I Love Shop and Hop

 Hiya everyone! Tonight we are diving into the gifts from the Hollyhock region of SL23B Shop & Hop. As you probably know by now, this is a celebration of Second Life's 23rd birthday which features a round of Shop & Hop among many events and things to do :) We have a total of 480 stores on 24 regions (18 mature, 6 adult) where we can find discounted offers as well as generous gifts. I love these opportunities to become familiar with new designers, see what's happening with ones I already know, and of course find some amazing bargains! Xan and I are also peeking at the exhibitor regions and are endlessly impressed by the passion and creativity that goes into those. We have about a week and half left to enjoy, so don't dawdle :) Oh and remember to use the FabFree spreadsheet to make sure you aren't missing any of these thoughtful gifts, as their team has worked hard to organize that info and keep it updated for everyone. 

Life is better on the beach, at least that's the message you will see on our Chakra - Life at Beach - Female - Blue gift :) This brightly colored tee comes in Lara X, Legacy, and Reborn mesh body sizes, and includes an alpha layer that I did find helpful for my Legacy body here. The waist is nipped in slightly beneath those gently baggy sleeves, while the lower hem is flared out to accommodate lots of types of pants and skirts. I'm wearing the white Delizio jeans from their marketplace fatpack freebie, as my instinct is usually to try BOM pants for ease of layering.

This beauty is our ANNA - Bella Mini Dress-Lace Blue gift, which is one of two you'll find in this store's display. The style makes me think ballerina, with that full lacy skirt and formfitting bodice, and the color is like a clear sky. There are Lara X, Legacy, and Reborn sizes included in this gift.

Their other gift for us is the lovely ANNA-Vanessa Dress Fatpack 1. It consists of the dress and pants (panties) each in Gen X, Legacy, Maitreya, and Reborn mesh body sizes, and HUDs for each. The dress HUD offers 17 choices, a mix of solids and patterns, while the pants HUD has 8 colors to choose from. The bust has sheer lace trim that does show some nippleage, so that is why I chose a pose with the arms up to block that from view ;) Actually I've just remembered a bit too late that I have pasties that came with my skin and would cover that up, but it was still worth mentioning. 

Clearly I need more excuses to get formally dressed up in SL, because our UNA. Rita slb Gift deserves to be shown off! There is something so stunning about this strapless gown with wrapped sash around the hips, bustled on the left side and slightly reflective in my ambient lighting. It fits Lara X, Legacy, Perky, and Reborn mesh bodies. I'm undecided on what type of jewelry would suit it best, as I can envision something simple or a more bold necklace and earrings for example.

I feel like my final look of the evening is a nod to the Golden Age of Hollywood theme of SL23B. :ALTER: Tokio Mini Dress @Gold is a beautiful single shouldered minidress, shimmering in satin to make the golden color even more of a shiny metallic treat. The gift includes sizing for Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, Lara X, Reborn, and Waifu mesh bodies. 

I'm losing track of time, the day of the week, LOL, all of it is just blending together right now ;) At least I had a good time gaming with friends earlier, although my friend's husband had emergency dental work (2 teeth pulled, ouch) so he was understandably on the quiet side. I felt so bad for him, and was glad to hear him sounding fairly cheerful. The weather is clearing up from a rain standpoint here, but the temps are staying high and steamy so I am grateful for AC and fans when I'm able to stay indoors. Still Scooping and Scoring

 Hiya everyone! Tonight I'm diving back into the sewers of the SLS Scoop N Score hunt, at least back into my folder of over 200 goodies I found there :) The hunt is free but challenging, as it involves a wild maze of sewers in which you will find free poops. No matter how often I say that on here, it never gets old and never quite sounds right ;) When it comes to bodily functions I apparently still have the sense of humor of a preteen, so the names they come up with for the hunt objects also tickle my funny bone quite a bit. We do have until the end of the month to complete our searching, and the list of participating stores can be found on the hunt's website.

Our first look is a pairing of two lengths of the same lovely dress, UNA. Felicidad Dress Pink. Find this prize and you'll receive the long and short versions each in sizes for Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, Petite, Lara X, Petite X, Reborn, and Juicy mesh bodies. Both have that gorgeous dark waist that brings out the crimson flower sitting atop the bodice with a lighter pink rose and a spray of baby's breath in pearls. 

