Hiya everyone! We have a few more prizes to see tonight from the Steam XII Hunt, whose theme is From Earth to the Moon, a Jules Verne novel from 1864 when traveling to the moon was still over a century away from reality. I find it fascinating how people including Verne had dreamed of it and came up with intensely detailed ideas of how to accomplish such a feat back then! The creators taking part in this hunt have come up with some fascinating takes on the theme, using an alternate timeline (as I believe Steampunk generally does) for the Victorian era, or simply helping us see how they envision space travel and the like. As I mentioned last night, this hunt consists of seeking out hidden gears (I have also been calling them either cogs or sprockets in my head) in a silvery shade this round, by following the hint from the sign at each store. Some locations have set out a path of footprints, they are tan with a gear pattern and very helpful for large stores or ones with multiple buildings. Just click each gear when you find it and you will receive a folder with the prize and next landmark, all for free.
I am a huge Harry Potter fan, so this prize from Inara's Fantasy made me smile, if a bit confusedly. It is called Steampunk Outfit, and comes in small, medium, and large mesh sizes with the tie as a separate attachment that you can click to change colors. There are actually 3 distinct zones to click, and all 4 Hogwarts houses are represented in the colors (I am randomly rocking Ravenclaw blue here, tend to get sorted there or Gryffindor) and I noticed the Hogwarts crest right away. This can suit either fandom or a blending of the two.
This next prize had me feeling very wistful, pondering the beauty of vintage clothing. It is the female gift from Curious Seamstress (there was a notecard inside asking the men to message her to receive the mens' prize when it is ready) and is called 1860's Female Gown. The details are impressive, with system layers and a few useful Omega HUDs for evening gown, day blouse, and day gown (shown) plus undergarments. The skirt has 3 layers, all of which are worn above, plus the sash which can be modified, the bow you see at the neckline, even 2 sun hats which are the Autumn Roses version shown and a plain edition. Not shown since they are system layers only, gloves in black or white or apricot, and a jacket layer with lace cuffs as attachments. This is one impressive ensemble :)
Next we blast off to Tayren's Fantasy Fashions, where you will find this TFF Space Girl - Retro Sci Fi Suit as well as a mens' version in their gear. The body suit is mesh in standard sizes, and also included are the helmet, ray guns in a hip version and the held one to shoot in mouselook (I am wearing both here), belt with resize script, resizeable boots, and back rockets you can click to turn the pink flames on and off. Not shown but also included, hair and gloves to complete the look. This is certainly a fun costume for roleplay or just random adventures.
Once I was certain I was safe in this atmosphere, I removed the helmet and put away my ray gun to check out this lovely telescope from Fairey Angel Creations. Our hunt prize had a land impact of just 6, and there is a single pose plus a couples pose built in so you can admire the stars alone or together. It is very detailed, lots of bright brass holding together the rich wooden components and of course the lenses.

Hiya everyone! Weekends in SL can be busy but we certainly deserve to look our best, and a great way to do so is to visit the Wash Cart Sale for their current round and its Indian Summer theme. Most of the items are $10L, with each designer having the option to also offer a special $50L item. These are truly impressive selections, being offered for just 2 weeks at a mere fraction of their full value. Another fun activity for weekends or any time you have some spare time inworld is gridwide hunting, and my latest hunt path has been the Renaissance VI Hunt. I have some gorgeous goodies from each to show you tonight, enjoy!
First we have two selections from one of the carts for K&A Designs (they have two, right next to each other) perfectly coordinated in amazing colors. The dress is called SoftRose Dress and comes in 9 fitmesh sizes including Belleza, Maitreya, Slink, and TMP versions. The adorable matching SoftRose Sandles are for Slink flat feet and I love the way the flowers adorning it tie in with the delicate pattern in the bodice of the dress. Another fun cart sale find is this playful set from Emerald Couture, called Rock The Rabbit Black N White. For just $10L, it includes the mesh top (with those adorable long bunny ears hanging from the hood!) in 6 sizes, system pants with an Omega applier, and the sassy boots that work with Slink high feet or you can alpha out your default system feet. The rocker rabbit image on the top made me smile, and those shiny stiletto boots are so sexy! Their main store can be found here, and the cart link is in the credits below as usual.
