Holiday Shop & Hop

 Hiya everyone! Tonight it's time to get our shop on, with the annual Holiday Shop & Hop event :) There are 18 regions filled with 360 stores, and a gift for everyone available at each stop. As usual, I'm sharing one region at a time and tonight it's the Dahlia that was randomly selected. I'm also going to suggest another tradition from the past several S&H rounds, the amazing FabFree spreadsheet that has all the info about these gifts and can be sorted by type, store name, etc. by the tabs on the bottom. I am so grateful to their team for keeping this going and helping us keep track of any gifts we may have missed, and it helps me to be able to tell Xan about the male or unisex gifts he might be interested in. The shopping party has been open for a few days and continues until the 4th of January.

My first look is the stunning Son'a-Edge Regal Festive Dress - Gift. It is a great choice for this time of year because of the colors, and it is extremely versatile as well. That's because there is a HUD that offers 16 gemstone colors (seen as white across the neckline on the left above) as well as on/off options for the glow, sequins, bright, sleeves, ruffles, sparkles, and light. The dress comes in sizes for Kupra, Lara X, Legacy, and Reborn mesh bodies. On the right I've switched off our sleeves and the sequins, and it almost looks like an entirely new dress :) Imagine turning off the ruffles too, which are our neck strap, and you'd have a strapless gown that is truly festive just as the name says.

Another glamorous gift is our .:{Sofia}:. Gift Raindrops Gown Dress. Gold. With its strapless embroidered bodice and full satin skirt, it glimmers with tiny beads dripping down the skirt to really catch our attention. We receive sizes for Erika, Gen X Curvy, Kupra, Lara X, Legacy, and Reborn mesh bodies, along with a single size white fur jacket. It will look just as pretty if you slip out of the jacket when you arrive at your destination of course, just make sure your fans get a glimpse of you wearing it both ways ;)

Next we head in a more casual direction with the ***Ambrosia***Nordic Knit Dress gift. The name describes the texture quite well, and I'm loving the red and white combo for this time of year :) Our snug sweater dress fits Lara X, Legacy, and Reborn mesh bodies. The short hemline and short sleeves give it a less bundled up vibe, and a more flirtatious feeling.

WZRWRKS has a jaw-dropping tee for us called [WAZ] Scoop-Neck Crop Top as their gift for the event, and there is a (less busty LOL) shirt for the men as well. This cutie includes sizing for Lara X, Legacy, Reborn, and Waifu, with alpha layers in case parts of you decide not to stay inside the shirt. I did have two very specific little parts that made the alpha layer handy, and yes you are probably guessing correctly. I think the holiday decorations also really help make this a fun treat. 

For my final look tonight, we have a closeup view of the Nives: Leya Bento Long Stiletto Mesh Nails 2K gift. If you like your manicure to be long and slender, and decorated for winter, these are the ones for you! There are sizes for BBL, Belleza, Belleza Gen X Curvy, eBody Reborn, Erika, Kupra/Kups, Legacy, Maitreya, and Slink hands; just use the body's HUD to hide its built in nails, and add the matching size from the folder. Voila, you have lovely new claws :) This made me think of a video I saw recently of a woman with similar nails whose cat was very slowly extending its claws and then slowly retracting them, trying to teach her how to put her talons away, LOL! Poor thing was so confused, probably wondering why its human was so bad at being a cat. My RL nails are nowhere near this long and rounded rather than pointy, but I do wonder if a cat would think I forgot how to retract them too now.

My anxiety made my outing fairly challenging, but I got to a store and back safely so I am counting it as a win. We went a back way which is bumpy and winding, so that was a big part of the problem. Taking the main roads home helped a little, although the traffic increased so that made it challenging too. I did pick out some treats to reward myself for getting there, lol, and I took a nap after dinner which was soothing. I'm so behind on Advent stuff now though, for the past few days I've just shoved them in a folder 'to sort' so that is a goal for the weekend if not sooner. Meanwhile I've got several more regions of S&H to visit, and other events and hunts, so I am a busy little magpie :) I hope you're all having a terrific day/evening, many magical magpie hugs to everyone!!

