The Fifty Anniversary

 Hiya everyone! Tonight I was excited to see that The Fifty is celebrating their third anniversary :) You may also know this event for the weekly sales Fifty Linden Fridays, and they have a lovely new event space for us to visit. Their Fifty Linden Fridays group is just $1L to join, and with that tag you can claim dozens of terrific gifts by clicking the boxes at most of the displays. I had a lot of fun checking out the discounted offers and picking up some demos, and of course the generous gifts to help us commemorate three years of The Fifty. 

For my first look, I combined two different gifts that I think are a cute pairing. The Palette - Crys Top [Black] is a very pretty cropped blouse with square neckline and puffed sleeves that end in pert ruffles. It comes in sizes for Lara X, Legacy, Perky, Reborn, Juicy Rolls, and Waifu mesh bodies. My shorts here are the [RED GIRL] Jayden Shorts Stripes gift, with versions 1 and 2 (left and right, respectively) each designed for Lara X, Legacy, and Reborn bodies. The thinnest stripes are the main difference, a reddish hue on v1 but a yellowish shade for v2. They are a flattering snug fit that caught my eye immediately.

The [RED GIRL] shorts came in handy again to share the -Pixicat- Astrid Cardigan gift. We receive the cardigan and singlet (cropped wisp of a top layered beneath) each in sizing for Legacy, Perky, Lara X, Petite X, Reborn, and Waifu, as well as a HUD with 23 colors for the singlet. The cardigan is open and has a fun hood, so I almost wanted to call it a hoodie :) It looks so cozy and warm!

This beauty is our RIOT / Katherine Dress & Blouse - Gift. The dress is what you're seeing here actually, with the included blouse being a shorter version that comes just to the natural waist and can be paired with your favorite bottoms. Each of these is provided in Legacy, Maitreya, Lara X, Reborn, and Waifu mesh body sizing. The deep hunter green color is adorned with intriguing artwork that has a mystical flavor to it, very lovely indeed.

Next I shimmied into the KILLJOY Wallflower Dress and its provided BOM alpha layer to help cinch in the waist for a stunning look. This bare shouldered beauty comes in Lara X, Flat, Petite X, Legacy, V-Tech, Reborn, Waifu, and Reborn V-Tech mesh body sizing. I really enjoy the tiny polka dot pattern too, a fun little touch for sure.

My final look this evening is our cheezu. choa set : black gift, a sweet pairing of halter top and miniskirt. There are Legacy, Perky, Lara X, Petite X, and Reborn mesh body sizes for each piece, helping it fit many popular bodies. The top has a very pretty bow at the cleavage, and the skirt is slit on each thigh for an extra flash of skin.

Still Getting Cozy

 Hiya everyone! Tonight I have one more group of CozyFest '22 gifts to share, all of which can be claimed for free with the Fifty Linden Fridays group tag. The FLF group is free to join, and the event is loaded with $50L offers as well as gifts in tan giftboxes decorated with purple ribbons and bows. I absolutely enjoyed my visit, and plan on going back for some shopping before the 4th of February when the event comes to an end. There will still be plenty of Fridays to find bargains though of course :) 

My first look features the Little Fox gift called Madison crop sweater // babyblue. It comes in sizes for eBody Reborn, Kupra, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, and Petite mesh bodies, with a HUD that offers 25 colors for our buttons. The deep neckline would frame your favorite necklace beautifully, and between the cleavage and the bared midriff this is a cozy way to keep your arms warm while flashing some skin.

Our gift from Nylon Outfitters is their (NO) Thriving T shirt, a clever tee with a sketch of a woman hanging out in foliage with the caption "Unbothered, moisturized, happy, in my lane, focused, flourishing". That sure does sound like thriving to me! Right now I can only claim one of those, so I will just call those #goals ;) This gift consists of Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and TMP mesh body sizing. 

