Pride At Home

 Hiya everyone! Tonight I wish all of you a Happy Pride Month with some fantastic gifts from the Pride at Home Event. The location I'm inviting you to is a city and festival where you can find rides, parties, live music shows, and of course the gifts that I'm tickled rainbow (that's like tickled pink, only much more colorful!) to share ♥. There are also dozens of $99L offers at various mainstores so be sure to peek around for landmarks and information on that if you are in the mood for some shopping for a good cause. So as a cis straight woman, why do I share Pride merchandise? That is simple and important for me to remind people...I do it to let everyone know that I am an ally and that people are safe with me. I will never judge your gender or sexuality, and there are people (friends and family members) I value deeply who are LGBT+ who also inspire me to be kind to all. The 70s child in me simply loves rainbows and always has, but the adult Dawn has a deep respect for the symbolism for this community. We're all in this wild ride of life together :)

My first look this evening is a pairing of free gifts, so I'll start with the sexy dress. It's the Skittish - Wanted Dress Pride Edition, a cinched waist strapless mini with remarkable details. There are sizes for Legacy, Lara X, Reborn, Juicy, and Waifu mesh bodies, all with matching alpha layers to help hide the midriff and give that hourglass appearance. We also receive a HUD with 20 textures as well as hide/show options for the corset and bra, both of which I've hidden on the right. Now there are buttons with colors for each of those as well, but either they aren't activated for this particular dress or SL was just being mean to me this morning. The hem is so short that I needed the tights to cover down-below-bits, so thank goodness for our +Crypt Keeper+Pride Tights+ Gift! There are 3 BOM versions called nuevo, have fun, and heart, and I adore all three :) BOM layers are so easy to wear, and I remember thinking appliers were the greatest thing since sliced cheese but at least with BOM layers you can see exactly what you're wearing by checking the worn tab of inventory, and you can add tons of layers without any interference.

This look is a pairing of multiple gifts too, showing off their versatility. The top is our Everything Indie - Free Tee, a sweet cropped t-shirt with a pride version of the logo of a group featuring indie music from all over in SL. They have male and female sizing each in black or white, and the female sizes include Erika, Gen X Classic, Gen X Curvy, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, Petite, Lara X, Petite X, Reborn, and Waifu bodies. They look great with the [RED GIRL] Pride Shorts {PAH Gift}, which are cuffed denim short in sizes for Legacy, Maitreya, and Reborn bodies. There are HUDs galore - asexual, bisexual, lesbian, LGBTQIA, non binary, pansexual, and transgender - each with 4 denim color options. They will give your shorts the pride flag heart of your choice on the left front, with sayings like "Born to Slay" and "Queer and Proud" on the other side. 

Yet another duo of gifts makes an appearance here, because there are so many generous designers and plenty of mix-and-match separates. The Belle Epoque - Stefany Top is a fun starry tube top that fits Lara X, Petite X, Legacy, Bombshell, Reborn, and Waifu bodies, with a HUD that offers 11 various pride flag textures like the traditional rainbow on the left and what I believe is genderqueer on the right. As for my shorts, they are the wonderful #10 Apple Blossom - Equal Shorts gift. We have black and white versions that are each designed for Legacy, Maitreya, and Reborn mesh bodies, labeled V1 and V2 so now I've forgotten which is which, lol. Apologies for that, it's been chaos lately.

Next I changed into the stunning mellowcute-PRIDEatHOME dress-love gift, which caught my eye with its rainbow stripes that are slightly softer than the traditional bold colors but not quite pastel either. The white lace trim is a perfect touch, and shows off those slits on the front of the skirt so nicely. There are Kupra, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, Petite, Reborn, and Juicy mesh body sizes included. I hope you noticed the SIGMA Pride choker around my neck :) That is a great match for the hues of the dress, and it comes in Legacy, Maitreya, and unrigged versions. It reminds me of those puka shell necklaces that whisper summer and bring back lots of amusing memories.

