Advent Goodies

 Hiya everyone! This morning I am delighted to bring you several peeks at some of the many generous Advent gifts we can find all across the grid this month, and I'm doing this post at an unusual time for me because I'm trying to give you all as much time as possible before the calendar day changes. These gifts are mostly available only on a single day, although some leave them up a bit longer while others offer them for sale in the following days. For the most part, if you like what you see then you'll want to ensure you arrive at the store before midnight SL time :) It makes me feel a bit like one of Santa's elves to help share info about these wonderful treats, so now I have to go find an elf name generator...Noelle Giftbell came up and has me giggling!

Our first stop is [Glitzz], where their lovely Alice Gown - Xmas Gift is their Advent treat for the 16th. Their group is temporarily free to join, so the timing is right to pop on that group tag and claim this gift and all their remaining days' gifts. This gown fits Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, Petite, Lara X, Petite X, Reborn, and Waifu mesh bodies. It has a deep V neckline and a large solid red bow on the back of the waist, so between those and the full skirt it will definitely earn a second glance :) The landing zone is actually a foyer between two stores, and the other Domina has a free advent calendar as well with no group tag necessary. Their style takes sexy and turns it up to 11!

Next I stopped at DW Design and grabbed their gorgeous day 16 gift for us called Cecilie Dress Purple. We don't need a group tag to click their board, just tickle today's date on the board that Santa seems to be scaling up and down :) You'll receive Kupra, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, Petite, and Reborn body sizes of this stunning shimmery gown. I'm pretty sure the fabric is reacting to ambient light sources in my skybox here, so materials enabled, advanced lighting?

This unique and playfully crafted look is the Rona Outfit by BlackbirdLace gift, which is just for today and just for their free group members. The jacket and jumpsuit set is one piece in sizing for Erika, Kupra, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, Petite, and Reborn bodies, while the chunky heeled boots with fur cuffs fit Erika, Kupra, Legacy, Maitreya, and Reborn feet to match those body sizes. As I'm sure you can tell, there is also a HUD which offers 20 colors each for the top, pants, jacket, jacket belt, and boots, plus 5 fur colors and 5 metals. It's such an intriguing style, and we can really get wild with the HUD to personalize it.

Emerald Couture has an Advent calendar in their newer location for their free group, plus one across the way for Emerald Man so please make sure your guy friends are visiting there too :) These both need the free group tags, and the third one in this shopping area is their ShoeDdiction for the shoe lovers :) The EC Chun 2 Outfit Lilac can be found in box #16, consisting of the beautiful fluttery dress in standard mesh sizes as well as Erika, Freya, Isis, Venus, Gen X Curvy, Khara, Kupra, Legacy, Maitreya, Peach, Prima, Reborn, Hourglass, and Physique body sizing. The coordinated sandals fit Belleza, Erika, Freya, Gen X, Khara, Kupra, Legacy, Maitreya, Peach, Prima, Reborn, and Slink feet to match up with many of the dress sizes. 

For my final look of the evening, you'll need the free Apple Blossom group tag for the rebranded Blossie store's calendar :) Today's sweet treat is their Donna Dress #10 which is under the Apple Blossom name and fits Legacy, Maitreya, and Reborn mesh bodies. The soft blue color reminds me of ice, and the plunging neckline is knotted at the waist to help accentuate our curves and cleavage. Did you notice that the halter neck is tied in the back but one of the strands is draped playfully over our left shoulder? For some reason I just adore that detail :) 

It was a busy night before I started gathering these gifts at 3AM my time, more discussions with my mom about Christmas that resulted in no final decisions yet. Sigh. My therapy was intense, as is probably expected, and it included about a half hour driving around the area. Tomorrow I'll be doing another Advent post in the morning because there are literally dozens more stores I visit everyday and many of them are free groups or no group at all needed. More Advent-ures

 Hiya everyone! Today is another post filled with gifts I found in my explorations of Advent calendars that make December a very special month in SL. The best source I've found of information is the FabFree advent post, and it lets you know if the gifts are free or a small cost, group tag needed or not, and if you need to be a group member they let you know if there is a fee to join it. The goodies I'm sharing this morning are all either for free groups or there is no group needed, so these will not affect your holiday budget in the least :) Of course, visiting these fantastic stores might inspire you to do some shopping when you see their great merchandise, which is something I encourage to thank them for spreading holiday cheer. 

My first look of the day comes from DW Design, whose Advent calendar does not need any particular group tag to click. The gift for the 11th is their lovely Lantern in the Snow Dress, a royal blue pencil dress with a beautiful wintry pattern. It is provided in sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Legacy, Maitreya, Reborn, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine mesh bodies. 

