Valentine Shop & Hop

 Hiya everyone! Tonight it's time to start exploring the Valentine Shop & Hop 2026, which I've been eagerly anticipating since the holiday one wrapped up. These amazing events are organized by the Lindens so you know these are top notch designers, all sorts of offerings like fashion, accessories, home decor, and more. There are 14 regions this round with 20 brands apiece, so that makes 280 stores with discounted offers and a free gift each :) You can start in any of the regions and walk your way through a continuous loop (okay, rectangle) so get those hiking boots ready! As they've been doing for several rounds now, the FabFree crew has assembled a very handy spreadsheet of gifts that you can sort by the tabs on the bottom left to view by store name, region, type, or even pictures. I'm so grateful for their hard work and persistence in keeping it updated and accurate. I always share these by region (it keeps me organized and lets me give you one main landmark to check out all 20 stores) so these are from the Chickory region.

My first look combines two gifts, the first of which made me curious and then amused. The *kata0nik* Valentine Halter includes the pink-red and black-red versions each in Legacy and Reborn sizes, and the heart on each contains some Japanese text. I don't speak or read Japanese so I let google translate it, said "kata to niku" which means shoulder to meat. Now that could be an expression or slang, but it was not what I was expecting ;) I used my camera to translate and the center character is a bit lost in my cleavage, so it just said "shoulder meat". I also really like these new pants, which are our gift Stories&Co. called Signature Waist Leggings - Azure. They are very flattering with that high waistband and slim fit, in sizing for Lara X, Petite X, Legacy, and Reborn mesh bodies.

This flirty gift is our Adore Amore - Gionna Dress Red Sequins. Isn't it a beauty? The sequined texture alone would be enough to make me happy, but then we add the style with spaghetti straps, slit skirt, and diagonal belt with large hoop closure, and it becomes an instant favorite. There are sizes for Erika, Gen X Classic, Gen X Curvy, Kupra, Legacy, Bombshell, Perky, Maitreya, Petite, Lara X, Petite X, Reborn, and Waifu  mesh bodies included.

Next I changed into the stunning neve gift - leeanne Valentines'26. The neckline frames our cleavage beautifully with soft ruffles, and the skirt is notched on the right thigh for an extra peek of skin. We receive Lara X, Petite X, Legacy, Perky, and Reborn mesh body sizes, as well as a HUD with 4 colors to choose from. The ones not shown are red and black, so very Valentine compatible without being in your face about it. I know not everyone is a fan of the holiday, but these colors are so classic that I'm sure you will enjoy regardless :)

SUGAR N' SPICE has a special treat for us too, their SNS CALIOPE JUMPER. This flirty outfit will fit Lara X, Legacy, Reborn, Squish, and Waifu mesh bodies, and includes a HUD with 8 colors each for the main jumper, trim, lace, side bows, corner bows, and jumper bows, and the ability to adjust the opacity (4 levels) and turn materials on or off. I feel like this will particularly appeal to fans of details like bows, as I am, and it really looks like it could easily be worn as lingerie.

My final look of the evening is our Blackstone - Roxane Leather Set - Hot Pink gift, and it simply sizzling! The corset top and low cut shorts are each provided in sizing for Legacy, Maitreya, Lara X, and Reborn mesh bodies. The shorts are studded around the hem for a little golden gleam that matches the rivets of the top where it's laced up in the center. 

Wow, where did this weekend go already? I am feeling a bit chilly which isn't all that surprising when it is only 15 degrees out (F) but I will be putting the mini heater back on shortly. I tried food from a place I used to get delivery from many years ago (before delivery services) and found out the hard way that their marinara is too spicy, like at least 3 others in the area. I guess they're adding red pepper flakes or hot sauce, but I wish they'd just include a packet of the flakes/sauce for those who can handle the added zing. It's so common these days though, even in fast food, so I am struggling against popularity. I had a backup plan fortunately, so I am fine :) Somehow my family and I decided to do a cheesecake this coming weekend for my birthday dinner instead of traditional cake, which might be odd but we all love it which is all that matters. It's not like any of us are posting pics on social media, just a cozy little gathering with my nearest and dearest. Anyway that was ordered tonight, chocolate marble, from a baker we all admire, so that is something fun to look forward to. Slay Vs Sleigh Event

 Hiya everyone! Tonight we've got another fantastic event to visit, the Slay vs Sleigh from TSS (The Saturday Sale). Come get festive, fierce or both! There are seasonal discounted offers as well as year round ones, and some are Goth flavored, so there's an impressive variety for this time of year. As I'm sure you have guessed, there are also group gifts for the TSS group, in gift boxes of red, green, or black. They are the long flat type that you might use for clothing, which amused me because that is my focus here as usual :) Since many gifts are Christmas themed, I do suggest you get there quickly, although it is open until the 3rd of January.

