Morning Magpie

 Hiya everyone and welcome to another morning post, featuring Advent calendar gifts from several generous designers. Some need a free group tag to claim, while others are available to all regardless of group tag. Don't worry, I will make it clear in each description which is the case :) The sun isn't even up here yet, although it may be by the time I finish all this typing. It might even snow a little bit in the next couple of hours, but just a quick flurry that shouldn't leave anything on the ground. Are you ready to visit some Advent calendars? I sure was!

This first Advent treat is from the calendar at M&M STYLE, and when we click the current date it tells us in local chat that it is set to UTC time rather than SL time so I think you need to get there 8 hours sooner than other calendars to claim this date's gift. If you read this too late, please don't worry as you will receive a different terrific gift instead of ELIANA I am showing you :) I did not need a specific group tag active to claim her, and she is provided in 3 standard sizes (S,M,L) along with Freya, Venus, Maitreya, Ocacin, Hourglass, Physique, and Voluptuous sizing. The flirty halter makes my denim-loving heart very happy.

Next we head to ROA to click today's date on their calendar (no group tag needed) and receive this lovely Reese Dress with HUD. It is provided in standard mesh sizes as well as eBody Classic, eBody Curvy, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine versions. The HUD offers 6 texture choices, just touch the black dot next to the square thumbnail of the one you wish to apply. I must admit, I did not notice what the one on the right above was from the small thumbnail image but when I clicked it, I was thrilled to see pretty birds in various colors!

Grumble's group is currently free to join, which gives you access to gifts and lucky chairs in addition to their Advent calendar. Today's gift is their Fight Sweater, that reads "Fight like a girl" on the pink ribbon between the pink flower and brass knuckles. I have seen this phrase mentioned in reference to breast cancer mostly, but as a general idea I can honestly say that I have been fortunate enough to have a lot of very strong and courageous women in my life to inspire me. We fight for what's right, and for the people we love. Guys, please don't be offended as I have known some really impressive gentlemen too with courage and controlled power. Our sweater comes in Freya, Isis, Venus, Legacy, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh body sizing. I wore it with my go-to Delizio jeans in white, one of several choices in their Marketplace gift that includes system/BOM layers plus appliers for Maitreya and Omega. 

Another group tag change here, as the Advent calendar at Virtue is for their free group members. It is offering us the charming Amira Outfit today, with a floral patterned ruffled halter top and long flowing skirt. They each are provided in sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh bodies. The concept of modest clothing in SL is an intriguing one, and instead of lots of bulky looking layering we have a very attractive skirt set that can appeal to many different tastes, regardless of personal beliefs. 

My final look of the morning comes from Moonstar, their Advent gift for today called Red Tartan Gown. You do not need to be a group member to claim it, just give their board a click on the number 9 today :) This gift includes standard mesh sizes as well as Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique versions. The red and black plaid looks so sharp against the black skirt, and with the matching halter harness and belt attached it is a fascinating way to turn heads at any formal event. 

Because of my usual plans for Friday and Saturday, I am switching back to evening posts for Thursday. I apologize if this is getting confusing, and I hope that you will find time to read my morning posts early enough to take advantage of the limited time Advent calendar treats. Each store is different; some will offer their gifts for $10-50L after the full day they are free, while others simply are not for sale and once the day ends they are gone. Every now and then we find one who will offer them all for free but just release one new one per day, probably catering to those who are not able for whatever reason to log in every single day. Our world is still topsy-turvy, and I appreciate the kindness of each and every designer who is offering an Advent calendar ♥. It gives us something extra to look forward to, and is a good excuse to have fun hopping around the grid visiting the stores. More Gifts from Virtue

Hiya everyone! Tonight I have more generous gifts from Virtue to show you, as I did last night. Their group is free to join, and they have an entire wall upstairs filled with gifts you can claim with that tag active. There are former gifts for other groups (Third Life, MAAM, etc.) that have been changed over to the Virtue group's tag and are still available, so it really is a treasure trove of presents! I even recognized a few prizes from their Free Dove hunt back in the day, as they are a participating designer there and I was a huge fan of the monthly mini hunts at Free Dove. The fashions at Virtue are created with modesty in mind, so they offer an alternative to more revealing clothing for whatever reasons we may wish for such. I crave variety and that is enough of a reason for me :) I hope you enjoy your visit as much as I did.