Another Advent calendar you don't want to miss is the 11 .::DS::. Velma Snowflake outfit from Dark Salvation. The bra and panties are linked together and worn as one, in Kupra, Legacy, Maitreya, and Reborn mesh body sizing. I love the slender chain around the waist, and the little heart that dangles from its end :) Their general style here is sexy, so you can expect each day's gifts to be equally alluring.

For a festive pop of color, be sure to join the free group at AMUI and claim their "Kim" Dress & Jacket RED today! The dress, jacket, and jacket overlayer will each fit eBody Reborn, Freya, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, and Petite bodies. I'm wearing the dress alone on the left, and with the overlayer on the right which as you can see is slightly sheer. The jacket itself is solid with the same texturing, both very pretty :) I can't resist a high quality mini dress, but it's even better with an optional jacket!

Applique` Chic has two tree-shaped stacks of gift boxes as their Advent calendars, one for men and the other for ladies. I think you can tell which I'm sharing here, lol, their AC: Vintage Christmas Pink Advent Day 11 gift. The pale mauve pink fabric has an even lighter colored pattern of trees and snowflakes, beautifully contrasted by the white of the collar, cuffs, and hem trim. There are sizes for Hourglass, Kupra, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, Petite, and Reborn mesh bodies included. I'd like to note that most of the prior gifts are available for $10L if you miss any days, but they usually seem to have at least 2 set for $0L at any given time. I've been a fan of theirs for a very long time now, so I'm always pleased to visit :)

My final look of the day is noteworthy because of one of the sizes included, for the new Maitreya Lara X body :) This is only the second piece of clothing I've blogged so far with the new size, so it is very exciting and a good sign that moving forward we will be seeing it more. This is the MadCatCreations treat called MCC - woman - xmas sweater 11, and is from the room labeled "Women" because across the way there is another Advent calendar for the men in their labeled department :) So the sizes of our sweater are Gen X Classic, Gen X Classic Petite, Khara, Kupra, Kups, Legacy, Legacy Petite, Maitreya, Maitreya X, Prima Busty, Prima Petite, Reborn, Reborn Juicy, Reborn Waifu, and Senra Jamie mesh bodies. The sign next to the board says to join the group to claim the gifts, and it was initially free but is now $1L, however I have accidentally claimed the gift without the group tag active (the chaos of visiting dozens of stores while tired LOL) and realized that it will distribute even if you are not in the group. I believe that so far all the gifts have included a Lara X size, so your wardrobe building can begin with a bevy of fun sweaters for the holidays. 

There were at least a dozen other gifts I'd have loved to share but simply don't have the time in one post, so I really do urge you to look at that FabFree listing if you haven't already. My plans are to shift back to evening blogging tomorrow, so no post tonight, and then I'll be taking a day off on Thursday after my overdue dental appointment. It is admittedly a bit of a weird week, but I am trying to balance SL, RL, the holidays, and my continuing anxiety/panic issues. I feel like every time I log in, I find out about something else I'll need to be blogging ;) December as a blogger is utter chaos, but it's better than having nothing at all to do. Sunday Morning Advent

 Hiya everyone! Welcome to a special Sunday morning edition of Midnight Magpie, featuring several wonderful Advent calendar gifts that are available just for today. They either need a free group tag or no particular group tag to claim, so all it costs us is a visit and the time it takes to teleport to loads of generous stores :) Honestly it is my favorite time of the year in SL, even if it is the most hectic, since it really shows off how thoughtful our fellow residents can be. Imagine spending so much time and effort creating merchandise to sell, and then being willing to offer multiple free gifts for most of December ♥. They deserve more gratitude than I can even adequately express. I will be posting again tomorrow morning too, as there are just so many that I'm delighted to share!

Their group tag (currently free to join) is needed to click the correct date on their Advent calendar and claim this duo of fun seasonal outfits. For a gorgeous formal look, I suggest visiting The Sissy Bar where their Advent calendar upstairs (no group needed) holds male and female gifts. Today's ladies' treat is their (TSB) CMH WOW May Exclusive, an elegant gown in soft blue with embroidery and a built in necklace. There are Freya, Isis, Legacy, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique sizes included. I definitely plan on wearing this at other times of the year too, not just Christmas!

