Happy FabFree Holidays

 Hiya everyone! Tonight I decided to share some FabFree group gifts that are holiday themed, just in time for a Merry Christmas. The FabFree group is free to join, and all of the group gifts for them are also free, so just consider these ways to treat yourself after all of your holiday shopping for others is done :) I had been noticing posts on the FabFree blog for a while about new gifts and saw that a few of them were seasonal, so there was no time like the present (pun intended) to make sure all of you were aware of them as well.

My first look is the FabFree gift from Paper.Sparrow, which is upstairs with some similar gifts for other multi-designer groups so be sure to check those too :) This cutie is called Koala Holiday Josie Dress, and has a pattern of adorable koalas wearing Santa hats. The gift includes sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Legacy, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh bodies. 

Next I visited Shanti, where I claimed their Twisted Holiday Outfit which is their current FabFree group gift. Its sweater and skinny jeans each come in a classic M size for classic avatars, as well as Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and TMP mesh body sizes. The sweater says "Cute and twisted" surrounding a candy cane, and I must admit to identifying with that description too ;)

I also visited Sweet Willows, where there are 2 holiday gifts waiting for FabFree group members, starting with this (SW) Winter Sweater & HUD. The V neck sweater has one side pulled up and tucked in, provided in sizes for Freya, Legacy, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh bodies. The HUD lets us choose from 8 fun patterns, two of which can be seen above. I kept the Shanti jeans on for simplicity but they really do work well together!

The other Sweet Willows gift is their (SW) Winter PJ's, which come in red and green versions that both fit the Maitreya mesh body. I love the knit texture on both, and the way the legs extend down to even keep our heels warm and toasty. On the right I am enjoying their Illustrious- Gnomies Christmas dress, whose flirty style is balanced by the playful feeling of the artwork on the pattern...those gnomes have presents, candy canes, ornaments, trees, and stockings with them for extra festive flavor, and I think I see some cakes! I would like to take this time to wish everyone who celebrates a very Merry Christmas ♥. I am more into the secular, surprise-your-family-with-goodies aspects of the holidays than the religious nature, and even with missing my cousins and grandmother tonight I am still focusing on the positives. They are safe and healthy, and none of us will accidentally infect each other with any germs whatsoever (there's more out there than the plague one, regular cold and flu season is no fun either) so there is some comfort in that. Tomorrow I will spend most of afternoon and evening with my parents making pizza, which admittedly is an unusual tradition but it started many years ago when they used to host a large New Years Day ham dinner for 20+ friends and family members. With that so close to Christmas day, it was easier to do something smaller and pizza is fun and faster to cook. Over the years, the number of people attending the NYD dinner dropped to the point it no longer made sense, and we rarely eat ham anyway so none of us really miss the meal itself. I'll always have fond memories of it though. I am not posting tomorrow evening but I will be back the next evening with another blog post for all of you with my usual magpie love. More Fallen Leaves and Frost

 Hiya everyone! Tonight I am pleased to share more prizes from the FabFree Fallen Leaves and Frost Hunt, which is open until the end of the month so there is just over a week remaining. The prizes are hidden inside neon rainbows, and cost between $0L - $5L so are either free or very affordable. The hunt's website has all our landmarks and hints, with many preview photos so you can see what you will be claiming when you find the pretty rainbows. Many participating stores have more than one prize for us, which is not surprising since we already knew that FabFree designers are awesome!

My first look features two of the 5 prizes you can find at No Shot. The dress is called ~NS~ Alison Dress Autumn and costs just $1L, including sizes for Freya, Isis, Hourglass, Kupra, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, and Petite mesh bodies. To complete the look I added the free ~NS~ peep toe boots autumn prize, which come in Belleza, Maitreya, and Slink High foot sizing. They are a slightly darker shade of plum than the dress, both of which are lovely and will look terrific with whatever else you might wish to pair them with. The other three prizes include two for the guys, so spread the word and bring your favorite men.

This might be my first Christmas themed photo of the season :) It is two of the 5 free prizes we can find at Sweet Willows, a longtime FabFree designer who even offers a discount in their vendors for all wearing the FabFree group tag. The cutie on the left is (SW) Foxy Outfit - Christmas Wrap while the Santa Baby version is to the right. They each include top and skirt in sizes for Freya, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh bodies. These two both have pretty snowflakes on them, and I love the white lace against the green and red. 

This duo is two more of the Sweet Willows prizes, in even more dreamy colors. On the left I'm wearing the (SW) Foxy Outfit - Ice, and the same outfit name in Candy is the pink one on the right. The style is flattering and so are these colors, so I am glad I do not have to choose a favorite ;)

You can probably guess that this is the 5th Sweet Willows prize, their (SW) Foxy Outfit - Elf treat. It comes in the same sizes as all the others (Freya, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique) and has a distinct Christmas flavor with its red snowflakes and jingly bells. The combination of red, white, and green is even more charming with the addition of gold from those bells!

