generous prize for just a single linden dollar.

My final look of the evening is from Auradocious Boutique, their ::AU:: Severina Outfit which is hiding inside a black rose just like the other prizes. It starts with the dress, in fitmesh standard sizes plus Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique versions. Then they generously added the matching boots in Maitreya and Slink Mid sizing, and the charming parasol with built in hold pose. I love the combination of purple and black, so the dress certainly caught my eye because of that, and the little frills and bows really reeled me in. The texture is like a damask pattern but with skulls in the center, very well themed!

I am still in the midst of a heat wave here, and it looks like it will be here for at least 2 weeks, so I plan on taking lots of cool showers and staying indoors as much as possible during the day. I hope you're all having a peaceful day/evening, many magical magpie hugs to everyone!!

Shop Till You Drop

Hiya everyone! Tonight I am really excited to show you some selections from The Wash Cart Sale, whose spring round theme is simply "Shop Till You Drop!". Dozens of designers have carts loaded with selections from $10L - $50L, including an exclusive offer that you will only find during this round until the 15th of April. I have been a huge fan of this event for most of my SL experience, as it goes back way further than my blogging adventures, so it is a huge honor for me to be a small part of their team :) I also discovered a fun opportunity to claim free gifts, called the Stay At Home Club. A group of generous designers got together and decided to give out gifts to keep us all occupied and looking fashionable while we stay at home in RL. No group is needed, but you can join to be updated on when new gifts are added, and the website is very helpful with links and photos of what gifts are currently being offered. I clicked the apparel button to find all the treats this evening.

Our first stop is the Dark Water Designs cart at The Wash, where I chose two of their lovely Ruffle Dress colors to show you. Mint is on the left, with Rose on the right, and each come in standard mesh sizes plus Freya, Isis, Venus, Legacy, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh body sizing. There is a pair of panties included in each size too, and there is also a HUD with each, 3 textures to choose from in the same pretty hue. Each dress is just $25L, and there are other colors there too so you have lots to choose from. Another cart I always look forward to seeing is from Roped Passions, who were already on my mind lately from visiting their store during the Twisted hunt :) This look is two of their $25L cart offerings called (RP) Vintage Suspender Outfit, with Teal on the left and Red on the right. There are 4 other colors to choose from too, whatever hues tickle your fancy. The outfit is a single mesh piece and comes in 3 classic sizes (S, M, L) along with Freya, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine versions. The link for the mainstore is right here, and the ending credits will whisk you directly to their cart at The Wash.

This is one of the many treats available for the Stay at Home Club, from Faida and called Amanda. It is for the Maitreya mesh body, and includes a notecard telling you how to change colors via chat command menu in local text. You will be typing /3 and one of the 6 colors on that notecard, and the trim stays that lovely gold while the bodice background changes. Just claim the free gift by visiting Faida, no group tag needed.

Normandy is offering a gift to make our time at home more enjoyable too, their Nite Jumper [Stripes]. It is provided in Freya, Hourglass, Legacy, and Maitreya sizes, with a HUD that lets you choose from 22 colors each for the jumper and the border. Mixing and matching the colors is a fun way to come up with new looks, and I am loving the flattering form-fitting design.

For my final look, I visited Paper.Sparrow and picked up their Stay at Home free gift called Moon Alex Top. It has a HUD to choose from a black or white background with all the moon phases pictured on the front, and the flirty top comes in sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Legacy, Legacy Perkier, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine bodies. I added my favorite Delizio marketplace freebie here, their jeans in blue which is one of several colors included as system/BOM layers plus Maitreya and Omega appliers. 

How is everyone holding up? I am doing okay, still trying to shake an intense dream (nightmare?) where the quarantine became more serious and the government was using armed drones to make sure people stayed home. What I have noticed is that my daily routine usually takes place here in my home, so that hasn't changed much for me, but my worry for other people has increased considerably. I guess I'm lucky in some ways and unlucky in others, pretty average. I enjoyed reading about a friend who has a cupcake shop and did no-contact deliveries of free cupcakes and coffee to first responders :) They deserve our deepest gratitude, that's for sure, and her gesture probably brought some smiles to people who need them most. I am trying to hold onto any happy thought I can, so that is one for tonight. I hope you're all having a safe and peaceful day/evening, many magical magpie hugs to everyone!!

Advent Presents

Hiya everyone! Welcome to a special Sunday morning edition of the blog, where Midnight Magpie changes her time schedule to bring you some Advent calendar gifts with as much time to claim them as possible. Most of these are only available for one day, so time is of the essence. I am focusing on gifts from calendars that either need a free group tag to claim, or no particular tag/group at all. All are free except one that is a mere linden, so easy to fit into even the tightest seasonal budget. I am a firm believer that we all deserve to treat ourselves from time to time.