A great accompaniment to a warm sweater is a hot beverage :) This top is the Midoa - Coven MerryBlack Sweater, a fun gift in sizes for eBody, Freya, Kupra, Legacy, and Maitreya bodies. It has a wintry skull design on the front, with what looks like sparkly paint splatters all about. The #LuluB! - Kitty Mug <3 is an adorable pink mug, round with a sweet face and filled to the brim with cappuccino decorated with some ♥ foam art. The hold pose is built in, just right click and 'add' to your outfit for a comforting drink. As I did yesterday, I paired all of tonight's tops with the white Delizio jeans you can find in their free Marketplace fatpack. 

Next I changed into the Fake Society x Miranda Dress / Pink, a dreamy strapless dress in Freya, Hourglass, Kupra, Legacy, Maitreya, and Reborn mesh body sizes. There is also a button hide HUD included so you can decide if you want those buttons on or off :) I really like the fur trim, which lends itself to the cozy theme quite well. 

For my final look of the evening I turned off the buttons of my dress and decided to play with some precious pups. They are the RIOT gift called Brody Sock Plush, and there is a notecard to explain that Brody is often their store's employee of the month. I had actually been to their store very recently and did notice his RL photos, along with another furry employee (most reported to HR if I recall) so I do suggest stopping by to see the wall of photos. Brody here comes in several dog colors (Black, Brody, Chocolate, Yellow) each with various colors of sock (black, blue, gold, pink, red, tan, white) on his head. On the left above is Brody/White, with Yellow/Blue on the right, so I would say these are common labrador colors and plenty of cozy fun. They all have a hold pose built in, to help us snuggle any variety of Brody we wish. 

It was a blah day here, thanks to yet another frustrating hockey game and a disappointing situation with family. My cousin asked for a favor that my housemate insists we cannot safely do, watching their birds (2 budgies and a cockatiel, none of whom I've ever seen in person) for a week in April. I feel terrible like I'm letting my cousin and his wife down, and it seems like he asked my parents first but they couldn't because of their two birds. He knows I love birds dearly and it would be so nice to have something to look forward to, but if the house is not bird-safe it wouldn't be wise. I really miss feathered companionship, as you can tell, and really dislike having to say no to family members when they need me. Shop and Hop at Poppy

 Hiya everyone! Tonight I am very happy to share some Halloween Shop and Hop gifts found on the Poppy region, one of 14 beautifully decorated regions (sims) bursting with talented designers offering seasonal sales items and thoughtful free gifts. There are gifts for male and female avatars, along with plenty of home decor so you can liven up your living space as easily as your wardrobe. I know I was lacking in the Halloween decoration department, and I prefer mystical to horror style, but saw a nice selection of both among gifts and sales selections. 

My first look is the -Pixicat- Brook Dress (Gift) in dark plummy purple with a flock of bats. The dress comes in sizes for Freya, Hourglass, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, Flat, and Petite mesh bodies, with a HUD for the belt that offers 2 metals (gold and silver) plus the option to show or hide it. The high waist and short hem make me think that this would work as a tunic top if you layered some leggings beneath for cooler weather, since variety is fun :)

One really fun thing about Halloween is the costumes, which in SL can also usually double as exciting roleplay fashions. A great example is the Blackstone gift called Melissa Air-hostess - Fatpack seen here. The bodysuit with collar/tie and cuffs is provided in Kupra, Legacy, and Maitreya body sizing, with an adjustable cap. There is also a HUD so you can choose from 15 colors for the outfit and 4 metals. That is an impressive amount of variety to help you fly the friendly skies.

Our gift from Envious is called Unknown, so my guess is that it is hiding its identity with the camouflage pattern. The dress and separate sleeves are each included in sizes for Freya, Legacy, Maitreya, and Petite mesh bodies, both gathered and tied with loose bows. As you can see on the right, the strapless bodycon dress looks just as fantastic without the sleeves as with, so it is up to you every time you wear it which look suits your mood.

