Brass Menagerie and Spring Fling

 Hiya everyone! Tonight we are exploring the Steam XVII Hunt - The Brass Menagerie, a free gridwide hunt with dozens of impressive prizes for us to enjoy. They are hiding inside golden gears, and you will find a picture of the hunt object on the website along with landmarks and previews of some of the gifts we can claim. Each store has a hunt poster with a gear that gives us a hint, either in hovertext or a notecard when you click it, which are very helpful in locating them especially the trickily hidden ones. I also have another exclusive offer to show you from the Spring Fling event, a sexy dress to liven up your seasonal wardrobe.

My first look is a hunt prize from the Storybook Cats Shop, one of my favorite spots to visit in these hunts because of the precious Kittycats roaming around. The prize is Steam Theme Tees, and the women's version seen here comes in a classic M size along with Freya, Legacy, and Maitreya mesh body versions. The soft blue knit texture is accentuated with fun steampunk images like the bird on the front and a well dressed lady riding a cool scooter. 

If you are feeling nautical, be sure to find the gear at Thistle Moon Designs so you can receive their TMD Let's Go Sailing Dress for Women. It is in the same gear as prizes in Rebirth, Toddleedoo, and Men's sizing. The women's starts with a peasant top in system/BOM layer and Omega applier, then continues with the skirt and jacket in standard mesh sizes plus a Maitreya version. The white stockings I'm wearing are also included, in system layers and an Omega applier just like the top. It is fun to be able to wear it in various ways, adding as many pieces as you wish.

Angel Wings Boutique has a very elegant prize for us, simply called AWB - Steam Hunt Gifty. The mesh gown includes sizes for Kupra, Legacy, and Maitreya mesh bodies, then we can add the skirt prims as I have on the left. The shoes lace all the way up to the thigh and come in Freya, Isis, Hourglass, Legacy, and Maitreya sizing. Even the necklace I'm wearing is included, the beaded necklace collar with RLV and a resize script built in. 

For some casual steampunk fashion, head over to K-K's Designs to find their Morasses Steam 2022 March Hunt prize, one of two as there is also a gift for the guys. This halter top with crossed straps in the back has the same golden pattern as the high waisted leggings, both of which are provided in standard mesh sizes as well as Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and TMP versions. 

My final look this evening comes from the HORL display at the Spring Fling event, and is their exclusive offer among several terrific choices for sale there. The sexy Pamela Dress is just $210L and comes in sizes for Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, and Petite mesh bodies. There is also a HUD provided with 10 textures, a mix of solids and patterns so you can change your look with ease. The style has a flirty crisscross top and gathered skirt, to show off our legs and every curve.

It was a very nice weekend here, with decent weather that made the Saturday farmers market extra enjoyable. Then I watched a hockey game this afternoon which was a bittersweet win after a big trade, since losing the team captain after all these years is rough. My stomach is uneasy tonight, probably a touch of anxiety about the ultrasound I'm having tomorrow to check on my liver. Ruling out problems is important, and I don't expect them to find anything troubling but I think my nerves are because of all the scar tissue and pain in my entire abdomen so it won't be comfortable. Several years ago I had multiple surgeries that led to a need for 2 large patches of mesh, so just think - I have mesh body parts in RL and SL ;) I hope you all had a beautiful weekend, many magical magpie hugs to everyone!!

Steampunk Wonderland

Hiya everyone! Tonight I have some prizes to show you from the Steam XIII Hunt: STEAMpunk Wonderland. It is a free gridwide hunt with 71 stops, so you will definitely want to get started right away if you haven't done so already since it wraps up at the end of the month. Because of so many different types of stores involved, the prizes range from mens and womens clothing to home decor and accessories and much more. There are hints at the stores on the hunt signs which also have a sample of the gear you'll be searching for, and the website has the links to the stores in case you need them on hand. Several of the stores have mini hunts, so you just may get lost down a rabbit hole or two, plan accordingly ;)

I did mention mini hunts for a good reason, as our very first look here is at one of 12 prizes from the Mountain Rose mini hunt. Just follow your hints in each notecard, and enjoy exploring some fun scenery to find all the gears and claim many generous gifts. This outfit is the Steampunk Alice Outfit, including the dress in standard fitmesh sizes plus earrings, headband, ankle boots, and even the white rabbit doll with built in holding pose. A quick note about the headband, when I added it the attach point was my right hand so I had to attach to my nose instead and edit it into place, but it really wasn't difficult to do and I am no expert at that sort of thing so you can do it too :) The boots are for default avatar feet, no special mesh feet required and you can just remove or hide your usual mesh tootsies which is what I opted to do.

Storybook Cats is offering a more grownup Alice dress, their SBC Steampunk Wonderland Gown for the ladies (separate mens prize in the gear next to it). This lovely sheath style comes in fitmesh standard sizes and Belleza, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique versions so you can get a nice fit for most shapes and sizes. Personally I enjoy visiting here to pet their KittyCats! cats, dozens of which are running loose and make the area a feline paradise.

Next we visit Technicolor Dolls to find their gear, which contains this Wonderland Revisited Set. The dress and shoes (socks are attached to the shoes) are each provided in standard mesh sizing, so try them on and see what fits you the best. Those coppery colored gears look so pretty against the blue of the dress, and the heels echo that color to really pull things together. 

Prism Designs has a well hidden gear for us as well, which rewards us with their Prism Agatha Steampunk Coat Skirt Hat Goggles by Jezzixa. The maxi skirt and tailcoat are each included in standard mesh sizes, while the top hat and copper goggles each have built in resize scripts for a perfect fit. The copper band on the hat made me think my hair was poking through at first, LOL, the color match threw me for a loop. This is quite an elegant gift that I am happy to have found.

My last look of the night is from Eclectic Stars, their Temperance - Steamy Wonderland gown. She comes in sizes for Belleza Freya, Isis, Venus, eBody, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine, with an intriguing pattern on the full skirt with gears, cheshire grins, card suits, flamingos and more. What did you notice first?

If you are a fan of the card game Uno, and good with simple math in your head, I'd like to suggest you try their new Dos card game (might be a Target exclusive or was released there first). It involves two piles instead of one, different types of wild cards, and combining cards to get rid of your hand faster. My family and I played earlier and it was entertaining to say the least :) We learned a few things as we went along and reread those directions several times, but all in good fun.