My final look of the evening is the [ILAYA] Vilma Love is Love gift. The layered t-shirt dress has a rainbow striped band at the hem and cuffs to match the wording on the front, and built in panties. In sizes for Lara X, Petite X, Legacy, Perky, Bombshell, Reborn, and Waifu mesh bodies, it also has a HUD for the panties with 24 color choices and an on/off option. You can also turn materials off and on through the HUD, so it is quite handy :) 

Weaning off an antidepressant is rough stuff, and even though I didn't think it was fully working, my brain is reacting like a toddler when you take away their favorite toy. I've been counting the days until I stop taking this lowest dose level (25% of my highest dose) and now I'm practically ready to start counting the minutes until I can start taking the next one. It may work or it may be a disaster, lol, but either way I need to know and my brain really wants something to help it balance its chemistry. At least I got to stay home today, and I'm trying to pretend that the 4 crying jags were just natural cleansing and healing, nothing to worry about. I know I will be okay, even if this moment feels difficult, and I believe the same for anyone out there who is also struggling with absolutely anything. Wayward Hunt Prizes

 Hiya everyone! Tonight I'm sneaking in a post of prizes from the Wayward Hunt, which only lasts until the 15th so time is of the essence :) The free prizes are inside cardboard boxes tied with twine, and you need the Wayward Hunt group tag (free to join) active to claim them. The landmarks don't seem to be on any websites that I could find, so you will need to check the group notices where you'll find a notecard with the locations and some hints. Get the most recent one, as the earlier one from the 1st of the month had some bad landmarks and a couple of stores that have since dropped out. Xan and I used teamwork to track down nearly all of the prizes, and I'm grateful to him as always ♥ as well as the generous designers of course! It's always a pleasure to visit stores and see what's new, and potentially find new favorite places to spend some lindens.

My first look of the evening is Kaithleen's Leopard Dress - Ember, which as you can see is delightfully flirty. The unpacking HUD offers eBody Curvy, eBody Reborn, Juicy, Freya, Kupra, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, and Petite mesh body options (just deliver the one you need and hang onto the HUD for future reference), each of which come to you in a folder with a handy HUD to choose from 20 colors each for 3 areas and 4 metals. The straps, trim, and panties are the 3 areas that you can tint, on the right I did each a different shade but the purple of the panties is less noticeable than I expected ;) The built in panties are held up by metallic chains, and I like having color options for that portion too. 

Another prize I simply had to share is [The Forge] Luna, Black. This sexy bodysuit made me think of that Stevie Nicks duet "Leather and Lace" for obvious reasons, lol, and I am enamored with the crossed halter and fun straps :) There are sizes for eBody, eBody Juicy Boobs, Legacy, Perky, and Maitreya mesh bodies included in our wayward little treat. 

I combined two lovely prizes in this look, so let's start from the top ;) That would be our Belle Epoque - Ivana Top - Hunt GIFT, which includes Legacy, Perky, Lara X, Petite, and Reborn mesh body sizes, with a HUD that offers 12 intriguing patterns in a wide range of colors. The charming skirt is our Mikan Skirt - Beige prize from Kokoro{<3}Peachu. It fits eBody, Legacy, and Maitreya mesh bodies, and is beautifully pleated with a tiny bit of white lace trim around the hem. I do enjoy neutrals, so we can wear them with just about anything we wish :) 

Our [ILAYA] Star Shirt & Ninette Pants prize is a perfect pairing of casual separates to create a cozy outfit. They are each provided in sizes for Legacy, Maitreya, Lara X, Reborn, and Waifu mesh bodies, in soft pink with delicate floral print on the pants. The cute flowers do give me a very springlike feeling!

My final look tonight is focused on the fingertips, as we can also claim a beautiful set of mesh nails from one of the hunt boxes :) MIWAS / My heart Nail #FATPACK includes Legacy and Reborn sizes (just use your body's HUD to hide its nails and add these) and a HUD with 9 colors as well as several alpha options. At 0% my nails are fully opaque on the left side of the photo (right hand) and I think I chose 20% for the purple set on the right side, so if you look closely you can see they are slightly translucent but still easily visible. I saw a trick recently how to do a heart shape with RL magnetic nails, that involved twisting a paperclip into a heart shape then holding it with the magnet over your magnetic polish...I'm probably not explaining that very well but I definitely suggest looking it up if you are curious :) No need here though, these already have beautiful hearts and a smattering of shimmer in every polish color.