There are two generous gifts at the RIOT display, both of which contain sizes for male and female avatars, so be sure to pass the word along to the guys too. You can see the Strapped Shirts - Deathmask Moth on the left, with the Strapped Shirts - Lunar Moth gift on the right. Each contain Freya, Kupra, Legacy, and Maitreya sizes for the ladies along with a few men's sizes, each with a HUD that lets you choose from 35 colors for the straps and 14 metal tones as well as the ability to turn them on and off. I really like the tint of each pattern to reflect their moths, and the crescent moons and stars built into the design. 

My final look this evening is the Tachinni - Aurora Dress-Halloween S&H gift, in two versions called solid and slogan which are with (right) or without the bat on the back that says Trick or Treat across its wings. Both versions come in sizes for Freya, Isis, Hourglass, Legacy, Perky, and Maitreya bodies, with a HUD with 3 metal colors and 25 choices for the built in panties as well as an on/off option for those panties. I appreciate the soft red of the leather and how it looks very touchable.

New Week, New Looks

Hiya everyone! Tonight we visit FaMESHed again, as there are just so many wonderful group gifts there for their 8th anniversary that I found even more that you need to see. All of these designers offer original mesh creations at the FaMESHed event, and for the anniversary they have also chosen something special as a group gift to help us celebrate the occasion. In addition to the fashion and accessories you will see tonight, there are plenty of home decor options as well, so you can freshen up your living space as well as your wardrobe. There are just over 2 weeks left to visit, as this round lasts until the 27th of May, so you have time to mull over your purchases and grab some demos while you claim these gifts. I also have a Saturday Sale offer to show you from Entice, as their discounts last for a few days past Saturday. More details below of course!

This striking dress is our generous gift from Scandalize, their Joanna Fatpack. It includes the dress and belt each in sizes for Freya, Isis, Hourglass, Legacy, and Maitreya mesh bodies, and there is a trio of HUDs to customize the look completely. The first HUD offers 42 solid colors and 22 striped choices each for part 1 (top edging), part 2 (hemline edging) and the main dress. There is also a pattern HUD with 22 fun textures like the one on the right above for each of the same sections. The belt HUD lets you pick from 42 colors for the belt and strap (ties in the front center) to match or contrast against the dress beautifully. As for my jewelry, well my love of birds is even reflected in the "magpie" part of my blog's name, so it is probably no surprise that I was immediately drawn to the Cynful gift called Flamingo Jewellry Set. The necklace comes in fitted versions for Freya, Legacy, Hourglass, and Maitreya bodies, and the matching earrings are included too. There is even a HUD for each with 8 metals and 15 plastic colors, so you can tint the necklace and earrings separately to get the look you desire. 

Kaithleen's is treating us with their Spotlight Body - Plum, a long sleeved bodysuit with sweetheart neckline and laced up back, in solid and striped versions in the same beautiful color. It comes in eBody Curvy, Freya, Isis, Hourglass, Legacy, and Maitreya mesh body sizing, with a HUD so you can choose from 4 metals for the rivets and 20 colors plus 4 metallics for the ties in the back. I think this would look great with a loose skirt layered over it, then you can slip out of the skirt for more intimate situations :) The necklace I am wearing is a FaMESHed group gift too, this time from EQUAL called Duality Necklace. The name suits it so well, as it is comprised of a gold chain on one half, strand of pearls on the other, creating a beautiful new look. There is a simple ball shaped pendant in the front, crafted in gold while being shaped like the pretty pearls.

I think the large number of teal colored gifts is to match or honor the FaMESHed logo, even if not specified by any of the designers, but it is a fun detail I've noticed :) This beauty is the Seniha. Mandy Dress in Teal, provided in a solid colored fabric plus version 2 which is sprinkled with dainty polka dots. They each include Freya, Isis, Legacy, Legacy Perky, and Maitreya sizing, and are so charming with their detached ruffled sleeves and peekaboo belly opening beneath flowing ties. 

