The Silk Road Hunt

 Hiya everyone! Tonight we head down The Silk Road, which is the name of a wonderful free hunt making its return to SL with the 2024 "On the Road Again" round. The Mieville Historical Hunts group is bringing this adventure our way, and we are searching for lanterns to light our way and give us our prizes when clicked :) The ones on the hunt signs have hints for us to help locate the gifts, so be sure to check those if you like a little guidance. The website offers all the landmarks and previews of some of the prizes, so it is handy to have open if you can. I'm finding myself crashing a lot lately and having external browsers open while in SL might not be helping, but it's the new update with PBR so it's got my system working harder than ever. I almost feel guilty suggesting you should have a website open while in SL, but if you use the internal one in Firestorm (which I never have so am very unfamiliar) that might be easier. This hunt is open until the 21st, so just over a week remaining to explore The Silk Road :)

My first look of the evening is the beautiful TMD Saree Zari Pink Set from Thistle Moon Designs. We receive the full outfit as one piece, as well as individual skirt, top, and wrap, each packaged with 3 fitmesh sizes (S, M, L) and sizing for Freya, Venus, Legacy, Maitreya, Ocacin, Reborn, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, Tonic Fine, and Voluptuous mesh bodies. This way we can choose to wear the entire ensemble at once or wear the individual pieces to mix and match. The bright colors add stunning appeal, as this treat is beautifully textured.

Another irresistible prize I am delighted to have found is the DANI Prishna Outfit SRH24 Prize. This outfit consists of the top, skirt, and shrug, each in Kupra, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, Petite, and Reborn mesh body sizes. As separates we can wear these in various ways, like on the right I removed the shrug for a more summery bare-shouldered appearance :) The golden embossing is just amazing, making the lowest tier of the skirt look like burnished liquid gold in motion. 

I really wanted to show off the Kittycat's Creations goodie for us, The Silk Road Tray v2, and this seemed like the perfect time since it kind of matches my outfit! The tray has a built in holding pose as shown, and there are 5 drinks upon it (cervoise, jiuguan baijiu, koji beer, koumiss, Midas touch ale) which Kitty has researched to be historically accurate from the Silk Road trade route and included a notecard about. I believe she said they are all beers. When you or anyone around you touches any of the drinks, it will distribute a mug to them which even emotes in local chat when worn :) I'm always captivated by the work and care that goes into their products, and you can see why. 

Find the lantern at Meander/Me and you'll receive your very own copy of M/M Kivah Dress FP HUD (Silk Road). This beauty is an embroidered silk mini dress with softly ruffled sleeves to match the hem, in sizes for eBody Curvy, Freya, Freya V-Tech, Kupra, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, Petite, Maitreya V-Tech, Hourglass, Physique, and Star mesh bodies. There's also a HUD of course, with 10 lovely colors to choose from. It's easy to tell why I'm a fan, and I've been loving this brand since it was Lemania Indigo designs well over a decade ago.

My final look of the evening might be just right for your weekend plans, if those include a visit to a beach or pool :) It's the Violet Skies - Tropicana Bikini & Sarong prize, a gorgeous combo of bikini (one piece) and sarong so you can wear them both or slip out of the sarong whenever you see fit. Each piece fits Erika, Gen X Curvy, Kupra, Lara X, Petite X, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, Petite, Reborn, and Waifu mesh bodies. There is a HUD provided as well, with 2 sarong textures and 20 colors for the gems, plus 5 metals for the setting of the gems. The lacy sarong texture on the left is more sheer than the one on the right, so it provides a little extra coverage if you wish. The intricate straps caught my eye as surely as the fun tropical print, and the gemstones are just a little extra decoration to emphasize that we are as precious as jewels.

Whew, thank goodness it's Friday! My day got off to a weird start and a lack of sleep, so I skipped dinner at my parents' (nausea and severe exhaustion do not make me a good dinner companion) and tried to relax in the heat. It went okay I suppose, as I am still here to tell the tale ;) Mostly I'd prefer to have my sleep less interrupted and being able to fall back to sleep sooner would have helped too. Sometimes the brain and body just don't cooperate, shrug. I have a busy week ahead so better now than in a few days I guess. Royal Renaissance Hunt

Hiya everyone! Tonight I am sharing a few hunt prizes from The Renaissance VII Hunt whose theme is Kings, Queens, & Fools. It does end on the 30th so you have just a few days to track down the hidden green gargoyles containing the prizes you want. There is a picture on their website of what you are looking for, and each store has a sign with a hint giver (that same green gargoyle) to help you in your searches. There are some preview pictures on the site as well, lots of decor and unisex prizes so this is another great hunt to employ teamwork including your favorite male avatars. Let's step back in time to the Renaissance to dress like royalty, shall we?