For my first look of the evening, our [simpleCUTE] Christmas Cutie gift really caught my eye. It has the most adorable knit pattern on the skirt layer, Santa and Ho Ho Ho against a black background to really pop. The bright red short sleeved top layer is the perfect red to match Santa's hat, and these are linked together to wear all at once in sizes for Kupra, Legacy, Maitreya, and Reborn mesh bodies. I really like the way the skirt has straps that remind me of overalls but thinner, curving around the chest to help accentuate it. The skirt has fun little ties on each side too at the hem, just another charming detail :)

I just realized that I'm humming "Blue Christmas" because of the lovely [Flaneur] Evalia Dress Sky gift :) I have also spent the last few weeks listening to holiday music that has included several versions of the song of course, but the stunning color of this dress is certainly an inspiration. There are sizes for Legacy, Maitreya, and Reborn mesh bodies included. The neckline frames the cleavage and would show off your favorite necklace quite nicely, don't you think?

I really hope you're using a PBR-compatible viewer, so you can appreciate The Frostbound by Axolotl PBR "Pine" gift as I surely do. It has soft fleecy looking fur on the collar and cuffs, with abstract stitching on the shiny fabric. We receive Lara X, Legacy, Bombshell, Perky, Reborn, and Waifu sizes of the dress, with similar sizes (Lara X, Legacy, Reborn) of a C-string or crotch covering. There's also a HUD with 3 colors for the C-string, so we can change the look of it if we wish.

Next I paired two gifts for a playful combination that I am really enjoying. The top is our SNS GOTH CHRISTMAS TOP GIFT from Sugar & Spice, the ideal choice for when you want to watch Nightmare Before Christmas or just want to mix holiday spirit with something moodier. It fits Lara X, Petite X, Legacy, Perky, Reborn, and Waifu bodies, and the design has ornaments like skulls, tombstones, and red bats. As for the skirt, that would be the [FLIRT] Milana skirt-fatpack gift, a wonderful miniskirt with high waist and softly ruffled hem. We receive the skirt and panties in sizing for Cinnamon, Kupra, Legacy, Maitreya, and Reborn mesh bodies, along with a HUD that offers 10 textures for each. They are a mix of solids and prints in various hues, so we can really match this skirt with a wide range of tops any time of year.

My final look of the night is also going to be in my year-round fashion rotation because it's just so gorgeous! The Blackstone - Brielle Set PBR - Green gift is looking more of a bright teal blue in my lighting, but that is part of the fun of PBR I guess :) The halter top has a sweet bow on the back, and the knee length pencil skirt is zippered up the back with a HUD that lets us pick from 6 metals for that zipper. It was a much more peaceful day here, and I mostly caught up on sleep (it wasn't as restful sleeping at my parents' Friday night because I'm not used to hearing their grandfather clock chiming every 15 minutes, etc.) and prepared for the group therapy session tomorrow evening. I usually write down notes about my outings and stressors, which could have filled an entire sheet of paper this time. Things are okay though, and it could have been far worse so I am grateful that things worked out decently. Summer Lovin' With TSS

 Hiya everyone! Tonight I'm back with some wonderful free gifts from the delightful Summer Lovin' event from The Saturday Sale. We all know TSS for helping us save lots of lindens each weekend, and now we get to visit the Grease themed event :) Does that name make you start singing along, like it did to me? Summer lovin', had me a blast, summer lovin', happened so fast...this one does in fact wrap up fairly quickly, the 6th of July, so dance your way on over and enjoy the sales, free gifts (no group needed), and carnival rides. Yep, that's right, there are rides and props that will certainly bring you back to the rockin' 50s :) Not all the gifts are themed but some are, so it's up to you if you want your look to be modern or retro.

My first look is the gorgeous zOOm - Tamriel GIFT Dress, which is decorated with golden symbols on the front and a slender chain draped into the cleavage opening. We receive sizes for Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, Lara X, Petite X, and Reborn mesh bodies. 