Let's start this evening with a pair of lovely dresses, both called Virtue Christy Dress. The one on the left is the {Sky} version, with {Olive} on the right, both with delicate flowers adorning the hem and neckline. Each gift includes standard mesh sizes as well as eBody, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and TMP mesh body fits. I really like both colors for spring into summer, such soft hues. 

This elegantly simple column dress is our gift called Virtue Espi Dress Bubblegum, and I am a fan of the bare shoulders for warm weather. The gift includes sizes for eBody, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and even a standard fitted version. The hem reaches below the knee and the high neckline adds modesty, while the sleeveless style balances things nicely.

The colors and cheerful pattern of greenery on the Virtue Spotlight 7.17 Dress certainly caught my eye! It features bell sleeves and a long flared skirt, with square neckline that would show off a necklace beautifully. It comes in standard mesh sizes plus Venus, Maitreya, and Physique mesh body versions.

I also claimed this charming Virtue Heather outfit, a layered top in Brown paired with a long skirt in Light Denim. I'm sure I have mentioned before being a fan of denim, and this shade (like most denims) looks terrific with just about anything, obviously including the caramel colored shirt with striped knit layer above it. Each piece is provided in standard mesh sizing along with eBody, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine versions. I can see myself wearing either piece with other goodies in my wardrobe too, as I do value versatility.

My final look goes formal with the Virtue Dora Dress, yet another generous group gift that was initially a Third Life gift in January 2019 according to the folder name, yet now available to the Virtue group for the same low price of free ;) This sleeveless gown with attached belt is included in standard mesh sizes as well as eBody, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Ocacin, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine versions. I know I called it a belt, but it is almost more like a slender sash with ribbon decorating the front, a delightful touch.

Group Gifts from Virtue

Hiya everyone! Tonight we stop by the Virtue mainstore to enjoy their many free group gifts. There is no fee required to join the group, just have the tag active and click the photos on the wall (upstairs, follow the red arrow/beacon from your map) to receive each generous dress or outfit. This designer aims for modesty in her clothing, and that is not always easy to find in SL so this information can be especially useful to anyone with that particular mindset of wanting less revealing fashions that are still attractive. Personally I lean towards modesty when I am out and about in SL because I tend to be shy, but am not offended by more provocative fashion either. We all have different inclinations for a variety of reasons, and I especially appreciate having lots of options.

My first look this evening shows off two of the bounty of group gifts currently available, as they are different versions of the same style dress. On the left is Virtue Carmen Dress {Blue}, with {Green} on the right, each of which is included in standard mesh sizes plus Venus, Maitreya, and Physique fits. They have built in belts in well coordinated colors, and short sleeved blouses with knee length skirts. I like the patterns on both of these designs, and the colors are nice for this time of year.

This charming sheath dress is the Virtue Magdalena Dress {Blossom} group gift, with what I believe are cherry blossoms accentuated by a slim pink belt. The black fabric background really makes the flowers stand out, just gorgeous! The dress comes in standard mesh sizes as well as versions for eBody, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Ocacin, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine mesh bodies.

I also picked up this stylish gift called Virtue {MAAM Group Gift Aug 19}, but despite the name it is set for the Virtue group so I'm thinking it may have been a previous gift for the other group. There are a few named as such, and I appreciate the chance to pick up former gifts for other groups as well as their own :) This dress with built in cropped short sleeved jacket layer is provided in standard mesh sizes plus Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine mesh body versions.