Along the hunt trail, I visited Hig's and was delighted to find this elegant Renaissance Lady in Rust as the female prize (yes, there is also a great prize for the gents) inside #031. Isn't that high collar stunning? This gown comes in standard mesh sizes, and is well suited for roleplay but certainly not limited to it by any means.
This next prize from Inaras Fantasy Couture captivated me as well, reflecting a less formal but no less striking style of the times. This is Inara's Germanic Beauty, which certainly lives up to the name, and is included in standard mesh sizes plus a fitted version. That embroidered trim and the colors really caught my eye, and I do have some German heritage so there is an appeal there as well. Just find that little gargoyle at #038 and you can claim this for yourself too.
It has been a very enjoyable day here, still quite warm and filled with good food and even better company at the farmers market. They are preparing for Oktoberfest next week (yes, I know it won't be October yet, but the baker from Germany explained that it's a festival lasting a few weeks there and does in fact start this month not next) so that is something else I get to look forward to :) I hope you're all having a wonderful weekend, magical magpie hugs to everyone!!

My first look from the cart sale is two of the stunning summery dresses from the Battle Fairy cart, along with two pairs of the charming shoes they are offering there as well. The dress on the left is Splash of Color Green, on the right is Splash of Color Pink, and there are 3 other colors available on the cart, each in standard mesh sizes. The shoes are Anis Heels Green on the left, Yellow on the right (looks great with the sunflowers in the dress pattern) and each are provided for Slink, Maitreya, and Belleza versions with two different heel textures included (regular on the left, wood on the right), just $10L per set and $10L per dress color. Another cart you don't want to miss is Lavian&CO, well actually their three designers each have their own carts :) This is one of the many terrific offerings by SamJones, her Lady Cab Driver 1 outfit. It consists of the denim skirt in standard sizes, and the versatile sexy top in several sizes including 5 standard, 5 fitmesh, Hourglass, Lara, and Slink versions. The best part of all is the HUD which features 32 colors for each the top and the belt, so you can mix and match as you please. Heading down the Silk Road path to Xanadu, this gown is the stunning gift from Inara's Fantasy Couture. It is provided in standard mesh sizes, and is exquisitely detailed. I accessorized it with the prize from Never Ever, which is this lovely necklace containing a resize script and included in male and female versions. The pendant part has a subtle animation to it, like a banner waving in a gentle breeze.
I also felt very regal in the prize from Suki's Silken Fashions, which is called The Lady of The Pearl. Find that pyramid and you will receive the off-the-shoulder gown in 7 mesh sizes, plus the pearl headband, necklace, shoes for default avatar feet, stockings and undergarments in system layers, and the ship in a bottle I am wearing on the left above. There is a very handsome mens' prize provided as well, as with many of these hunt prizes, so your favorite male avatars can enjoy too.
One last look for the night, I cannot resist sharing a great set of nails :) Tonight I have been enjoying another Cart Sale offering from Rad Designs, this being their Scratched Heart Royal with a HUD compatible with Slink, Omega, and Maitreya. There are 6 rich colors, each with a subtle rainbow heart etched into the center of the nail.

As you can tell by now from my past several posts, the Spring Freshness part of my title refers to the current round of the Wash Cart Sale, which wraps up on the 30th so you have a few days yet to visit if you haven't done so yet. As for the steamy part, well that is because I am showing a couple of free prizes from the Steam XI Hunt, a gridwide hunt with the theme Realms of the Deep. It does end in a few days, end of the month like the cart sale, so you will want to hurry if you are interested. Lots of fun nautical steampunk items can be found, mostly home decor.
