Hiya everyone! Tonight's post features several different styles and colors of hair, which are all found at Hairology and even better, as free gifts for their 2nd anniversary round. Most of the designers' displays have a yummy looking two-tiered cake with chocolate icing on a blue stand, set for sale for $0L with no group needed, so you can claim all these gifts while browsing the exclusive hair offers. We also get to take a trip to Sad November where we can find a perfect cool-weather coatdress from Entice that I am enjoying in all of tonight's photos. Trust me, you will not feel sad when you are wearing this beautiful outfit!
First we have a good look at that comfy, elegant coat dress I mentioned from Entice at Sad November. It's called We Got The Beat, and there are 8 individual colors for sale for $150L each (sizes for Freya, Isis, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and Fitted included in each), or you can get an excellent bargain by purchasing the fatpack for $450L. The fatpack includes a HUD with all 8 colors plus 2 bonus ones (including the teal on the left above) and it lets you change the sleeves separately from the body for even more versatility. I think I need an SL shirt that says HUD Life, I am such a fangirl for HUDs! That affinity predates my blogging history, they have just always struck me as an excellent idea. As for my hair, that is our gift from TUKINOWAGUMA called *TKW* Delrio. It is included in rigged and unrigged versions and comes with a full range of color HUDs: blonde 1, blonde 2, brown 1, brown 2, colors 1, colors 2, natural colors 1, natural colors 2, red/black 1, and red/black 2. I couldn't tell if this gift is meant to be unisex or for men and/or women, but I really like it so I wore it :)
This lovely hairstyle is our gift from RunAway Hair called [RA] Sophie Hair - Recolored, and it includes regular, boobs, and fitted versions. There is also a color HUD with 9 options, as you can see there are very pretty ombres and fades among the choices. The soft waves make for a very attractive style.
Speaking of waves, these beachy looking loose waves are from Damselfly and are called Lena Rigged Mesh hair. There are two sizes (small/medium and large) as well as a HUD with a whopping 40 color choices, solids and ombres in natural and fantasy colors galore. With all those possibilities, you can change your look whenever you wish.
This sleek side ponytail is our gift from Mithral called Oats, and it comes in a soft auburn shade that I normally gravitate towards. There are regular and busty versions included in case your ponytail needs a bit more room to accommodate your curves. You may have noticed I added a pretty accessory around my neck, that is actually the anniversary gift from Pink Hustler called *PH* knit choker. It includes a HUD with 20 color choices for the main band, 20 for the ties in the center, and even 3 metal tones to really personalize this for whatever look you wish to wear it with.
If you cannot decide between wearing your hair up or down, you can always compromise with this free gift from Limerence, named Sonia. This partial updo includes a regular and a boobs version, with a color HUD called Special Set that features 20 pastel choices for you to tint your hair. Those flowing locks and softly upswept bun are ideal for colors that make us think of faeries or mermaids, bringing a touch of fantasy to a gorgeous waist length hairstyle.
I don't generally mind Mondays, but this one was a bit on the frazzled side for me so I'll be happy to greet a new day instead. I was hoping for clearer medical advice from a doctor, rather than repeats of what others have said pretty much word for word, but I am trying to remain hopeful. Hiya everyone! I had been thinking about this one for a while, and I hope this is an idea that is appealing. We have all seen a new resident wandering around seeming lost, or had someone ask us for help, and not everyone keeps a list of resources for newbies handy to be able to help out. So I decided to create a brand new avatar, MidnightMagpie (I'm calling her Maggie as a nickname) and see what I could find out there on the grid. It's been nearly 9 years since I started with my Dawn Tokyoska account, and I barely remember that very first day or where I wound up, other than feeling very odd looking compared to the pictures I'd seen. Ruth in her helmet hair was no raving beauty. First I have to say the new avi choices are a vast improvement and really quite good :) I chose the one who turned out to be named Amy and she has dark hair, a mesh skirt and blouse, stockings and shoes, and there was even a female walk (like an AO only simpler) attached so I wasn't even duck-walking all over! I went through the orientation area and even through the next one, Social Island, a bit and I earned some tokens to buy a couple outfits and hairstyles and such. While I was enjoying myself, the goal was to find as many gifts for 30 days and under that I could, and see what they're like.