Next I've got another Web Dew prize to share (please see previous posts if you're curious) which is called :::WD::: Set Frida PBR - Watermelon. It's a flirty bikini with accessories galore, as the bra, panties, arm straps, and garter are all separates in Erika, Kupra, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, Petite, and Reborn sizes. The collar has a resize script on touch, so that should fit any body with a little tweaking :) Then there is a HUD of course, with 4 colors apiece for 8 different sections of the outfit. You can click "all" or choose a button with the image of the area you wish to color, then pick your hue. The red and green brings watermelon to mind at this time of year but perhaps Christmas in several months? 

The Blue Blood - Aynara Dress Poopie Brown prize has a name that might raise eyebrows, but a style that is meant to turn heads :) Its touches of green and gray have me thinking earth tones like a dryad or nature fairy, and the sweetheart neckline will look great with necklaces or chokers. There are sizes for Legacy, Legacy Perky, Legacy Petite, and Reborn mesh bodies, along with an alpha layer to hide the nipples and waist. You may not need it, but it's an easy solution if you do :) 

I was a bit surprised that more of the prizes weren't brown in color, but I did find this clever TRASH. Drycell Turtleneck (Femm) - v9 prize. It comes in Legacy, Reborn, and Waifu mesh body sizes, with a HUD that lets you select from 3 states. The first state on the left is the least distressed and the longest, with each becoming progressively more ripped and revealing. The brand name appears across the front, and they do have plenty of prizes in the sewers for men and women.

My final look this evening is a playful treat from Dragon Magick Wares called Psycho Flower Tee. The image on the front is animated so the bright colors in the image change to give us a psychedelic effect that I simply couldn't resist :) This prize contains sizing for Legacy, Maitreya, Lara X, and Reborn mesh bodies. I'm wearing it *and the previous prize) with the Delizio jeans in blue, which is one of several shades in the fatpack we can find for free on the marketplace. 

Whew, it was a hot one today! It is going to be in the 90s for a couple more days, so I went out briefly this evening to Dollar Tree (waiting till it was slightly cooler) and found a few things that I needed. I am probably not leaving the house again until Friday, but I am okay with that as long as the fans and air conditioner are working :) I feel a little forgetful, but that isn't very unusual for me. She Scoops, She Scores!

 Hiya everyone! Tonight I've got more free prizes to share from the SLS Scoop N Score hunt, which we find by locating hidden poops in the complex sewer maze that SL Syndicate has crafted for us. There are over 200 prizes down there, so it is well worth the effort :) It is their 8th annual hunt and shopping event, so you may already be familiar with the impressive work that goes into this each year. I'm grateful for Xan's help in navigating the sewers, and for all of the generosity of these designers! The hunt website has a list of the brands with the number of poops you can find from each, and if they are participating in the shopping event or not. You'll want to set aside plenty of time, and I do suggest teamwork with friends and possibly taking notes to keep track of which paths you've taken. 

I'm starting the evening with the lovely ::WD:: Set Penelope - Sky prize from Web Dew. The top and shorts blend together beautifully, each in sizes for Lara X, Petite X, Legacy, Perky, Reborn, Juicy Boobs, and Waifu mesh bodies. There's a HUD in there too, with 9 colors each for the center panel and the trim, and a roughness slider so we can adjust that if we wish. I feel like a princess in this, like it genuinely gives me a royal vibe with a touch of fairytale fun :)

Next I slipped into the Blue Blood - Victory Dress Poopie Brown prize. The name made me giggle, but honestly the shade of brown reminds me more of slightly lightened coffee or a deep caramel. This pretty dress fits Legacy, Perky, Petite, and Reborn mesh bodies, all with that great belt and slender spaghetti straps.

Among the many goodies we can find in the sewers, apparently sexy lingerie is one of them ;) This is our Sweet Kajira prize called * SK * ALINA RED, in a deep hue that will absolutely turn heads. We receive the top, panties, and belt, all in sizing for Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, and Petite mesh bodies. The top and panties have playful sheer ruffles, and look great with or without the belt that reminds me of a mini corset.

