Malus Park Winter Wonderland

 Hiya everyone! Tonight we're enjoying the Malus Park Winter Wonderland shopping event, where you can find lots of exclusive offers as well as gifts for $25L or less. Sometimes at this time of year, we forget to treat ourselves nicely in between being so busy helping others and picking out gifts for friends and family, but I promise that you deserve to reward yourself as well :) We have over a week left to stop by the beautifully decorated region, as the event is open until the 4th of January. My first look of the evening is a fantastic exclusive offer called *MARTINES*JOY1, one of several varieties for $75L apiece. This fabric pattern caught my eye because it whispers Christmas elegance, and the two piece outfit lets us show off a hint of midriff. We receive the top and skirt in sizes for Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, Lara X, Reborn, and Waifu mesh bodies. I'm always eager to see what Psyche's Pstyles is offering for events (and hunts), so I was particularly delighted with their Winter Stars Dress. It's an exclusive offer for Winter Wonderland at $200L, and it consists of the strapless tube dress and cute bolero with choker style strap. They are each provided in Gen X Classic, Gen X Curvy, Lara X, Petite X, Legacy, Bombshell, Perky, Reborn, and Waifu mesh body sizes, and there is a HUD for each piece with 6 colors of the starry pattern. The versatility is absolutely a plus, and the stars are making me think of New Year's Eve for some reason :)

I did mention there are gifts from each brand too, and the one from ~MystRie~ is free! Stripes and snowflakes are a terrific combo, and these are some impressively long nails to really show off the colors and patterns! 

What better way to wrap up this festive post than with a pose where I get to hold candy canes in a heart shape? I'll be spending the day making pizzas with my parents, as we've done for as long as I can remember, just something fun and different to relax and spend time together. For me, this time of year is about love - for friends and family, for neighbors and acquaintances, and generally caring about everyone and wishing the best for all. Malus Park Haunted Hunt

 Hiya everyone! Tonight I've got another wonderful hunt to tell you about, the Malus Park Haunted Hunt. It takes place in the southwest corner of the Malus region, which includes a zen garden, memorial garden, The Refuge, and and oceanside dock. It's a beautiful place to explore, and you'll be looking for tiny pumpkins for $10L or less :) There are hints for some, and preview images for most, on the Malus Park website. I'm always up for any excuse to visit there, lol, and picking up bargains is a perfect reason. You know these hunt prizes are deeply discounted to be this inexpensive, but they are full top quality offerings from the various designers. If your wardrobe or your living space need to be Halloween-ified or brought into autumn, come on down!

My first look is one of the $10L treats from {Monstarous}. Their Agatha Dress Mini includes 3 versions of sleeveless belted dress and bonus sweater to layer beneath, with seasonal prints for the dress and coordinating solid hues for our sweater. They all fit Gen X Classic/Dainty, Gen X Curvy/Dainty, Lara X, Legacy, Bombshell, Perky, Reborn, and Waifu mesh bodies. I'm wearing the dress 1 with its sweater on the left, and dress 2 on the right without the sweater. I am very fond of traditional Halloween designs like this, with ghosts and carved pumpkins and generally non-scary but still distinctive for the holiday.

Malus Park is the home of [Ari-Pari], whose designer is the hardworking organizer of this hunt :) Their $5L Graveyard Outfit prize is an adorable tank top and shorts set, in sizes for Gen X Classic, Gen X Curvy, Legacy, Perky, Lara X, Petite X, Reborn, and Waifu mesh bodies. There's also a HUD of course, which offers 7 colors for the top and 6 for the shorts, with the difference being the black for the top which would make the bottom solid instead of having the intriguing silhouettes of tombstones in rows on our shorts. I love the versatility, being able to mix and match, and the RL weather here is almost still warm enough to wear shorts so I'm completely onboard with this breezy style for this time of year :)

My final look this evening will show you two of the 4 prizes from [ReM], which are all $10L apiece and well worth every linden. Their Witchy Nails are on the upper/left part of the photo, midnight blue with witches flying across the sky in pale gold that makes me think they are glowing from moonlight :) If you like your Halloween with a sense of humor (ditto!) then the [ReM] Cheeky Ghost Nails on the lower/right side ought to do the trick ;) Look at the little stinkers sticking their tongues out at us, cheeky indeed! Instead of saying boo, they must be blowing a haunted raspberry at us, an idea that tickled me entirely too much. It's been a pretty good day, and I think my support group meeting (every other Monday, for anxiety/agoraphobia) went pretty well this evening. I'd had the pleasure of meeting him several times, and you couldn't find a nicer guy who just genuinely loved life and talking to people. I'm trying to fight the urge to trim my bangs since they're poking my eyeballs, lol, but I'll be at the salon on Wednesday so I just have to be patient and try to ignore them. I've been watching Halloween movies on Freeform, which is a fun romp through family-friendly classics that give me lots of laughs instead of the heebie-jeebies.  Hiya everyone! Tonight we are going Down The Rabbit Hole, which is a fun event from EBH (Evil Bunny Hunts) that has a great Alice in Wonderland theme. The sales offers include exclusives from each designer, and there are several group gifts for the Evil Bunny Hunts group. Who can resist the chance to sport a group tag that says "I'm Evil!"? My first look is the lovely {Monstarous} Pastel Spring Floral treat, which is a fun combo of separate dress and sweater, to layer for cooler temps or wear the dress alone for a warm spring day. I was curious and looked up what the name means, and google AI says it is Maori for "precious water" and often used to describe a highly prized possession :)