Next we have a cozy set, the Virtue Caelyn Sweater & Skirt {Heart} in dashing black and red. They are packed separately inside the initial bag, and the sweater includes standard mesh sizes plus Venus, Maitreya, and Physique versions. The skirt has a slightly wider range of sizes, with both standard and sizing for eBody, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine bodies. There are alpha layers included, so you can always use those to adjust your body (they work on mesh bodies too if you have BOM activated) for a suitable fit.

For my final look of the evening, I chose two versions of the same tastefully styled dress called Virtue Agape Dress. I am wearing it in {Coral} on the left, {Pink} to the right, and each comes in standard mesh sizing as well as eBody, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and TMP mesh body sizes. The gently flared sleeves and flared skirt work so well together, especially with the more formfitting bodice to balance things out. 

It was another quiet day here, which I generally do not mind. I have been busy with Animal Crossing things, and planning for the next few days of blogging as well as RL activities. I always try to get my weekend plans solidified as much in advance as possible, so it was a productive evening. Advent Magpie

Hiya everyone! Welcome to this special edition of my blog (Morning Magpie instead of Midnight?) featuring several Advent calendar gifts from all across the grid. These are available only today, which is why this post is arriving so early, and either do not need any particular group tag or they need a group tag that is free to join in order to claim them. One store has both cases at once :) There are dozens and dozens of calendars this year to enjoy, and believe me I am doing just that. It is a pleasure to share some of them with you, even if it means I am a bit sleep-deprived since I believe you all to be worth the effort.

My first look is the Applique` Chic gift for today, the 8th day of Advent, called AC: Festive Flurry Set Green. The hooded sweater is longer in the back than the front, and comes in sizes for eBody, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Ocacin, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine. The coordinated leggings with holiday print is provided in sizes for Freya, Hourglass, Maitreya, and Legacy bodies. There is no group needed to claim these gifts, just purchase the current date's box for $0L. Prior days are available for $10L each, and the boxes are all in a pyramid to resemble a Christmas tree.

Those leggings also came in handy when I wanted to show you this adorable [WellMade] Day #8 Jacket. It includes Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique sizing, with a HUD to let you choose from 3 colors each for the jacket and belt. Since they are the same three hues, you can match them together or mix them up as I have above. You will need the free [WellMade] group tag to claim their daily gifts, and to find their Advent calendar please follow the signs with lit arrows on them to the sign. There are numbered gift tags for each date, just give it a click even though it does not change your cursor to a hand or $ or anything.

Remember I mentioned in the beginning that there is a store with 2 calendars, one public and one for their free group members? Well that would be Emerald Couture, and this lively EC Monochrome Purple dress is from their public calendar. Look at the boxes on the shelves to the right, find #8, and give it a click with no group needed to claim this beauty in 5 classic and 5 fitmesh sizes plus Maitreya and Slink versions. The straps in the back really caught my eye with how unusual they are, and so did all the hues of my favorite color.

The green board to the left is the one for which you will need their free group tag active, and when you click today's date it will give you the playful EC Sending Kisses Red dress. With a sheer midriff and short ruffled skirt, not to mention the dramatic sweetheart neckline accentuated with a bow, this is a fun little dress that is sure to turn heads. Bring Me To Life

Hiya everyone! Tonight I have more Third Life group gifts to share, because I had such a good time yesterday with them and knew there were plenty more for all of you to enjoy. The group has a modest $10L fee to join to keep out spammers, which I do appreciate because group chats and notices should be a safe place. You can have a peek at their website for information about gifts, sales, and lots more. 

My first look is the fantastic gift from Fatal Fashion, their Outfit 041 which includes clothing and accessories :) The dress comes in sizes for eBody, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine, while the heels are in Belleza, Maitreya, Slink, and Tonic sizing. The gift also includes the matching earrings and necklace shown, for a complete look that will have you dressed and out the door in no time.

*dafnis has a very elegant gift for us, the fatpack of their She Is Unique dress. From the front view it is a sleek silky gown, while from behind it holds the surprise of an intricate back piece almost like jewelry built in. The gown comes in sizes for Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and several Belleza Sizes (Freya, Isis, & Venus each in natural, perky, and pushup varieties) with a HUD that lets you choose from 20 colors for the dress and 20 for the neck. That low scoop back really does show off the neck piece wonderfully!