You can put some extra sparkle in your day if you find the SOLIAC - Dress Ashe - Golden prize. They've got an amazing 19 treats to find, so you can expect to see that name quite a bit :) This flirty dress has a low V neck both front and back, and the skirt has a slightly diagonal hemline with a slit on the right hip. I adore the sequined texture, and it just begs to be worn out dancing or on a spicy date. There are Legacy, Perky, Reborn, and Waifu mesh body sizes provided.

My final look this evening is the UNA. Yanni Valentines prize, and it is fully loaded! Our bodysuit comes in 3 versions - A (no ruffles), B, and B transparent (referring to the ruffles), each in Lara X, Petite X, Legacy, Perky, and Reborn sizes. The gold roses for top and bottom fit the same bodies, and the skirt in those same sizes has solid and transparent versions. As a sampling I am wearing bodysuit A, the top roses, and the transparent skirt on the left, while the look to the right is bodysuit B and both top and bottom roses. How do you plan on enjoying it?

Monday, Monday...that song just popped into my head, and I forget most of the words so it's just the old tune spiraling through my brain ;) It wasn't a bad day, just busy, and the support group session this evening went well. The next one is on Memorial day, so it might be a lighter crowd but we are going to try anyway. We don't do anything for that particular holiday, like we'll probably do our barbecue on the Friday before it since that's my usual "dinner with parents" day. The weather has been pleasant, and I am still happily distracting myself from my upcoming appointment on Wednesday. If RL were like SL, I'd just redeliver a new mesh body and fix all my problems, lol, but for now we let the pros do what they must to repair us. Redeux Anniversary

 Hiya everyone! Tonight we celebrate the Redeux event's 9th anniversary, which just opened and lasts until the 30th. If you join the Redeux VIP group for free, you can pick up lots of generous gifts here, like the ones I am showing you tonight :) There are also many terrific discounts and even $50L offers to peruse, which means this event is absolutely a must-see. We get to save money, claim some gifts, and enjoy a tradition of 9 years and counting!

For my first look, I am enjoying the TRES- Cheryl purple dress with its high neck, bare shoulders, and low slung belt that contrast the plummy purple very nicely. It comes in sizes for Kupra, Kups, Legacy, Maitreya, and Petite mesh bodies. The gold trim at the hemline and collar go great with the belt's light caramel shade of brown too, don't you think?

Another irresistible group gift I can't help but share is the UNA. Katse Fatpack. The top in two versions (with or without bra) and skirt are all designed to fit Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, and Petite mesh bodies, and we also receive a handy HUD with 12 colors foe each piece. The soft gathering on the tops is as lovely as the subtle pinstriping seen on the skirt, and I love how both have double rows of buttons for a little metallic flair.

Next I changed into the elegant APRIL Purple by COVETED! group gift. Its shirt style dress has an attached belt and slits (more like notches really) on each thigh, with black high heels included to match that belt. We receive Legacy, Bombshell, Perky, Maitreya, Petite, Lara X, Petite X, Reborn, and Waifu sizes of the dress, with compatible shoe sizes of Legacy, Maitreya, Lara X, and Reborn feet. The mods and variants for those brands all affect the breasts primarily, so the shoes will work just fine :)

At least three difference songs popped into my head when I spotted our Manikin- Q-Tees- Work It - Redeux Gift, so I'm curious to hear what you thought of :) The tank top is a charcoal color with pretty pink trim, and the words WORK IT are white outlined in that same pink hue. It fits Gen X Classic, Gen X Curvy, Legacy, Perky, Lara X, Petite X, Reborn, and Waifu mesh bodies. I decided that the white pair of Delizio jeans from their fatpack (marketplace gift) would bring out the text on the shirt nicely, and will go well with my next/final look too.

My final look of the night is the gorgeous Faida - Allison Blue gift, a snug fitting shirt with lace at the cropped hem and on our short sleeves. There are sizes for Gen X Classic, Kupra, Kups, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, Petite, Prima Busty, Prima Petite, and Reborn mesh bodies.