I definitely look like I was caught twirling around in this lovely dress from Loordes of London, one of their terrific Cart Sale options. This is The Victorian Standard #20 and I am delighting in the details like the rich colors and that shiny attached belt. It reminds me of a kilt, and at $10L is quite a deal. We now head to ancient Greece, by way of the Anachron cart at the Cart Sale. This stunning chiton is the Women's Homeward Star Chiton and can be found there in several variations for just $10L each. On the left you can see it in Virgo, and on the left is Pegasus. This actually made me realize that my avi's rezday would make her zodiac sign Virgo, so it is extra appropriate for me to choose that one :) Be sure to visit their cart and pick your favorite color combinations. Another don't-miss cart is DemotiK, with several bargains available including the Beaded Sateen Mini Dress in 4 different colors. Above you can see the Copper on the left, and the Teal on the right. And now for some steamy goodness, we have prize #021 from Steam XI courtesy of Inara's Fantasy Couture. Their delightful Inara's Steampunk Cutie immediately made me smile, with the fun details and earthy colors. Find their aqua colored cog and you will receive this in standard mesh sizes.
My final look of the evening is another Steam XI prize, this time from Sparrow by Design who are #040 in the hunt path. This is their cute Mrs Kraken Dress, with another appealing use of suspenders and skirt. This has the delicate bow tie attached and some great button work, and comes in standard sizes.
My post tomorrow may be late and/or much shorter than usual, as my day will involve an earlier start than normal and a bit of travel to get to see my family. Hiya everyone! I still feel like I have been traveling back through time, visiting so many lovely stores from The Renaissance Hunt V and admiring the designers' creativity. Not just the prizes, but the stores themselves can be visual feasts that show off their personal styles. I found some terrific prizes to share tonight, hope you enjoy!
The prize from Feyline Fashions (#046) made me feel very elegant, and particularly with all the added touches of accessories. The outfit is named Lady Francise, and includes the system layer shirt and pants, flexi skirt and sleeves, separate train so you can go with or without, the lovely necklace, and the Hennin hat. There are even slippers, not shown but included. I have been doing some googling, and red in that era signified royalty and high social status which explains why it has been featured in so many of the prizes :)
For something more down to earth, we have the lovely prize #066 from COVETED! With its underbust corset and off the shoulder styling, this dress called Sami Corseted Dress is a perfect choice for roleplaying as a pretty peasant or simply giving off a boho vibe. Come to think of it, I think Cinderella probably dressed this way before meeting her prince.
Rainy Fey Creations has provided this amazing Eliquorn Gown as prize #071, and included a note saying that it is a fantasy gown rather than strictly Renaissance but can be worn without the horn and with a different skirt to be more accurate. Personally I like it this way! It includes a system layer bodice and sleeve ends (glove layer), the sleeve puffs, the mesh skirt in standard sizes, and that intriguing unicorn horn which is glowing so enchantingly on my brow. There is an Omega applier for the bodice, and I am only now realizing that Slink parts were recently updated to be compatible with Omega appliers so I think I might have actually been able to use that Omega applier...oh dear, sorry about that, I know my wrists are looking a bit rough.
Another regal red delight, this gown is from Inaras Fantasy Couture and is #073. It actually is named Renaissance Royalty Gown, and how amazing is that texturing? It looks like we could feel the embroidery if we were to touch it, and I am soooo fond of those pointed sleeves that add flair without being intrusive. This beauty is provided in standard mesh sizes, so you should find a beautiful fit without any hassle.
Nail note of the night: I went with a previous group gift from PS Nails called Art Deco Deep Set, which comes with 4 colors for Slink fingers and toes. There is a subtle texture to them, but it's still pretty much a solid color and I figured less is more for historical purposes. I'm not trying to be strictly accurate, but this just felt right. Their group is free to join, and with the tag you can click both Midnight Manias, a mini mania, and a raffle board to win $200L. There is also a lucky board if you look along the same wall as the entrance door, above the plantpets boxes. Good luck!!
I am having one of those days where RL is trying to take over all of my SL time with mundane household chores like grocery lists, so I will delight in the alternate reality of SL later :) No groceries, no laundry, we get to enjoy what we choose and mainly because we have chosen it.