Suki's Silken Fashions is offering mens and womens prizes, and this is their 18th Century Privateer Captain's Lady outfit (the Captain is the male gift). The dress comes in standard mesh sizes plus the two smallest in flat chested versions, with a color change HUD that sadly was not working for me today, as some days HUDs and I do not seem to communicate correctly. Also included are the lace sleeves, necklace, boots, and the treasure chest in my left hand which has the hold pose seen here built in. Not shown but also included are 5 colors of hair in a classic updo.

This regal look can be found at AdelleArts Manor Fashions, and is the female prize which is hiding inside that gargoyle with a coordinated prize for the gents. The royal blue and gold gown with dramatic collar is provided in standard fitmesh sizes plus a Maitreya version, along with the necklace and some matching shoes for Maitreya Mid. Included but not shown, a hair with crown that can complete the look if you choose. 

Here we step away from the Renaissance to plunge into delightful fantasy, with this prize from Feyline Fashions. Their *FF* Forest Queen is a very detailed costume, comprised of the top, gloves, and pants in system layers and an Omega applier, a long flexi skirt, ivy for the chest and each upper arm, hand leaves, a headdress in three pieces, matching sandals, and the staff with a hold pose built in. The staff does emit particles, they are subtle and infrequent so it looks like I did not catch any in my photos. I am definitely ready to rule the forest in this striking ensemble!

This chic look is Damsel in this Dress by COVETED! and the name made me chuckle. As you can see, this is a materials enabled mesh dress (which comes in standard sizes) from the way it is picking up hints of the lighting in my skybox backyard. The corset and long bell sleeves add drama, and the deep colors are even more highlighted by the glossy texture. There is also a men's prize, an Autumn Spice outfit, so our guys are not forgotten at this store either.

For my last look, I would love to offer you a tasty snack or beverage from Kittycat's Creations. Their prize is named Owl's Eatery Tray, and when you or your guests click the drink they will receive an Owl's Butter Beer of their very own. The food disappears when clicked and emotes in local chat, but is not offered as an inventory item the way the butter beer is. The butter beer can be thrown and is Spellfire scripted for personal food and for damage on throwing, so this can be integrated into your roleplay. Also, the tray has a modest LI of 5 if you wish to rez it out instead of carrying it with the built in pose.

I have several very busy days ahead, with a beloved houseguest arriving tomorrow night to stay until Sunday night. There are lots of fun plans on the horizon, and I am unsure yet how that will affect my blogging schedule but you know by now that I will do my best :) Once October begins, there are some really exciting things to look forward to, like a Rally to Rescue charity event to help animals in need, and another Wash Cart Sale which always makes me happy. Another Touch of Steam

Hiya everyone! Sorry for the unexpected lack of post yesterday, but I am back with a few more prizes from the delightful Steam XII Hunt. All you need to do is search for a small silver gear at each store (hints and sometimes a path of footprints are provided at each stop) and click to claim the generous prizes which include male and female clothing, accessories, home decor, textures, and more. There are over 80 participating creators, so you are bound to find plenty that suits your second lifestyle. 

I am really drawn to the styling of this dress from Sparrow by Design, who have thoughtfully provided both a male and a female gift for this hunt. This is their Gun Club Groupie dress and has a beautiful corset bodice, with plaid skirt and a draped shawl that reads Baltimore Gun Club up top, then around the hem "One day, however -- sad and lamentable day! -- peace was signed by the survivors of the war". The gown is in standard mesh sizes, all one piece, and there is a slight train to its style.

Kittycat's Creations provides yet another well researched treat for us hunters. This is the Cog For-us and is based on a tantalus (usually a small locked cabinet to protect alcohol from servants or younger family members) as well as a ferris wheel, as seen in the middle. The decanters are Steampunk Cocktails and Lovecraft Brews, each of which offers any who touches it a choice of 12 beverages. Two examples from the Steampunk selection are called Laced Absinthe and Gear Grinder, while two fun possibilities from the Lovecraft list are Deep One Ale or Nightgaunt Whiskey. Drink at your own risk ;) There are two versions of the tray, one wearable as seen here and one to rez out for a mere 4 land impact. The drinks you receive upon clicking have a built in animation, and each have unique chat emotes too. Just right click and add from your inventory.

