Hiya everyone! Tonight I am pleased to show you a small sample of the many gifts available at the SL17B Gift Boardwalk. In the past few posts I was sharing gifts found on various sims of the SL17B Shop and Hop event, and this is a separate area featuring entirely free treats from many designers. Some gifts are only available at Shop and Hop, others only at the Boardwalk, and yet others can be found at both it seems. Because of this, I do suggest visiting all potential gift sources if you can for maximum variety.
The first gift I randomly chose to share is one of several from ART & FASHION, who had about 8 presents all at different displays. This is their Siren Mini Dress, a vibrant light green dress with the image of a mermaid on the front, with slits on each thigh and one to reveal some cleavage. The gift includes sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine mesh bodies.
Another irresistible gift from ART & FASHION can be seen here, their Ethnic Midi Dress. It includes fitmesh standard sizes along with Belleza, Maitreya, and Slink versions, and is a very shapely seamed style with that beautiful bold pattern to really catch the eye.
I just realized that each of the 3 gifts from ART & FASHION I chose to show you have increasingly longer hems, as I slipped next into their Vintage Spring Gown. It is long enough to have a slight train, and a cowl gathering beneath the bared upper back. I really enjoy the brushstroke look of the flowers on the front, one of whose petals even reaches around the bodice to the back. This gift includes standard fitmesh sizes plus Belleza, Maitreya, and Slink versions.
Speaking of gowns, this is the Blue Rose Creations Geometric Gown Gift, one of two presents on the boardwalk from Blue Rose Creations. The striking design makes this gown, which is fitted for the Maitreya mesh body, particularly flattering with its solid black sides. It feels both modern and classic at the same time somehow, and I am a fan :)
You will need to click my final look of the evening to see it full sized, to really appreciate the beauty of the Son!a-Edge gift called Sierra Dress Moss. The long gown comes in Freya Perky, Isis Perky, Legacy, Legacy Perky, Hourglass, and Maitreya sizing. The choker is a separate attachment so you can wear with or without, and just wait until you see the included HUD. It offers so many ways to customize the look...you can show/hide the sleeves, choose from 2 metals for the eyelets, turn the glow on/off, turn the bright on/off, show/hide the flowers along the neckline, turn the light on/off, hide or show the sequins, and choose from 2 colors for the lace. (If you find yourself confused, just wear the dress and try the HUD options until you like what you see!) This dress will require you to have advanced lighting in your SL viewer since it is materials enabled, and the glittery sequins dancing across the skirt have to be seen in person to be fully appreciated.
Somehow I got off to a slow start this evening and am running much later than I wanted to be, but everything is fine other than lots of little distractions :) My appointment went well, and I am looking forward to staying home tomorrow. Hiya everyone! Tonight I will be showing you some of the generous gifts you can find at the Snowflake sim of the SL17B Shop and Hop event. There are 10 sims total that have been set up with talented designers, who have some special discounted selections for use to peruse as well as some thoughtful gifts to help celebrate the 17th birthday of Second Life. I have been here for nearly 13 of those 17 years, and am just so proud to be a tiny part of this incredible community! The Lindens work hard to support us, and there are many creative people out there who contribute in various ways so that our avatars and homes look terrific while visiting all the exciting sims we go to each time we log in. Of the 10 sims in the SL17B Shop and Hop, I have the gifts sorted by sim so I am clear on where to find each one, rather than expecting you to visit multiple crowded locations all at once. It is quite warm here in RL, so some snowflakes would be highly unexpected but in SL we can find those unique icy flakes just by teleporting. I also experienced some hair boredom it seems, LOL, as I was feeling like a quick change to blonde would be a pick-me-up :)
First up this evening, we have the .Safira. Angel SL17B Gift which is a trio of strapless mini dresses with built in panties. It includes sizes for Freya, Isis, Hourglass, Legacy, and Maitreya bodies, each in Blue (seen on the left above), Blush, and Lilac (right). Those buttons are really working overtime to keep our dress in place, LOL, and I love the smattering of stars in various sizes.