For my final look of the evening, I chose one of the two free gifts for the ladies at AmAzInG CrEaTiOnS. This is their Female Top prize and includes standard mesh sizes along with Freya, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique versions. There is also a HUD to tint it in any color you wish, with a color wheel and a button to input RGB numbers if you wish. I left it untinted on the left, then chose a light green in the spirit of the upcoming yule season on the right. If you've read my blog before, you have probably seen these jeans before, as they are a favorite of mine when I need bottoms to share a great new top :) They are a free gift on the marketplace from Delizio, several colors in system/BOM layers as well as Maitreya and Omega appliers.

FabFree Celebrates St Pattys

 Hiya everyone! Tonight we have a limited time hunt to explore, the FabFree St. Patty's Day Hunt, which started on the 16th and ends on the 20th. This quick terrific hunt has prizes between $0-5L from some really talented designers, hiding inside an image of two rainbow striped horseshoes. The shoes are for luck and the rainbow is from the FabFree logo, so it makes sense :) I am focused on the free gifts tonight, and the website will help you see what the others are and decide which you want to find in a hurry. 

My first look is the free prize from Glitterati by Sapphire, simply named St. Patty's Day Hunt. It is a single piece with the appearance of two, and comes in standard mesh sizes as well as Belleza, Maitreya, and Slink versions. The solid green has a ribbon of trim at the waistband and skirt hem, and the flared sleeves add to the springy flavor. 

Sweet Willows has a whopping 5 free gifts to find, each of which is a different variety of the gorgeous dresses you see above. The one on the left is Hunt Prize #2, with #5 on the right, as I chose two randomly to give you an idea. Each striking gown is provided in a fitmesh size for classic avatars, plus Freya, Legacy, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique sizing. The bare shoulders and draped sash down the front are such elegant details, and look beautiful in each color varation.

I have been a fan of Baby Monkey for as long as I can remember, and it was initially all about the shoes. Over the years, they have branched out into clothing too, which makes me a very happy customer :) They have two free prizes hidden for us to find, which I have paired together to great effect. The clothing is their BM Tie Cami Dress St Patricks gift, in sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine. There is also a HUD included with 4 color choices each for top and skirt portion, three of which you can see above plus a darker green. Our footwear is the prize called BM Ilena Heels St Patricks, strappy heels that fit Belleza, Maitreya, and Slink High feet with a similar 4 color HUD. The styles look wonderful together, and the colors are going to look great at any time of year but especially today. 

Another store with multiple free prizes is Ruxy, with three stunning dresses as gifts for all who find their horseshoes. On the left I am wearing the Amour Mustard gown, and the pretty frock on the right is their Cristinne Dress >Cod 4< Green. Each of these are sized for Legacy and Maitreya bodies, with the Cristinne dress containing a 4 metal HUD so you can change the look if you wish. What is the third gift, you wonder? Well it is another green dress, even shorter and more flirty than these ;) Go find it!

For my final look of the evening, you just need to find one pair of horseshoes at ART & FASHION to claim both of these lovelies at once. Today was rather blah, as I had that appointment across town that is never enjoyable. I go to the podiatrist every 9 weeks to get my toenails trimmed and ingrowns taken care of, which I thought was ridiculous when I first heard about it from my parents (you mean you pay the doctor to give you a pedicure??) but my toenails really are much healthier these days. My nail beds are naturally very curved and it makes them grow in funny, causing those nasty ingrown nails that can wind up infected if not careful. I also have neuropathy (nerve damage) that affects my hands and feet, so it's best to have a professional examine my toes as often as practical. Tonight I watched my favorite hockey team lose 9-0, which is an unusually high score and grossly unbalanced to boot. So I am looking forward to escaping into SL tonight, where I can forget the day and find more exciting things to share with all of you. Free Is Fabulous

Hiya everyone! I was in a group gift mood today, and one of my favorite multi-store sources of group gifts happens to be FabFree, short for Fabulously Free in SL. Their group (free to join, of course) is the inworld representation of the FabFree blog, a truly remarkable source of information about goings-on in SL. They keep us informed about events, hunts, gifts, and special sales, while many of their participating designers have gifts for their group members like the ones I am sharing tonight. Their group is among the first I joined in 2007 as a new resident, and one I have never even considered leaving :) They will always have a place in my group slots, and in my heart. 

First I visited MOoH! and claimed their flirty Evelyn Dress gift for FabFree. It comes in standard mesh sizes along with Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and TMP versions, with a 6 color HUD to change the center panels of the dress. The black sides and laces are ready to coordinate with any of the color options, including black to make it a solid colored outfit.

{Poeme} is offering their lovely Blue Snowflake Crop Sweater free to all FabFree members. It includes a fitmesh size for classic avatars, plus Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh body versions. The knit texture really caught my eye, and it looks great with the blue jeans from Delizio and their marketplace freebie (a frequent addition to my blog posts) which come in several colors as system/BOM layers plus appliers for Maitreya and Omega.