For my first look of the day I was able to pair two different Advent gifts very nicely. The top is from -[ vagrant ]- and is called Piper Shirt - Gold - 22. It comes in Legacy and Maitreya mesh body sizes, and is a really unique style that caught my eye. As for my oh-so-flattering jeans, they are from the Advent calendar at Mishmash Fusion which is free and open to all. Baci is offering a wrapped sweater dress and a dashing hat as their daily Advent gift, just for clicking their board (no group needed) today. It is called Warm Sammy, and the dress comes in sizes for standard, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and TMP. There is also a HUD that offers 5 textures that you can then tint in your choice of 18 colors from the buttons beneath. The hat is unrigged so it can be adjusted if necessary.

Dark Water Designs is partnered with Dark Knight Decor to provide a twelve days of Christmas advent calendar, free to all with no group tag needed. There are mens and womens fashion for some days, decor for others, and as you can see today is a clothing day :) This is their DWD Winter Melon Yukata, a classically styled Asian outfit in appealing colors. Their group is not free to join, so I am showing you the gift from the non-group member calendar today :) All are $1L per gift, a remarkable savings for these lovely treats. This is the *WW* Red Snowflake Mini Dress, with a flirty style featuring a short fluttery hemline and darker red straps that go around the neck to form a T-strap in the back. I have been at this computer for about 14 hours with just a few very brief breaks, so I am certainly feeling it now. There was a hockey game that had me screaming like a banshee whenever someone from the other team got a bit too rough with my favorite player who is freshly healed from a concussion caused by last night's opponents in their last meeting, I can only imagine what the neighbors think ;) I am old enough to be most of our player's moms, so I think that brings out a mama bear instinct lately. Since I blogged this morning I will not be doing so tonight, but will be back tomorrow evening with a final post before Christmas arrives. Then another day off, then back to my typical schedule of blogging most evenings. I have enjoyed doing the Advent posts, but now must focus on things like cooking for my Christmas Eve family gathering. It is a wonderful but stressful time of year. Hiya everyone! Tonight I have some exciting things to show you, starting with the new round of The Wash Cart Sale. Its theme is Crisp N Cool, so you can expect to find plenty of selections just right for autumn and into winter. Each cart offers $10L - $25L items as well as an optional $50L special offer, and many are providing gifts for free or just a single linden. The savings are so impressive, which is a huge benefit of cart sales, in addition to all those talented designers in one location. On the left I am wearing the Fall Plaid Dress in Pink, which is one of several color choices for $10L each and they all include eBody, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique sizing. On the right is the cozy Fall Cream Outfit, one of their $25L selections. The top and pants are each provided in fitmesh standard sizes along with versions for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique bodies. Now we focus on Hocus Pocus ;) This dazzling dress is the gift from [Ari-Pari] called Ghostly Sparkle, and it even includes the dainty ghost necklace I am wearing. The dress comes in Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique sizing, and the HUD provided offers 10 colors each for the dress and the necklace with silver or gold options for the necklace's chain. This gift really caught my eye, and the green is so bright it practically glows. Try it in red for a Jessica Rabbit look :)

Another flirty gift you can win just by saying Hocus Pocus is this Stitched Apart - Juicy Dress, which it just occurred to me is probably named for its Beetlejuice stripes :) It includes sizes for Freya, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique, with a HUD to let you choose from 3 accent colors for those straps and front swirl. The straps at the hem look to be garters, so you can add your favorite thigh high stockings to complete the look if you wish.

My final look of the evening is the Hocus Pocus gift from Pink Cream Pie, their !PCP Brandi Sweater [Pink Skulls]. It has a loose turtleneck style and great texture, with narrow vertical stripes decorated with skulls, spiders, and butterflies in black and pink. It comes in Freya, Hourglass, and Maitreya sizes, and I am wearing it with the Delizio jeans gift from the marketplace that appear here quite often. These are the black pair but there are several other colors too, in system layers (BOM) and appliers for Maitreya and Omega.

I feel like I am moving in slow motion tonight, so I apologize for running late with this post. I try to be consistent, but I had a lot of distractions tonight that took me away from the computer or just made it impossible to focus appropriately. Tomorrow I am going to the farmers market I usually attend on Saturdays, where they are offering 3 different kinds of grilled cheeses and even a four-cheese macaroni & cheese for lunch. My favorite is the one with a cheese called Vampire Slayer, loaded with garlic and herbs that taste delicious melted and gooey. Mmm!