Well, it was another day and another session of sitting in the car with a book and a timer, feeling like a puppy being crate-trained ;) The idea is to get comfortable in a car when it's not moving, then next week I assume we'll start with the moving part again. I joke, but I fully accept and approve of the therapist's new plan to go slower but more often to ensure that I am building up little bits of progress again. Humor has always been a defense mechanism for me, but I don't want to come off flippant or like I have any issues with the therapy. Pride At Home

 Hiya everyone! Tonight I am pleased to share a celebration of Pride month with the Pride at Home event. This region has a carnival atmosphere thanks to parade floats and decor, and we have an area with gifts and information about the LGBTQ+ community. I have deeply personal reasons for being a firm ally, and that will never change because I just genuinely believe that kindness and compassion are vital in this world. All of the gifts I'm sharing in this post are from the booths of generous designers who are helping us celebrate, and I am very grateful to each and every one of them. I make an effort to keep politics off this blog as much as I can, but it seems to me that loving our neighbors shouldn't be political. As a child of the 70s, I'm also a huge fan of rainbows, so there is a strong visual appeal here in addition to the respect for all humans. All of these gifts are completely free with no group tag required, so please be sure to spread the word to anyone who may be interested :)

For my first look of the night, I slipped on the Luas Dacil Dress Pride Edition, one of two free gifts found at their booth. This sexy strapless mini comes in sizes for Erika, Kupra, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, Petite, Reborn, and Reborn Juicy bodies. The modern pride flag's colors appear here with a fun leopard print, which I am loving! I also needed a little snack, so I nibbled one of the delicious lmndrp. - pride cookies (holdables) gift. There are two versions, the Love is Love versions shown here and another with the word PRIDE on rainbow icing, each with a bento hold as you can see above. Just think, here in SL all cookies are sugar free, gluten free, and calorie free so anyone can enjoy :)

Candy Kitten has a treat for us too, called *CK* Sabrina - pride free. The outfit is two pieces, top and skirt, each in sizing for Legacy, Maitreya, and Reborn mesh bodies. The top has detached sleeves and playful ruffles, while the skirt has lace panties built in. Both have a beautiful image of a rainbow above the word HUMAN, filled in with various flag's stripes as a touching tribute to all of us falling under the same umbrella.

Two gifts make an appearance here, so let's start from the top...which would be the SEKA's D-Pull Crop PRIDE 2023 GIFTIE. There are 3 versions, labeled as PRIDE1, PRIDE2 and PRIDE3 in the folder, all included in eBody Reborn, Kupra A/B, Kupra Flat, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, Maitreya Flat, and Petite mesh body sizes. The notecard made me smile, explaining how the designer came up with the pride theme and added the LOVE nipple tapes for us :) They all go really well with the Belle Epoque - Pride Skirt gift, a low slung mini in frosty white with a gorgeous pair of rainbow wings on the rear. We receive sizes for eBody, Legacy, and Maitreya bodies in this thoughtful gift. Our observers receive a touch of booty cleavage ;)

Next I changed into the charming [ILAYA] gift called Beena Dress & Jacket~ {Love Is Love}. The dress and cropped jacket are both inky black, with the dress reading "Love is Love" in red on the front, and the jacket featuring a rainbow ombre hood. Each piece is provided in Legacy, Maitreya, Petite, and Reborn mesh body sizes, and we also get a materials HUD for each. I love a good t-shirt dress, casual and comfy which means versatility to me, and the jacket is a great addition if you go somewhere that might be a bit chilly.

My final look of the evening is the Female Pride Outfit by Rainbow Rhapsody, which also has a male version that is equally stunning and colorful :) The top and pants will each fit Freya, Gen X Classic, Gen X Curvy, Kupra, Kups, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, Petite, Reborn, Hourglass, and Physique bodies, with a 3 color HUD for the shirt. That lets us choose from black, white, or grey as our backdrop for the pride stripes on the front which have Love, Respect, Freedom, Tolerance, Equality, and Pride written across them, and the back reads "Spread Kindness around like confetti". I am all on board with that saying!! I was saying earlier that it costs nothing to be kind to people, but being unkind can cost that person more than we'd ever know. 