Poppy Shop and Hoppy

 Hiya everyone! Tonight it's time to visit the Poppy region of the Halloween Shop & Hop event, which appeals to my shopaholic side and my gift-loving nature. There are 18 regions packed with designers' displays, each with discounted offerings and a gift or two for us to enjoy. The FabFree team has worked hard as usual to provide us a spreadsheet of gifts, which you can view sorted by type, store name, etc. with the tabs at the bottom. I'm always grateful because that ensures I didn't miss any gifts, and I can steer Xan towards the male gifts and unisex ones that may catch his attention :) The event area is seasonally decorated quite nicely, and we have until just past Halloween (November 2nd) to explore and shop.

First up, I slipped into the striking Son!a-Edge Kenya Dress Witch gift, one of a few they are offering in their setup. The gown has an attached cape and is studded with gems down the sides, and is provided in sizing for Khara, Legacy, Maitreya, Reborn, Juicy, and Waifu mesh bodies. We also receive a HUD which offers 16 colors for the gems, on/off options for the cape, sheer skirt, gems glow, materials, gems bright, and a sheer/solid choice for the cape. I've got the cape solid on the left and sheer on the right, so you could see the fun straps in the back easier through it :) The Maitreya fits my Lara X body fairly well, other than a bit of clipping on the back of the hips which was instantly resolved with the alpha layer included with the dress.

Our BlueMoon enterprise gift, BMe Drusilla Halloween Gown, is also very elegant with a touch of spookiness that suits the season wonderfully. The gown has shoulder straps adorned with a high collar, long sheer sleeves with slits, deep V neckline laced very loosely, and a dramatic slit on the left thigh. Those deep red and black stripes are simply stunning, aren't they? This treat comes in Lara X and Reborn mesh body sizing.

Do you need even more elegance in your life? If so, be sure to visit .:{Sofia}:. and pick up their gorgeous Titania Gown Dress Blood V.2 gift. This seductive satin gown has a ruched bodice topped with a large black bow, and the swirl of skirt is opened on the right to reveal a black inner lining (plus a whole lot of leg!). There are sizes for Erika, Freya, Gen X Classic, Gen X Curvy, Kupra, Legacy, Maitreya, Lara X, Reborn, Juicy, Waifu, and Slink Hourglass mesh bodies provided, along with a pair of black earrings to really complete the look in style.

You know I am a casual gal at heart, at least most of the time in SL, so naturally I adore the GoodVibes HER Creeping it Real gift too :) The cropped sweater is decorated with a seasonal spider wearing a jack o'lantern, and its fuzzy legs seem to be more numerous than usual as I think I counted 14 of them! It does say CREEPING IT REAL above and beneath the spider, and I think the jack o'lantern goes perfectly with the images on the pants. Our gift includes the sweater and pants in sizing for Lara X, Petite X, Legacy, Reborn, Waifu, and Star mesh bodies, plus matching heels to fit Lara X, Legacy, Reborn, and Star feet. There is a men's gift here too, similar in theme, so tell a guy friend :) 

My final look this evening is a closer view of my nails for the night, our BLOOM - BLACK RIBBON NAILS [CUTE SQUARE] gift. They are ideal for those who love the look of a manicure but do not want an extra long or pointed style. These have a sheer black base with tiny dark polka dots, then the free edge is deepened with a solid black that almost mimics a French mani style. To wear these, please use your body's HUD to hide its built in nails and add either the eBody, Legacy, or Maitreya size nails from your new gift's folder. Chef's kiss!

