Hiya everyone! Tonight we are continuing our exploration of the Wash Cart Sale and its Crisp N Clean round, which is open until November 22nd. There are dozens of carts with offers for $10L - $25L, with an optional special selection for $50L which I have noticed is often a fatpack. Some kind designers are even offering a free or $1L gift for all visitors :) I also have a few more treats from Hocus Pocus to share, and will refer you to their website for a full list of prizes and LMs. Basically you visit the store, find a ghost, say "hocus pocus" in general chat, and see if he is in the mood to share his prize. If not, try again every 24 hours until the event ends on the 9th, or you can choose to buy the prize for $50L.
Our first stop is the Artic Storm cart at The Wash, conveniently located near their mainstore. On the left I am enjoying their *AS* Clara Set Deconstruct Teal, one of a few versions you will find for $25L each. The top, pants, and belt are each provided in Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique sizes. On the right is their *AS* Marnie Top and Jeans in Pretty in Pink. It includes the top in sizes for Altamura, eBody, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, and Legacy, along with the jeans in flat and high (shoe height for length) each in Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique sizing. I'm sure you noticed the fantastic body art I am sporting, well that and many other selections can be found at the InnerJoy Love Tattoos cart. Their mainstore is also located on the Wash sim, and this tattoo is their *IJL* Han Tattoo. The intricate ink starts below the elbow on each forearm and continues down to all fingers and thumbs, reminding me of henna or mehndi. It is included in a system layer plus appliers for Maitreya and Omega.
Next we visit the Vicarious Youth cart, where you can find clothing for kids and teens in addition to adults. I am enjoying their {-V-} Sophia - Teal/Black Velvet above, a beautifully textured sweater and skirt set with just a hint of sparkle in the top. For just $25L at the cart sale, you can pick this up in fitmesh standard sizes plus Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique versions. The kids' outfits available coordinate very nicely with this, particularly the color scheme. Are you ready to try your luck at Hocus Pocus? This sexy gift should convince you if you haven't started already :) It is from M.NA and called Dana, a sleeveless mini that is far from a basic black dress. It comes in Freya, Isis, Maitreya, and Legacy sizes, all of which are quite popular among mesh body fans.
Faida has a fun dress for us to try to talk the ghost into giving us, their Boo strapless mini with frilled hem. It has a pretty satin texture and a ghost with kitty ears saying "You're My Boo" on the front, which made me giggle. It comes in Maitreya and Legacy sizing, but it is possible that one of these might fit other bodies depending on your shape. For free, I would certainly give it a try, and if something isn't free I would try a demo first.
My final look of the evening is the Hocus Pocus gift from Hello Dave, their nail appliers called Hocus Pocus Pentacles. The applier HUD is compatible with Slink, Omega, and Maitreya (the image of bottles on the right of the HUD applies to Maitreya) and has all 5 designs shown above. The black and vivid green are fantastic contrasts for each other, and just because Halloween has passed does not mean that all of the spooky things in our wardrobes need to be packed away.
All I can really say about my day is that I could sure use a neck massage. Hiya everyone! Tonight I couldn't resist sharing a few more of the nail palettes I found from the Hello Dave Halloween Hunt, since there are 18 total to find (of which I found 13, with Xan's assistance) and many colors and varieties that are worth seeing. Each applier is compatible with Maitreya, Slink, and Omega, with a special Maitreya button on the right that has 3 polish bottles in it. I am wearing my Maitreya hands today so I used those buttons for all of these looks, it was easy and very convenient :) I have been a fan of Hello Dave for such a long time now, and really enjoy the chance to find free palettes.
First we see the Hello Dave - Nail Appliers - Carved & Lit palette, a set of 5 designs with different carved jack o'lantern faces. They really do appear to have a glow to them, so the lit part of the name is as fitting as the carved.
You might recognize these funny faces from one of yesterday's looks, but appearing in a different color background. That was Jack O'Zombie, while this pink one is called Candy Zombie. They have similar stitched mouths and bloodshot eyes, not to mention the splashes of red that make it seem like they are having a rough day. You sure won't have a rough time applying these though, or enjoying them.