I've had a really nice weekend so far, as the visit to the farmers market was a celebration of their tenth anniversary so we were given free cake (baked by one of the regular vendors) and hot apple cider simmered with spices and orange slices, YUM! I was there for their opening day a decade ago, and am just so happy for them to still be successful. I think adapting to health needs the past few years helped (contactless pickups in the parking lot) and keeping a steady flow of new vendors when others' paths lead them in different directions. I miss it being indoors but appreciate that people are allowed to bring their dogs to the outdoor version, no health regulations against that :) The Boston terrier who is there just about every week got lucky when someone dropped a generous sample serving of handmade toffee popcorn, and he did an amusing impression of a roomba, LOL. Such a cutie, and clearly food-motivated as I am sometimes too. My next blog post will be around this time tomorrow with more Advent goodies, because there are still stores I visit daily whose gifts I haven't shared here yet and a few from last week may make another appearance. Sunday Morning Advent

 Hiya everyone! This morning I am bringing you a special post with some delightful Advent gifts from all around the grid. They are time sensitive as most of these calendars only offer each day's gift for free for that one day, although some stores sell the prior gifts for a small amount so those who missed them can still pick them up. Some calendar boards automatically let you claim previous ones for free still, while others are more limited to just that date. I suggest visiting as promptly as you can when you see this, and if it is no longer Sunday in SL you may not get the exact gifts shown here but you can still find excellent treats to brighten your day :) 

My first look is the Applique` Chic gift for the 19th called AC: Snowfall Dress Red2. We do not need any particular group tag to claim these, just find the gift box with 19 on the front in the tree-shaped display of boxes and purchase for $0L. The previous dates are available for $10L each as well. So our lovely long dress has a wrap style that creates a slit on the left leg, and the red sleeve trim matches the neck band that crosses in the front. This gift includes sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Legacy, Maitreya, Ocacin, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, Tonic Fine, and Voluptuous mesh bodies. 

This sexy ensemble is the [>Ma'De<] Sarina Leopard gift for today on their Advent calendar, and you will need their free group tag active to claim it. The top, skirt, and chain are each provided in Hourglass, Legacy, and Maitreya mesh body sizing. I was intrigued by the intricate chain and its medallion resembling a necklace, and don't forget since they are separate pieces you can wear the top and skirt without the chain if you prefer. A little leopard print is sure to stand out among all the red and green or black dresses your fellow clubgoers or party attendees will be wearing ;)

Dark Water Designs and Dark Knight Decor have teamed up for a 12 days of Christmas calendar, and they alternate dates for their gifts. Today is a DWD gift of his and hers fashions, including the Cropped Jacket & Skirt Set I'm enjoying here. The jacket, skirt, and sweater insert are all provided in sizes for classic avatars (5 standard and 5 fitmesh) as well as for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine mesh bodies. There is a lot to see and explore on the Birds of Peace region, and today I'd like to draw your attention to the DW Advent calendar with their Xmas Lingerie Blue gift for today. The top and panties (G-string style) are each included in Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine mesh body sizing. The flurry of snowflakes goes so well with the white furry trim on the top and pompoms on the panties, making for a very grown up nod to Santa's finery.

My final look this morning comes from Fashion Fantasy, who offer a men's board in a neighboring building to the one that holds this ladies board. This playful dress is their *FF* White Hearts Mini Dress Jumper, which comes in sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh bodies. There is no group tag required to claim their gifts, just click the corresponding date on the calendar. I also noticed that prior dates can be clicked (sometimes by accident, *ahem* LOL) and will happily give you their gifts as well. I also wanted to mention that while many Advent gifts have a distinct seasonal flavor to them, this one almost reminds me of Valentine's Day with the soft colors and hearts. I think it will suit any season or time of year that makes you happy. 

It has been a fairly nice weekend so far, and I am glad the weather wasn't overly cold yesterday for the farmers market. I met an adorable dog named Lorenzo, who belongs to the family of a young woman who works there and I chat with each week. I have lots of tasty treats in my fridge, and I just had a nice cup of hot tea (mint, herbal, no caffeine) to try to soothe this cough of mine. I am also taking cough syrup with no noticeable change yet, and really thinking that not going near my grandmother this holiday is the wiser decision even if it is disappointing. I will make a special trip to see her once I am feeling better, a belated Christmas ♥. I will either blog more Advent goodies tomorrow morning, or a less time-limited post on Monday evening, depending on how I feel and what I find. Advent Season

 Hiya everyone! This morning's post features many generous gifts from Advent calendars all across the grid, most of which will only be available today (December 8th) so it is important that you visit these stores quickly. The ones I am sharing either require a free group tag to claim them or do not need a group tag at all, so they are all completely free in the long run. I mentioned in the beginning of the month that there are two websites that have helped me greatly in finding this information, so I share with you both links: FabFree and TeleportHub so you can visit and see which others of the dozens of stores appeal to you :) I am visiting about 2 dozen a day, and cannot possibly squeeze them all into one post of course, but hope to bring you random samples on the days I am able to do a morning post like this one.