It was a quiet day, but that is for the best since tomorrow I'm making a huge attempt to go further than I've been in over 2 years. The anxiety might not always play nicely, but I'm trying to kickstart things in the proper direction for healing. Jubilant at Shop & Hop

 Hiya everyone! Tonight's visit to the Valentine Shop & Hop features gifts found in the Jubilant region, one of 14 with 280 wonderful designers offering special sales and presents for visitors. I had a lot of fun just exploring in a giant loop, over the course of 2 days, which I do in the wee hours of the morning when the crowds are smaller. We have until the 19th to enjoy this event, so be sure to grab your demos and window shop this week so you can have your final purchases and open all these terrific gifts before the event winds down. There are many Valentine themed items, but you can find plenty that aren't...so even if you are not in a romantic mood this year, it should still be worthwhile to explore here.

My first look this evening is the two gifts from Son!a-Edge combined. The gorgeous gown is Relia formal Dress and the headpiece is our Val Crown (Gift). The dress comes in Kupra Bimbo, Kupra Original, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, and Petite bodies, with a versatile HUD with gobs of options like 13 colors for the chain in the front, lighting to show off the sequins in the texture, ability to turn the sequins on or off, show or hide the strap in the back, brightness, glow, and more. The crown is adjustable and matches the dress beautifully, although you could wear it with plenty of other looks if you wish. 

Next I changed into the lovely *Arcane Spellcaster* Dress Dyana Valentine, an exclusive creation for this event's gift. There are sizes for Legacy and Maitreya mesh bodies offered, and the dress has a creative design with tube top and single long sleeve, exposed midriff and very short diagonal hemline. The soft yellow color is unexpected for a Valentine print of variously hued hearts, very pretty!

I noticed that ZFG has two different gifts for us, depending on our mood :) On the left I'm wearing their ANTI-CUPID FATPACK and the ANTI-CUPID FATPACK is on the right. The Anti version has a broken nail-studded heart that says "Love Sucks" on it, and large broken hearts in shadow on the t-shirt dress itself. The Cupid version has "Beautiful" written across the main heart in lovely script, and solid hearts dotted across it. Each has an unpacker HUD so you only have to open the size/s you wish, out of Kupra, Kups, Legacy, Maitreya, and Reborn options. The size button you choose is delivered with a HUD of 24 colors to select from, so I went with a couple of non-traditional picks for this time of year. Believe me, you'll see enough red and pink on here this month ;)

I also found a fantastic gift from Omnia, their Lucia Dress FatPack. It includes a HUD with 10 colors of the heart-adorned pattern, and sizes for Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, and Petite mesh bodies. I'd like to point out that the HUD is no copy, so it will not deliver from the package if it's attached to you. So please rez it out and open it the traditional way to make sure you get that color HUD :) Any time an unpacking HUD is no-copy, I add it then right click - edit - and click the contents tab to see if something inside is also no-copy, meaning it must be unpacked manually. The high-low hem and keyhole opening of the bodice are extra special touches, aren't they?

My final look this evening is the .Q. Premium -FATPACK- gift from QUEENZ. Its bra top and leggings are each provided in GenX Curvy, Kupra, Legacy, Maitreya, and Reborn sizing, with a HUD that lets us choose from 11 textures for each. There are solids and patterns among those choices, so I had some fun mixing and matching. The bottom band of the top and the waistband of the leggings have golden embossing of a Greek key pattern and a cameo in the middle that looks like a woman wearing a crown, so probably the QUEENZ logo. I also think of it as a reminder that we are all worthy of being treated like royalty.

Halcyon Days at SL19B

 Hiya everyone! Tonight it is time to visit the Halcyon region at the SL19B Shop and Hop event, which is a celebration of the 19th birthday of our beloved Second Life. The SL destination guide will help you where else to explore during these final days, and it has links to all 20 of the shopping regions if you haven't visited all of them yet. There are 20 designer displays per region so that is 400 creators offering exclusive items, discounted sales, and of course free gifts. The general theme is Steampunk, so the regions are decorated accordingly and are a visual treat to go with the gift treats :)

First this evening, I slipped into a charming ruched floral dress from [4U] which is their UNDERWATER Collection ~ 008 gift. There are sizes for Freya, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, and Petite bodies included in this gift, all decorated with blossoms in various shades of pink on a sage green background. I definitely like this as a summer look!