This lovely gift is our RAPTURE-Dress Hana-Tangerine. The ruffles are such fun details, and the loose strands on the hem remind me of kites or jellyfish :) I think the vibrant orange hue is fantastic for summer, and the seams down the front are really flattering. I think this combines modern styling with a nostalgic pattern on the skirt, so there is a nod to the theme.

Whew, as you can guess I've had quite a week. The heat combined with the failing AC unit meant I had to head to a hotel room for a few days, where blogging was not an option on a laptop. Now the AC unit has been inspected this morning, and the verdict is that it is beyond repair :( Until it is replaced in a few weeks, I will be spending hot days at my parents' so I'm not stuck in an overheating house. I don't expect it to interfere with my blogging, which is a nice change, as I am already feeling guilty for missing a few posts. The hotel room was pleasant enough, and the free breakfast was nicer than I'd expected with a great variety of hot and cold offerings. The weather got cooler today because of rain, but we have a Saturday heat advisory again so we're all over the place here. Bad Bunny Event

 Hiya everyone! Tonight I'd like to invite you to the Bad Bunny Event, which I think of as the dark side of Easter :) Goth, spooky, alternative type styles abound here, and there are over 100 gifts available for free with no group joining required. I know some of you are reading this like OMG gimme the link already, I'm there!! My usual personal style truly varies with my moods, and lately I have been wearing pastels and springy outfits so I am relishing the change of pace. It is much harder to switch things up so drastically in RL, making it even more fun to dress my avi as a hippie one day, biker babe the next, and goth chick another day. Bad Bunny definitely brings out the part of me that craves black lipstick, dark eyeshadow, and lots of spiky things to wear.

Not talking to any guys who might be looking for more than friendship, and probably not mustering up my usual diplomacy or politeness about it. 

This sleek strapless tube dress is our PULSE- Hesperia - Dress - Fishnet Black gift. It has panels of fishnet down each side, and a fun opening in the cleavage region to bare an extra flash of skin. We receive sizing for Legacy, Maitreya, and Reborn mesh bodies, with an alpha mask HUD to turn that feature on or off. That affects the appearance of the fishnet panels, so it depends if you are trying to show tattoos through it or are wearing something over top of it since multiple transparency layers in SL don't usually work out well.

My final look of the evening is the [Ari-Pari] Dark Swirls Dress gift, a stunning sleeveless sundress style with damask prints and a wide black waistband. It fits Legacy, Maitreya, Lara X, and Reborn mesh bodies, while including a HUD that lets us pick from 7 deep mysterious colors. It makes me want to twirl around in the moonlight :) That's not even a Goth thing, that's a night owl thing from a nocturnal person who rarely goes out in the sunlight.

Sugar and Spice

 Hiya everyone! Tonight I've got some group gifts to share from Sugar N' Spice, which I have also seen stylized as Sugar & Spice but it's all the same wonderful store :) Their group is currently free to join, and there is a wall of gifts and group offers that I think will catch your eye. I would describe their style as flirty and modern, with some seasonal gifts mixed in among these generous treats. Are you ready for a few peeks?

My first look is the SNS MANDY DRESS SLB GIFT, a playful mini dress with crossed halter neck and open midriff. The skirt says "GAME OVER" with a helmet (gas mask?) beneath. At this point it feels like we'll still be ironing out last minute things in the moments before I arrive there, heh, just endless chaos. More Shop & Hop

 Hiya everyone! Tonight we're headed to the Gilded region of Halloween Shop & Hop, which is one of 20 regions packed with talented designers offering discounted sales and free gifts. As always I must share the extremely helpful FabFree spreadsheet with all the details about the gifts we can find, and I thank them for their hard work. I look forward so eagerly to each round of Shop & Hop, as the offerings are always incredible and I manage to find affordable ways to treat myself each time :) It is a mix of old familiar brands and some new-to-me (or new to the whole grid) stores that I am always happy to learn about. The fun continues into early next month, so you have a few weeks left to visit and enjoy. 

My first look of the evening is the flirty RosenRot - Selena Halloween Gift. It looks like two pieces but they are linked together and worn as one, in sizes for Belleza Classic, Belleza Curvy, Erika, Kupra, Legacy, Maitreya, Petite, and Reborn mesh bodies. the jack o' lantern face on the top is such a fun addition, and plaid looks great in black and orange :) The rear view is a bit cheeky, so you may need to add some undies to wear this to some locations.