Our next stop is Virtue, at their new location, where you can claim this charming Bella outfit as our Third Life group gift. The top is provided in classic S, M, L sizes along with Freya, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, Ocacin, Voluptuous, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine mesh body sizes, while the skirt comes in S, M, eBody, Freya, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine versions. What that boils down to in my mind is that you can try on a few sizes and experiment with the alphas of your particular mesh body and you should find a suitable fit :) The long skirt and warm looking layered top are a great choice for this weather.

This pretty dress can be found at Nala Design, and I'm going to suggest the best way to locate it within the store is to follow the red arrow/beacon from your map since this store has so many different rooms that it would be hard to explain. Keep an eye out for the Third Life group join sign, beneath which you can claim this *ND* Chabely Cocktail Dress. It includes 5 classic sizes and 5 fitmesh sizes along with eBody, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine mesh body sizing. There is also a HUD with 8 color choices, lots of deep jewel tones among the various options, and you can see a touch of shine near the waist which I am guessing is materials enabled and picking up the ambient lighting in my skybox.

My final look this evening is a fun reminder that there are casual looks among the many generous gifts for the Third Life group, such as this treat from New Line Store called Anne. It consists of a tiny bra top and high waisted shorts, each in sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine. The belt on the shorts is built in, and a perfect match for our top, although you can always mix and match these pieces with anything in your wardrobe to make it uniquely your style. I also think jewelry, shoes, and hair choices can do a lot to personalize an already terrific look like this.

There is something special about the feeling of freshly cut and colored hair, just a relief to have shape again with no weird frizzy roots. The weather is a bit warmer too, so I am ready for a busy but exciting weekend. I am not sure what my blogging schedule will look like, but it shouldn't be too interrupted. Hiya everyone! Tonight I have a special Saturday Sale offer from Entice for you to see, and it will be available at the discounted price until November 2nd so you do have time to stop by and take advantage. In addition, there are a wonderful amount of FabFree group gifts we can pick up, including several I claimed today to share with you this evening. My first look is all three Saturday Sale offers from Entice, separates that coordinate wonderfully called Ireland's Call. The sweater and skirt are each $50L per color with 8 choices, or $299L for the fatpacks which each have 2 bonus exclusive textures via HUD for a total of 10 variations. They each include sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique. As for the matching Ireland's Call Boots, they are just $75L for the fatpack with a 10 color HUD, so that is quite an impressive bargain too! These sleek boots include sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, and Physique.

This is one of the many available FabFree group gifts, from De'Fient Unicorn and called *DU* Americana Chica. It comes in what I call the lucky 13 of mesh sizes (5 classic, 5 fitmesh, Belleza, Maitreya, Slink) and has a bold print with fun colors. The short style is accentuated by sexy leg slits, and I would say this dress is for when you are not feeling the least bit shy!

I do appreciate a creative casual outfit, and the FabFree group gift at MOoH! fits that bill delightfully. It is their Laura Outfit and includes the open blouse and torn jeans each in fitmesh standard sizes plus eBody, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine. Another handy part of the outfit is the HUD for the blouse, which offers 4 colors of slender striping. Just walk down the center courtyard to the group gift area when you arrive at MOoH! to find this thoughtful gift.

The gift at Nala Design is called *ND*Hatty Outfit, and it consists of a bolero and a harem romper that you can wear together or separately. Each comes in a huge range of sizes (5 classic, 5 fitmesh, Freya, Venus, Maitreya, Ocacin, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, Tonic Fine, and Voluptuous) and the gift also includes a HUD with 4 colors for each piece. This store has various group's gifts scattered around in several rooms, so the best way to tell you to locate this one is to follow the red arrow. 