Two more teal treats to share! The top on the left is the .Safira. Lovely Top Fameshed Gift, with sweet ruffles that form heart shapes in just the right places. The gift includes sizes for Freya, Isis, Hourglass, Legacy, and Maitreya bodies. On the right I am enjoying the ladies' half of the RIOT gift, Emmett & Emily Hoodies. Emily comes in Freya, Isis, Hourglass, Legacy, and Maitreya sizing, while Emmett is created for Gianni, Jake, and Legacy male bodies. Each include the original style seen above, plus a mesh that is sheer fishnet type material other than the kangaroo pocket in the front. I would have needed to layer something beneath that, or my "modesty flowers" would have been employed in Photoshop again ;) It was easier to just show you the solid style and let you use your imaginations on the see-through one.

So our weekend is coming to a close, but we can still celebrate it for a few more days with the Saturday Sale offerings from Entice :) They are offering their intriguing Envy by Entice - Celebration Dress - Lilac at a Saturday Sale discount of just $75L, until the 14th so that will be Thursday. It comes in Freya, Hourglass, and Maitreya sizes, and I love the juxtaposition of the fully covered tight top with high neck and long sleeves against the very short flared skirt. The playful polka dots are mostly grey like the top, but there are a few purple ones scattered in there for variety. Now in addition to the lilac creation, the other 8 versions are on sale right next to it, for $99L apiece (marked down from $200L) or you can choose the full fatpack with 2 bonus colors plus HUD to change parts individually for $250L instead of the full price of $599L. I do love a bargain, and truly enjoy telling you all about them, so I hope your plans for the next few days can include a visit to Entice for this sale.

It was an odd Mother's Day here, since we usually visit my grandmother in person but instead did the Facetime thing like we did for Easter, and my parents were wearing masks (to keep her safe) and it felt jarring, like a wrong note in a familiar song. Despite that, don't get me wrong, I am grateful to have been able to talk to her and "see" her in a safe way, and I'm relieved that they are protecting her from any possible contamination. The company who employs her caregiver provided masks and gloves, and has advised all their caregivers how to keep their patients (clients?) safe, again good signs. I am in a weird position of wanting to keep things light and positive on my blog, yet also feeling like it is important to normalize talking about this stuff so it feels comfortable. SL provides a haven, an escape from harsh realities, but it feels right to mention the positive things we can all do to get through this reality too. Gleaming at Shop and Hop

Hiya everyone! Tonight we visit the Gleaming sim, one of the 6 that are part of the Winter Shop and Hop event. There are a total of 120 designers taking part, all with discounted offers to treat yourself or give to a friend. Most of them are also offering gifts, primarily inside blue gift boxes with white lids that can be clicked to give a free goodie. They include clothing, accessories, and home decor among the many possibilities, and are a great way for these designers to wish us all happy holidays.

My first look features two gifts, starting with the Glitters Top from EVIE. It comes in sizes for Freya, Isis, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Legacy bodies, with a HUD that lets you tint the glitter to any color you wish. In the inset you can see a closer view of the fine glitter with a glimpse of the zipper in the back of the shirt. As for the pants, they are the Priya and Pierce Leggings - Reindeer Gift from RIOT. There are mens sizes included along with Freya, Isis, Hourglass, Legacy, and Maitreya sizing for the ladies, all with that fun seasonal print. Funny story, Xan and I went to a store last night to look at cute animals (Jian) and there was another shopper wearing the same outfit, both the top and pants :) It made me chuckle as I was not expecting it, and when I pointed it out Xan said they must have read my blog. I replied no, I hadn't blogged it yet, so we decided that she must just have good taste.

I kept the RIOT leggings gift on for this look, but changed into the gift from PinkRayne called Hanne Jumper - Winter Shop & Hop Exclusive Gift. This laced up sweater is provided in sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh bodies, in a deep mossy green shade. 

