Renaissance Hunt

 Hiya everyone! Tonight's post features several free prizes from the Renaissance Hunt 2022, whose theme is "Monsters, Myth & Magic - A Bestiary For the Ages". We are looking for small gargoyles, a sample of which is on the hunt sign at nearly every store to give you your hints, and the first stop has a shoulder pet version you can wear to help the hidden ones rez a little faster. There are a few mini hunts that I look forward to each round, as they are fascinating to explore and follow multiple hints to advance a storyline and pick up several gifts along the way. This particular hunt and its corresponding fair/event wrap up on the 25th, so be sure to get started soon :) So many free gifts, and so many terrific participating stores, it is definitely worth the time. The group (Historical Hunts) has a notecard in the group notices with all the landmarks, and they might be able to help you if you run into any difficulties.

Mountain Rose is one of the mini hunts I mentioned, a rich storyline with two paths (I followed both) and 7 thoughtful gifts in total. On the left above is the Mountain Rose Gift #5 - Lady Elf Gown, a full length dress in two shades of salmon pink. There are sizes for Freya, Hourglass, Maitreya, Ocacin, Tonic Fine, and Voluptuous bodies plus a fitmesh M for classic avatars, with the resizable hat included as well. There is a coordinated teal outfit for the men too, among these generous prizes. On the right above I'm wearing the Mountain Rose Female Elf Warrior, which starts with the top in Freya, Isis, Hourglass, Legacy, Maitreya, Ocacin, Tonic Curvy, Tonic Fine, and Voluptuous sizes. The leggings fit Freya, Maitreya, Ocacin, Hourglass, and Tonic Curvy bodies with a fitmesh M size for classic avatars too. Included but not shown are a pair of unrigged boots, which both defaulted to being attached to my right hand, LOL. I will eventually try to adjust them to my feet, but my neuropathy did not allow my hands to accomplish that one just yet ;) This outfit also has a corresponding male version, and I definitely relied on teamwork with Xan to complete this mini hunt so I'm glad he got some useful prizes as well. 

Next I changed into the stunning AdelleArts Renaissance Hunt Female Prize, where you will find a single gargoyle containing both male and female treats. This is their nymth dress which fits Isis, Hourglass, Maitreya, and Tonic mesh bodies, with the flower crown that we can adjust as needed. Included but not shown is a long flowing hairstyle in shiny black, which looks lovely with the flower crown but so did the hair I was already wearing ;) I certainly feel like a magical nature spirit!

KKs Designs has a delightful prize inside their gargoyle called Wood Elf. This unisex outfit consists of the top and pants in system/BOM layers along with an Omega applier, delicate wings, and flexi cape. We can wear the outfit with both, either one, or neither of those accessories if we wish, so this is a versatile little number :)

Another stop I always eagerly anticipate is Thistle Moon Designs, whose gargoyle holds 4 versions of their prize for a wide range of avatar types (female, male, rebirth, and child). This is the TMD Galvanic Womens Gown Red & Silver, a beautiful look that includes a standard fitmesh size for classic avatars, as well as Freya, Isis, Venus, Legacy, Maitreya, Ocacin, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, Tonic Fine, and Voluptuous mesh body sizing. The draped train adds some dramatic length in the back, and the wrapped styling means it reveals the lightning image on the front perfectly :) The men's suit has lightning on the vest, and the other types of dresses resemble the women's but without the draped portion. 

My final look this evening brought me to a new-to-me store called le glamouriste, to find two different gargoyles for this lovely dress and an herbal plant for my home. The dress is their Emelyne Ren Fair'22 Exclusive, with rich layers of a blouse, corset, and full skirt all worn as one piece. It is provided in standard mesh sizes as well as Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Ocacin, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine mesh body sizes. The luxurious fabric has such a romantic feel to it, and I am tempted to wear the AdelleArts flower crown from the second photo above with this dress :) 

It was a quiet day here, and that suits me just fine. The weather was a little bit cooler, and by the end of the week it will be feeling much more like autumn than summer. I watched a little of Queen Elizabeth's funeral, and saw her corgis watching the procession go by...that was the part that hurt my heart the most. As an American I don't know much about the family, but 70 years is a long time to reign and I have sympathy for those she left behind who mourn her. Witches and Wisewomen

