Around The Grid in 80 Days

 Hiya everyone! Tonight I explored the Around The Grid in 80 Days 10 Hunt, and yes that means this is the tenth annual round of this wonderful tradition. There are prizes hidden inside a stack of suitcases for $1L apiece at participating stores, with the option to buy each prize for $25L at the hunt object at the sign if you prefer. Sometimes we just don't have the time or inclination to hunt, and sometimes a particular prize might be something we really want but cannot seem to locate so purchasing can save time. I did manage to find all of these as the $1L hunt objects though, by following the hints on the hunt website where you can also find all landmarks and preview images of most of the prizes. The 80 days of the hunt started in mid-July and continue until September 30th, so you have plenty of time to unpack (find) your suitcases and enjoy these prizes!

My first stop this evening was Grumble, where I found their Flirt Skirt/Top for just one linden. The top has those gold hearts built in as pasties, and the skirt's hem is flipped up on one side very flirtatiously :) Each piece is provided in Freya, Isis, Venus, Kupra, Legacy, Maitreya, and Slink Hourglass mesh body sizing. Did you notice the unicorn donuts on the skirt print?

AdelleArts is offering their simply named ATG 2022 Hunt Prize, a full stylish outfit. The black leather wrap dress fits Belleza Isis, Maitreya, Physique, and Tonic Fine mesh bodies, while the matching ankle boots are provided in Belleza, Maitreya, Slink, and Tonic mid sizing. There is an Omega applier for sheer black tights that did not work for me due to a temporary SL glitch, and also provided but not shown is a black bob hairstyle. 

I also picked up the prize at Georg Bellic Design, whose single $1L gift includes both male and female clothing offerings. For the ladies we have ~GBD~ ATG 10 Gift Miami in two versions, each in Freya, Isis, Legacy, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and Reborn mesh body sizes. They have some color variations as well as transparency differences between the two, so you can try them both on and decide which works for any specific event or destination :) The matching men's shirt also has 2 versions and there are classic, Gianni, Jake, Legacy, and Slink sizes provided in each. They are all delightful for the summer or warm climate areas if you are traveling around the grid ;)

Continuing with a summery theme, I next slipped into the ::REA:: Leia Swim hunt prize. The suit itself comes in Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique sizes, with the sarong includes in 6 standard mesh sizes (XXS, XS, S, M, M2, L). There is also a HUD with 6 textures for the swimsuit, 6 for the sarong, and 3 metallic hues for the ring that holds the sarong together. We can mix and match our colors, or wear the swimsuit without the sarong for variety too. 

For my final look this evening I visited The Sissy Bar in their new mainstore location, where I am glad to have found their (TSB) Around The Grid Hunt tank set. The tank top and shorts are linked into one piece, in sizes for Freya, Legacy, Maitreya, Petite, Hourglass, and Physique mesh bodies. The image on the top looks like a sailing ship tattoo, and there are license plates from all sorts of places appearing in the pattern of our shorts. Love it! 

The weather is still steamy here, and there were thunderstorms this evening that seem to have moved along now (whew!). I've been exploring all sorts of things in SL to try to decide what to blog this week, and I am excited about a few possibilities :) There is just about always something new happening there, or we can rediscover a classic favorite to see what they have been up to lately. Exploring More Around The Grid

 Hiya everyone! Tonight I am back with some more Around The Grid in 80 Days Hunt 9 prizes, all of which are either $1L if you find the hidden one or $25L if you prefer to purchase it from near the hunt sign in each store. We are looking for orange starfish as the hunt object, which can be disguised in some very clever ways :) I am always impressed by the quality of hunt prizes that would normally cost much more than what we are paying for them, and relish the opportunity to look around both familiar stores and ones that are new to me while I'm on the hunt path. This path lasts until the end of September, so you have plenty of time to enjoy!

My first look this evening is the .:S&B:. Salsa Micro Mini Dress Risk, which has a flirtatious secret. It comes in standard sizes along with Freya, Isis, Venus, Kupra, Legacy, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and TMP mesh body versions. The risky secret is that the zipper in the front is mirrored by the one in the rear, which reveals a brief wedge of bum cheek. The dress has sheer lace accents with hearts embroidered on it, which is an extra detail I can definitely get behind ;)

Many of us include beach scenery or somewhere with a pool in our travel itinerary, so it is very handy to have a sweet swimsuit prize like the one from Starlight Apparel. This is their .{SA}. Marva Queen Bikini, a two piece whose top and thong bottom are each included in sizes for eBody Classic, eBody Curvy, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine mesh bodies. The fabric has a few different colors and styles of crowns on a soft pink background, just right for any queen.

