Hiya everyone! Tonight we will visit another sim of the SL17B Shop and Hop event, for Second Life's 17th birthday celebration. There are 10 entire sims dedicated to shopping, with designers who create clothing, accessories, skins, hair, home decor, and more. Each display offers discounted selections, and nearly all have free gifts for visitors which is what I am sharing tonight from the Gilded sim. It is easiest for me to take it one region at a time so I am giving you one landmark, no confusion and trying to get into multiple sims at once. It is still fairly busy there, but definitely worth the visits.
For my first look this evening, I paired two gifts that coordinate nicely but will also work as part of whatever outfit you wish to create :) The top is the gift from Pink Cream Pie, called !PCP :: Melly Tank [Fruity Pack]. The halter style top comes in Freya, Legacy, and Maitreya sizes, with a HUD offering 12 prints and 12 solids for the main portion plus 12 colors each for the trim and string. The gift from Adorsy is simply named SL17B Gift Skirt, and is provided in Legacy and Maitreya sizing. The HUD included lets you pick from 20 main textures (all either striped or dotted) and 2 metals, plus 30 solid colors for the built in panties beneath which can also be turned on or off via HUD.
This gift is ideal for summer too, the .::Dead Dollz::. Silene Swimsuit - Tropical. With flowers and flamingoes in the pattern, of course it caught my attention :) This daring one piece has been created for the Maitreya mesh body, with a deep V neckline below a strappy belt, and ties in the back.
It is so appropriate to find this shiny gold gift from Baiastice on the Gilded sim! This is their Gio Belted Dress - Leopard, in sizes for Alice, Freya, Hourglass, Legacy, and Maitreya mesh bodies. There is a HUD included too that allows you to show/hide the belt and the built in panties. For some reason this dress makes me think nightclub, but there are many playful places you could wear it of course.
My next look shows just how intriguing a slender sheath dress can be. It is the Valentina E. Carrie Knit Dress Teal, and is designed for the Maitreya mesh body. The texture softly ripples with waves that, combined with the colors, put me in mind of the ocean at sunset. Simply beautiful!
For my final look of the evening, I am enjoying a sample of the .:PULSE:. gift which is their Vibsy Dress - Maitreya Lara Fatpack. There are 8 colors of dress included: army (seen on the right above), black, blue, blush, plum (left above), red, white, and wine. The belly chain belt comes in gold, onyx, rose gold, and silver for 4 options to mix and match with the dresses, or you can wear the dress alone without a belt of course. The waist chain really draws attention to the peekaboo opening in the back I think, and the low cut neckline.
My computer fan replacement has become a case of good news/bad news, well more like bad news then good news. We ordered the fans according to the information we found online for my exact case, but one of them was too big and that turned out to be the fan that needs replacing. The good news is that we ordered a spare fan that is smaller but also compatible with the case for that top fan, so I will have a proper fan installed very soon. There was research involved so that is why a slight delay, but the PC has been cleaned out and is otherwise doing fine :) I have a chiropractor appointment in the afternoon, so I think the plan is to do it upon returning home. I forget exactly how old the PC is, but most of the parts have been replaced over time so it isn't a bad setup and I am grateful that it works as well as it does. Hiya everyone! Tonight I have a sampling of another Winter Shop and Hop sim's treats for you, the Gilded sim. This event is extraordinary, with 120 vendors filling 6 sims with discounted offers for you to celebrate the holidays. Just about all of them have free gifts in blue gift boxes with white lids, so be sure to give each of those a click while you are browsing these displays. Need some gifts for next week? Two tops to start the evening, on the left you see the evani. ANITA sweater [GIFT] found on the Gilded sim. It comes in a Maitreya rigged size and includes a HUD that lets you tint and show/hide the lace trim as well as turn the alpha mask off and on. On the right I am sporting the Rebel Gal gift called Fluffy Fox Sweater - Print 3. This comfy top is provided in Freya, Isis, and Maitreya sizes, with trees and flowers (poinsettias?) knit into its pattern. With both of these I am wearing the same Delizio jeans in white that I wore yesterday, a marketplace gift with plenty of colors in system layers, Maitreya and Omega appliers.
Don't let the chilly weather make you bundle up if you have a party or event to attend this season; instead slip into this gorgeous gift from Dead Dollz and create some heat! Their flirty Bebe Dress - Petroleum is sized for the Maitreya body and has an asymmetrical hem with slit on the right thigh, deep neckline and straps down and across the back. The gems you see dusted across it can be adjusted with the included HUD which offers 4 colors and some other settings you can experiment with.
This versatile look is our gift from Candy Kitten called Forever Yours, a single piece with fun layered appearance. It comes in Freya, Legacy, and Maitreya mesh body sizes, with a HUD offering 6 patterns for the dress, 5 color choices for the laces, 5 for the bra, 2 for the lace on the bra, and 2 for the trim. The best thing to do is start clicking until you come up with a combo you enjoy, then adjust as needed ;) Okay, I confess that is what I did.