Whew, let the weekend begin! It was a heck of a week, and I'm still dealing with anxiety and stomach issues that might make my trip to the farmers market uncomfortable tomorrow, but I know last week I got through it and it was very worthwhile. It was hot today but should be about 20 degrees cooler when I go out, so that will be a nice relief. A Shopping Carol Hunt

 Hiya everyone! Tonight I have several free hunt prizes to show you, from A Shopping Carol Hunt. This special event features a new release from each participating store, and a hunt prize hiding inside a round golden bell on a red ribbon. I suggest getting the free HUD from the marketplace and use the notecard in that folder for hints, or you can use their website to travel from location to location. Either method will provide preview images so you know what you get to claim, and you can see the new releases ahead of time to plan your shopping :) I got some great ideas while exploring the hunt path, and picked up enough terrific free hunt gifts to ensure a well-dressed holiday season.

My first look of the evening is the hunt prize from Faida called Emma 2 Carol Ed. There are two versions included, with and without the adorable baby reindeer on the front, each in sizes for Legacy, Maitreya, and Maitreya Petite bodies. The combination of pale grey knit sweater and plaid wrap skirt is a very stylish one. 

I combined two prizes for my next look, and was very pleased with the results :) The top is the Caroline Top from {Valentine}, which comes in Freya, Legacy, Legacy Perky, Maitreya, Maitreya Flat, Maitreya Petite and V-Tech versions. There is also a HUD included with 14 color choices for the buttons. My pants are from Slackr, their Meggins {Sorry Santa} SCHunt leggings. It looks like Santa had an accident and rear ended my rear end ;) The gift includes Legacy and Maitreya sizes, in a snowy white with the Santa image on the back. 

Next I kept the Slackr pants on, but changed tops to the clever Blue Flower prize called Xmas Emoji Top. It comes in sizes for Freya, Legacy, Legacy Perky, Maitreya, and Maitreya Petite, and has a wonderful menu you can access just by clicking the top. Please read the notecard for full details, but my summary is that there are 12 images to choose from for the front that can also be set to change randomly (you choose a time interval) and the shirt can be clicked by anyone and changed too :) You can set the privacy if you prefer so only you can change it, although I think it would be fun to see what holiday emoji other people like too. 

This beautiful dress is the prize from On A Lark called *OAL* Meryl ~ Sweetheart. It has a plunging neckline and intriguing twisted straps in the back, with fun tied belt creating a floppy bow. Find the bell and you can claim this in Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh body sizes. 

My final look this evening is the prize from [ILAYA] which is simply named after the hunt itself. The outfit consists of the cropped sweater and tube top each in Maitreya and Maitreya Petite sizes, with matching sweatpants sized for Maitreya too. The petite only applies to the chest size which is why the pants only need the one size. I really like this combination, so I am grateful that I found this hidden bell :)

It has been a hectic couple of days here, but things seem to be improving today. My grandmother had a medical issue (I am trying to avoid gross details) and wound up being taken to a hospital, but because of the virus spiking around here the three closest hospitals to her home were full. She finally wound up getting admitted to a fourth facility last night, and was released a few hours ago so she is safely home. They just kept her for observation, and she is on antibiotics for an infection we were unaware of that is probably in early stages. She is just glad to be home, and I am grateful to all the healthcare workers who treated her kindly when she was confused and worried. Happy Anniversary Kustom9

 Hiya everyone! Tonight's post is filled with gifts that you can claim for free, just by visiting the Kustom9 event for it's 7th anniversary round and joining their free group. Nearly every participating designer has a gift waiting for you at their display, in a brown wrapped gift box with twine and a sprig of greenery to decorate it. I really enjoy celebrating the anniversaries of these long-running events, honoring the fact that they have earned such a following and are able to endure. Their hard work brings us exclusive offers, discounts, and a way to become familiar with new creators alongside our favorites. This particular round of Kustom9 lasts until the 11th of November, so you have time to enjoy.

My first look is the dazzling gift from [Eternus] called (Chocolate) Allurement Dress. It comes in Freya, Isis, Legacy, and Maitreya sizes, and is a very flirty wrap style with asymmetrical hem. The rich color is as flattering as the design itself. 