Special note of the night: if you wear a Maitreya body and have not heard yet, there is an update to the body so you will want to get a redelivery. There is a sign to click at the mainstore, and their official group has a HUD in the group notices I believe to let you redeliver from wherever you are. I am not in the group, just passing along that info second-hand. There is some information about the update on their website, and I saw something about an update to 5.0.1 already with some fixes so you might want to redeliver again if you did already. I'll be doing that when I login, and probably joining the group to get that delivery HUD.

This weekend sure did go by quickly, didn't it? I am not sure what the upcoming week holds yet, but there is always something new happening somewhere in SL so I expect to find plenty of special things to blog about :) I am not a football fan so I watched the Puppy Bowl instead of that other big game, LOL, although I did catch the halftime show. The dress on the left is their $10L Maitreya Maggie Dress, and the name tells you which body its single size is fitted for ;) There is also a HUD included that gives you a dialog menu (blue, upper right) with 11 textures to choose from. On the right I am enjoying their Biker outfit + Glasses BOM, which is one of their $25L selections. It includes system layers for the lace bra, vest, and jeans, with the mirrored sunglasses in versions on the eyes as shown or on the head (not shown) like a headband. They are unrigged and can be adjusted if you need to, as I did. Hocus Pocus is the way to obtain this wonderful prize from [Fetch] called Death Dress. It is provided in a Maitreya size, with a HUD that offers 6 color choices. If you can convince the ghost to give you the gift it will be free, otherwise you can choose to pay $50L if you can't resist it :) 

Another Hocus Pocus prize designed for Maitreya mesh bodies is this cutie from Alt3 called Neko. At first glance it is a simple black t-shirt dress, but it has a pocket in the front with a unicorn dressed like a witch peeking out from it. So cute!

Normally I have a problem with bees, but this Janessa Bodycon Bee Pack from Decoy is too adorable to fear :) The dresses come in Freya and Maitreya sizing in 3 versions: bee stripe, black, and yellow. Also included are the animated wings that gently flap when worn, and the antenna headbands in yellow and black. They do somewhat blend in with my background, but if you look closely you'll see the yellow tipped ones on the left and black on the right. 

I still haven't gotten the shape adjusted the way I wanted for my Slink Amelia head, so for now I am back to my Genus classic face. It is strange how we get so used to a certain look for ourselves, and then it is almost disconcerting to see a change. Sometimes I look at other people's SL photos and think wow, that head is gorgeous so I should find out what it is and go demo it! But honestly I am a creature of habit and will be thrilled when Genus updates to include static poses that I can use more easily for blogging. Resources are limited and investing in several different brands of pricey heads is simply not practical for me these days. My hair purchasing addiction is bad enough, LOL!

Today was long, busy, and tiring, with a nailbiter of a hockey game in the evening that unfortunately did not go my team's way. I keep reminding myself that it's early in the season yet, and they have time to iron out their issues. The farmers market was a pleasure as always, and I will be eating delicious and somewhat decadent food for the next few days :) I hope you're all having a satisfying weekend, many magical magpie hugs to everyone!!

Hiya everyone! I was randomly inspired to check on the current FabFree (Fabulously Free in SL) group gifts, and was so delighted with what I found that I am happily sharing them with all of you. The group is free to join as always, and is the in-world counterpart to the FabFree blog that I have been a fan of for as long as I can remember :) There are so many participating designers, many of which are offering generous gifts for anyone with the FabFree group tag to claim. I also have a new look, thanks to the Slink Hourglass body! It is such a different figure than I am used to, and it is so sensual that I couldn't resist showing it off.

First we see the Kingbal Stores gift for FabFree, their KS Outfit Mei Dress Japan Red T3. It starts with the daringly short red dress with lovely trim, in sizes for eBody, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine. The strappy sandals complete the look, in Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique sizing.

Next we have the Fatal Fashion group gift, which is one of many they have waiting behind their desk. My final look is courtesy of Sweet Willows, their lovely (SW) Bandana Skirt Outfit and HUD. The sleeveless top and wrap skirt each come in Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique sizes, each with their own 5 color HUD. The textures for the top are all solid, while the skirt has bandana prints that coordinate perfectly with the top's hues. 

I am still astonished by how much the change to the Hourglass body makes my avatar look so different, at least to my mind since I'm the one who sees it and lives in it each day. Don't get me wrong, I love the Maitreya and the Physique for that matter, but I do find them more similar to each other somehow. My first thoughts were Marilyn Monroe, no wait redhead...Christina Hendricks...Jessica Rabbit! LOL it was a whirlwind in my brain obviously ;) Curves are beautiful, so I am going to play with the shape later (this was the same one I've been wearing) and appreciate this ample figure for its innate charm. Xan had already logged out for the night before I tried it on, so I am eager to see what he thinks of it. Otherwise it's been an average day, just preparing for the chaos of the next few days.