Another color variation can be admired today and compared to yesterday's Dark Fables - Hallowed. This palette with the ghostly white background is called Dark Fables - Sanctify, and has a spooky yet elegant vibe.
I was intrigued by the color combination in the Witching Deadly manicure seen here, as well as by the etched runes in the center of each design. If the style rings a bell from yesterday, that is because The Witching Banished was featured in hues of green.
My final look of the night is another Dark Fables palette, this one being called October. It is an attractive shade of green as its background, and should be easy to match to plenty of seasonal outfits. There is a preview of all the palettes available at the mainstore in the folder with the map and notecards and such, just click the hunt sign.
It was a beautiful day out, and I was grateful to be out and about to enjoy it. Hiya everyone! Tonight is a nail extravaganza, because I have several nail palettes to show you from Hello Dave from their Halloween hunt tradition. The mainstore is high in the air (3000+ m) above a magnificently decorated sim, Moochie, that you will be visiting after picking up your hunt kit from the mainstore. There are notecards and a map to guide you around the sim, and tell you what items you are looking for. Please note, I had Xan's help with this hunt (he is awesome at them!) and we both found it to be extremely difficult, in fact there are a few items out of the 18 that we never located yet. We have visited several times, spending multiple hours there, but I must admit it is beautiful enough that I do not mind being there ;) There are no hints, which adds to its challenging nature, so please be prepared for an intense search. I am a fan of teamwork as you can tell, and we are always in voice chat so we are not disrupting anyone else on the sim. Well, let's see a sampling of these hard-earned treats!
All of tonight's nail designs are shown on my Slink hands and the medium length of their standard shape. I mention that because tomorrow I will be showing more, but on Maitreya hands so you can see how well they work on those too :) These are the Hello Dave - Nail Appliers - Dark Fables - Hallowed, 5 designs on a HUD that works with Maitreya, Omega, and Slink. This one is a bit special since there is writing, there is a split palette with a left and right side of each button to get the lettering mirrored correctly (notecard included to explain). There are other varieties of the Dark Fables styling among our prizes too, which is worth noting.
These made me chuckle, as you can see our talented designer had considerable fun with the Jack O'Zombie nail appliers :) As with all of tonight's, the HUD is compatible with Slink, Maitreya, and Omega enabled nails/hands, and this set has a vivid yellow background for the zombie faces.
I love the colors of this palette, which is a prize called Halloween Sorcery Sky nail appliers. 5 slightly different designs to mix or match, with a crescent moon on one of them (see my middle fingers) and plenty of stars and other symbols.
Another fantastic hunt prize is the Hello Dave - Nail Appliers - The Witching Banished, in a radioactive looking shade of green with darkened edges and a line of letters down the center of each of the 5 designs. There are other background colors among the hunt prizes for this style as well.
My final look of the evening is the Haunted Pentacles nail appliers, 5 designs as with all of tonight's appliers. The stark colors are ideal for the sketched pentacles on three of the designs, and the other designs are solid colors that work well if you want to mix and match with accent nails.
Quick side note: sharp eyed readers may notice that you can almost see my shirt in the photos, so it is worth mentioning that I am still wearing the Trick or Treat Lane gift from Pink Cream Pie that I blogged yesterday. It is certainly appropriate with the seasonal nails, so I was happy to leave it on.
The weekend is here, and I am ready for a busy Saturday :) I am battling a headache right now, but with a little luck it will clear up before I have to go out in the morning. It's moving around, started in the front behind my eyes and worked its way back to my upper neck almost, while still clinging to the temples. I will be glad to kiss it goodbye. All of the hunt HUDs are compatible with Slink, Omega, and Maitreya, just be sure to read the notecards for guidance. For example, there is a special Maitreya button on the far right of each HUD, it is labeled so it should be easy to remember.
Perhaps you'd like to let your fingers do the talking, well this prize called Wicked Words - Fright will surely do the trick. There are 5 different styles to mix and match on your nails, and the appliers' circles are divided left and right so you can apply the correct mirrored version onto each hand (see notecard inside for details). There are words like blood, haunted, and scream on there so they are definitely spooky, while the black background and white text reminds me of a chalkboard. Maybe Peeves the poltergeist got a hold of it!