RAMA went all out this season with their gift for us, their Seymour Sequin Dress FATPACK. It consists of Maitreya and Slink Physique sizes each in 14 different mainly gem-themed colors, an impressive array to be sure. They are champagne (seen on the right above), diamond, emerald, gold, jade, jet, onyx, peridot (left), rose quartz, ruby, sapphire, silver, tanzanite, and topaz. Whew! It reminded me of a friend who dated her now-husband for 7 years before they married, and for every occasion he bought her jewelry with a different gemstone so she had a wild collection of earrings, rings, necklaces, bracelets, I think even an anklet or two. He finished with the diamond engagement ring. Just think, in SL we can accomplish all that with a HUD, hehe.
Speaking of the versatility of HUDs, this fantastic set is the Pretty Deceased gift called Scherry Outfit. It is comprised of the fur, thong, bra in 3 patterns, and skirt in the same 3 patterns (foxy, snowy, and tartan) each in Maitreya and Legacy sizes. The HUDs are so impressive, each with plenty of features...the fur HUD has 6 color choices for the pearls and you can adjust the glow, while the thong HUD (labeled top HUD) has 6 colors to choose from. The skirt's HUD has 5 sizes and 5 colors for the puff dangling from the chain belt, 9 tag quotes plus on/off for the tag, an on/off for each of the 2 chains (labeled A and B) and 6 chain metals for each individually. Get creative and have fun with this one, these HUDs will let you customize this look to suit your personal tastes.
I am still emotionally overwhelmed from the hockey game I watched, not just because we won but because so much was done to honor and support our player who is facing a cancer battle. It was our first home game since his diagnosis, so his fans got to show him how much we care and are behind him. My favorite player was back from his concussion and helped lift the team's spirits, as he is an energetic playmaker, and it just felt good to see them looking out for each other. Meanwhile I am working on plans for the next week or so, and it is a challenge but will be worth the effort. How does the time fly by so quickly this time of year? Please take time whenever you can to indulge in some self-care, remember you can't help anyone else have a good time if you are overly stressed. Hiya everyone! Tonight we visit the FaMESHed event for its December round (open until the 27th) and see some of their delightful group gifts. The group is free to join, and many of the participating designers have small gift boxes in front of their displays that you can claim with the group tag. I was really pleased with all the thoughtful treats that we can use to celebrate the holiday of our choice, and hope you enjoy them too.
First we have the playful gift from VINYL which is their Hellershanks Sweater Dress Pak. The long top with one bared shoulder and tied at the hem is provided in sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and Legacy mesh bodies. There are modesty panties included too in the same sizes, with a HUD that lets you choose from 16 colors for them. By the way, the image on the sweater shows a status bar partly filled, and says "LAZY DAY loading..." :)
For my next look, I chose the Dhoma gift called Shayla Robe Green, which includes two flirty versions. The closed (shown) and open (untied belt, breasts still covered but panties revealed) each come in sizes for Freya, Maitreya, and Hourglass mesh bodies. The texture has a satiny shimmer to it, with nice stitching at all the hems.
Kaithleen's is offering their Cindy Dress - Mint as a free group gift this round. It comes in eBody, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique sizing, with a HUD that offers 9 color options for the stripe in the middle of the white edging. As you can see from the side view, there is a slit on each thigh that adds visual interest and probably makes walking a bit easier in such a snug dress :) The stripes have a sporty feel, and I appreciate the variety in the colors.
There are a lot of terrific tops among our group gifts, such as the ChristmasDeer Sweater from Just BECAUSE. The white silhouette of a reindeer with magnificent antlers looks beautiful against the knit red background. Our gift includes Freya, Hourglass, Legacy, and Maitreya sizing.
My final look of the evening is the Dead Dollz gift called Luka Sweater - Indigo. It is included in a single Maitreya size, and I love the contrast of the extra long right sleeve compared to the mostly bare left side which is tied gently at the cropped hem. The color shows as a lavender or periwinkle shade for me because of my windlight settings, really lovely. In this photo and the previous one I am wearing my favorite marketplace freebie which is Delizio jeans in one of their several colors (black) that are included in system layers plus Maitreya and Omega appliers.