Here you can see the brand new Amy starter avi on the left, she is very pretty and not newbish at all. Her outfit is adorable! On the right I switched to the Sophie skin/shape/eyes I picked up on the Social Island from doing tutorials, not a big difference but also very pretty. I am also wearing a new outfit, the Firestorm Social Island has a terrific new resident resource center with plenty of gifts for males and females. I chose their [TFP] Andrea Dress Pinstripe (standard mesh sizes) and their [TFP] Ankle Boots Black, each are free and not labeled as to a specific age for claiming the gifts. Their gorgeous dressing room is where I took all of these photos by the way, as Maggie doesn't have a home location yet and I hadn't authorized her to visit my home yet. I will :) My hair on the right is a gift I found at Free Dove, from !SOUL called Birds - 12 nuances - Browns. There is a HUD with 12 shades of brunette to choose from, and it is a simple sleek style that can be purchased for $0L by anyone of any age.
One of the stores that had me thinking about doing this is at the Kiyomizu Mall, Karin whose lucky boards I have blogged before several times. Their textures are lovely, and they do have a gift for under 30 days old at their mall store. As you can see, it consists of a pretty dress in standard mesh sizes, a pair of socks, and these great matching socks for default feet. It even includes that lovely hair! Speaking of lovely, how amazing is this newbie gift from Pink Fuel? This is one of their 4 shades of Renee skin available free for under 30 days, this is the palest Crystal tone in Pure and includes skin, shape, eyebrows, and a simple black eyeshadow not shown.
I haven't quite decided what Maggie's regular hair color will be, but I must admit she makes a cute blonde :) This is another Free Dove free hair find called Laura by LIKE DESIGN and comes in a Lola version for the more chest-blessed avis ;) The hair is free for all, not just new residents. The clothing are pieces I picked up from Sn@tch's freebie wall, while claiming their Under 30 Day newbie gift in front of said wall (you'll see it in the next photo). The top is the Chastity Bralet in Aqua which also comes in army, blue, peach, pink, sand, violet, and white, system layers only. The jeans are their Camp Relaxed Fit Jeans in black which also include blue, brown, green, purple, red, teal, and wine, plus cuffs that I forgot to add above. I just wanted to show off those sexy lego block feet better? *giggle* That is hard to get used to, when I've been wearing pretty Slink feet for so long. If my RL feet or ankles looked like this, I'd be seeing a doctor immediately.
The outfit at Sn@tch for newbies is Goth with a touch of glam, and a very generous gift indeed. It includes the mesh jacket/top (West Side Jacket Wine) and skirt you see here (Lowdown Dirty Denim Mini), the suede wristbands, Hippie Choker, Pop knee socks, Spinner High Tops, and even the Bed Head Mesh Hair in charcoal. Not shown but included are a skin, shape, eyes, and earrings because the hair hid them.
One last look for the night, this is perhaps a bit of a cheat that I tried and it worked ;) This is a Rez day gift from Entice, and well it's her actual day of rezzing so I guess it counts! They actually offer 2 gifts, this is Entice - Secret Love Dress - Birthday in standard mesh sizes with a HUD for all 3 color choices you see above. I tried out another Free Dove hair gift here, Damselfly Dove in Brown Caramel/Warm which sounded tasty, LOL, and comes in dozens of colors in cool and warm tones, free for any age.
All in all, this is an interesting experiment that I plan on revisiting every couple or few days, to cover more of the newbie gifts around the grid. It's not replacing my regular blogging, just a supplement, so the next time you see a new resident wandering around lost or someone asks you for help, you'll be able to direct them to a few places. We all have to start somewhere, and seeing what's out there for free will help newbies get acclimated before investing much money into our world so they can decide if it's the right place for them. If we are kind to them, that may help them see why we love it here so much as well. All these posts will be tagged Under 30 Days for ease of finding them.

Hiya everyone! Tonight I am sharing another handful of gifts from the Hair Fair 2016, this time from the Backlot Central sim (Iridium). There are 4 sims involved plus adjacent sims to cam from, in case the sim you wish to visit is full when you go. I highly recommend stripping down to avoid lag, so leave the mesh body & bits at home (I waddled around in my lego feet and hands and a system layer outfit) and check your script count to make sure it's as low as possible. I was at 6 scripts for my visits and still crashed many times, but I do have crashing issues occasionally. This is one event that is always worth the visit :) As usual with the Hair Fair photos, please click each so you can see it full size since they are pretty big.
My first look of the night is the gift from Little Bones, with their beautiful Gem hair and its Variety HUD. This gives you 8 Natural and 8 Unnatural coloring options, all great choices and I must say, quite flattering to this versatile style. Love those waves!