I can never resist a gift from Kaithleen's, for example this gorgeous Amy Dress - Plum. The silky slip dress is provided in Gen X Classic, Gen X Curvy, Kupra, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, Petite, Reborn, and Juicy Boobs sizes, with a HUD that offers 20 colors each for the lining and wiring. On the right I've tinted the lining dark blue and the wiring a lighter blue, so you can tell that it's the edge vs. the straps on the top :) The opening on the left hip is particularly revealing, and with the texturing it gives the impression of flowing satin in motion.

Our gift box from Candy Kitten gives us 2 dresses and one cute snuggle buddy, all for free! Be sure to give that a click then :) I am wearing the *CK* Deep night dress HALLOWEEN on the left, with *CK* Deep night dress SKELLETON on the right. Speaking of smiles, the *CK* Here kitty kitty monster toy will probably help you bring lots of those when you add it to your outfit :) It's got a built in hold pose as seen, and is really nicely designed.

Next I changed into the SNS FRANKIE TOP S&H HALLOWEEN GIFT from SUGAR & SPICE. This fun tube top has a HUD that lets us pick from 10 textures each for bra and band portions, and we can adjust the opacity of each too. There are 4 solid colors as well as some seasonal patterns like you see above. The gift includes Erika, Gen X Classic, Gen X Curvy, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, Petite, Lara X, Petite X, Reborn, and Waifu mesh body sizes.

My final look is an intriguing gift for a few reasons. TheMuses - Embroidered Gown is provided in two colors, orange and noir, each of which are included in shape 1 and shape 2 versions along with an alpha layer that must be worn to hide most of your mesh body. This way the long sleeved, high necked, full length dress is the star of the show :) It is suitable for various roleplay (Victorian era?) and has embossing that shows up beautifully with the ambient lighting wherever you wear it. For that reason I rezzed out a small light to really bring out the materials. Isn't it stunning?

Some people lead rather quiet lives, so when they say their day was an adventure it is probably not a very good thing. It's me, I am some people, LOL. I did make it to my doctor visit, and we decided to switch medication which I agree with so that is not a bad thing. The difficulty arose when I mentioned my inability to get to the lab to get the blood drawn, and she offered to have a nurse draw it there. I was hoping for this honestly, since I was already there somehow and 'might as well'. The problem was that they don't draw blood very often so the nurses there are not as experienced, and my deep tiny veins did not want to play nicely. Two attempts, two nurses, one blown vein, but we finally got the one lousy tube of blood to do a single lab test. Sigh. My right elbow crease looks like someone jammed a plum under the skin, both color and size, so that's fun...yes I've iced it, yes it is sore, and yes, being online and using a mouse with that arm/hand is probably a bad idea. But yes, Dawn is a stubborn magpie :P  So now it's all about waiting, for the arm to heal and the meds to do their thing.  Hiya everyone! Tonight I've got some group gifts to share from SUGAR & SPICE, whose group is currently free to join. There are several gifts available right now, and I'd describe the general style as flirty and ideal for club wear. I was easily able to find treats that fit my new Legacy body, so I am wearing it again this evening beneath all of these generous gifts. I'm still subtly tweaking the shape, trying to see what this baby can do ;) I seem to be most similar to the default shape or hourglass shape that come with the body, but there are other options in there that I also tried before just adjusting my Maitreya shape some. 

My first outfit is the SNS MOLOKAI DRESS & MERCY SHOES OH WOW group gift. Its dress has sexy cutouts down both sides and slender spaghetti straps that hold things in place, fitting Erika, Kupra, Legacy, Nerido, Perky, Reborn and Juicy bodies. The matching shoes have a similar set of sizes - Erika, Kupra, Legacy, Maitreya, and Reborn, while a C-string (like a thong with no sides) is also included for Legacy, Maitreya, and Reborn bodies with a 10 color HUD. That HUD is only for the C-string, and it is handy if you want to wear it with other dresses :) The pattern says WOW but the style of the dress already would have me thinking it!

This sexy number is our SUGAR N' SPICE DESIGNS SYLVANAS DRESS GIFT. There are sizes for Legacy, Maitreya, and Reborn bodies included, all with that great shredded style that provides plenty of flashes of skin. The texture has a mixture of green and shades of grey on it, with an image in the front that looks like a dragon or snake to me. 