In a striking nod to the steampunk theme, this is the >>GothiCatz<< SL19BGirl - minidress which is one of two gifts available at their display. The other is for the guys, so be sure to bring anyone who wears a male avatar as well :) This halter mini has tiers of ruffles alternated in black and plaid, with gears and the word PUNK on the upper bodice. It comes in fitmesh standard sizes along with Freya, Isis, Venus, Kupra, Legacy, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine mesh body versions. 

I had a lot of fun with the HUD for this next gift, the JUSTINE dress from AlaFolie. The bare shouldered formfitting dress has a playful ruffle across the top, so it will highlight your favorite choker or bold earrings if you wish to accessorize. The dress fits Legacy, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and Tonic Fine mesh bodies, and the texture HUD has 4 vibrant options like the two seen above. 

We are certain to turn heads in this Son!a-Edge gift called Petra Dress. It has the appearance of two pieces but wears as one, in sizes for Freya Perky, Isis Perky, Legacy, Legacy Perky, Maitreya, and Petite bodies. It is adorned with gold beading, lace trim at the lower hem, and 3D flowers down each hip. So detailed and gorgeous! I love the color, and I am pretty sure this is a materials enabled creation that will need your viewer to be set for advanced lighting so you can see gold reflections on the fabric. 

My final look of the evening is the flirty .HS. Annie Dress - Shop & Hop Exclusive Gift by Hot Stuff. There are Erika, Kupra, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, Petite, and Reborn body sizes, and our gift also includes a HUD with 6 dress textures and 6 coordinated colors for the trim. The patterns have a similar color set but very different styles, like the cheery rainbows on the left and the stripes on the right. The hem is extra short, and the hips have scooped cutouts so this is a bold look for when you want a revealing dress. 

I am 100% ready for this weekend to begin! My houseguest just arrived, and we have exciting plans that include an upgrade for my PC. It'll be getting a new solid state hard drive, and I am not sure what else because I don't speak 'tech' ;) It has been getting slower and slower lately, particularly from photoshop and SL, so it is simply time to enhance it wherever possible. Happy New Year

 Hiya everyone! Tonight we are visiting the Shop & Hop winter shopping event once again, this time the Snowflake sim/region which is one of 9 that you can explore until the 3rd of January to find discounted offers plus lots of free gifts. There is a lot to see here, and I have randomly selected gifts to show you to give you an idea of the many possibilities. I am also very excited to be moving on from 2020 and am moving into the new year with optimism and good wishes to all.

My first look of the night is an ideal representation of the name of the sim it's found on! It is the Secrets of Gaia gift called SoG Damia Gown Snowflake LE ~Silver~, and it comes in sizing for Freya, Isis, Venus, Legacy, Legacy Perky, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique bodies. The styling is so elegant, with its daring leg slit and bare back with ties gently draped down the center. 

Next we visit [The Forge] and have a look at one of their gifts for us called Candice Bodice, Cream. It actually consists of the bodice and matching shorts, each in Legacy and Maitreya sizes. I was drawn to the simple yet lovely satin texture, and the front pocket detail of the shorts. I am also pleased to show you the gift from Stardust called Mochiyuki - Blue Tattoo Gift. That would be the very pretty dusting of bright blue snowflakes from the nape of my neck to between my shoulderblades, included in system/BOM layers plus Omega appliers in 50%, 75%, and 100% opacity. This allows you to choose the brightness you desire, if you want a more faded look or a fresh pop of color.

Another gift from [The Forge] is their alluring Xandra Bodice, Red which is more of a bodysuit in my opinion :) It also comes in Legacy and Maitreya sizes, with lots of straps and cutouts that reveal plenty of skin while hiding just the right places. The deep shade of red is a classic for any time of year.