My next look is courtesy of -Narcisse- and is their Skye Silk Romper, designed for the Maitreya mesh body. It is provided in 3 different colors: Coral (left above), Florida (right), and Nightshade which is a deep purplish hue. They have plunging necklines and slit sleeves pinned together partway down, and high cut legs for even more flirtatious views.
The gift from AlaFolie is called Floralie Happy, and is a long strapless column dress with a wide layer of lace at the hem. It includes standard mesh sizes as well as Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine, with a HUD to change the main body and the top section each to your choice of 4 vibrant patterns. When you click from the bottom row, the texture appears on the main dress and that top part turns to black, then you can pick a pattern from the top row or leave it solid black as I did on the left here. There are even underpants included in system/BOM layers and an Omega applier for modesty.
There are two well-coordinated gifts at the LYBRA display, so naturally I decided to show them off together :) They are the aptly named SLB17 TOP and SLB17 SKIRT SET, each of which has 2 HUDs included, one with 3 solid color choices and the other with 3 patterns. The top, skirt, and matching panties (which make it a set, and you can wear the skirt without if you are feeling daring) all come in Alice, eBody, Freya, Isis, Hourglass, Legacy, and Maitreya sizes. The blouse has pretty crossed straps in the back and slightly flared hem, while the skirt dips low in the rear and has a fun ruffle.
I kept the LYBRA skirt on to wear with the sassy little gift from {ViSion}. Their gift top is a narrow tube with 5 possible textures via HUD, and you will find arrows to adjust the transparency level on that HUD too; I went down 30% on the right to show you a glimpse of possibilities. The gift comes in Freya, Isis, Hourglass, Legacy, and Maitreya sizing for several popular mesh bodies. I think my avi was feeling very "blonde bombshell" on the right ;)
Is it Friday yet? Okay I know it is nowhere close, LOL, but I am not going to get any decent rest until then it seems. I somehow didn't notice on my calendar that I have a doctor's appointment (podiatrist, stupid toenails that like to grow in wrong) tomorrow so that's 3 days in a row. This magpie prefers her own roost, not flying all over creation in RL...I will be fine of course, just disappointed that things worked out this busy this week. Thursday I am not leaving the house, then Friday I have dinner at my parents', followed by Saturday morning farmers' market. My appointment with my new family doctor earlier went very well, and I feel comfortable with her which is a relief. It is an individual practice in a medical office building, so she can easily refer people to specialists in the same location if necessary, for example there is a woman who does mammography in the building that I can go to when things calm down a bit. I liked that she is not pushy but she is guiding me towards improvements, like suggesting a book with gentle exercises that are good for neuropathy patients. Hiya everyone! Tonight's visit to the SL17B Shop and Hop event brings us to the Sugarplum sim, one of 10 sims packed with talented designers offering discounted selections and of course, gifts to help celebrate SL's 17th birthday :) If you are a shopaholic who enjoys free treats, this is an ideal place to visit even if it is a bit crowded. The event is open until July 12th, so almost two weeks to go which is plenty of time to grab some demos and indulge in a little retail therapy. The sim names seem to be wintry themed, but celebratory nonetheless, and it caused my post's title to sound like I have the wrong month ;)
My first look this evening is the charming Candy kitten gift, called Teddy set dots. It consists of the gathered top with detached puff sleeves and pleated skirt, each in sizes for Freya, Legacy, and Maitreya bodies, plus the fun bear collar with built in resize script. The feminine flavor of the pale pink is balanced by the chains draped on each side of the skirt, and you can easily leave the collar off and wear a different necklace if you prefer. I noticed a lot of people wearing pink earlier, which made me happy since usually I am the only one not wearing all black if I am sporting any other colors.
Speaking of colors, the gift from Avanti has plenty of them swirled together for us. This is their Kemi Dyed Set, with two versions of a flattering tube top and mini skirt each in Alice, Freya, Hourglass, Legacy, and Maitreya mesh body sizing. You could mix and match them I suppose, but today I was feeling the bold pops of color from version 1 together, and the delicate but no less beautiful twists of pink from version 2.
This pretty floral dress is the Belle Epoque gift named Dana, and she is provided in sizing for Legacy and Maitreya bodies. I really appreciate the style, with the wrapped skirt tied at the hem with those long trailing strands that fall below the knee.