Some SL activities call for a more casual outfit, so I am also grateful for the [ILAYA] Helena Short and Dee Tank Top gift. They are provided in sizes for Legacy, Maitreya, and Maitreya Petite, each with a HUD offering 16 colors for the cords. On the top the cord is holding the left hem curled up, and the shorts have strings tightening the waistband with 4 metals for around the strings as well. I love how the pattern of the shorts is subtly repeated on the tank top, with the skull image on the front and the tombstone on the back.

Two gifts make an appearance here, so let's start from the top ;) That would be the [[ Masoom ]] Tia Top - Yellow gift, a splash of sunshine in a cropped tee that reveals a hint of under-boob. It comes in Classic, Freya, Hourglass, Legacy, Legacy Perky, and Maitreya sizing. I paired it with the gift from M.BIRDIE which is their Nari look Skirt Gift. It has been rigged for the Maitreya mesh body, in a soft brown suede-like texture with crisp pleats on the front. They look lovely together, but of course you can match them up with whatever you prefer from your inventory.

Oops, I think my avi had an accident ;) At least that is what The Spook Returns Top from Gaia would lead you to believe. This gift comes in sizes for Freya, Legacy, Legacy Perky, and Maitreya mesh bodies, with a 5 texture HUD whose colors all have a suspicious splotch in the center of the top. As for my shorts, those are the gift from evani. called witch shorts. They have playful slits on each side that go almost all the way up to the waistband, with red buttons along the openings. Our gift includes Freya and Maitreya sizing.

For my final look this evening, I kept the Evani shorts on but changed into another top, this time from Luas called Nura Top Fatpack. The cropped t-shirt comes in sizes for Freya, Isis, Hourglass, Legacy, Legacy Perky, Maitreya, and Maitreya Petite bodies. There is also a HUD so you can choose from 8 colors and 5 stickers (the design or logo on the front) or there is an option for no sticker, so the shirt would be blank. I really like the sheen of the fabric, and the "I smell children" sticker (left above) gave me a Hocus Pocus giggle. 

It was another busy but fun day, and the weekend went by pretty quickly because of it. I have an appointment on Tuesday that is really the only big thing planned for my upcoming week, and I am not certain yet how much it will affect my blog schedule. Hiya everyone! Tonight we are celebrating the Uber event's birthday, as their participating designers shower us with gifts. There is no group tag needed to claim these treats, and since it is a very popular and therefore busy place to be, there are 3 sims you can visit to access them. In addition to the main location, there are Harajuku and the Cam Sim where you can use your camera controls to view and retrieve the gifts. All of these presents are in wrapped boxes with gold and black balloons, very easy to find and containing all sorts of thoughtful gifts. This round just opened recently, and lasts until the 22nd of September, so if you cannot get into any of the sims yet please do not worry. There is still plenty of time :) It took me a couple of hours to get lucky enough to find an opening on one of the cam sims, just attempting to teleport every couple of minutes. Worth it!

First I slipped into the gift from Blossom&Seeds, which is their Brooke Uber Gift. It consists of the top and shorts, each in Freya, Legacy, and Maitreya sizing. The bottoms are labeled pants, and at first I thought it was a skirt until various poses including the rear view revealed the shorts aspect. I would call this a skort, but no matter what you personally refer to it as, it is a hot look! The red roses look so vibrant against the teal background.

If you are looking for something romantic, be sure to visit (or cam to) the .Safira. display so you can click their ballooned gift called Mareen Babydoll Night. The babydoll and separate panties are each included in sizes for Freya, Isis, Hourglass, and Maitreya mesh bodies. Most of the fabric is sheer and lacy, but the thong style panties and the belt plus a bit above that belt are solid satin. I was torn between describing this as romantic or sexy, since it really is both :)

Next we see a sporty skirt and tank top combination, the gift from [ILAYA]. Their Scarlett Top and Skirt set is provided in Legacy and Maitreya sizes for each piece, and are mostly black with a teal waistband on the skirt. The top is lifted slightly on one side, for a flirty little touch.

I kept the skirt on but changed tops, to the gift from DEAD DOLL called Knotted T-Shirt. It includes sizes for Legacy and Maitreya bodies, with a terrific HUD that offers 16 background colors and 4 text choices. The texts are 2 colors each of the two you see above, on the left "So Apparently I'm dramatic" and "SHI r T" on the right. I have certainly known people who deserve to wear the saying on the left ;) Sadly the right sums up this entire year so far, with the letter R falling off to reveal a naughty word.

