Halcyon Days at SL19B

 Hiya everyone! Tonight it is time to visit the Halcyon region at the SL19B Shop and Hop event, which is a celebration of the 19th birthday of our beloved Second Life. The SL destination guide will help you where else to explore during these final days, and it has links to all 20 of the shopping regions if you haven't visited all of them yet. There are 20 designer displays per region so that is 400 creators offering exclusive items, discounted sales, and of course free gifts. The general theme is Steampunk, so the regions are decorated accordingly and are a visual treat to go with the gift treats :)

First this evening, I slipped into a charming ruched floral dress from [4U] which is their UNDERWATER Collection ~ 008 gift. There are sizes for Freya, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, and Petite bodies included in this gift, all decorated with blossoms in various shades of pink on a sage green background. I definitely like this as a summer look!

In a striking nod to the steampunk theme, this is the >>GothiCatz<< SL19BGirl - minidress which is one of two gifts available at their display. The other is for the guys, so be sure to bring anyone who wears a male avatar as well :) This halter mini has tiers of ruffles alternated in black and plaid, with gears and the word PUNK on the upper bodice. It comes in fitmesh standard sizes along with Freya, Isis, Venus, Kupra, Legacy, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine mesh body versions. 

I had a lot of fun with the HUD for this next gift, the JUSTINE dress from AlaFolie. The bare shouldered formfitting dress has a playful ruffle across the top, so it will highlight your favorite choker or bold earrings if you wish to accessorize. The dress fits Legacy, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and Tonic Fine mesh bodies, and the texture HUD has 4 vibrant options like the two seen above. 

We are certain to turn heads in this Son!a-Edge gift called Petra Dress. It has the appearance of two pieces but wears as one, in sizes for Freya Perky, Isis Perky, Legacy, Legacy Perky, Maitreya, and Petite bodies. It is adorned with gold beading, lace trim at the lower hem, and 3D flowers down each hip. So detailed and gorgeous! I love the color, and I am pretty sure this is a materials enabled creation that will need your viewer to be set for advanced lighting so you can see gold reflections on the fabric. 

My final look of the evening is the flirty .HS. Annie Dress - Shop & Hop Exclusive Gift by Hot Stuff. There are Erika, Kupra, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, Petite, and Reborn body sizes, and our gift also includes a HUD with 6 dress textures and 6 coordinated colors for the trim. The patterns have a similar color set but very different styles, like the cheery rainbows on the left and the stripes on the right. The hem is extra short, and the hips have scooped cutouts so this is a bold look for when you want a revealing dress. 

I am 100% ready for this weekend to begin! My houseguest just arrived, and we have exciting plans that include an upgrade for my PC. It'll be getting a new solid state hard drive, and I am not sure what else because I don't speak 'tech' ;) It has been getting slower and slower lately, particularly from photoshop and SL, so it is simply time to enhance it wherever possible. SL19B Gets Frosted

 Hiya everyone! Tonight we take a look at some of the free gifts found on the Frosted region at the SL19B Shop & Hop, one of 20 regions in this 19th birthday extravaganza. It is amazing to think of all that has been created and has evolved in Second Life during almost 2 decades, and I have been delighted to witness much of it. The shopping portion of the event has a few days remaining, and nearly every designer is offering a free gift in addition to discounted offers and exclusive items. Every time SL holds a Shop and Hop event, it is always well worth visiting!

For my first look of the evening, I slipped into the lovely ::ALTER::Fany Mini Dress / Nude gift. This ruffled wrap dress has slit sleeves and is tied in the back just like on the sleeves, in a soft beige shade. Our gift includes Freya, Hourglass, Kupra Bimbo, Legacy, and Maitreya mesh body sizes.

Then I had fun trying on both versions of our [[2Love]] Hanna Top & Skirt gift, Nude and Orange. Each is packaged separately with the top and skirt in sizes for Freya, Hourglass, Legacy, and Maitreya bodies. Since they are individual pieces, you could mix and match the tops and skirts if you wish :) The pinky tan and the burnt orange colors do go well together, don't they? Especially since both have a sparkly looking texture.

Our gift from MONOMANIA is their Gentlewoman Choco outfit, one of the few that adheres to our Steampunk theme of the event :) The blouse with vest (one piece) and pants are each provided in Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique sizes, while the shoes fit Belleza, Maitreya, and Slink mid height feet. The rich brown color definitely reminds me of dark chocolate, and there is a refined air to this outfit that straddles the line beautifully between masculine and feminine.

One of the best parts of multiple gifts is the chance to combine them to create a new look, like I did here. I started with the [ADD] Beverly Dress - OrangeC, which fits Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, and Petite mesh bodies. The scoop sides and mostly bare back are beautiful details, as well as the plunging neckline laced loosely together just above the navel. Then I added the gift from Dark Mouse called *DM* Abstract Leaves Necklace & Earrings. Each of these has a HUD so we can choose from 4 metals and 4 pearl colors. You can see a closeup view of the necklace for a better idea of the leaves and the way the pearls resemble berry clusters. 