These shadowy manicures are called Witchcraft Elixir, and that plum color dancing across all 5 designs does look like an interesting magical concoction, with who knows what eerie ingredient providing the alluring glow.
My final look of the night is another Wicked Words palette, this time Pastel Goth, and it has similar words like voodoo and cackle etched on each of 5 designs. From a distance the words look more like an abstract design, intriguing in its own right, and then close up (scratching distance?) they reveal their text.

Hiya everyone! Tonight we have more birthday gifts to open for Second Life's 15th birthday celebration, four full sims of discounts but tonight's are all from the Golden sim. Just enjoy, explore, and while you shop you will see the free gifts at nearly every display. But before we dive into our pile of presents, I have a group gift that I am so excited to share, from Entice whose info group is free to join. They have a terrific dress fatpack as their latest gift for all their members, and are always generous with group gifts plus midnight manias and lucky boards.
This lovely look is the Entice - The Tide is High Dress Fatpack, a polka dotted frock with bold double belting in sizes for Freya, Isis, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and a standard fitted version. There is also a HUD that lets you choose from 10 colors, two of which I randomly chose for above, all of which really pop against the black and white.
Over to the SL15B shopping event, you can find this flirty dress from ISON called Michelle dress as their present for all visitors. The dress comes in sizes for Freya, Isis, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique, and includes a HUD with 3 texture choices. Two are shown above, and the other is a solid red hue. I love how the straps cross in the back and then lace things together, and that floral pattern has a tropical feel that really appeals to me.
There are so many options for your summer wardrobe at SL15B, and our gift from PinkRayne named Peony is a perfect example. It includes sizes for Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique, with a HUD that lets you choose from 5 colors for the feminine floral texture. I am always drawn to shades of purple, but I definitely appreciate all the selections for this present.
Sometimes we just need something sweet and snuggly to hold, so I was delighted when I unpacked the Jinx goodies and found 5 treats inside, including Unipig Arm Pet - Pastel Pink. It has a hold pose built in, and I admit my first thought was a unicorn pig hybrid like Miss Piggy, so I was surprised to see that it is instead a precious guinea pig! *Squee* I used to spend a lot of time with my friend's guinea pigs and have always thought they were adorable, but none of hers had a unicorn horn or these shades of pink ;) As for the other 4 gifts, I will leave them as a surprise but I will say there is another type of horns involved in one, and at least one other companion.
Perhaps you noticed that my nails had some extra bursts of color tonight, well that would be courtesy of the gift from Hello Dave at the SL15B event. There are 35 colors to choose from, ranging from pastels to brights, each with that dramatic tip of inky black. So much versatility, and I am a longtime fan of theirs so I was glad to be able to pick this up and share with all of you.
I am having one of those days where things feel very mixed up, since I didn't get much more than a quick nap before going out this morning/afternoon, then came home and napped (which was more like my real sleep) for several hours. Now it feels like everything I did in the morning was actually yesterday, so I've been feeling all evening like it was already Sunday. At least I don't have any plans for Sunday that involve leaving the house or being somewhere at a certain time, so I can try to relax and refocus. One of the vendors at the market I go to each Saturday is from Guadalajara Mexico, and was cooking amazing Mexican street food today and it smelled heavenly! Tacos, taquitos, corn on the cob (elotes), hibiscus water, rice, refried beans...I did taste several of those and wow are they tasty :) My fridge is filled with a few days' worth of yummy meals and desserts, and I am happy not to have to cook in this heat. Hiya everyone! Tonight I decided to explore the current group gifts for the FabFree group, short for Fabulously Free in SL. They are the free to join inworld group for a wonderful blog that has been helping residents to find freebies and bargains for over a decade. One of the benefits of group membership is access to an impressive number of gifts from designers all across the grid. All you need is your group tag active to claim these generous presents, and a few of the designers have vendors that will require you to pay $1L but you will be reimbursed immediately. The FabFree gifts are usually near the store's own group gifts, so not too tricky to locate. Are you ready to see the treats I have to share tonight?