Our gift from Alice Project is called Faye II and consists of two different lengths of this sleek sexy bob with basics and mirror ombre versions of each, plus a bevy of HUDs for every imaginable color or combination. They include Anime, Basic Colors, Basic Naturals, Color Essentials, Essentials, Fading Spring, Glitter & Streaks, Essentials Color Ombre, and Essentials Mirror Ombre. On the left I chose a base color from the Basic Naturals, used the Streaks option (found on every HUD) and added a lighter shade from that same HUD for my streaks. The middle is from the Glitter & Streaks, but I didn't use the streaks feature just chose a pretty red with purple streaks built into the color already. The right is the Long version of this hair, in a pick from the Fading Spring HUD. On the left, I'm not giving myself side-eye, just trying to decide which length works best for me ;)
I feel like a mermaid again! This is Damselfly's gorgeous gift of Unity in rigged mesh, two different sizes (sm/med and lg) and several fully loaded HUDs: Bubblegums + faded, Dk Blondes + faded, Dk Browns + faded, Dk Reds + faded, Lt Browns + faded, Lt Blondes + faded, Lt Browns + faded, Lt Reds + faded, and Tuxedo + faded. You can see how pretty this looks from the back too, another very generous gift.
Perhaps you would prefer something in a shorter style, maybe an asymmetrical pixie? Head on over to the Iconic booth and pick up their gift, which is this playful COCO hairdo with All Hair Dyes included. The HUDs consist of bombshells, brunettes, obsidians, specials, vamps, and variety, and there are system layer hairbases along with a Lelutka HUD included as well. I can easily see that there will be times I choose this as an alternative to my usual updos or long waves :)
Outfit note of the night: another fun hunt prize from the Flirty Summer Hunt can be found in the cute crab at Moonstar. For just $1L you can claim this Flirty Red Bikini and Accessories which includes system layers, appliers for Tango, Maitreya, Slink, and Omega, and the sarong you can almost see in my first photo plus a pair of red sunglasses which both have resize scripts built in. The texture is unbelievable, those ruffles and bows on the bikini top look like they have to be mesh or sculpted, don't they? I was very impressed by them. While you're there, be sure to check their Lucky Boards and Mini Manias upstairs for some great free prizes with no group tag needed.
It was another busy day, tiring but overall enjoyable, and I am preparing for a few more hectic days ahead. I had a really good Pokemon GO day, hehe, finally being in an area with more than just the occasional rattata and pidgey. We have been warned of a heat wave in the area with temperatures of 105 degrees expected, so I need to be careful not to overdo. Hiya everyone! The FaMESHed event is celebrating their 4th anniversary, and if you visit before May 27th (plenty of time yet!) just join their free group and you can pick up a free gift at nearly every stand. It is still fairly busy, but there are some wonderful things to be found. I have a few peeks for you of course :)
First we have a summery looking dress from *COCO* simply called V-Neck Dress. It comes in standard mesh sizes, and makes me think of tennis. The hair is a group gift at FaMESHed too, courtesy of MINA called Juliet. I love this color that it comes in, suits me very well! My pretty butterfly rings are a gift from Cae, their Flutter rings with a great HUD that features 3 metal options for various parts, and 13 gem options for the smaller ones and the larger ones. I adore rose gold and will probably use that choice a lot :)
Next we have this fantastic August Halter Dress in Navy from Coquet. This gift includes standard mesh sizes, and such a playful style. Another gift not to be missed is this stunning hair from Damselfly, their Francie full pack! That's right, all the colors you could possibly want are included in this generous gift, 8 color HUDs and two different sizes of hair.
If you need a slinky dress but want something different than the typical little black dress, I highly suggest this chic gift from Valentina E. Their Arabella dress comes in several mesh sizes including standard small and medium, Maitreya, Slink Physique, and Slink Hourglass. My sunglasses are a FaMESHed group gift from KITJA and come in silver or gold options. That amazing hair is our group gift from Wasabi Pills, a special color of their Marissa hair which is for sale at the event in other colors. I couldn't stop staring at how the colors flow into each other, and those gentle waves...the twists...the tendrils drifting down the breasts...can you guess I'll be buying this in my usual colors as well? :) There is a HUD included for 16 color choices for the accessories, those bands down the middle in the back.
One last glimpse of the night, I kept the previous gifts on but added another, the *{Junbug}* Crystal Acorn Choker in Forest. It's a perfect touch for so many outfits, and I appreciate the touch of nature it provides.