Hiya everyone! Tonight we explore the free gridwide Renaissance Hunt X, whose theme is Witches, Wisewomen and Wizards. They were prominent in medieval times, then the new era of the Renaissance brought fear of the old ways so many folks who fell under the witch, wisewoman, or wizard description were forced into hiding. I do find history fascinating, particularly how individuals were affected by changing times, so the mini hunts that are a traditional part of these Renaissance hunts (and Silk Road, both organized by Historical Hunts) delight me when they educate us with notecards and links filled with intriguing details. The hunt ends on the 27th, so I do suggest you get started very quickly if you are interested! We are looking for gargoyles, which for this round are textured grey with red cracks that remind me of cooling lava. There is a picture on their website, and the first stop always provides a shoulder pet that serves as a sample and is said to help the hunt object rez faster at each stop if you are wearing it. 

One of our stops with a mini hunt is Mountain Rose, with an enthralling storyline for us to take part in and find several items along the way. One of them gave me the Female Witch costume on the left, and a corresponding male version. That gift includes the forest fairy glen witch top and skirt each in fitmesh M plus Freya, Maitreya, Ocacin, Hourglass, Tonic Fine, and Voluptuous mesh body sizes, plus a witches broom with familiar (not shown) that you can rez and ride. On the right, you can see the Wisewoman outfit, consisting of a top and skirt in the same sizes as the female witch on the left, with a medicinal plant collecting basket that I am wearing like a backpack. My apron is appropriately smudged for the hard work it takes to find all those herbs, and the tartan of the remainder of the outfit makes sense for the storyline of our adventure. There are several other prizes too, mainly home decor that you will see during the mini hunt.

Thistle Moon Designs has a fun group of prizes too, in versions for men, women, and even children. This is the lovely TMD Modern Magician in Ice Dress, and includes standard fitmesh sizes as well as Belleza, Maitreya, and Slink versions. You will notice a beautiful accessory too, that is the Never Ever !! Necklace "Pagan" fem. Its silver and deep blue combo look so striking with this gown but will easily complement whatever else you decide to wear it with. That prize also includes a male version, which is in an equally striking black and silver combination. 

:.C!L.: is a terrific place to visit for vintage fashion as well as more modern selections, and they are offering a very timely treat hiding inside their gargoyle this round :) It is called Alice 14th century Blue Gown & Hennin, and has a few components to wear together or separately if you wish. The gown comes in a classic M size along with Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Ocacin, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, Tonic Fine, and Voluptuous mesh body sizing. The hennin is the cone shaped part of the headpiece, and the tiara w/ veil is provided too. I am wearing both of those above, and I suggest trying them each on individually to see how they combine to create the magnificent headwear you see. I feel elegantly noble in this look for sure!

Speaking of elegant, COVETED! has treats for men and women in their gargoyle that will add to your roleplay experience or any random day you feel the urge to wear them. This is the charming Raspberry Renaissance Gown + Veil, and that gown is gorgeous with its sweetheart neckline and golden belt to match the shoulder bows. Something else that matches is the veil, with a built in circlet to hold it in place in style. The gown is provided in sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and TMP mesh bodies.

Witchy woman! My final look of the evening is our prize from Kitty Creation, named Witches, Wisewomen and Wizards Female after the hunt's theme. There is a male prize provided in the same gargoyle, so this gift is suitable for all. Our hooded gown comes in sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique bodies, and the prize also includes a simple sleek hairstyle for each size in a light brown shade. I decided to stick with the hair I was wearing since it worked well with the hood, but I do appreciate that the option is there since some hairstyles simply do not cooperate with hats or hoods. I have always been very fond of purple, particularly when combined with black, so this has an extra appeal simply for that reason :) 

Today felt like a more efficient day, since I am not running ridiculously behind my usual schedule, and I had no bizarre dreams to linger and distract me all day like I did yesterday. The weather is getting cooler, so I am wearing longer sleeves and just more clothing in general like slipper-socks. I do enjoy autumn, so I am happy that it is arriving here in RL. Steampunk Wonderland