Are you ready for the weekend? I have this vague sense of dread because of the houseguest who arrives in like 10 hours, and I have a therapy session in about 13 hours that will be a deep dive into my stress of the past week. Also there is some grief over my first Easter without my grandma to help celebrate, so my plan is mostly to ignore the holiday completely. No, that probably isn't the healthiest plan, LOL, but grieving is a complicated process that doesn't really have a right way or clear path. I have been enjoying seasonal things in SL and have shared many here, so it's really just the RL stuff I have been avoiding. More Cupids Curse

 Hiya everyone! Tonight I've got more treats to share from the Cupids Curse Event, as well as an exclusive sales offer you can find there. The gifts are in anatomically correct hearts hanging next to each display, either for sale for $0L or they will distribute the gift when you give it a click. Some weren't ready just yet, but the event lasts until early March (the 8th) so we can always stop by again and check those :) This event brings a darker side to this time of year, broken hearts and goth styling for example, so it is a fun visit for those who are tired of the cute side of Valentine's Day or just seek variety.

Let's start the evening with an exclusive offer! The [Ari-Pari] Desirae Dress has been designed just for Cupids Curse, and is $150L. The beautiful dress has long sleeves and low cut neckline, with a pretty abstract pattern on the fabric in your choice of 20 colors via HUD. We receive sizes for Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, Lara X, and Reborn mesh bodies. I really like the way the skirt gently flares out so it isn't a fully bodycon style, and the wide waistband being a solid color adds visual interest.

[Ari-Pari] also has a terrific free gift at their display, the aptly named Dark Love Dress. I absolutely do love it, from the bows atop the straps all the way down to the ruffled hem. There are Gen X Classic, Gen X Curvy, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, Petite, Lara X, Petite X, Reborn, and Waifu body sizes provided, along with a HUD to choose from 18 colors. Our background is always black, so those colors will appear on the straps, waist, ruffle, and the colored portions of the pattern on the fabric. I'm a fan of hearts all year long, so this is something I'll gladly wear whenever the mood strikes :)

I am so impressed with the fuayu Roman Aya(LaraX) gift :) It does come in the single size mentioned in the name, but I am guessing that with use of a different body's HUD and alpha sections you may be able to wear it with other mesh bodies. The red and fuchsia striped kimono has a wide belt (obi I believe is the name) attached with softer pink floral pattern, mint green trim, and extended long sleeves that I believe are traditional components of this garment. The short hem is probably a modern twist though, and SL is a great way to explore both types of styles :) I do find it intriguing to learn about different cultures' fashions from SL, since so many countries are represented among our many residents.

I wore this shirt at some point this weekend around Xan and asked him not to take it personally, LOL, and he was very good natured about it so please don't take this as a sign that I'm anti-love or not satisfied with my partner :) The {Monstarous} Cupid Rhymes With Stupid top is provided in Gen X Classic, Gen X Curvy, Legacy, Legacy Petite, Lara X, Petite X, and Reborn mesh body sizing, with the text on the front saying exactly what the name does. I've had my issues with Cupid over the years, and I've seen him make terrible mistakes with other people too, so I cannot argue this one. The note in my left hand is NOT a hint either, don't @ me with any funny ideas...it is the humorous BORDERLINE - One night stand gift, a card that comes in left hand and right hand versions that each have 2 different holding poses built in. The card reads "Not looking for a one night stand - 2 hours will be plenty", and my twisted sense of humor had me in giggle-fits ;) I think it goes well with the theme of the event, being very tongue-in-cheek and very much not looking for true love or anything more than a fleeting encounter.

For my final look of the evening, I simply had to show you this adorable CHOU - Mss. Randaf gift. Isn't she a hoot? She has the holding pose built in that you see here, and reminds me of a 3D gingerbread cookie because of the decoration on her wrists and ankles. What was very tricky to photograph is the fact that she has an animated texture mouth, so once that rezzes correctly she appears to be talking to you :) Her mouth is off to the right side of her face, and you'll see teeth as well. I'm also in love with her hairstyle! It looks so soft and pretty, making me want to go hair shopping again though which my linden balance would not appreciate.

