Hiya everyone! It was a mostly quiet day, and I have just two places for you to visit tonight to pick up the freebies shown here. There are group gifts from Insomnia Store, whose group is free to join, and there is a better look at a Midnight Mania prize I hinted at yesterday from DanemarkZ. I am always grateful to find free or almost free gifts to share, as it does help us spread our SL budgets a bit further and gives us a chance to wear the designers' hard work out and about (rather than a brief demo) to better appreciate their style. If you like a free gift you pick up, please support the creators by shopping in their store, so they will be able to continue to offer us these freebies :) I know that I personally could never manage to do what they do, which makes me even more glad that there are so many creative and talented ladies and gentlemen out there who keep my avi looking her best.
My first look shows two different gifts found at Insomnia Store, just wear your free group tag and click the various bags, signs, and boxes in the group gifts area to claim them. The dress is their *IS* Doll Mini Dress, standard mesh sizes with a HUD featuring 6 different textures/color combos for the dress, two of which are shown here. On the left I am wearing the *IS* Fur Stole Winter Edition Christmas Gift, 3 sizes that span the range of standard sizes by combining a few, and another HUD for two different textures to the fur itself. They are both white, just different patterns. As mesh, they do move with your arms and it is quite handy in the cooler weather.
I really like the style of our next gift, *IS* Flowers Embroidered Dress Updated, which is two gifts in one since you get the black and white versions in one gift, sized for Maitreya, Belleza, and Slink only but I'm sure with alpha layers you could work it out for a classic body. The scalloped hem is as lovely as the floral designs and slight hints of embossed lace. The long sleeves make it ideal for winter, and if the short skirt seems too chilly, you can always pick out your favorite tights or leggings to wear beneath. I might even use it as a tunic top over some cute jeans.
Another beautiful gift you can claim from Insomnia Store is their *IS* Mohito Rose Dress Exclusive Group Gift, with its fluttery layered skirt and soft bow to top it off. You will find all standard sizes in this box, and it looks like I caught myself gasping or giggling at how sweet this style looks.
Yesterday I mentioned that I could not show you a closer look yet at one of the Midnight Mania prizes from DanemarkZ since SL was being glitchy, well fortunately today the grid was much kinder to me :) So here is that wonderful prize, the DMZ Ten shades of Passion Nailpolish pack. There are, as the name implies, 10 designs to choose from or mix and match, including solids and a subtle marbled look, and that deep grey grid with chains draped across my index finger. Such rich colors, the gloss and shadowing really gives them depth. Hurry and click those boards, they don't need many clicks to lock down each day. The pack includes appliers for Belleza, Omega, Slink fingernails, and Slink toenails.
I have a few busy days ahead, but will still try my best to blog regularly and bring you glimpses of my favorite affordable finds in SL. It is especially challenging after the excitement of the holidays has died down, but there are so many places I have never visited yet across the grid that I am enjoying the exploration. Hiya everyone! Tonight I have another variety for you, from hunt prizes to group gifts to Midnight Mania prizes. The hunt is the Cute & Curvy 2 Hunt, a dollarbie gridwide hunt with a great array of participating designers who have hidden terrific prizes in their tiny lollipop hunt objects. Just follow the hints, find the sweet treat, pay it a linden, and you've got yourself a very inexpensive addition to your wardrobe. The group gifts I mentioned are a couple more for Fabulously Free in SL, FabFree for short, and they have a whole list of group gifts here. I have shown some before, and am delighted to share a couple more tonight.
First we have a hunt prize from Lady Dragon's Designs, their (CnC) Ladies Outfit which consists of the B&W Poka Bibs pants, Bikini, and Sassy Top. The pants have standard sizes plus Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Physique, and Hourglass versions, while the tops each come in Hourglass, Maitreya, Slink, and Toxic sizes only. I love the variety, and I'll bet those pants would look just as cute with a plain white or black crop top, tank, or simple tee of your choosing as well.
One of the fun FabFree group gifts can be found at Pretty Kitty Designs, just wear your group tag (FabFree is free to join as always) and you will find this Victoria V3 outfit in a bag on the counter. The top and pants each come in 8 sizes (standard, Belleza, Maitreya, Slink) and as you can see, they each have eye-catching details in monochrome.