My final look of the evening is from Virtue, their FabFree group gift called Angel Dress in a soft and lovely pink shade. This off-shoulder full length gown comes in plenty of sizes to fit nearly anyone: classic S, M, L, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, O-Classic (Ocacin?), Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, Tonic Fine, and Voluptuous. It was a rainy and chilly day, but friendship provides a very special warmth from within that makes it all worth leaving the house :) That does mean that I had a really nice day, and I am looking forward to relaxing with my company for most of Sunday with maybe a brief outing if any. Free and Fabulous

Hiya everyone! Tonight I am having fun showing off some gifts for the FabFree group, which is short for Fabulously Free in SL. The group is the inworld representation of their amazing blog which I have been following for as long as I can recall, a terrific resource for new and more seasoned residents alike to find gifts, sales, new stores, events, and more. With your group tag (free to join, of course) you can visit many designers to pick up special group gifts such as the ones I am sharing tonight. You can probably tell that it makes me happy to endorse the blog that helped inspire me to start Midnight Magpie, as they were the first that I read on a regular basis. Each store featured tonight has a sign that you can click and then join the group from local chat, just look for the vivid rainbow stripes :) Then when you find the sign, the gift is usually very close if not actually touching the group sign. Easy peasy, and these stores are delightful to visit.

This first outfit can be found at AsHmOoT and is called Large Sweater + Skirt Au.v. which is probably short for autumn version, guessing based on the leaves of the skirt. There is an extra layer to the sweater that is sheer, giving it a slightly fuzzy appearance, so my image may look slightly blurry because of that but it gives a cozy look in person :) The gift includes sizes for Belleza Freya, Isis, Venus, eBody, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and Classic bodies. Random thought, this would look great with the gold/chocolate diamond jewelry I blogged yesterday from the marketplace.

Glitter has their lovely Claire Dress as a FabFree gift for us, in system layers as well as appliers for Maitreya, Belleza, Slink, Omega, and eBody. The skirt panels are provided in standard mesh sizes, so much better than the old prim style that couldn't move when we do. I love the hints of purple trim on the bodice, a fun contrast to the bright red.

On the left above, I am wearing our gift from Ecce Bellus which is called Meow Knit Top and comes in standard mesh sizes plus Belleza Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, eBody, Slink Hourglass, and Slink Physique. I was drawn to its elegance, sometimes animal faces etched onto a shirt will look more cartoonish (which is great too!) but this one has a different feel. Another wonderful gift on the right, this time from Eclectic Stars, which is called Sweetie - I Rebel and includes standard fitmesh sizes along with Belleza Freya, Isis, Venus, eBody, Maitreya, Slink Hourglass, Slink Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine. The vintage look captures the nostalgia associated with the original Star Wars movies, yet is timely with the newest installment due in about 2 weeks. Go ahead and geek out, I sure did!!

I am feeling pretty in purple with our FabFree gift from Virtue, called Melody Top {Pink Dots}. This store focuses on modest styles, which can be hard to find in SL, and this high necked top comes in sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh bodies. That belt and sweet bow caught my eye, and the color looks like a rich plum to me. You can pair this with your favorite pants, skirt, or leggings, while I am wearing it here with a gift from the marketplace that I turn to quite often while blogging. They are the gift from Delizio, jeans in several colors for system, Omega, and Maitreya, and I am wearing the black color here and in the prior photo.

Are we ready for the holiday season? Hello Dave can help your nails get ready too, with their FabFree gift called Early Wrapping. They are compatible with Slink, Omega, and Maitreya hands, with 5 subtly different designs to mix and match or choose your favorite. I know that Hello Dave has exciting things planned for this upcoming month, an Advent calendar for group members and a hunt (much like the Halloween one I posted early in October) for everyone. I will have more details for everyone once they start, as well as some sneak peeks because I love sharing their nails.

I had a much needed acupuncture session earlier, and now am awaiting my houseguest to arrive any minute for a long weekend of fun and tasty food. Then Saturday morning I have an additional visitor for the day, suddenly I feel like a social butterfly :) I am still not sure what my blog schedule will be like this weekend, but I will be switching to morning blog posts for much of December to be able to show you Advent calendar items with enough time for you to go claim them.