Today was a much better day for me, especially since I finally saw the new groundhog babies living beneath my shed out back :) I wasn't the first to spot them and only saw 3 of the 4 that others saw, but mom was keeping an eye on them and they were playing and exploring a bit. One went up on its hind legs then flopped onto its sibling, either he/she needs more practice or was just playing with the sibling and turned it into a wrestling move, hehe. Spring, new life, new possibilities, this is the stuff that refreshes my soul. Magical magpie hugs to each of you!!

Hiya everyone! If you haven't gotten all of the trick-or-treating out of your system yet, I have great news for you...head over to The Fantasy Collective, join their free group, and click all the pumpkins you see at each display for either a trick or a treat from each designer. Dozens of fun filled gifts are waiting for you, and the pumpkins will be there until the 15th when the event ends so you still have plenty of time.
First we have some makeup treats from Tuli, which include the system layer Band of Thorns, Tears tintable tattoos on separate layers for left and right, and 4 tintable prim lashes called clumpy, sparse, separated, and feathery which I am wearing above but are quite subtle. I didn't change the tint on anything, so you can see them in their default look and decide if you'd prefer to change the colors yourself.
Izzie's decided to go with some makeup artistry treats as well, and this is just a sampling of their playful gifts for our lips. In their pumpkin you will find Halloween Lipstick in cat plain, orange, and purple (upper left), open mouth in purple and red (upper right), panda (lower left) and panda white, and spider in plain, silver (lower right) and white. These are so adorable, even the spider ones are so well crafted that I didn't have a spider spaz reaction ;)
This photo makes me smile, as I have a sweet new friend along with a gorgeous hair accessory and a spooky new choker. The precious pup is from {le fil casse} and is called dirty puppy SHADOW, with a built in hold pose. I immediately fell in love! The necklace is from Moon Elixir and is called Raven Skull Choker, very realistic on a nice braid. I must say, their 'box' is delightful, it's a potion bottle filled with purple liquid and a glowing crescent moon that you hold and drink while the unpacker script does its thing. My floral headpiece is our gift from Astralia, and it is an exclusive for this event.
More new friends with a great sense of humor, we have a Ghosty Plushy TFC edition in my arms from Plastik and the hold pose is built in, and the tail wiggles happily. My other friend floating behind me is our gift from Cubic Cherry Kre-ations, simply called Bat Companion and a delicious pun. If I seem to have something on my face, well it's called Nerd's Revenge and is our trick from Ama. It includes the pencil, system tattoo layer, and appliers for CATWA and Omega (labeled experimental) for the skin damage.
One last look encompasses a trick from *Figment*, their bouncing eyeball, bouncing atop my head and therefore my new hair, which is a true treat from ~*Damselfly*~. Their gift is this terrific hair with Mixed HUD of several colors, both solids and fades. Even my necklace is a reward for trick or treating, courtesy of Cae. Their Bleed necklace comes with a HUD for 3 metal colors and 6 blood colors, including of course a bright red.
Nail note of the night: there is a nail gift you will find while trick-or-treating here, from Garbaggio and called Spooky Slink Nails Applier. 8 designs, 4 on bare nails and 4 black backgrounds so they work with just about any outfit. You may be wondering about my outfit, well as there were no clothing gifts at this event I decided to visit the marketplace to see what I could find there. Bart Simpson caught my attention as soon as I spotted this freebie from Kapone, a little mischief maker with an innocent grin here.

Hiya everyone! I finally visited The Seasons Story for their 2nd anniversary round, and what a treat it turned out to be! Most of the participating designers have out free gifts for everyone, along with the usual wonderful sales items and gachas. The landing area has a ring of vendors to explore, then you'll want to follow the path down to the much bigger ring down the hill where the majority of displays can be found. Two observations about the gifts: 1) there was no clothing for me to show off, and 2) there were lots of hair gifts which is unusual but delightful. So I am focusing on showing you hair tonight, along with a couple of new friends I made there ;)
First we have the Juniper hair from Mithral Apothecary, which comes in the version shown plus a 'busty' version if you need it. I love the soft fading from ginger to creamy blonde, such a pretty and flattering look.
Another gift of long locks can be found at Damselfly's display, their Anjelica with a Mixed HUD so you can switch to a variety of colors/fades, two of which are shown above.
Blues is offering two gifts with reversed names but similar styles and ideas...on the left we have Anna Lee in Rainbow: brown, and on the right is Lee Anne in Rainbow: blonde. In addition to the color, you'll notice that one has a center part and the other a side part.