Secrets of Gaia has created an exclusive gift for anyone who visits, the SoG SLB17 Gown in eye-popping bright blue. This flattering style is beyond floor length since it falls beautifully all around, and the halter neckline is connected to the back by a slender chain along the spine. The texture is flecked with tiny sparkles, and the shadowing really draws attention to every curve. This gift includes sizes for Freya, Hourglass, Physique, Legacy, and Maitreya bodies.
For my final look of the evening, I selected the gift from lassitude & ennui which is called Elemental leather top - SLB gift. These are all created for the Maitreya mesh body and there are 3 colors included, so you will receive the purple and teal seen above as well as a red version that has a rusty tinge to it so it is a terrific choice for leather. The jeans I am wearing are from my favorite marketplace freebie, a fatpack of jeans from Delizio that come in system/BOM layers plus appliers for Maitreya and Omega. You can get creative and pair the tops with whatever you prefer though, they are versatile.
It was a busy day, and tomorrow is going to be unexpectedly hectic too. I found out recently (yes, during a global health issue) that my new family doctor up and left the practice, so once again I have no doctor to prescribe all my fun medications. Apparently explaining that most doctors in the area are not taking new patients during a pandemic does not matter, and they refused to refill my scripts. Sigh. So I managed to get an emergency visit with a new doctor tomorrow somehow, LOL, well it was initially next week but the office called back to offer a slot opened up by a cancellation. It was sheer luck, and I am grateful, although not used to going out two days in a row lately so I guess I am feeling a little frazzled. New doctors make me nervous anyway, just hoping we click :) I have heard good things, so I am feeling positive too. Hiya everyone! Tonight we will visit another sim of the SL17B Shop and Hop event, for Second Life's 17th birthday celebration. There are 10 entire sims dedicated to shopping, with designers who create clothing, accessories, skins, hair, home decor, and more. Each display offers discounted selections, and nearly all have free gifts for visitors which is what I am sharing tonight from the Gilded sim. It is easiest for me to take it one region at a time so I am giving you one landmark, no confusion and trying to get into multiple sims at once. It is still fairly busy there, but definitely worth the visits.
For my first look this evening, I paired two gifts that coordinate nicely but will also work as part of whatever outfit you wish to create :) The top is the gift from Pink Cream Pie, called !PCP :: Melly Tank [Fruity Pack]. The halter style top comes in Freya, Legacy, and Maitreya sizes, with a HUD offering 12 prints and 12 solids for the main portion plus 12 colors each for the trim and string. The gift from Adorsy is simply named SL17B Gift Skirt, and is provided in Legacy and Maitreya sizing. The HUD included lets you pick from 20 main textures (all either striped or dotted) and 2 metals, plus 30 solid colors for the built in panties beneath which can also be turned on or off via HUD.
This gift is ideal for summer too, the .::Dead Dollz::. Silene Swimsuit - Tropical. With flowers and flamingoes in the pattern, of course it caught my attention :) This daring one piece has been created for the Maitreya mesh body, with a deep V neckline below a strappy belt, and ties in the back.
It is so appropriate to find this shiny gold gift from Baiastice on the Gilded sim! This is their Gio Belted Dress - Leopard, in sizes for Alice, Freya, Hourglass, Legacy, and Maitreya mesh bodies. There is a HUD included too that allows you to show/hide the belt and the built in panties. For some reason this dress makes me think nightclub, but there are many playful places you could wear it of course.
My next look shows just how intriguing a slender sheath dress can be. It is the Valentina E. Carrie Knit Dress Teal, and is designed for the Maitreya mesh body. The texture softly ripples with waves that, combined with the colors, put me in mind of the ocean at sunset. Simply beautiful!
For my final look of the evening, I am enjoying a sample of the .:PULSE:. gift which is their Vibsy Dress - Maitreya Lara Fatpack. There are 8 colors of dress included: army (seen on the right above), black, blue, blush, plum (left above), red, white, and wine. The belly chain belt comes in gold, onyx, rose gold, and silver for 4 options to mix and match with the dresses, or you can wear the dress alone without a belt of course. The waist chain really draws attention to the peekaboo opening in the back I think, and the low cut neckline.