Whew, I don't usually root for a weekend to hurry up and end, but I will be much happier when the housepest guest leaves in about 8 hours. The entire lower floor of the house smells like beer and is probably loaded with cat dander, so my allergies are bound to be a struggle for a bit. At least it will be quieter, and I can play Hello Kitty again :) I've been watching hockey playoffs and having a great time doing so. Redeux Black Friday Sale

 Hiya everyone! Tonight's post brings us into the holiday season, as we're visiting the Redeux Black Friday & Cyber Monday event. If you join the free Redeux VIP group, you can claim gifts at nearly every booth for free while you shop for awesome bargains up to 50% discounted. I know I spotted several tempting goodies that might be making their way into my wardrobe and home decor very soon :) We do have until the 2nd of December to stop by, so almost 2 weeks of affordable shopping remain.

For my first look of the evening, I'm feeling flirty in our Cloe Mermaid gift from Una. I affectionately call the rear view 'peek-a-booty', as it does reveal quite a bit of our bum...in fact it's only covered by the two studded straps you see the side of. The dress comes in Freya, Isis, Hourglass, and Maitreya mesh body sizes. I really like the deep forest green, and you'll see plenty more greens at this event :)

This lovely gift is the Faida - Avalia blue dress, which commands attention by being a mix of elegance and sex appeal. Those buttons, that squared neckline, and those softly puffed sleeves, all divine details! This dress fits Kupra, Kups, Legacy, Maitreya, and Petite mesh bodies. I did find another gift of theirs too at a different booth, but it is much less SFW ;)

There's something so fun about wearable art, like the [S&C] Graffiti Swimsuit - Orange gift from Swansong & Co. This playful suit is provided in Maitreya, Petite, Lara X, and Petite X mesh body sizes, and really does live up to its name with the colorful graffiti lettering and artwork displayed on the fabric. It feels like bikinis usually get the attention for being sexy, but this style swimsuit is cut just high enough on the hips to be just as alluring :)

The #Benk Ruby Little Dress #Olive group gift is a terrific style in an ideal color for this time of year. We receive Legacy, Perky, Petite, Maitreya, Flat, Petite, Lara X, Petite X, Prima Busty, Prima Petite, Tonic Curvy, Tonic Fine, and Tonic Mini mesh body sizing. I'm always a fan of crossed straps or any intriguing strap styling in the back, and there is something so flattering about the loosely draped bodice. 

My final look features yet another wonderful shade of green :) Our TRES - Luz Emerald gift is a sweet ruffled treat in sizing for Kupra, Legacy, Maitreya, and Petite mesh bodies. The style really makes me want to dance, as it reminds me of fringe and disco or even flappers. I'm also thinking that all these greens are so nice for not only Christmas but the Yule celebration in December, since both involve evergreen trees :) 

It was a quiet day here, which was a nice change of pace after the frantic Wednesday I had. We went to 4 different places, and my anxiety was pretty elevated by the second stop. After all that, I was emotionally drained and then dealing with the discovery that the food I got was too strongly seasoned for my delicate digestive system, sigh. The acid reflux and nausea are both finally easing up though, so that's a relief at least. I'm looking forward to dinner with my parents tomorrow, and we can take care of any final planning for the following week's festivities then.  Hiya everyone! Tonight it's time to explore the sewers again, with some more Scoop-N-Score hunt prizes. This SL Syndicate annual event is particularly tricky this year, with 2 levels of sewer pipes to examine, which you can navigate by clicking the ladders you'll run across as you wander through this maze. It was an impressive challenge that made me grateful for Xan's assistance, since he is much better than I am with mazes and the facts and figures part of this. We've got at least 260 poops to find, all of which contain terrific free prizes. We certainly earn these rewards ;) You've got all month to visit and enjoy the shopping up on the sunny side of things before diving below into the spooky darkness of the sewers. As I've mentioned in my other posts, please be aware that the sewers contain adult content (sex toys, penises, mature language, etc.) and spiders, blood, gore, body parts, creepy dolls...a little bit of everything really! There are various rooms and corners with different decorations, but it's mainly a labyrinth of pipes.

For my first look, I am wearing the :: DETENTION :: Cruel Summer Shirt - Black - prize, a cropped top with fuzzy edges and an image on the front that calls to mind a movie that just might make you Scream ;) This prize fits eBody, Mounds, Waifu, Lara X, and Legacy mesh bodies. I think that [Apika] decided we need some company in the sewers, or as a reminder of how much fun we had there, with their Poop Animesh - Unicorn friend in my left hand. There are 3 versions in each color (left hand, right hand, and head) as there are multiple poops that contain these little buddies. Each has flies zipping around because even our companions deserve friends, lol, and you can click the top of their heads (?) to change or hide the hovertext that allows you to name them. I hid mine, and it took several clicks because I kept missing and spinning around instead. I think I amused him, as he is grinning at me...