AdelleArts has us looking ready for just about anything (but mostly adventure) in this fun Lady Adventure outfit, which does have a male counterpart included in the prize too. The shirt, tank top, and shorts are a single mesh piece in standard sizes plus a Maitreya version, while the boots and resizeable hat are included as well. The resize script came in handy for my springy curls.

There are many home decor items available throughout this hunt, especially including this gorgeous bookcase from Simply Shelby. It is their Jules Verne bookcase and has a land impact of 12, and is just so lovingly created to honor the author with many of his books on the shelves, a photo of him in the upper right, and some fun extra details. Be sure to keep an eye on the man on the moon when you display this, and you can click the ships wheel for one light and any of the brass bars on the top for even more light as shown. The case itself has a reclaimed ash finish, which as you can see is quite beautiful. You can click this photo to enlarge it and see it a bit better.

The best way to sum up my absence is that a family member wound up in the emergency room and I have been acting as a caretaker ever since. Cellulitis (a skin infection, swelling and redness with a fever) can be surprisingly serious, and if said family member does not improve and requires inpatient IV antibiotics, I will most likely be accompanying them for about a week while they receive treatment and would be completely unable to blog. I humbly ask for your positive energy, prayers, well wishes, healing vibes, etc., not for myself but for their speedy recovery. The ankle is a bad location for an infection it seems, since standing or walking becomes so painful as to be nearly impossible. While we wait to see how these antibiotics work, I will try to keep up with my blog and hope for the best. No April Fools Tricks, Just Treats

Hiya everyone! Tonight I am showing more prizes from the Easter Egg Hunt at the German Land Holding Estate Spring Fair 2016. I showed you some yesterday, but there are 103 eggs so it was no trouble to share some more tonight :) I know it's April Fool's Day but I am not much a prankster, so that's why the title...no pranks tonight, just plenty of goodies for you!

First we have an adorable strapless dress from ~CaL~ called Janine, in standard mesh sizes. The style as well as the floral pattern are so well suited for spring, fresh and flowing.

Another great find is the Sweet E's Water Color Kate Gown, in a few fitmesh sizes including for Maitreya, Slink, and Slink Hourglass. Love the bright flowers, the shape, and the daring slit hemline! The dress also beautifully shows off the prize from Uni-qu3, their Mesh Theas Boots which are provided in 5 sizes with a HUD for 16 different color options. These are both marvelous prizes, together or separately.

This sexy dress is our prize from {VEE}'s, their Maylie easterdress, in several fitmesh sizes including Slink and Belleza. The soft springy color is delightful, and so is the styling with those delicate straps in the back. My shoes are our prize from [PDD] called Bunni Hunni High Heels Pink. They are provided in Belleza, Maitreya, TMP, and Slink versions (slink shown) to suit your favorite feet, and that bunny is just too cute.

Another duo of prizes can be seen here, starting with this dress from Dark Intentions. Their DI Silk & Velvet Shift Dress is included in 13 mesh sizes: 5 classic mesh, 5 fitmesh, Belleza, Slink, and Maitreya versions too. As for the drinks I am offering you, that tray is our prize from Kittycat's Creations, their Floral Liquors tray. When you or your guest clicks their chosen cup, it vanishes from the tray and is offered as a wearable object with sipping animation and local chat emotes. The flavors are Creme de Violette, Rose Schnapps, Lavender Liqueur, and St-Germain Liqueur. The rose in its bud vase is part of the tray itself, just a decorative touch. 

One last lovely dress, this is our prize from TRS Designs, simply called GLH Hunt Gift Dress. These springtime colors are brightly complemented by the blooms on the skirt, and the built in belt enhances your curves just right. 

No nail note tonight, I went with the Slink utilities HUD that comes with the hands/feet and picked a French mani/pedi that matches my skintone.

Warm Socks For Chilly Weekend

Hiya everyone! Tonight I have a few more treasures to show you from the Warm Socks 2 Hunt and Gacha Event, so if your weather is becoming a bit brisk, these fun and free prizes should help you feel toasty at least in SL. 

First we have a cuddly looking knit dress from Vertigo (#17), and this cutie is extremely versatile. Along with the usual mesh sizes, we receive a color HUD with several preset shades (3 of which are shown above) plus a clickable color wheel and RGB input so you can change this to any color imaginable. Think of all the possibilities, and it can be dressed up with your favorite jewelry and shoes.

If your day or mood is rainy, you can let these wonderful garter socks express that for you. This is prize #22 from TRASHED, and they include a system layer plus Slink and TMP HUDs. There are even a pair of shark socks for the men.