Remember the last time I blogged FabFree group gifts, and I had found that wonderful feathery corset outfit at Glitter? Well it seems there is another gift there too, the Angel Corset is still there but we can also claim a more casual classy look. Here you can see their DORA mesh outfit in Beig, top and leggings each in standard mesh sizes. From the landing spot, head down to the far end of the courtyard and you will find the main Glitter store, go in and turn right and there is a wall of gifts for many groups including their own. I only mention this since I was a bit lost the first time I visited :)
I have another case of "remember when" for all of you...I had posted a gift from Snowpaws for the FabFree group, then that very evening they changed out their gift which I did not discover until I published my post. I still feel badly about that case of poor timing, but I hope seeing this gorgeous Segalle Halter Dress in Blue Flower can make up for that :) This is the new gift from Snowpaws, and is a beautiful way to accentuate your curves in 5 standard and 5 fitmesh sizes. It looks like shimmery satin, just begging to be touched.
DanemarkZ has a treat for all of us, a pair of Midnight Mania boards that do not require a group tag to click and they have a very reasonable target to help them lock down easily. One of the prizes is proudly on display here, their Princess Lingerie #04 in system layers and an Omega HUD. The strapless bra and bikini panties have sweet polka dots and a hint of lace at the edges, and a couple of well placed bows as a finishing touch.
Nail note of the night: the other Midnight Mania board at DanemarkZ has their sexy DMZ Ten Shades of Nailpolish Pack, also with a target of just 20 clicks, and I wanted to share a closer look but SL would not cooperate. I noticed close up that when I applied the nail polish, my Slink nail would partly disappear like there is an alpha issue happening, tried re-wearing the hands themselves and changing nail styles (on/off, stiletto, medium, etc) but I could only see them normally with a default polishing from the Slink HUD itself. Relogged completely, no improvement, so I will try again tomorrow. There are 10 designs to choose from, shades of blues and greys either solid gloss or a subtle design that reminded me of marble or concrete, and there is even a choice of black with silver chains draped across the nail.
I am starting to think my mood for this week can be summed up with a question: is it nap time yet? ;) I think feeling tired and drained is becoming a mood since it is seeping into my outlook on things. It will be okay, life is generally good, I will always find reasons to smile. Hiya everyone! Tonight I have more gifts to share from the Designer Showcase 6th anniversary round. All you need to do is join their free VIP group and wear your tag to claim gifts from just about every designer participating. I enjoy visiting to see what exclusive offers are there, in addition to the generous gifts this round. I also had fun with a very short hairstyle which is one of the two styles in this month's Truth Hair VIP gift.
The first thing I usually wind up doing after a big change to my hair (and I suspect most of us do) is head for a mirror and inspect it from various angles. So I am in the bathroom of my skybox, feeling the lightness and the crisp ends. I decided to try on the very pretty gift from zanze, their [ZE] Eirwen Sweater in Red which comes in sizes for Slink, Hourglass, and Maitreya. I am also holding the lovely purse from Ghee, their Sequined Purse which looks to be an exclusive for the event. With shades of black and white, it will be a versatile addition to your wardrobe.
Then I decided to go even more casual, the comfy cozy 1 Hundred Pullover Set in Grey. This amused me because one of the HUDs (multiple tabs with several appliers on each, chances are your mesh parts are represented) has NP in the name and I thought it stood for no pockets...turned out to be no panties :) That version is on the right, the one with panties on the left, on both sides I am also wearing the sculpted hood which has a resize script built in. Besides the two HUDs, there are system layers for the classic avatar lovers as well. I am wearing one of my favorite marketplace gifts with these shirts by the way, the Delizio Jeans which come in several colors and with HUDs for Maitreya and Omega along with their system layers.
Sometimes we need something pretty to wear beneath our new outfits, or if you are staying home with someone special, instead of ;) This thought led me to the beautiful Princess Lingerie #02 which is our gift from Danemark Z, in system layers as well as an Omega applier. The peachy pink color is stunning, and the little details like the soft lace and tiny bows are especially nice. I also decided to try on the remarkable gift from Moondance Boutique, their Nancy Earrings and Necklace. These beauties can be adjusted to match any outfit, just by clicking either earring or the necklace to bring up their very handy menu which offers 17 colors for each set of gems (inner and outer in this case, you can see that better in the inset) and 8 metal options including less traditional choices like crimson. Endless possibilities, and a resize menu too!