We managed to find all 4 presents from The Muses, so I'm sharing them two by two. The Ritual Dress - Moss is the pretty frock on the left, while Ritual Dress - Soil is the earthy colored dress on the right above. Each of these lovely prizes includes Gen X Classic, Gen X Curvy, Lara X, Petite X, Legacy, Bombshell, Reborn, and Waifu mesh body sizes. The deep V neckline front and back is such a nice touch, and I am definitely a fan of the intricate embroidered pattern on the skirt to match the waistband and sleeves. 

Next I did a side-by-side look of The Muses - Ritual Dress - Brick to the left, and Rust is the pretty shade on our right. Since they're the same style as the prior photo, they come in the same sizes to fit lots of popular mesh body brands and mods. I noticed there are other colors available to purchase up at the shopping event, so be sure to check that out too if you like :)

One of the trio of UNA prizes is this amazing UNA. Daynarys Sky outfit. It does not have a size indicated, but includes the dress, skirt, belt, cape, and collar you see above. It fit my Lara X quite nicely, and I had tried it on with Legacy the other day which also was a good fit. There is also a HUD provided with 16 colors each for cape and skirt, and 14 gem hues. 

For my final look of the night, I am enjoying our UNA. Lilit Dress Blue prize. There are solid and sheer versions of this elegant gown, in sizes for eBody Curvy, Freya, Isis, Hourglass, and Maitreya mesh bodies. I was still wearing Lara X so I did a bit of alpha-ing, and realized it fit pretty well :) The deep neckline will frame your favorite necklace beautifully (and your cleavage!) while the daring side slit shows off your entire left leg for added va-va-va-voom!

It was a nice day here, with cooler weather and a fun visit to my parents' for dinner. On the way we passed by a farm that has some alpacas, and I got a good laugh out of seeing two of them rolling around on their backs like when a dog is scratching themselves on a rug. Then they each just sat down, perfectly content, so they must have hit the right spots ;) I never knew they did that, and I really want to interact with one now. My dad said the ones he's petted have been very cuddly and friendly. Yes, I am a bit jealous, lol, but I think I will get the chance eventually. Otherwise I've been planning my weekend, writing a shopping list, and reminding myself periodically that my therapy on Sunday is 3 hours earlier so I don't brainfart and miss it. ACCESS Holiday Gifts

 Hiya everyone! Tonight we're headed to the ACCESS Event, where there are gifts under a couple of the trees in the front landing area and several at various displays inside. All of these are for the free VIP group, so give that a join and then click all the treats you can find :) I had a great time as always visiting, and there are some very tempting offers for sale so I've got a shopping list in mind too. No rest for the weary this week though, so I'll be back there soon as we have until the 8th of January to complete our shopping and gift finding.

I'm starting out with a pair of gifts that I think work beautifully together :) The Elune. Holly Top - ACCESS GIFT is a seasonal bare-shouldered top with long sleeves and tiny stars scattered about on the red fabric. It fits Legacy, Reborn, Juicy, and Waifu mesh bodies. The ::GB:: Leather Short Pants / Black gift from Gabriel is a great pairing for it or practically any top already in your wardrobe. This flattering pair of shorts is provided in Legacy and Lara X sizes, and is cut to show off our navel but cover most of our cheeks and all of the crack. In other words it's flirty yet relatively modest, especially by SL standards.

Next I slipped into the "Off-Line" x "Dreya" Set / Fatpack gift, and I adore it! The top and skirt are each included in sizing for BBL, Freya, Hourglass, Kupra, Kups, Legacy, Maitreya, and Reborn mesh bodies, with a HUD that offers 28 colors for each while letting you adjust transparency and materials.