If you are looking for something a bit shorter, maybe this beauty called Karin which is our gift from [DUE], complete with a HUD called Vitamin which has 10 pretty shades to choose from. All my wandering made me glad for the gift from C'est la Vie, the Autumn Mug which comes with the attachment called Beard Cream, most likely a mistranslation of mustache and utterly adorable. With no cinnamon or nutmeg as a clue, I have decided that mine is a nice Chai latte for variety's sake...what flavor would you like yours to be? The hold pose is built in by the way.
Last but certainly not least, I did mention I made some new friends while visiting The Seasons Story, and both of the ones I'm showing you here are free gifts! On the left we have our precious Elephant Doll from Gorodee, and on the right we have Schadenfreude's anniversary present for all of us, named voobou: milaya. From her gorgeous violet eyes to her pop of bright pink hair and outfit to match, she is a real charmer!
Instead of a nail note of the night, I have a dress note of the night...with no clothing gifts to share, I went to a reliable and fun place to find goodies, the Marketplace. This Lina Dress from ~@HYA@~ really caught my eye, and it comes in standard mesh sizes in two versions, a grey belted and a white belted variety. I figured it would make a lovely backdrop for all the hairstyles I was showing, while being neutral enough not to distract from them.

Hiya everyone! I finally lagged my way into the Hair Fair, hehe, and since it is their 10th anniversary celebration, every vendor has a free gift set out for us to enjoy. So it was well worth the crowd and the lag! You have until the 26th to get there, so things may settle down a tiny bit eventually. I want to go back and make a donation at one of the kiosks, as this wonderful charity event raises money for Wigs For Kids each year as you can see on the Hair Fair website. Since the fair covers 4 sims, I am focusing on one at a time, so tonight you will be seeing gifts from the Blonde Sim.
One terrific thing is that the designers aren't limited to the gifts being specifically hair, so the dress you see here is the gift from Decoy called Cosima Dress- Pink Lemonade. My hair is an adorable style from Cheveux and has a built in resize script. I chose a side view pose so you could see the cute ponytail wrapped in a braid, and that pretty color.
This awesome hair is a very generous gift from Analog Dog, in a bevy of colors and HUDs for each with fades and solid colors. There are 3 different styles of bangs, or you can wear without for a fourth look. The colors included are: blacks, dark blondes, dark browns, dark reds, light blondes, light browns, light reds (one shown), and splash.
The previous style put me in mind of Ariana Grande's hair, this one reminds me of Lorde, so apparently I have pop music on my mind which is odd since I'm more of a classic rock girl ;) This sexy tumble of curls is the gift from Damselfly and is called Livley, with a Mixed HUD for 25 color choices including some fun fades like the one shown. Fantastic!
I changed dresses to show you the gift from ISON, which based on the name seems to be just for the hair fair so if you like it, be sure to get it there :) There is a HUD with 3 texture choices, which you will see in the next photos as well. I am enjoying one of the many colors of the Murray hair gift, Catherine in the complete pack, so that includes 5 shades each of black, dark blonde, dark brown, light blonde, light brown, platinum, and red. The red 03 is shown, and the style is as striking as the color. The sunglasses are yet another gift from the Hair Fair, they are from Lelutka and are named Glare Sunglasses. I thought they looked very elegant with this hair style.
Little Bones has a wonderful gift out for us to enjoy, this is called Pogo and comes with the Duo Tone color HUD so you can pick from 10 choices of color combos including the two shown. Some have roots like on the left, while others are completely split in color from root to tip like on the right. Either way they are stunning! This comes in sizes L, L+, S, and S+, so one of those sizes will hopefully suit you just right.
Here you get to see a third HUD choice from my dress, and three randomly chosen hairstyles from the really fun gift from Curious Kitties! They packed in about a dozen hairstyles and several HUDs so you can play around and see what does what. I am showing from left to right: Lemoria V3, Cherry Bob V3, and Cyaolick V3. That last one, when I first tried it on all I could think was, "WHOA, I'm Rainbow Dash!!!" :)
Nail note of the night is simple, as I elected to stick with the newest group gift from Hello Dave that I blogged yesterday. Same skin as yesterday too, easy peasy. The lag at the Hair Fair really did a number on my somewhat moody computer, hehe, so I focused on the gifts and am hoping to let them shine.
What a day, there was a local classic & antique car show that my family was interested in, so I got to visit a farmer's market and see some amazing vehicles from at least 6 different decades, really remarkable the dedication that goes into keeping those beauties running! It was at a very popular park for dog walking, so I got to see so many precious pooches roaming around enjoying the sunny day, that made it well worth the time out in the heat.