Hiya everyone! Tonight I have some prizes to show you from the Steam XIII Hunt: STEAMpunk Wonderland. It is a free gridwide hunt with 71 stops, so you will definitely want to get started right away if you haven't done so already since it wraps up at the end of the month. Because of so many different types of stores involved, the prizes range from mens and womens clothing to home decor and accessories and much more. There are hints at the stores on the hunt signs which also have a sample of the gear you'll be searching for, and the website has the links to the stores in case you need them on hand. Several of the stores have mini hunts, so you just may get lost down a rabbit hole or two, plan accordingly ;)

I did mention mini hunts for a good reason, as our very first look here is at one of 12 prizes from the Mountain Rose mini hunt. Just follow your hints in each notecard, and enjoy exploring some fun scenery to find all the gears and claim many generous gifts. This outfit is the Steampunk Alice Outfit, including the dress in standard fitmesh sizes plus earrings, headband, ankle boots, and even the white rabbit doll with built in holding pose. A quick note about the headband, when I added it the attach point was my right hand so I had to attach to my nose instead and edit it into place, but it really wasn't difficult to do and I am no expert at that sort of thing so you can do it too :) The boots are for default avatar feet, no special mesh feet required and you can just remove or hide your usual mesh tootsies which is what I opted to do.

Storybook Cats is offering a more grownup Alice dress, their SBC Steampunk Wonderland Gown for the ladies (separate mens prize in the gear next to it). This lovely sheath style comes in fitmesh standard sizes and Belleza, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique versions so you can get a nice fit for most shapes and sizes. Personally I enjoy visiting here to pet their KittyCats! cats, dozens of which are running loose and make the area a feline paradise.

Next we visit Technicolor Dolls to find their gear, which contains this Wonderland Revisited Set. The dress and shoes (socks are attached to the shoes) are each provided in standard mesh sizing, so try them on and see what fits you the best. Those coppery colored gears look so pretty against the blue of the dress, and the heels echo that color to really pull things together. 

Prism Designs has a well hidden gear for us as well, which rewards us with their Prism Agatha Steampunk Coat Skirt Hat Goggles by Jezzixa. The maxi skirt and tailcoat are each included in standard mesh sizes, while the top hat and copper goggles each have built in resize scripts for a perfect fit. The copper band on the hat made me think my hair was poking through at first, LOL, the color match threw me for a loop. This is quite an elegant gift that I am happy to have found.

My last look of the night is from Eclectic Stars, their Temperance - Steamy Wonderland gown. She comes in sizes for Belleza Freya, Isis, Venus, eBody, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine, with an intriguing pattern on the full skirt with gears, cheshire grins, card suits, flamingos and more. What did you notice first?

If you are a fan of the card game Uno, and good with simple math in your head, I'd like to suggest you try their new Dos card game (might be a Target exclusive or was released there first). It involves two piles instead of one, different types of wild cards, and combining cards to get rid of your hand faster. My family and I played earlier and it was entertaining to say the least :) We learned a few things as we went along and reread those directions several times, but all in good fun. Steamy Wednesday

Hiya everyone! Nope, my night is not steamy because of the weather (still several inches of snow and ice outside) but rather because I am working on the Steam XII Hunt. The theme is From Earth to the Moon, a Jules Verne novel from 1864 which I have not had the pleasure of reading yet but will hopefully remedy that eventually :) Meanwhile the basic idea is to search for the hidden gear at each stop (this round it is silver, other rounds have used various colors of the same shape) and each store should have a sign with a hint giver. If you see footprints on the ground, tan with a pattern of gears inside, that is a path to guide you towards the prize but is not used at all stores. Maybe you enjoy roleplaying in SL, or perhaps you just appreciate a change of pace, whatever your reasoning I hope you find some terrific prizes as I have. This first outfit is one of several mini hunt prizes at Mountain Rose, where each one you find will give you the next clue along with a gift (or set of gifts). This is from #03 and is their Lady Diplomat, part of a set that includes a male prize as well as CK and TD boys and girls each. The ladies' diplomat look consists of the skirt and jacket in standard fitmesh sizes, along with the Steampunk hat with resize script and even the fun spyglass cane shown here in its open version, plus a closed version. Included but not shown because I had a temporary SL glitch are a pair of matching boots. Since I relogged until the glitch went away, I was able to hide my Slink feet to show you other boots and they are much like the one in the third photo below, just colored a deep blue for this outfit.