Another generous gift is this UNA. Brina RedBrown outfit, which is one piece with a layered look. There are sizes for Legacy and Maitreya mesh bodies, and I used the body's HUD to do a considerable amount of alpha-ing to ensure a proper looking fit. The dark red jacket is a festive look over the brown top, belt, and skirt that falls ever so slightly lower than the jacket in the rear. It looks a little shorter than the jacket from the front though which is interesting :)

Wowza! This stunningly sexy gift is our AURICA Selena Bodysuit GREEN. It has plunging V openings both front and back, created by zippers being lowered. We receive Legacy, Perky, Reborn, and Waifu mesh body sizes, as well as a HUD with 3 metals for that zipper. 

Do you need a fresh new manicure for the holidays? Then be sure to grab the MILOTA: Santi Gift that I'm enjoying here :) These super long mesh nails fit Legacy, Maitreya, and Reborn hands, just hide your body's built in nails with its HUD and add the appropriate size to your outfit. They have two candy cane striped nails, then some solid white with either stars or adorable gingerbread cookies painted on. This is the type of SL manicure that I would be tempted to bring a photo of to a RL nail salon as inspo :)

It was a tiring day but I managed to get some rest after my appointment too, and my doctor and I agreed that I should try the medication that the DNA test indicated would be a good fit. She has had good results with other patients with the med we are trying and is completely on board with it, and has found this DNA test to be quite useful so I am relieved to have some scientific guidance here :) Tomorrow is my hair cut so another very different appointment, but also causing some havoc by being just a few hours before my usual Friday dinner plans with my parents. I also have appointments on Sunday and Monday, lol, so Saturday is going to be my day of rest. This is chaotic even if it weren't just a few days before a holiday, but sometimes we just have to take a few deep breaths and try our best to hang in. Scoop N Score Prizes

 Hiya everyone! Tonight it's time to head down to the SL Syndicate sewers for their 6th annual Scoop N Score hunt. Can you believe it's been six years already? I've been laughing my way through this challenging but oh-so-worthwhile hunt every round (with Xan's help which adds to the giggles), and this was no exception. All hunts have a hunt object to seek out, and this one is of course, poop. Yep, little turds of various sizes, but these have cute faces and slender legs. The sewer system is an intricate maze, and my suggestions are to copy/paste the stores from the hunt website and keep track there of which ones you've found, so you'll know when you've gotten them all, and I also derender each one after I've claimed it. Taking notes on what decor you've seen might also be helpful, and I am a huge fan of teamwork for this one :) There were times I'd stand at an intersection and Xan would dart up each of the possible paths, using me as a placeholder. It took a few hours, which is not bad considering there are over 140 prizes to find.

My first look is the *Sweet Kajira*Gretta Dress pink/green Maitreya which is one of several (8) gifts you can find from SK. The name indicates the size and describes the dress quite well :) The style would work so well with all sorts of roleplay and -core fashion looks, with the romantic corset and lace. I am also a big fan of this color combo, so it was a delight to find this poop. Sentences that only make sense for SL, right? LOL!

Another store with multiple prizes/poos waiting for us is UNA., and I'm feeling extra flirty in their NoaDress SKY treat :) There are sizes for Freya, Isis, and Maitreya mesh bodies included, and the style is ready to turn heads for sure. The halter chain matches the waist chain, then the skirt is tied in place loosely to show off much of our bum. Even the neckline is low enough that you can see a few pixels of nipple, which will vary by shape and skin detailing.

The UNA.Cloe Blue is equally gorgeous and sexy, as is their custom :) This bare backed beauty is provided in sizing for Freya, Isis, Hourglass, and Maitreya mesh bodies, and is held in place by gently draped belts in the back. I am amused at the fact I've now showed my booty twice in this post so far, although I did try to make it more of a side view and not as in your face.

Picture this scenario if you dare...you wear this stunning UNA.BelleDress Black prize to a fancy, formal event, as it greatly deserves. Someone compliments you on it, and you get to reply "thanks, I found it for free in a sewer" followed by their stunned silence. Then you get to add that you found it in a turd, which will either result in more silence or lots and lots of questions :) Our dress is provided in a Maitreya size, with a HUD that lets us select from 26 gem colors that add a tiny touch of color to our full black gown.

For my final look of the night, I happily slipped into the Luas Elira Purple prize. This sheer lacy diagonal hemmed dress and its belt are each included in Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, Petite, Reborn, and Juicy mesh body sizes. Since they are separates, you can wear the strapless dress with or without the belt, and there's a HUD with 2 metals so you can decide if you want the belt to be silver or gold. I'm usually a silver fan, but gold and purple gives such a royal flavor that I can't resist that either. 