L&B Swear (of Lapointe & Bastchild) are offering two gifts for the ladies to enjoy, a pair of mini dresses whose colors can be seasonal but certainly aren't limited to December. On the left is the Zoe Dress in Green, while on the right it looks just as pretty in Red. Each includes Freya, Isis, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique sizing for those popular mesh bodies. Be sure to click both boxes to receive each color.

Next we see the gift that Seniha is offering at Shop and Hop, their Noah Dress which has a bare midriff, tartan skirt, and bold bow on the back of the waist. It is provided in sizes for Freya, Isis, Maitreya, and Hourglass bodies. This style and color combination are timeless and not specifically for the festive season.

My final look of the evening is a closer view of the nail polish I've been enjoying in all of these photos, the gift from {ZOZ} called Early Snow Gift Polish. There are HUDs included for Maitreya, Omega, Slink, and the store's own ZOZ Bento nails, each with a beautiful array of 12 colors to choose from. The color palette is accented with splashes of snow and a single very clear snowflake that really brings out the frosty goodness. I need someone to do this manicure for me in RL for next Tuesday ;) We do have a long winter ahead of us, so these can be a part of your wardrobe for some time to come.

More FaMESHed Gifts

Hiya everyone! Tonight I have more treats to share from the FaMESHed event and its December round. There are many gifts for the free FaMESHed group, just have your tag active and click the wrapped presents you see at the vendor displays. The event is open until the 27th of the month, so just after Christmas, giving you time to visit and enjoy while doing a little holiday shopping. Don't forget to treat yourself, you deserve it!

First we have a generous gift from RIOT which includes sweaters for the ladies and the gents :) This is their Jane Sweater Gift, whose red and green versions are each provided in Freya, Isis, Legacy, and Maitreya sizing. The left shoulder is cut out to show a strap emblazoned with the store's name, so you will always remember who to thank for this cozy gift.

Another group gift that looks great with my Delizio jeans (marketplace, several colors, system layers plus Omega/Maitreya appliers) is the !APHORISM! Deanna Top - Lilac Ltd Ed. This flirty style has a sweetheart neckline leading up to a small collar in the back, and a lush layer of beaded fringe. There is also a HUD that lets you hide the beads or fringe (hiding the fringe also hides the beads automatically) with 4 colors each for beads 1, beads 2, and the fringe. This will make a lot more sense when you have the shirt and the HUD on ;) The gift includes sizes for Freya, Isis, Hourglass, and Maitreya mesh bodies.

There are two gifts featured in this photo, starting with the Giz Seorn cropped sweater gift. It has a very pretty mix of colors, and is provided in Freya, Hourglass, and Maitreya mesh body sizes. It looks really cute with the gift from Bombshell called Adriana Shorts Red. They include sizes for Freya, Legacy, and Maitreya, with a HUD for the zippers in front to choose from silver or gold. The gold makes them look more Christmassy in my humble opinion, although I usually lean towards silvery tones for jewelry so both choices are winners.

Neve is offering a terrific gift too, this comfy sweater with striped sleeves and plaid skirt that buttons down the left side. For my final look of the night, I am wrapping things up with the sexy group gift from Belle Epoque called Scarlett. The bra and panties are provided in a Maitreya size, in green trimmed with red and decorated with tiny bows. I also chose the Laurel Collection from Cae to accessorize with. That includes the earrings, necklace, and barrettes I am wearing, which have built in resize scripts on touch and a HUD with 6 metals to choose from for each separately. The seasonal wreaths are lovely, and with just enough color to coordinate beautifully with your favorite festive outfits. I must admit to being very distracted tonight after some bad news about a very talented member of my favorite hockey team. He was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare form of cancer, and will be missing the rest of the season to receive treatment. He is just 23 years old, and it is heartbreaking for his fans to know that he is facing such a huge challenge. Honestly I do think he will beat it and be able to play again someday, based on being young and healthy, and having top notch cancer treatments available in the area. They keep posting pictures of him in the purple practice jersey he wore for Hockey Fights Cancer night recently, and it's making me teary every time I see it. We have games tomorrow and Sunday, and I'm just not emotionally prepared. 