This is such a fun look! Continue along that mini hunt and you will find this in prize #06, The Inventor which is shown in its Lady version but also includes Mens and CK boy, CK girl, TD boy, and TD girl. The ladies' costume is a one piece layered overalls/shirt in standard mesh sizes, plus the resizeable tool belt I am enjoying so much, and the matching hat with resize script. Even the boots are included and have a resize script too, since comfort is important while you are inventing. Is it weird that my first thought was Steampunk Super Mario?

I am definitely ready for adventure in this prize from stop #09 in the Mountain Rose mini hunt, and it is aptly named The Explorer. Like the others, it has a Ladies and Mens version, plus CK and TD each for boys and girls. The Explorer Lady starts with the sassy dress in standard mesh sizes, the boots which have a very Victorian feel to me (similar but in blue were the ones I mentioned from that first photo above) and let's not forget my awesome backpack and helmet which each have a built in resize script. Included but not shown, a pair of leggings in system layers so classic avatars only. I'm sure I have some appliers for leggings, tights, or pants that could work out just fine.

One last look of the evening, this is the female prize from Destiny's Designs (yes, that does mean there is a male prize too) called Gambler's Lady. It is beautifully detailed, starting with the blouse in 5 standard fitmesh sizes, the skirt and shawl each in 8 fitmesh sizes including Belleza, Maitreya, and Slink. The bowler hat, necklace, and goggles are lovely touches, as you can see in the closer view of that necklace. Included but not shown, gloves in 3 sizes (none of which fit my arms) and hair with a color HUD so you can adjust the color. I have to admit, I was too attached to my newest Truth Hair purchase made just prior to taking these photos, to remove it ;) Her name is Miriam and I chose her because I wanted something with a classic style, and I find those soft waves to be very romantic. 

It has been a quiet day here, although I was informed that the roads are pretty clear but parking lots are not, so going places is fine until you need a parking space. I've noticed that before around here, they seem to feel unburying half the usual spots is good enough but then the brave souls who trek to the stores have to squabble over every spot like a flock of pigeons with a single breadcrumb. Hopefully the temperature will rise enough to melt some of it the next few days, slowly enough to avoid flooding of course. *fingers crossed* I hope you're all having a terrific day/evening, magical magpie hugs to each of you!

Indian Summer and Renaissance

Hiya everyone! Tonight is an exciting post, as the newest round of the Wash Cart Sale has opened today, with the theme of Indian Summer. It runs for 2 weeks (until the 28th of September) and all items are either $10L or each designer can choose to offer a special $50L item for sale. There are a couple of free gifts as well :) The idea of Indian Summer is that transition (all too brief here the past several years) between the heat of summer and the cooler autumn days and evenings. Another enjoyable event is the Renaissance VI Hunt, and this sixth round is themed Myths and Legends of the Renaissance so there are some really intriguing prizes to be found. It is a free gridwide hunt that starts at a Renaissance fair, and there are a few mini hunts to enjoy as well. So would you like some peeks at things to be found from each awesome event?

We start with a gorgeous cart sale find, the Evergreen Dress from Savoha Creations. It is lightweight enough to work for the lingering hot days of summer, but long enough for the breezy evenings. I think the colors remind me of an apple actually, which is a great symbol for fall. Their main store link is here and the cart location (right near their main store!) is in the credits.

Over to the hunt trail, the next 3 photos are actually all from the same stop, #004 Shops of Mountain Rose who have a 12-stop mini hunt. Each prize you find contains a notecard with the hint to the next hidden purple gargoyle (there is an example of the hunt object at every stop, don't worry) and you wind up exploring an amazing area, just a visual treat. This dress is from mini hunt prize #03, the Mesh Lady MacLeod Gown, and there is a classic version along with mens, kids, and toddlers sizes. This gown is provided in standard mesh sizes and the shawl is built in, so our Lady MacLeod will always be prepared to ward off a chill with her lovely tartan.

Perhaps you are more in the mood to be a fairy queen, well when you reach mini hunt prize #06 that dream can come true! This is the Mountain Rose Mesh Skye Isle Fairy Queen, the gown is in standard sizes and the wings are a separate attachment. This is quite elegant and as you can see, the wings have a lovely glow to them. If you have a child avi or an adult male avi, you will be pleased to hear that there are coordinating outfits for you as well.