Another jazzy dress and even more jewelry, here I have tried on the KiB Creations gift of Serenity Lace Dress Teal, in a gorgeous color and texture. It is included in 5 standard, 5 fitmesh, Slink Physique, and Slink Hourglass sizes. The amazing jewelry set you see here is one of two gifts from J&W Jewelers, called Journey's Collection Amethyst. It includes the necklace, earrings, bracelet, and a ring for the right hand, each with resize scripts. The other gift is a different style altogether and in pink, well worth checking out.
It looks like I am finally ready to go, in our gift from Evolve Industries called Merry Dress which comes in small, medium, and large mesh sizes. The colors are a wonderful match for the present from LEGENDAIRE called Aishas Gift, consisting of the shoes for Slink high and the matching clutch you see here in 2 versions with different hold poses. I also have included a closer look at my nails, yet another group gift for the Designer Showcase VIP group. This is from BAXE and called My Heart, a HUD for Slink nails with 4 bold designs in red and gold.
Quick skin note: I am enjoying the current group gift from 7 Deadly s{K}ins called Madelief, in a new skin tone named Cotton Candy. It included several appliers including Omega, which suits my Slink body/hands/feet quite well. Since I am playing with a blonde shade for my hair, I thought the lighter skin tone was a natural match.
Running late tonight, stayed at a visit to my family longer than I expected and it threw my timing off this evening I'm afraid. It was worth it, I had a very nice time :) I hope this weekend holds wonders for each of you, magical magpie hugs to everyone!!

Hiya everyone! I had the pleasure of visiting the Swank Event and exploring their hunt as well, and I have some goodies to show you from both the hunt and the group gifts found at the main event. Their group is free to join and there are several signs scattered about to click, easy peasy. This month naturally has a Halloween theme, along with the majority of the grid it seems :) Here are just a few treats to be found...
First I am sporting a prize that can be found in the hunt area, which can be reached by teleport pad at the front door. You are looking for slowly rotating witches (flat prim) black with a slight orange glow to them. The best advice I can give you is that things that look solid in SL are not always so, and the figure at the other end of the room is actually a guide to a portal (just walk through!). In the hidden prize from RGDW you will find this very cute Ruffle Denim Short Shirt and Skirt. The seasonal pattern on it is quite subtle, but I really like the mixture of pumpkins, bats, and fall leaves scattered about the fabric. Standard mesh sizes for each top and skirt, and wowie is that a short little skirt!
I showed that first so I could then use the skirt for modesty's sake to share some of the free group gifts, lots of great tops. This sweet sweater is from DaneMarkZ and is called Swank Sweater in Blue Pine. Such a terrific color, and I'm a big fan of the soft ruffles.
This pairing might not have been my best idea ever, LOL, but please ignore the skirt and focus on the stunning gift from *HH* :) Their Ladies Mesh Boyfriend Blazer n Tee with the Sugar Skull design are a group gift and in several mesh sizes, with amazing colors and a great vibe of casual but quirky.
Combining sexy and spooky, this sheer mesh cobweb lace top is our group gift from Paisley Daisy, and comes in standard sizes (I am wearing the M here). No alpha layer because the goal is to see the skin beneath, although I am not wearing any sort of pasties and it doesn't look inappropriate as far as I can see from this angle. I'm sure I could find some cute jack-o-lantern pasties if I wanted to wear this in public safely, and I'm sure any black or orange skirt or pants would look terrific with it.
A really eye-catching decor item that I couldn't resist sharing, this is a Swank group gift from Snuggles and is the chair, cobweb, broom, cauldron, sweetly carved pumpkin, and bag of candy corn all rolled into one piece. This is simply decoration and can't be sat upon, but I wouldn't want to sit on the cute smiling jack-o-lantern anyway because he deserves to be seen.
No real nail note of the night, as I used the default Slink HUD and chose a simple French manicure/pedicure. It really does make things easier sometimes :) I hope you're all having a wonderful day/evening, magical magpie hugs to all!!