My computer fan replacement has become a case of good news/bad news, well more like bad news then good news. We ordered the fans according to the information we found online for my exact case, but one of them was too big and that turned out to be the fan that needs replacing. The good news is that we ordered a spare fan that is smaller but also compatible with the case for that top fan, so I will have a proper fan installed very soon. There was research involved so that is why a slight delay, but the PC has been cleaned out and is otherwise doing fine :) I have a chiropractor appointment in the afternoon, so I think the plan is to do it upon returning home. I forget exactly how old the PC is, but most of the parts have been replaced over time so it isn't a bad setup and I am grateful that it works as well as it does. Hiya everyone! Tonight I will begin to show you some of the many gifts we can find at the SL17B Shop and Hop, part of Second Life's 17th Birthday celebration. There are 10 full sims loaded with designers offering discounted items, and most have a free gift for all visitors. Some are in little suitcases, others are signs on walls or other types of gift boxes, just look around each display carefully if you do not see it immediately. With so many sims, I will do what I usually do with their larger events and share them one sim at a time, so tonight's gifts can all be found on the Frosted sim. It is the weekend and things could be crowded, but the good news is that the event is open until the 12th of July so you can certainly wait until things are less hectic there. I went two days ago and it was busy but none of the sims were full to the point of not letting me in, and I visited half of them at that time. After the weekend, I will tackle the other five and have a terrific time unpacking those generous treats! Meanwhile I also have a new-ish release from [Ari-Pari] to show you that is close to my heart, and may be meaningful for many of you too.
My first look of the evening is a gift from #AplBlossom, their Ari No. 9 outfit. It is one of two SL17B gifts at this display, and there are 2 group gifts there if you happen to be in their group :) Ari No. 9 is a one piece with the appearance of two, a tank top and high waisted panties with a skirt attached, and includes both versions shown above (patterned and solid skirts) each sized for Freya, Legacy, and Maitreya mesh bodies.
The other treat I mentioned being at this display is from the Blossom&Seeds brand, called SL17B - Italy Exclusive Pack. It is also a single piece with built in layers of dress, bra top, and belt, and comes in sizes for Freya, Legacy, and Maitreya mesh bodies. There is a HUD provided to let you pick from 5 solid colors for the top and 5 pretty patterns for the blouse-style dress. The top is rather sheer because of being lace.
This gorgeous slip dress is our gift from Faida named Blanche, and she is a delicate satiny halter style with fun floral pattern. The gift includes Legacy, Legacy Perky, and Maitreya sizing. I couldn't resist trying on the gift from Gabrielle Hamelin with it, which is the lovely Adora Fun - Shards Necklace with Resizer. It even comes in an extra tiny size, but I wore the regular one and used the resize script to make it a bit bigger. The choker part itself reminds me of rock candy and its sweet clusters, while the heart pendant looks like hammered metal for a very attractive look.
I noticed I have been favoring shades of blue lately, so I was delighted to unpack this beautiful {le fil casse} Kennedy Dress Ice gift. It includes Freya, Isis, Hourglass, Legacy, and Maitreya sizing, with detached sleeves and lots of gathers for a charming style. I'll bet that necklace from the previous photo would look just as pretty with this neckline.
Over to [Ari-Pari], where they would like to remind us that Love Is Love with this poignant tee. It is ideal for Pride month of course, but just as true any day of the year :) The shirt comes in sizes for eBody Curvy, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh bodies, with a HUD offering 12 background colors. It is just $150L and better yet, with their free group tag is discounted to $135L. I personally am not LGBT+ but I am a proud ally, with friends and family members who are, and will always have my support and love as all LGBT+ folks do ♥. Hooray for the weekend! I am a bit anxious about parts of it, but looking forward to it nonetheless. I will be taking the day off from blogging tomorrow, as the fans did arrive for my poor hardworking PC so they will be replaced by a family member who has much more experience than I ever will at that sort of thing. I do not expect any problems, but it felt logical to just plan the day without any deadlines or pressure and to not rush said family member. The computer has been making noises for several months off and on, but the past few weeks it really increased and made me even more concerned.