More wings abound as prize #09 in the mini hunt includes this Mesh Lady Highland Flower Fairy outfit. Again there are male and childrens versions included, these prizes are fully loaded, and the one shown has the mesh dress in standard sizes along with the flexi fairy sleeves and skirt. Look at the glow on those beauties! The bluebell wings are also included and have a stunning shimmer to them. I've shown the dress without the added skirt or wings on the right so you can see what it looks like solo. 

One last look for the night is at the nails I've been enjoying today, which are a Cart Sale find from Rad Designs. This is their Fall Hues HUD which offers 6 deep autumn colors, and is compatible with Slink, Omega, and Maitreya. These mix well, along with each individual design making for a beautiful mani/pedi for the season. I have a few very busy days ahead, but these posts with the amazing Wash Cart Sale finds will be among the highlights since I am so appreciative of the opportunity. Silk Road Hunt Travels Part 3

Hiya everyone! I'm still slipping my way through the Silk Road Hunt, finding some really innovative stores and a veritable goldmine of historical treasures. Allow me to show you some more goodies...

Here we see two different prizes, the beautiful toga and the majestic throne. The toga is from store #056 AdelleArts and comes in standard mesh sizes, and I am truly taken by the crisp linen texture which looks as though if I touched it, it would tickle my fingertips with its rich weave. I am seated upon prize #053 from [Park Place] and enjoying one of 10 female sit poses, there are also 9 male poses built in. Please excuse the poor editing of the shoes, included with the toga and meant for default feet, which I tried to fit to my Slink flat feet but I see a pinky toe popping out the side.

This pose made me chuckle so I just had to share it...this is the Roman Garden Chair from Zoe's Garden #052 with 14 sit poses, this one just happens to make me look like a bored and sleepy child ;) I love the marble texture, and the tassels on the fabric are a great little touch.

For more breathtaking beauty, this necklace from WILLOW is sure to catch your eye! Aptly named Blue Nebula, this is a welcome addition to my inventory and will be worn with as many outfits as I can reasonably match it to. I may go back when I have more lindens to see if they offer it in other colors, or have matching earrings, it's just that gorgeous.

A bit of explanation, when I reached store #064 in the hunt, Mountain Rose, I was surprised to discover that it hosts a 26 prize mini hunt. I cannot possibly show you that many prizes, hehe, and considering that some of them contained about a dozen pieces of furniture or several individual costumes, it would take me the rest of the month (the time frame of this hunt) to give you a fair glimpse at everything you'll receive if you find all 26 pyramids. Instead, I'll give you a couple of peeks and the heads-up that pretty much everything you see while exploring the landing area, can be found in one of those gifts! We've got Roman and Egyptian themed items, from army tents and weapons to Cleopatra's palace and bedroom with all furnishings. In the above photo, you'll see a stunning Cleopatra throne (love the peacock feather pattern on the seat!) and those guardian Bastet statues are built in. My costume is one of the several you'll find, Cleopatra Seductress, and includes the system layer top (PG version shown, sheer also included) and undies, skirt, snake bracelets, winged scarab necklace and earrings. This can be found in #20 of the mini hunt, the throne in #12. Now the crook & flail I'm holding is a separate gift, #18, and the pose to hold it is built in. I really love that, as I remembered from a trip to an Art History museum a few years ago that the crook and flail was a symbol of the Pharaoh's authority. Cleopatra simply must have it then :)

This photo honestly makes me laugh, as my initial intention was to show you a better view of the arm guards I'm wearing which are part of the very detailed Hatshepsut costume from prize #13 in the mini hunt, but my pose winds up looking more like my avi is pleading for mercy after being caught playing in someone else's closet! I had to google to find out that Hatshepsut was a pharaoh with a very long and prosperous reign, remarkable for a female in her time. My costume seems to be as one of her soldiers, and includes the breastplate shirt (system layer) and a solid purple shirt not shown, underpants, helmet, arm guards, belt, Legionaire cape, and toga bottom with or without armor (with is shown). This is for adult female avis, there are also male versions and all in other sizes as well.

Whew, this was quite a post! I'm eager to get this posted and do anything I can to take my mind off that Game of Thrones finale...I watched it on my tivo a few hours ago, despite the internet making sure I knew almost everything to expect.