Magpie drama here - weather related - so I was getting ready for my 5pm therapy session earlier, gathering my pen and notes and all, when I heard a BOOM and the power went out, and the housemate started hollering. As improbable as this sounds, two trees fell at the same time because of how wet the ground is out there (and how many dead trees my neighborhood has) so one fell in the street and knocked out the power, while the other did a 'Koolaid man' and burst through the living room wall. We have a whole house generator because we have the worst luck imaginable losing power here, so the electronics were working again almost immediately but now we've got a wall that's got 2 holes in it (one about 2 feet long but just a few inches wide, the other about the size and shape of an outlet cover) during 60mph winds and below freezing temps. I signed into my therapy video session and told him what happened, and fortunately he was sympathetic and quickly rescheduled me for Wednesday evening. Meanwhile the housemate taped layers of cardboard over the holes, and I cleaned up the debris (there were chunks of drywall and insulation throughout 3 different rooms, and a piece of PVC pipe downstairs!) after taking the pictures for the homeowner's insurance. As of right now it's been over 7 hours and the generator is still running, the power company has been notified and will get to us eventually. The insurance claim has been filed, and I basically had a horrible panic attack once it all sank in. I sat down in the seat I'd just cleared of debris (anyone sitting there, as I was supposed to be in 5 minutes, would have been injured) and shook like a leaf, nauseated and dizzy.

TL;DR: Trees fell from high winds, one took out electricity and the other damaged the house. Nobody injured, just upset, and all pertinent companies are notified. Now we wait for power, insurance, repairs, and the damn wind to calm down. TL;DR is a reddit thing I believe, meaning too long didn't read, so a summary.

Otherwise I am still in shock, because we always feel like these things happen to other people...but I am really grateful that I wasn't injured, nor my housemate who was standing in the living room and witnessed it all. Even when life is unkind, I think it's important to find the silver linings and try to persevere. That's why I'm here blogging tonight, I'd already had the photos and notes ready to go, so it felt like a comfortable familiarity to stick to my routine. If I need to take time off in the future because of it, I will deal with that as it occurs. I truly hope you are all safe and sound, enjoying your day/evening, many magical magpie hugs to everyone!!

Cozy Thanksgiving Event

 Hiya everyone! Tonight's post brings us to the Cozy Thanksgiving Event at Wonderland Beach, where I've visited and shared treats from many times before :) They do treasure hunts with free gifts for us, and these are in actual treasure chests that open to show off gold and gems when you click them. Most of the chests are hidden in or near the display buildings or carts, and I had a lovely time as always exploring the area. We have until the 28th to claim all of our rewards for finding those chests, so about a week left to stop by and refresh your seasonal wardrobe.

My first look is the beautiful DANI Bamboo Minidress, which is the ladies' prize from Designs by Danielle. There is also a chest for the men, and one for child avatars, so the whole family can be covered here :) This dress has fun spaghetti straps that are doubled in the back, and daring side slits all the way up to the waist. We receive sizes for eBody Reborn, Freya, Hourglass, Kupra, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, and Petite mesh bodies. The fabric pattern is a striking mix of bamboo leaves and flowers, in perfect hues for this time of year.

~MystRie~ has two gifts so men and women each get their own special treat from this hunt :) Their In the Autumn Nights Female outfit consists of the long dress in 3 fitmesh standard sizes (S,M,L) plus Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and TMP body sizing, as well as the headpiece and lantern you see here. The dress made me think of a haunted carnival, and the lantern holds a candle that can be turned off an on by touching it. 

Next I changed into the MESH Thankful Pants Set and Boots by Moonstar, which is one of two gifts I found from this generous brand. The top and pants are one linked piece which comes in 5 classic and 5 fitmesh sizes, along with Belleza, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh body sizing. The boots come in 5 standard sizes, so I'd say if you are using the alpha layer to hide your feet, only the cuff area size matters in relation to your ankles. The top says "thankful & grateful today and every day" which is something I aspire to :) Lately it's been harder for me to be grateful as life hasn't been very kind, but those are really the times that we need to be more appreciative of any tiny thing that does make us feel happy or positive.

I switched bodies for this photo, and I'm laughing at the thought of how that would sound to anyone not familiar with SL at all...this is not a Freaky Friday remake, I just changed from Maitreya Lara 5.3 to Lara X :) That is because the sizes our charming @rOrO Pink & Teal Xavia Coat & Skirt prize contains, and it is clearly worth the few clicks that it took. The coat and skirt pieces each come in pink and teal versions, all in sizes for Erika, Lara X, Legacy, and Reborn mesh bodies. We can mix or match this way, so I've shown the mixes above but the outfit also looks great in the same colors together.

My final look of the evening is the {Monstarous} Webby Nails prize. These long mesh nails come in sizing for Erika, Gen X, Kupra, Legacy, Maitreya, Peach, Prima, and Reborn hands, just pick your brand from the unpacker HUD and hide your body's built in nails (through the body's HUD) then add the nails of your choice. There are 4 numbered versions included, the two colors you see above plus black and white backdrops, all with the delicate spiderwebs on them. I really enjoy the variety! Please ignore the purple thumbnail poking through my lip here, LOL, my mouth moved while I was taking the photo at just the wrong time.

Quiet day here, which is fine by me, and I am really looking forward to dinner with my parents' tomorrow for the first time in 3 weeks. That's mostly because we have some Thanksgiving details to discuss, nothing major but it's nice to coordinate about the little things.