My plans for this weekend are to post Sunday morning rather than Saturday night, so I can share some more wonderful Advent calendar gifts with everyone, and since my Saturdays are always busy it will be nice to have the evening off :) Then I think I will be returning to evenings for Monday, but I will decide before my next post so I can have a definite answer then. More Uber Gifts

Hiya everyone! Tonight I have more gifts from Uber and their 5th anniversary round to show you. There are so many gifts from almost all the participating designers, and you can cam over to the main sim from their two cam shopping sims (Harajuku and Daze Retreat) if the main sim is still full. I claimed all of these gifts from one of those alternate sims, so I am proof it can be done :) This is a very popular event each month, so I am pleased but not surprised that it lasted 5 years and expect it to continue for many more. All of tonight's clothing selections are tops, so I paired them all with my favorite Delizio jeans that are a marketplace gift in several colors, system layers plus appliers for Maitreya and Omega.

My first look holds a few different gifts, since with so many choices they do combine well :) The top on the left is from [[ Masoom ]] called Flora Top Coral, with adorable ruffles in the front and in sizes for Freya, Hourglass, and Maitreya. On the right I am enjoying the RIOT gift called Isla Crop Tee, which has a gathered knot and fun print. It comes in sizes for Freya, Isis, Maitreya, and Legendary. If you have been eyeing up my charming choker, that is our gift from RAMA called College Bae Bow Choker 'FATPACK'. The choker has a built in resize script when you click it, and there is a HUD included with 20 rope colors and 8 metals. 

If you enjoy the drama of a black and white pattern like I do, be sure to claim this Lele Top Dogtooth from Emery. It is provided in sizes for Freya, Isis, Maitreya, and Physique, and has a unique style. Instead of a necklace, I chose to accessorize this with the gift from *Vanilla Bae* called Babe Bellychain. This treat has the word Babe on the back, and comes in Freya, Hourglass, Maitreya, and Legacy sizes with a HUD offering 7 metal options. 

Uniwaii is offering double the gifts, with two versions of their *UW - Tuen top. On the left is the BlackJean version, RedJean is to the right, and each come in a single Maitreya size. There is a HUD provided with each that lets you choose from 6 colors for the undershirt layered beneath, so there is versatility too. I love the bold belt that is built into each, and the cuffed sleeves for extra pizzazz. 

Another top that offers considerable versatility is this lovely Neve - Flick Top - All Colors. It starts with the tube top in Freya, Isis, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique sizes, and continues with a fantastic HUD that offers 16 texture choices (12 solid, 4 print) as well as the option for lace as the ruffle at the bottom. Yes is how it appears on the left, clicking no gives us a solid and slightly longer ruffle as you can see on the right. Both options have the gathered middle in the front with lacing to hold it together.

One final look of the evening, this is another generous gift with a handy HUD to turn a single shirt into a fabulous fatpack :) It's our gift from Baiastice called Lily Mini Top - All Colors, and includes sizes for Freya, Isis, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and Legacy. The HUD has 15 choices - 5 solid, 5 patterns, and 5 lace. The patterns are pretty florals, and the lace is revealingly sheer which is why you are seeing it from the back/side rather than head-on ;) I am enjoying the flirty style, which looks great no matter what you choose from that texture HUD.

It has been a long evening already, and I am 'enjoying' the pungent scent of a skunk somehow drifting through my closed windows. Sometimes it gets strong enough to make my eyes water, I'm guessing when more than one little stinker is involved. How can such a beautiful creature make such a terrible smell? Whew! Tomorrow I have an appointment and farmers market to go to so it will be pretty hectic, and then the next few days are my normal type of busy.