Cheeky Parrot is stop #12 in the hunt, and their prize includes the shoes and stockings combo along with the matching cardigan. I picked up a simple pair of black leggings from the marketplace to complete the outfit somewhat, but I'm guessing a mini skirt would be a great pairing. Each part (the sweater, and the shoes/stockings) comes in standard mesh sizes for the right fit.

Since breakfast all day is a popular idea lately, I will end this evening's post by offering you some coffee and breakfast nibbles :) Our prize from Kittycat's Creations is this Breakfast Coffee Tray with hold pose as shown, and if you or your guests click the food it emotes in local chat and disappears from the tray for a moment. The coffee will distribute a cup to all who click, nice and steamy just like all the treats on the tray.

My nail note of the night is the same as last night, a group gift from Hello Dave, but there is now a new group gift available at the store so I may be showing that soon :) Meanwhile the group is free to join with dozens and dozens of previous weekly gifts available, so I suggest you go and treat yourself to some beautiful manicures.

It's another busy weekend here, and sometimes keeping so busy is a refreshing thing that keeps me from fretting over the news and such. More Medieval Fantasy Hunt

Hiya everyone! I have more prizes to share from the Medieval Hunt XIV - Story of Salem. There are a wide variety of gifts to be found, obviously I mainly focus on the fashion but I've found some fun home decor too for example. You never know what you'll find in these hunts, and sometimes a picture on a hunt blog doesn't even capture the full scope of what a gift looks like or does. I love when they surprise me!

This stunning gown is an exclusive prize from C&N called Larunna, and they are #14 in the hunt. You will receive it in standard mesh sizes for a fine fit. The colors and pattern are lovely, and it looks as pretty from the back as it does from the front. I accessorized with the prize from #17, Chaos, Panic & Disorder! They have included a mens and womens version of their Wooden Pentacle Necklace (I'm sure you can guess which I'm wearing) and the beads are a really nice touch.

This elegant costume is our gift from #38 Tayren's Fantasy Fashions, and it is called Plague Witch (a mens version called Plague Warlock is also included). It is a wonderfully thorough gift, consisting of not only the mesh gown in standard sizes, but also the mask, pentacle necklace, and tintable hair in 3 sizes to fit nicely beneath the hood of the gown. The mask triggered a partial memory so I wound up doing some googling, and it served as an interesting reminder that witch persecution does predate Salem, and this mask stems from a time in Europe when they believed witches were to blame for the plague, and the beak part of the mask held scented herbs to protect doctors from the bad smells that they believe infected people with the plague. The necklace is also quite striking, with the moon as an addition to the pentacle, which I would interpret to symbolize the Goddess within everything, including the elements represented by the pentacle. I can't speak for the creator's intention, that is merely my guess :)

A new-to-me location called Taufells provided this appealing trio of Arwen dresses, which certainly made me smile. This is #41 in the hunt path, and they have provided not only these gowns in green, purple, and red as shown (standard mesh sizes of each), but a men's prize and a shield with an owl design on it. I love the little details, like how the design isn't quite identical for each color variation so it really is 3 different versions. 

Before I wrap up with the credits, may I offer you a beverage? This tray is our gift from Kittycat's Creations (#45) and is called Banke of Brewes, and our detail-oriented brewmaster has included a notecard explaining that these are all ales that were available during that time frame, and because they are called Sixe-shilling Beere, Shilling Ale, Half-penny Ale, and Penny Ale, the name Bank fell into place quite nicely. She does a remarkable amount of research before creating any of her products, and I guess that's why I love showing you her work. Each has its own cup (stein?) and they are wearable and throwable (and spellfire scripted), so I suggest being a nice host while offering these or you might get bonked in the head ;) When your guest clicks a drink, it disappears from your tray and is offered to them in their inventory, but don't worry it will reappear shortly on the tray so someone else may choose it as well. 

Nail note of the night: same as last night, I went with a French manicure from the default Slink HUD for simplicity. These historical themed outfits don't seem like they'd need nail art to complement them, hehe.

Renaissance Hunt Jewels

Hiya everyone! I thought I would wrap up my posts on the Renaissance Hunt V with a look at some of the amazing jewelry that can be found on various stops in this hunt. I was thinking about it yesterday when I mentioned how much I enjoy seeing SL jewelry and how detailed it can be, and knew there were several prizes I could share, so this post is a look at the sparkly and elegant gifts to adorn our necks, ears, fingers and more.