I have the giggles now because I just this instant realized that the pattern on our SUGAR N' SPICE DESIGNS MYRIAM DRESS GIFT is Christmas themed! The reindeer on the front popped out at me, then I saw a glass bauble type decoration on the back and a snowflake up top of the front :) So this treat will fit Freya, Hourglass, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, Petite, and Reborn bodies, any time of year you wish to wear it! The single long sleeve is a dramatic look, and the wide slit on the left thigh adds sex appeal. I have seen Christmas in July celebrations in RL lately, so maybe I'll find something in SL too.

The hot pink hue looks great contrasting against the black of the skirt, doesn't it? The rear view is a bit cheeky, so I'm thinking that C-string from the first outfit (Molokai) would come in handy here.

It has been a mixed bag of a day, with the good being the arrival of the houseguest who is a treasured friend. The bad would be that I tried to go to my parents' for dinner as I usually do, but didn't even make it out of the garage without a panic attack sending me scurrying back into the house and wanting to hide forever. So I attempted to leave the house but failed miserably, and the anxiety is lingering so I've been a shaky little magpie typing up this post tonight. I'll reread it to make sure I made any sense at all ;) The houseguest is being very kind and reassuring, and went with my housemate to dinner (my parents adore both of them) so I didn't fully ruin everyone's day I guess. Tomorrow should be peaceful, Sunday is supposed to be stormy though, so that'll be fun for the nerves....at least I'll have company while I hide from the world. Shop and Hop Treats

 Hiya everyone! Tonight's post features several gifts we can find in the Lavendar region of the SL20B Shop & Hop, just one of 20 moderate and 4 adult regions that are part of the shopping portion of the 20th birthday celebrations. Second Life deserves all the accolades for surviving and thriving after all this time, providing a virtual home for so many of us who treasure it so. We can be whoever and whatever we wish in SL, and they keep providing newer ways to customize our avatar and the world as we view it, which brings me eagerly in-world each day.

First I tried on the lovely LCD SL20B Dress Gift from Liam Carter Designs. The strapless mini dress and top that I think of as a shrug, are both included in sizes for Erika, Gen X Classic, Gen X Curvy, Kupra, Kupra Ups, Legacy, Legacy Nerido, Perky, Maitreya, Petite, Peach, and Reborn mesh bodies. There is also a wonderful HUD that offers 35 colors each for the shirt, strings, and dress, plus 6 metals and 13 textures for the dress. All that adds up to a bounty of variety, pretty much any combination you desire can be yours with a few clicks :) 

I couldn't help but notice some similarities with the next gift, BCD Harper SL20B Outfit Gift from Brooke Carter Designs, so I checked the designers' profiles and yes they are partners :) The top and skirt come in the same sizes as the previous dress/top, and the HUD is very similar...35 colors each for the top, waist, belt, and skirt, with 6 metals and 8 skirt textures for when you want something other than a solid hue. I am delighted with both gifts, and impressed that this couple gets to enjoy SL together and operate two fashion stores as business partners all at the same time. 

This striking dress is our treat from SUGAR N SPICE called SNS MANDY DRESS SLB GIFT. It is crafted as a halter bra and mini skirt tied together and trimmed in black, with GAME OVER on the left above a gas mask. There are sizes for Kalhene, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, and Reborn mesh bodies, and a HUD with 5 color options for the background. The yellow and bright green made me think radioactive for the mask, so they seemed like the right choices to share.

I've got 2 terrific ways to celebrate summer combined into one look here :) The bodysuit (which I would 100% wear as a swimsuit too) is the DONNA Bodysuit from RosenRot, an intricately designed halter style with bold cutouts. That floral pattern is certainly eye-catching, and the pink colors go nicely with the :::ChicChica::: Rose sorbet I am holding. I could really go for some sorbet right now in RL...soothing and sweet but not overly heavy. 

My final look of the evening brings formal vibes in an elegant shade of purple. The .:{CW}:. It was a dark and stormy night...*chuckle* okay really though, it is a very stormy evening here in Magpie-land, and I am not particularly a fan of all the loud wind and thunder. One lightning/thunder zap a few minutes ago had that electric sizzle to it, maaaan I hate that! My main concern is the possibility of losing power and internet, but I have a fear of property damage from the high winds too. There was a news report tonight from my hometown (where I grew up, not where I am now) that a few trees on one street fell and totaled cars, but at least nobody was injured. I grew up with a couple people who lived on that street, and my ex lived on the next street over, so it was weird seeing it on the news but with all new people living there. As for the blog, I will be changing things up tomorrow so as not to just keep doing a ton of shop & hop posts in a row, but I assure you there are many more gifts for us to enjoy.