One last treat for this evening, we have the Mimikri gift of their Celeste Bikini pink pepper. Fun fact: my childhood best friend's name was Celeste, after her grandmother, and I do not hear that name very often so it made me smile. So our gift includes sizes for Legacy, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique bodies for both the top and bikini briefs. The bold studs are a fun contrast to the pink color, aren't they? Feminine yet edgy, sure to appeal to many of us.

Happy Anniversary Tres Chic

Hiya everyone! The current round of Tres Chic is their 2nd anniversary, so they are celebrating with many gifts for their group members to claim, and the group is free to join for all. I was impressed by all the generous gifts being offered, and I hope you enjoy the sampling to follow.

My first look is two gifts that I combined for fun, starting with the dress from a v a l e called simply GIFT. It comes in sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Hourglass, Physique, Maitreya, and TMP, with a HUD that allows you to choose from 3 colors, white being the one not shown here. The fun mesh tie is our gift from [Have Unequal] named Rachel Tie Black. It is included in a few sizes for various mesh bodies (Belleza Isis, Maitreya, Slink Hourglass, Slink Physique) but I am guessing it would fit other mesh bodies or the classic avatar too, just try them all on to see which suits you. 

Next I tried on this terrific Sweater Jumperdress {red}, the gift from [ILAYA], which includes a fitted size (Shown) and a Maitreya size. I love the bare shoulders, and the color is just right. I decided to top it off with the elegant Vogue Sunglasses from ILLI, now this gift includes a female slim which is shown here, along with a female resize and male resize too. So their thoughtful gift should cover everyone, and there are always bright days ahead in SL so the sunglasses will go to good use :)

This dreamy dress is the Entice Hey Baby! Dress in Mint, such a pretty style and the color is especially flattering for those of us with auburn tresses ;) Honestly I think shades of blue look good on everyone though. The gift includes plenty of mesh sizes for all: 5 standard, 5 fitmesh, Belleza Freya, Belleza Isis, Belleza Venus, Maitreya, eBody, Slink Hourglass, Slink Physique, Tonic Curvy, Tonic Fine, and TMP. The fun necklace I am wearing with it is the gift from E-Clipse called CatchMe! Necklace, which includes a very handy HUD to allow you to choose from 8 gem colors and 3 metals. As you can see in the inset, a hand has succeeded in catching the ring that holds the gem, and this playful look can be yours for free with that group tag.

One more for the evening, this gift is the Gisela Dress from O V H and includes sizes for Belleza Freya, Belleza Isis, Belleza Venus, Maitreya, Slink Hourglass, Slink Physique, and a Fitted version. The bright stripes made me think of sunshine coming through slats of window shades on a beach house, and the style is great for the summer. I also wanted to show you a closer look at my new ring which I will be wearing in all future blog photos, this is not from the Tres Chic event but is actually something I found on the Marketplace. It is by Ysoral and is called Luxe Ring Lyanna 4, two infinity bands together and part of a set that have been fitted specially for Bento hands. This purchase (just $99L) includes the Slink Dynamic as shown, along with a Maitreya Bento verison and a Vista Bento one as well. There is also a HUD with 6 metal options and 10 stones, which I am currently wearing as silver and the pink stones although they seem to be picking up some ambient light and reflecting glints of orange. This will become part of my ending credits since it is an integral part of my daily wear, and is now my third wedding band type ring in SL, and I did not want Xan to have to buy a third ring just because of Bento...but he is a kind soul and knows I chose something inexpensive yet versatile. I am a practical wifey :) He knew I bought it, but he slipped me the lindens before he logged out and I didn't even notice in all the chaos of IMs and group notices, so Thank You Xan ♥.

Wild day here, my mom slipped on a wet floor and broke her wrist which will need more evaluation because she has the precursor to osteoporosis (osteopenia) and that could make healing more difficult. Hopefully no surgery, but she'll find out Friday for sure. It's always something, but she is surrounded by people who care and will help her, myself included of course.