As with most weekends lately, it was a humdinger of a busy one here. My therapy today was intense, and then I had a serious talk with my parents about my grandmother. She's been getting weaker lately and lost her appetite, so the caretaker told my parents that she's seen this before and it is usually an indication of nearing the end of life. My uncle (her son) was there when my parents were, unplanned coincidence, and his younger son was there too...she didn't recognize her son or grandson. My mom said it's also the first week in ages that she didn't ask about me, so she may not remember me right now either. I am very sad, but also want to tell them all that I have enough memories of her in my heart that it's okay if she's lost hers. Apologies to anyone who just got teary, as I did, and I know it's a very rare gift to still have a grandparent at my age. She's close to 98 years old and I believe it's been a good, full life overall. My cousin, the one who was there, moved a couple of weeks ago to a location closer to me, so perhaps I can see him and his wife (and eventually their baby, due in September) more often now :) See, there are still positives in life and I refuse to give into the sorrow completely. Happy Anniversary Redeux

 Hiya everyone! Tonight it's time to head over to the Redeux Event, where they are celebrating their 7th anniversary this round (April 16-30). There are gifts at nearly every display that you can claim with your free Redeux group tag, and everyone has special $50L offers as well as a selection of discounted items. I must say, April was a great month in SL for starting events, as so many have been enjoying their anniversaries this month :) I'm randomly pondering the pronunciation of redeux, as initially my American brain went re-ducks, then I realized it could be re-do. I did see a video once of SL folks trying to pronounce various store names and event names, and someone had the correct info and was keeping score. We're all so used to seeing the names in print rather then hearing them out loud :) Some of the designers here are ones I see quite often while others are less familiar, so it was a very nice mix for me.

The first outfit I tried on this evening is the stunning *SK* C a r l a RED Maitreya gift from Sweet Kajira. The top and skirt both fit the Maitreya Lara mesh body, as you probably guessed from the name, and are separate pieces. The wrapped skirt and playful top are wonderfully crafted, showing just enough skin, and such beautiful textures! 

Next I shimmied into my favorite Delizio jeans from the marketplace, handy to show off tops like this adorable Manikin - Q-Tees - Sun - Tank gift. The front says "Girls just wanna have sun" in a clever summery twist on the Cyndi Lauper song from my youth, and the soft pink hue is simply dreamy. There are sizes for Freya, Gen X Classic, Gen X Curvy, Hourglass, Kupra, Lara X, Lara X Petite, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, Petite, Reborn, and Waifu mesh bodies provided. 

I'm also grateful to Faida for their lovely Angie paisley event gift :) This cropped tank top has sweet spaghetti straps and ruffle in solid mauve to go really well with the paisley of the main top, just an adorable shirt to wear this time of year or whenever you wish. The gift includes Cinnamon Chai, Hourglass, Kupra, Kups, Legacy, Maitreya, Flat, Petite, and Tonic Mini mesh body sizing. 

For this look I kept on the Delizio jeans and Faida top, but added something special from UNA. Their Olga Jaket Sky has a bleached denim appearance, very short cropped with 3/4 length sleeves and two versions so you can decide if you're in the mood to wear with or without gems. Both fit the Maitreya body, and this gift provides plenty of layering possibilities for your favorite tops or dresses. This seems like it can go either casual or more formal, so be creative and have fun!

The final look for this post comes from a collaboration of Velvet Whip and Faida, their charming [VW] & Faida - Naevia Rose dress. There are Legacy and Maitreya sizes provided of this one shouldered slip dress with handkerchief hemline and earth toned ombre. I really like the leafy pattern too, up top and at the hem. Sometimes we just need something that feels like it honors nature :) The rope belt is attached to really bring things together nicely.

It was a pretty good day here, and I successfully did an outing to a classic 1950s style diner to pick up dinner :) The food there is always tasty, and I grew up near the original location so it brings back fond memories. Not of the 50s as I'm not that old, LOL, but spent time there in the 80s and 90s. The drive was stressful but not full-blown panic attack, just high anxiety. I'm really trying my best.