My first stop was Ecce Bellus, where there are actually two gifts in one waiting for us. On the left is the Addison Love Letter RED Top dress, while on the right you can see the same in WHITE top. They are each provided in a wide array of mesh sizes: standard, eBody, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Ocacin, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine. I suspect this gift was set out for Valentine's Day, so I wouldn't wait too long to pick it up if you are interested because it could be changed at any time :)

The gift from Tiar is intriguing because it looks warm and cozy from the front, yet really playful from behind. It is called Sexysummer Sweater and it sure does live up to that name, in sizes for Belleza Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and TMP. There is also a HUD included that lets you choose from 6 textures, all of which are solid colors except the one I'm showing on the left above. The back has pretty ties that flutter down into the deep opening, a really fun touch.

Hiya everyone! Tonight I am having fun showing off some gifts for the FabFree group, which is short for Fabulously Free in SL. The group is the inworld representation of their amazing blog which I have been following for as long as I can recall, a terrific resource for new and more seasoned residents alike to find gifts, sales, new stores, events, and more. With your group tag (free to join, of course) you can visit many designers to pick up special group gifts such as the ones I am sharing tonight. You can probably tell that it makes me happy to endorse the blog that helped inspire me to start Midnight Magpie, as they were the first that I read on a regular basis. Each store featured tonight has a sign that you can click and then join the group from local chat, just look for the vivid rainbow stripes :) Then when you find the sign, the gift is usually very close if not actually touching the group sign. Easy peasy, and these stores are delightful to visit.
This first outfit can be found at AsHmOoT and is called Large Sweater + Skirt Au.v. which is probably short for autumn version, guessing based on the leaves of the skirt. There is an extra layer to the sweater that is sheer, giving it a slightly fuzzy appearance, so my image may look slightly blurry because of that but it gives a cozy look in person :) The gift includes sizes for Belleza Freya, Isis, Venus, eBody, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and Classic bodies. Random thought, this would look great with the gold/chocolate diamond jewelry I blogged yesterday from the marketplace.
Glitter has their lovely Claire Dress as a FabFree gift for us, in system layers as well as appliers for Maitreya, Belleza, Slink, Omega, and eBody. The skirt panels are provided in standard mesh sizes, so much better than the old prim style that couldn't move when we do. I love the hints of purple trim on the bodice, a fun contrast to the bright red.
On the left above, I am wearing our gift from Ecce Bellus which is called Meow Knit Top and comes in standard mesh sizes plus Belleza Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, eBody, Slink Hourglass, and Slink Physique. I was drawn to its elegance, sometimes animal faces etched onto a shirt will look more cartoonish (which is great too!) but this one has a different feel. Another wonderful gift on the right, this time from Eclectic Stars, which is called Sweetie - I Rebel and includes standard fitmesh sizes along with Belleza Freya, Isis, Venus, eBody, Maitreya, Slink Hourglass, Slink Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine. The vintage look captures the nostalgia associated with the original Star Wars movies, yet is timely with the newest installment due in about 2 weeks. Go ahead and geek out, I sure did!!
I am feeling pretty in purple with our FabFree gift from Virtue, called Melody Top {Pink Dots}. This store focuses on modest styles, which can be hard to find in SL, and this high necked top comes in sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh bodies. That belt and sweet bow caught my eye, and the color looks like a rich plum to me. You can pair this with your favorite pants, skirt, or leggings, while I am wearing it here with a gift from the marketplace that I turn to quite often while blogging. They are the gift from Delizio, jeans in several colors for system, Omega, and Maitreya, and I am wearing the black color here and in the prior photo.

I had a much needed acupuncture session earlier, and now am awaiting my houseguest to arrive any minute for a long weekend of fun and tasty food. Then Saturday morning I have an additional visitor for the day, suddenly I feel like a social butterfly :) I am still not sure what my blog schedule will be like this weekend, but I will be switching to morning blog posts for much of December to be able to show you Advent calendar items with enough time for you to go claim them.