This beautiful pair of dresses with matching pumps is from the Advent calendar at DW Design, and all you have to do is visit and click the correct number on the calendar board. No special group tag is needed. If the store name sounds familiar, I actually did blog a hunt item of theirs in my last post so if you visited them for that prize, you would have passed by the calendar to get the prize :) Consider that a bit of a hint in case you hadn't grabbed the hunt prize yet but want to! So this Advent gift is their Christmas Stars Green Dress & Shoes, with a fantastic golden snowflake pattern embossed on it. There are two lengths of dress as you can see, long and short, both of which come in sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Ocacin, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, Tonic Fine, and Voluptuous bodies. They both have a slit on the right side, and the same deep V neckline laced together just right. The heels are provided in Belleza, Maitreya, and Slink High sizing, and really help that gold and green combination to pop.

Next we have a pair of gifts, so I will start with the top which is the Applique` Chic gift for today called AC: Sweater Sayings Tinsel. It has a t-shirt layered beneath the shawl collared jacket, which reads "Don't get your tinsel in a tangle". That is a clever reminder that is handy any holiday season but especially this one! It comes in sizes for Freya, Isis, Legacy, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh bodies. I was fortunate enough to find a great pair of pants among today's Advent gifts, the ~*MF*~ Forever in Jeans - Snow from Mishmash Fusion. These boot cut jeans are provided in standard mesh sizes for classic avatars, plus eBody Classic, eBody Curvy, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine mesh body versions. Good news about both stores - their Advent calendars are free for everyone with no group necessary. Another tidbit about Applique' Chic is that they have a men's Advent calendar just to the left of the women's gifts, so be sure to bring your favorite guy/s :)

I kept the Mishmash Fusion jeans on here, and changed into the gift from [JUSTICE] called Aspen Sweater - Merlot. This embellished treat has a layered appearance too, and the top layer remains in the pretty wine color while the undershirt layer can be changed via HUD. This wonderful HUD has 18 solid colors and 5 patterns for that undershirt, as well as 24 colors each for the leaves by the neckline in groups of 5. My suggestion is to just give the various colors a click to see what changes :) This shirt comes in sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique bodies. You will need the free JUSTICE group tag to claim this, so be sure to create a landmark and visit each day to see what else they will offer.

NUTS Inc has two Advent calendars, one for men and one for women, and neither require a group tag to claim each day's gift. I brought Xan there so he could click the men's one, and he saw the photo on the ladies' board of today's gift called Xara Dress and eagerly suggested that I should blog it :) Why, you may wonder? He is very fond of dragons, as I am, so I think he will enjoy seeing this. The NUTS Inc delivery HUDs have a handy feature where you only have to unpack the brand of mesh body size that applies to you, so I clicked the Maitreya logo and received a folder with just the Maitreya Lara size and the 4-color HUD. Our other brands/sizes are Belleza (Freya, Isis, Venus), eBody (Curvy), and Slink (Hourglass and Physique). All 4 color choices still have a beautifully detailed serpent dragon image on the front, complete with color coordinated flames. 

My final look of the day is today's Advent calendar gift from TrendZy Apparel, called TA Dottie's Little Retro Dress. Between the floaty skirt, crisp white polka dots, and sweetheart neckline, I am in classic styling heaven! The gift includes sizes for eBody, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Ocacin, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine bodies. There is also a HUD tucked in there, with 10 colors to choose from. No group tag is necessary to claim this, and I would also like to mention that when you walk out the front door and turn left, go down 2 doors to Sands Design and you will find another Advent calendar that also is available for all with no group tag needed. 

It has been a long morning already, since I am usually away from my computer by now but instead have been here for over 14 hours with maybe one half an hour break. It's a good thing I enjoy what I do so much :) I might do another morning post tomorrow, but if not I should be back the following evening instead. Joyeux Noel Hunt

 Hiya everyone! Tonight I am delighted to help you explore the Joyeux Noel Hunt, a gridwide adventure that has us looking for small red gift boxes between $0L - $2L apiece. The hunt's website has all of our landmarks as well as hints and preview images, to guide us along the hunt path and help us track down all of the gifts. Maybe Santa got lost while doing some shopping and dropped our presents in all of these stores? I can't blame him for wanting to visit these wonderful shops, and I think you will enjoy your time at each too. 