First we have a lovely crown by ~*W I  L L O W*~ which is prize #017 in the hunt. I also had the pleasure of showing you all 5 women's necklaces from Chaos, Panic & Disorder! who are stop #039 and have several decoys out, but never fear as each decoy contains a variation of the prize necklace. In the main image I'm wearing the Balaurul Necklace in Ruby, beneath are Blackened, Sapphire, Fire, and the original main prize. In the upper right corner I am showing you the men's version in Ruby, and that can be found in all 5 matching colors in the various decoys. CPD is very generous with their hunt prizes, and I'm really fond of these necklaces with their Asian flair.

Allow me to introduce the Collar of the Queen, part of prize #026 from Never Ever. The gift includes the gorgeous necklace you see here, along with the matching ring in the inset (which reminds me of the royal engagement ring) and a 2 part Collar of the King, not shown. I do appreciate that most of these hunt prizes include goodies for both genders :)

Buccaneer's Restorations (#064) have provided prizes suited for males and females as well, but as both of these are indicated as the female prizes (the male gift isn't shown) I am wondering if the smaller one is designed for a child avatar as well. The smaller necklace shown is the Elizabeth I Miniature Lady's Carcanet, and the larger one is the Lady's Locket. The men's gift is called the Courtier's chain, and there is even a version without a chain so you can use it for just about anything. These even come with a certificate of authenticity signed by Queen Elizabeth :) We must really be treasured subjects to receive this from her!

Store #024 in the hunt is Thistle Moon Designs, and they are taking part in a mini hunt by Antiquity that is an optional part of the main hunt, but I highly recommend it as the earrings shown above are the mini hunt prize. The Pearl and Emerald Necklace are part of the main prize and are accompanied by the clever Gold Renaissance Hiding Ring that will open and close upon clicking. What will you hide in yours?

If you would like to offer your guests a luxurious beverage, Kittycat's Creations is glad to help by giving you prize #005 A Fine Tray, which as the notecard explains will give your friends (or yourself, I have tested it) the elegant goblet of wine they choose by clicking, and it will vanish from your tray while being offered to their inventory. Fancy wine was all imported and quite expensive in that time, so only the rich had such a luxury. The wine choices are Cadiz Wine, Clary, Muscadell, Sack, and Wormwood Wine, which were all available in that time according to their research. They also have a prize at their other location, which offers mugs of ale, so if you find that goodie you will be able to offer something a bit more down to earth.

Instead of a nail note of the night since they aren't really visible in any photos, I will mention that I am wearing the same outfit I did for yesterday's blog, prize #062 from Peckbeth Clothiers. It is a lovely mesh gown and comes with a matching hat and slippers, not shown. I'll credit it under photo #1 instead of all 5 photos, but you get the idea.

I had a fairly hectic day so I'm running late, and thinking I deserve some major retail therapy after an unusual amount of stress. Still Feeling Fae

Hiya everyone! I have a few more goodies from the Fae Hunt by ZAHM Hunts to share, not just fashion but a couple gorgeous furnishings type items, so let's have a peek or two ;)

Here is the charming Deyanira dress from C&N Medieval, which I decided to accessorize just for fun with some elf ears! Those ears are the prize from Gothic Desires and don't contain any scripts or have any HUD or anything, but they seem modifiable so you can probably adjust that skin color. I showed a closer view of their jewelry in the inset :)

Two more lovely prizes, this is the Fairy Dress from Budget Friendly Designs which I'm showing here with the optional flexi skirt add on. The delicate colors are just fabulous! I'm also quite enjoying the headband from Grumble, the roses make me smile.

For this one, you'll want to click to see the picture as large as possible...this is the same dress without the flexi skirt, and I added the prize from Spyralle, the Pearl Antennae. Fun! In need of refreshments, I posed with the Dragon's Table from Kittycat's Creations. The drinks aren't Game of Thrones themed but wow that dragon looks like Daenerys' dragons! To use, click anywhere on the table for a menu of drink choices, then your choice will appear atop the table where you can click to receive as an inventory offer. I am drinking Elverquisst in this photo, and God's Mead is shown on the table. My drink is bubbling, hard to notice but there are faint bubbles in front of me.

I am posing here with the beautiful prize from Adorably Strange Wares, this is the Woodland Nympha Setting and offers 3 different poses when you sit. Look at those beautiful orchids in addition to the cheerfully colored mushrooms, I love this!

In all of these photos I am wearing a lucky board prize from one of my favorite shopping areas, the Kiyomizu Mall, the store is Pulcino and the the nails are called Poisoned Apple with 10 different colors. Can't beat the variety or the price of free :)