I had a very difficult morning in SL, a weird technical glitch where I tried on a system layer tattoo and things went wonky. It said the item couldn't be found in their database, so I deleted the whole folder and unpacked a new copy that did the same. Then anything I removed (was unpacking things via HUDs) made 2 errors pop up about the tattoo not being in the database. Then I turned gray except my hair and nails, talk about odd! I relogged, cleared inventory cache, nothing changed. It finally accidentally fixed itself when I deleted the links to it from the current outfit folder (that shouldn't have existed since it never appeared on me) and added another unpacking HUD that must have caused my current outfit folder to reset itself. Whew! Unpacking comes before taking photos of course, so had it not been resolved I would have been unable to post anything tonight. Hiya everyone! Tonight we begin the SL16B celebration, which stands for Second Life 16th Birthday. I couldn't resist visiting the shopping event, which covers 5 whole sims and most of the participating designers are offering gifts to help us celebrate. I am separating them by sim, since it's easier (on everyone) for me to tell you that all of tonight's looks are from the Aurelian sim than to say there are items from 3 different sims in one post. There are so many people visiting these sims that you will probably experience considerable lag, particularly if you go in these early days, but the event lasts until the 8th of July so you have plenty of time to join the crowds. Suggestions that might help with lag: take off everything and wear a full body alpha, and adjust your settings (preferences -> graphics -> general, maximum complexity) so that most avatars will become 'jellydolls' and therefore easier to render. Funny story - when I was in the 5th of the five sims I visited this morning, I wound up crashing and was set to log back in where I'd last been...so I logged in to find myself in the fountain in the middle of the sim! Not what I was expecting, LOL, but my avi had a nice cool swim I guess.
My first look is the gift from Candy kitten, called *CK* Flower power dress Present. It comes in Freya, Hourglass, and Maitreya sizes, and you can probably guess that there is a texture HUD provided too. That offers 7 different choices, fun patterns like flowers and watermelons and the two choices seen above.
A great way to celebrate summer is with this -Narcisse- Ashley Monokini in its SL16B Special Edition. It comes in a Maitreya mesh size, in a bright crimson shade with tiny white polka dots. The intricate straps are so much fun!
Maybe you are craving something green instead, well [[ Masoom ]] can help you with their gift called Maple dress in Green. There are also optional, tintable panties in addition to the dress, each in sizes for Freya, Isis, Hourglass, Physique, and Maitreya mesh bodies. Did you notice the playful cutout on the left hip?
This lovely gown can be found in the Aurelian sim too, at the Dead Dollz display. It's called Izabel Dress in Azure, and is crafted for the Maitreya mesh body. Just look at that satiny texture, with tiny embroidered flowers and petite ruffles. The halter style is beautiful, and the back has a flirtatiously deep plunge.
My final look this evening features the top from Eliavah, which is called Amaranthine Blouse. That deep red with golden pattern looks terrific on the ruched texture, and the wrapped off-the-shoulder style. The gift includes sizes for Freya, Isis, Hourglass, and Maitreya mesh bodies.
It was a hectic morning, thanks to weird internet issues that affected a large chunk of the East coast...that last photo was taken when I had no internet anymore and didn't realize it yet, but my pose wouldn't work and I knew something was off. What I thought was glitches turned out to be a DNS issue or something, and my ISP was downright rude when I tweeted their support account. Oh well, it was resolved eventually and I am very relieved. Hiya everyone! There are a few days left of the Black Fashion Fair, two sims full of terrific fashion, exclusive items, and some gifts for free or a linden. The event runs until May 1st, so don't delay. How about a peek at some of the gifts?
This goes to show that not all of the goodies there are limited to black. This gift from Petit Chat sure puts me in a summer mood! The top and the wrap around the bottom are mesh, and the bikini bottom is in system layers. For my nails, I went back to a great marketplace freebie from Xanthe, several colors of a lacy pattern but the yellow was a nice fit.
This may be more of what you expected from the Black Fashion Fair, hehe. The dress from Dead Dollz is so detailed, it's hard to believe it's free. I love the lace texture, and that thigh-high slit shows off the satiny inner texture amazingly. My earrings are a free gift from Maxi Gossamer, and come with a pair of single triangles as well as the triple shown. My shoes are a dollarbie gift from Essenz, and the nails are another marketplace freebie, this time from (AB). That means my entire outfit of dress, shoes, nails, and earrings cost a grand total of $1L, fantastic!!
Plastik is a consistently generous designer, and their free gift at the Black Fashion Fair is no exception. There are several boxes in there, containing everything from dresses to pants to corsets and more, each in thematic black. Above you can see two of them, the Ananke top and the Anael leggings. I am also wearing the free gift from [La Baguette] which is the smudged eyeliner....with my allergies lately, that's totally how I feel.
There are only a few days left in Sn@tch's current fishing round, which instead of an outfit (usually 20+ pieces to mix and match for several looks) is accessories grab bags. I haven't had a chance to do much fishing there unfortunately, but I did manage to 'catch' the cardigan and tutu I'm wearing in the photo above. The cardigan is #19 called Effie, and the tutu is #20 Sonia. I thought they looked really cute together and with the shirt from Plastik in the previous photo, the Ananke top. Lots of mesh there, but fortunately they seem to be playing nicely together :)