My first look of the evening is one of two gifts found at ~MystRie~, both of which are free! This is their Vintage Winter Female gift, which starts with the coat dress in fitmesh standard sizes plus Belleza, Maitreya, and Slink versions. The gift also includes the fur handwarmer with built in pose, and the adjustable hat in a matching snowy fur texture. On the right you can see what the dress looks like on its own, as the handwarmer was hiding the pretty belt that is a part of the dress. There is a male gift too, and it is pictured on the website with hints for both.

Next we have the chic prize from Simple Terms, their ST - Christmas Vixen Coat Outfit. It is designed for the Maitreya body, and consists of the coat, boots, and leggings. Since they are individual pieces, you can wear all of them together or mix and match to suit your tastes. Red is a fun choice for the holidays, and always looks so elegant with black. This prize is a very affordable $2L. 

Ho ho ho! The $2L prize from Good Vibes is their Festive Red Christmas Wishes outfit. Its strapless dress comes in Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique sizing, and the ankle boots are unrigged so you can adjust them. I hid my feet with the HUD from my Maitreya body, just to make things quicker :) This look certainly lives up to the festive description in its title!

Put some sparkle into your holiday season with the prize from DW Design, called Let it Snow Trench Coat with Heels. Find the free red gift box and you will receive the hooded coat in eBody Curvy, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Ocacin, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine sizing. You will also find the matching shoes inside, sized for Belleza, Maitreya, and Slink High feet, as well as a snow particle emitter that you just "add" and let it surround you with delicate flakes. You can simply leave it off if you prefer, although I think it added something to this photo :)

My final look of the evening is from [Ari-Pari] at their store's new location, and it is called Snowflake Knit Dress. It has been created specifically for this hunt, and costs only $1L when you find the red box. The formfitting sweater dress comes in sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Legacy, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh bodies, and there is a HUD provided with 8 pattern colors and 8 matching colors for the trim. The classic snowflake pattern looks terrific here, and I am a big fan of those color HUDs for added variety.

My day was quiet, and I am feeling a little bit better...my stomach has been calmer, but I still have a sore throat that might be from allergies. I am trying to rearrange RL things to make time for a post of Advent gifts, just to give everyone an idea of what is out there, and it looks like tomorrow night's post will wind up being about 8 hours later in the morning to allow the SL clock to reach midnight then give me time to pop around the grid and claim gifts, unpack them, take photos, prep them, and write the blog post. It throws me off kilter, as you can tell LOL, but it's worth the effort because I really do enjoy sharing the Advent opportunities. Tonight I am excited to show you more generous Stay at Home Club gifts, as I truly appreciate these reassurances that the SL community is supporting those of us who are doing our best to stay safe in these troubled times. So many designers deserve huge thanks for their contributions, and I enjoy being able to share their hard work with all of you. As a neutral color, it looks great with their gift called DFF Daisy Skirt 3 #6, a micro mini with attached belt in a fun patterned material. The equally dazzling dress on the right is their Dina Dress Sage gift, in sizes for eBody Curvy, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique. The color and slight sheen made me think of a mermaid, well I guess the style contributes to that notion as well :) I am very glad I visited this store, as you can see.

Pig Hunt Part Three

Hiya everyone! Tonight is my part three of the Pig Hunt at Birds of Peace, so by now you probably have seen my explanation of the hunt :) I will do a quick summary just in case by saying it is a free hunt and we are exploring the entire adult sim for 20 large pigs to click and receive free women's clothing gifts. I suggest using the teleport pads to ensure you visit all the possible locations where the piggies might be hanging out.

My first look this evening is a playful dress called DW - Deep Cut Mini Blue. It has tiny polka dots and a shiny texture (materials enabled I believe) that really complement the unique look of the straps in back. The prize includes sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and TMP. 

If you are looking for something more formal but a bit edgy, be sure to find pig #14 to claim the DW - Harness Formal Gown. It comes in sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and TMP mesh bodies. The texturing is wonderful, with the sequins on the top and the embossed lace at the hem.

Summer has so many visually appealing aspects, and one thing I think of is the ocean so this DW - Tied under bust mini dress from pig #17 immediately put me in mind of our warmest season. It comes in Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and TMP sizing, with a fun nautical fabric.

I admit that part of my slowness tonight is from watching Game of Thrones, and don't worry I have no spoilery comments but OMG the emotions!! I have randomly teared up a few times just thinking about it, a couple hours after it ended. I will say that the visuals were so dark on my TV that some scenes were really tough to see anything, so I might rewatch it with the lights off.