Here I slipped back into the shorts from photo #2, the Candice gift from The Forge, to show you two terrific tops. (Sorry I did things out of order, I have been a bit distracted....) On the left I am still chuckling at the Stories&Co. Mitch Tank Top - Merry, which clearly says Let It Snow, right? ;) Claim this gift and you'll receive sizes for Freya, Legacy, Legacy Perky, Maitreya, Maitreya Flat, Maitreya Petite, Hourglass Petite, and Physique Petite bodies. There is also a HUD for solid, sheer, or worn transparency levels, so give them each a click to try them out. That is a gorgeous color, and the open neckline really draws attention too. 

For my final look of the evening, I would like to dazzle you with the gift from Son!a-Edge named Dubai Long Dress Xmas. It is a very detailed gown with lots of options, thanks to the materials HUD that offers 6 metal colors and on/off for the lace (bra cups), roses, and sheer skirt. I turned the sheer skirt off for the right side of this image so you could get an idea of what that looks like, and you can see the way the light reflects like sequins all over this beauty. It is provided in sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh bodies. 

Whew, what a day! I had dinner at my parents' and we discussed last night's news (death of my ex-husband) among other things, then home where I have been hearing fireworks off and on for several hours. I know the new year won't be instantly perfect or even that much better right away, but I have to believe that as it unfolds it will slowly improve over what 2020 was. SL17B Gift Boardwalk

Hiya everyone! Tonight I am pleased to show you a small sample of the many gifts available at the SL17B Gift Boardwalk. In the past few posts I was sharing gifts found on various sims of the SL17B Shop and Hop event, and this is a separate area featuring entirely free treats from many designers. Some gifts are only available at Shop and Hop, others only at the Boardwalk, and yet others can be found at both it seems. Because of this, I do suggest visiting all potential gift sources if you can for maximum variety. 

The first gift I randomly chose to share is one of several from ART & FASHION, who had about 8 presents all at different displays. This is their Siren Mini Dress, a vibrant light green dress with the image of a mermaid on the front, with slits on each thigh and one to reveal some cleavage. The gift includes sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine mesh bodies.

Another irresistible gift from ART & FASHION can be seen here, their Ethnic Midi Dress. It includes fitmesh standard sizes along with Belleza, Maitreya, and Slink versions, and is a very shapely seamed style with that beautiful bold pattern to really catch the eye.

I just realized that each of the 3 gifts from ART & FASHION I chose to show you have increasingly longer hems, as I slipped next into their Vintage Spring Gown. It is long enough to have a slight train, and a cowl gathering beneath the bared upper back. I really enjoy the brushstroke look of the flowers on the front, one of whose petals even reaches around the bodice to the back. This gift includes standard fitmesh sizes plus Belleza, Maitreya, and Slink versions.

Speaking of gowns, this is the Blue Rose Creations Geometric Gown Gift, one of two presents on the boardwalk from Blue Rose Creations. The striking design makes this gown, which is fitted for the Maitreya mesh body, particularly flattering with its solid black sides. It feels both modern and classic at the same time somehow, and I am a fan :)

The long gown comes in Freya Perky, Isis Perky, Legacy, Legacy Perky, Hourglass, and Maitreya sizing. The choker is a separate attachment so you can wear with or without, and just wait until you see the included HUD. It offers so many ways to customize the look...you can show/hide the sleeves, choose from 2 metals for the eyelets, turn the glow on/off, turn the bright on/off, show/hide the flowers along the neckline, turn the light on/off, hide or show the sequins, and choose from 2 colors for the lace. (If you find yourself confused, just wear the dress and try the HUD options until you like what you see!) This dress will require you to have advanced lighting in your SL viewer since it is materials enabled, and the glittery sequins dancing across the skirt have to be seen in person to be fully appreciated. 

Somehow I got off to a slow start this evening and am running much later than I wanted to be, but everything is fine other than lots of little distractions :) My appointment went well, and I am looking forward to staying home tomorrow.