My final look features a new feathery friend I made at Shop & Hop, although instead of feathers he seems to be intricately carved and painted :) It is the :[P]:- Chonkbird Gift - from Petrichor, and has a built in hold pose to show off our bird in your choice of 8 colors via HUD. I love birds of all shapes and sizes, so I definitely couldn't resist this chubby cutie. 

It was a busy day making plans for the weekend, and I watched another episode of Stranger Things (one more to go before the final two are released very soon) that had my mind reeling. So many answers, so many more questions! The storyline has always pulled me in, even if the gore this season has been challenging for me. I look away a lot, but am still getting the gist of it. My houseguest will be arriving late tomorrow evening, probably while I am in the midst of blogging, and will be here until Monday evening. I am planning on taking my usual Saturday off from blogging, no other changes at this point but something could come up last minute I guess. Shopping and Hopping

 Hiya everyone! Tonight I chose the Snowflake region from the SL19B Shop and Hop, one of 20 regions filled with designers' displays where we can find exclusive sales, discounts, and free gifts. The various gifts are the focus of tonight's post, as I have selected a handful to share that I hope will tempt you into visiting :) I have seen two different ending dates for the event, the 5th or the 10th of July, so I am guessing we have at least a week left to explore all the wonders that SL19B has to offer.

My first look this evening is the neve gift - sl19b love. This outfit is a shirt and shorts linked together as one piece, in sizes for Freya, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, and Petite mesh bodies. The HUD brings the magic with 4 options each for the shirt and shorts, with the ability to hide either piece so you can wear with something else or play a naughty game of peekaboo with that special someone ;) The top has a swirly line that works its way into the word "love" on the left side, in a rainbow of colors on the black background color as a nod to pride.

Speaking of pride, I also picked up a wonderful gift from .PrettyDeceased. called Mar Bodysuit Pride Edition. The rainbow-drenched bodysuit has full ruffles on both hips, and the top is framed with metal to surround the (optional) starfish pasties. The suit and pasties each come in Kupra, Legacy, Maitreya, and Reborn mesh bodies, and there is a HUD with 3 metal colors (silver, gold, black) and 4 transparency options for the ruffles. So sexy!

Next I tried on two different gifts that are both lovely tops :) On the left is the adorsy - Joudy Top SL19B Gift, which is a boat neck top in soft pink that reads "simply adorable adorsy". There are sizes for Kupra, Legacy, Maitreya, and Petite sizes via an unpacker HUD that lets you decide which size/s you want delivered instead of having all of them in your inventory. This is helpful if you stick to one or two mesh bodies like I do, but have dozens of different sizes you might never wear. Then I changed into the Manikin - Q-Tees - Aloha - SL19B Gift on the right, a tighter cropped style with similar edges and a deep red color. There is an arrow pointing right, then the wording "ALOHA Summer" with the O replaced by a hibiscus flower. This treat includes Kupra, Kups, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, and Petite mesh body sizing. Both of these work really well with the white Delizio jeans from their fatpack that is free on the marketplace. 

This colorful beauty is the RosenRot - Gisela Dress - Gift, a mini dress whose halter strap connects to a vertical strand and two horizontal bra straps in the back for a fascinating look. It is provided in eBody Reborn, Erika, Kupra, Legacy, Maitreya, and Petite mesh body sizing. With all those fun colors, it will go with so many different shoe shades and any jewelry that makes you smile. Personally I think a bangle bracelet or bold solid colored earrings will do the trick. 

My final look of the night comes from KEY STYLE, their elegant vintage styled gift called MADAMOISELLE OUTFIT. The shirt and skirt each come in Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique sizes, with flat shoes to fit Maitreya and Slink feet. The hat seen here is also included, in all its wide brimmed, floral decorated glory, and a matching umbrella can complete your look if you wish.

Flirty Shop and Hop

 Hiya everyone! Tonight we are visiting the Dahlia region of the SL19B Shop and Hop event, one of 20 regions packed with vendors for a total of 400 participants. Pretty much all of them have gifts for us too, ranging from clothing to accessories to home decor or even store credit so you can choose your own treats :) I try to stick to just one region at a time to keep things relatively organized, and you can start in any one of them and work your way through the giant loop to eventually visit all of them.

My first look is our gift from Faida, called Uma floral. This lovely dress comes in sizes for Kupra, Kups, Legacy, Maitreya, Maitreya Flat, and Maitreya Petite mesh bodies. The crossed straps in the back are a great touch, and I am a huge fan of floral patterns so this gift immediately made me smile.

Next I slipped into the + Fallen Gods Inc. + Pixie outfit, rainbow gift. There are male and female versions with the main difference being the upper portion in addition to the lower. These delicate wings come in system/BOM layers of various types, and we can wear the top and bottom separately if we wish. The coloring looks magical, and the rear view of the bottom reveals a thong style to really show off the bum cheeks. 

Another seductive gift is the !dM "Thetis" SL19BIRTHDAY GIFT from deviousMind. The top, bottom, and pasties are each provided in gold and pearl versions that fit the Maitreya mesh body, and an extra pair of unrigged pasties in each coloring. I am wearing the gold on the left above and the pearl on the right, so you can see the differences particularly the hue of one of the pearl strands. The back view is pretty much just strands of pearls, so it is very revealing! We don't have to be mermaids to enjoy this gift, but it sure makes me feel like one :)

One of Grumble's gifts for us is this charming Roxie Dress-Unicorn. It fits Altamura, eBody Curvy, Freya, Isis, Hourglass, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, Petite, Tonic Curvy, Tonic Fine, and Tonic Minim mesh bodies. The magenta mini dress is gathered on both sides and imprinted with striking artwork of a unicorn surrounded by greenery and blossoms. 

I think I forgot to mention last night that the theme of this year's event is Steampunk, as many of the offerings do not stick to the optional theme. However, my final look of the evening certainly does! It is the gift from .::BE BOLD::. called Steam Cat, and it is an entire generous outfit. The dress and boots come in Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique sizes. The gloves fit Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique hands, and we can wear the provided leather collar and mask on nearly any body/head since they both have resize scripts built in to adjust. On the right I am wearing just the dress and boots without the gloves, collar, or mask, so you can see another possible way to wear it.

It was a quiet day which suits me just fine, and I am making plans for the long weekend when I will have a houseguest :) There are two people who occasionally stay here, one I get along with very well and one I do not, so I am relieved that it is the "good one" this time. I don't have to hide, LOL, and I get to be a part of the plans, so it is a positive thing to look forward to. I hope you're all having a pleasant day/evening, many magical magpie hugs to everyone!!

Shop and Hop SL19B

 Hiya everyone! Tonight it is time to head over to the SL19B Shop and Hop, a massive celebration of the 19 wonderful years that Second Life has been in existence. SL19B stands for Second Life 19th Birthday, and I highly recommend checking out the destination guide for details of the festivities. There are 20 regions filled with 400 designers' displays, all of which have a free gift waiting for us among many discounted and exclusive offers for sale. I randomly chose one of those regions to share gifts from tonight, so we are exploring the Hollyhock treats in this post :) I enjoyed every single area I visited, and will continue to share goodies from various regions of the event until it closes its doors in early July.

First we have the charming Entice - Summer Baby 2 - Aqua gift, one of the softest looking lingerie sets I've seen in SL. The bra top and delicately tied bottoms with ruffled legs are each included in Freya, Hourglass, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, and Petite body sizes, and the color calls to mind an ocean view. So romantic!

Not to be outdone, Salt & Pepper brings the romance too with their gift called S & P Elena FATPACK. The bare shouldered dress has full sleeves with the same open weave lace as our skirt, and there is an attached belt gently cinching the waist. The dress comes as an unpacker HUD with eBody Reborn, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, and Petite buttons, each of which will deliver a folder with the corresponding size and the color HUD so you don't need to unpack all the various sizes but can if you wish with the "all" button. The color HUD offers 16 choices each for the main dress and the belt/accent on different tabs, so you can mix and match as I have above. The trim is on the shoulders and the stripe down each side of the skirt.

[P.S.] has a lovely gift for us too, their Three-tiered frills mini dress. It fits Legacy and Maitreya mesh bodies, with a strapless sweetheart neckline and black lace overlay on a pale sunshine yellow fabric. The two lacy selections in a row are a coincidence but one I enjoy since I have always been drawn to the intricate details of a finely wrought lace. 

Next we visit the Gabrielle Hamelin display, where we can claim their charming {GH} Lili Flower Top SLB 19 gift. This versatile bare shouldered blouse has detached ruffle sleeves and a very loose fit to its cropped bodice, and is provided in a fitmesh M size as well as Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Ocacin, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, Tonic Fine, and Voluptuous mesh body sizes. There is also a HUD that lets us choose a transparency level (I reduced it on the right but it is subtle) and click a different tab with 72 colors to tint the floral fabric. It probably won't surprise regular readers here that I am also wearing a pair of the Delizio jeans fatpack we can find for free on the marketplace, as they are frequently seen here to provide bottoms for various tops ;)

My final look this evening is a pair of playful swimsuits from [RNK] called Frilled Bikini Watermelon. The red and yellow versions are both worn as one piece, each in sizing for Legacy and Maitreya bodies. The little seed pattern is adorable, and the green trim representing watermelon rind is a clever detail. I am very curious about yellow watermelon, as I have only encountered it in SL so far and not RL, but it sounds delicious! From what I read it is a little sweeter than red watermelon and has a honey-like flavor, yum :)

Did I just blink and the weekend flew by? LOL! I was going to do some inventory sorting and maintenance, but only got a tiny bit done so that is still an ongoing challenge. Saturday morning was sunny and hot for the farmers market, so going early was a good idea to avoid the midday heat. One of the regular vendors brought his son's dog, a cuddly chocolate lab, and she was in heaven getting so much attention.