Another great warm weather option is the Read Me Swim W prize from ::REA:: which is one of two prizes hiding there. The other is a pair of coordinated male swim trunks, so be sure to follow the correct hint to find the one that matches your avatar :) This one piece swimsuit has playful straps that would leave some interesting tan lines in RL, LOL, and is provided in two standard sizes (S, L) for classic avatars plus eBody, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh body versions. There is also a HUD with 6 fun textures that match the "read me" concept quite well.

Boho Soul is a relatively new store in SL, and I am very excited to meet them with this (BSB) Leafy - All Colors prize. There is a men's gift inside the same starfish, so be sure to help your male friends find this one as well :) The dress has a flirty opening at the waist in the front, and a tulip style skirt that I adore. It comes in Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine sizing, with a 6 color HUD so you can change the look if you wish. They are all soft pastel shades, so I found it tricky to choose a favorite!

For my final look this evening, I found the starfish at Park Place Casuals and claimed their Jody Travel Outfit. This charming set includes the tank top and leggings/shirt each sized for eBody, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Ocacin, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine mesh bodies. The keds (sneakers) fit Belleza, Legacy, Maitreya, Ocacin, Slink, and Tonic flat feet. There is also a set of standard sizes packed separately inside, so be sure to unpack that to wear with classic avatars. 

Hair note of the night: I am wearing the newest release from Truth Hair, called Trinket, which I picked up in the Essentials pack for a wide range of colors. Its bangs (fringe) are a separate piece so you can leave them off if you wish, and the stylist tab on any color HUD offers the ability to wear each side behind or in front of your shoulder. As much as I love curls and waves, this sleek style really caught my attention! Also noteworthy is that there is a brief sale going on at the Truth mainstore, so you can save 50% on everything except giftcards if you visit before the 7th. 

It is such a weirdly busy week for me, and now I have an appointment tomorrow to have blood drawn so I will be fasting for 12 hours starting pretty soon. Always fun, LOL, isn't it? I am morbidly curious to see how many tubes of blood it will take to do 3 pages worth of tests. In SL news, I am curious to see how the announcement about Linden Labs doing away with gachas will be affecting things since I do regularly visit events that are based solely on gachas. Most stores I visit have at least a few it seems, but if they are not legal in many countries then unfortunately I can see the need to eliminate them. We have until the end of the month to take advantage of the ones that currently exist, but reselling the prizes will still be allowed after that. I am trying to look at it as part of life (second or first) that things change and evolve over time, and I've dealt with stores and events (like my beloved Wash Cart Sale) closing, so I will adjust to this too. Hunting Around The Grid

 Hiya everyone! Tonight we are traveling Around The Grid in 80 Days with the hunt by that name and its 9th annual round. The prizes are hidden inside orange starfishes for $1L apiece, or you can purchase from the starfish at the hunt sign in each store for $25L if you prefer not to hunt. The website has landmarks, hints, and many preview images so you can see sneak peeks of what you can find, and that could help you decide if you want to purchase the prizes :) They are all worth much more than $25L, let alone the single linden dollar if you are adventurous and search around for the hidden one. The hunt started mid-July and runs until the end of September, for the full 80 day experience.

My first look comes from Grumble and is called Summer Heat Dress. This sleeveless mini really lives up to the name, with its vibrant patterns and right hip with the gathered and tied detail. The prize includes sizes for Altamura, eBody Curvy, Freya, Hourglass, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, Petite, Tonic Curvy, Tonic Fine, and Tonic Minimizer bodies. 

Next we see the Cats n' Kittens Boutique prize, the lovely CnK: Egyptian Eye Mini. It combines bare shoulders with long sleeves that are laced on the upper arm, in black with silvery accents. There are sizes included for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine mesh bodies. This dress certainly is a striking eyeful!

Freya's Fashions has a beautiful and unique prize for us called FF Sunni Swimsuit ATG Hunt 2021. The one-piece suit has side cutouts that lead to intricate lacing in the back, and there is a HUD that offers 6 textures for the suit itself plus 6 for the laces and 2 metal colors. The swimsuit comes in sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine bodies. 

There are 3 prizes at GoodVibes, and they all had the same hint so I will add for the female one that it was a good place to find a STARfish :) I right clicked the hunt object then edit then the contents tab to see which prize was inside before I bought it to make sure I had the correct one. It holds the Womans Tropix Set, a cleverly compiled look from head to toe. The dress and panties (solid white) each come in Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique sizing, while the sandals and camera are unrigged so we can adjust them. The men get a matching outfit, and there is a third unisex prize of a spinning seahorse to ride :)

My final look of the evening is a fun outfit from the Harambee-Gwassi charity store called Boho bright pants & top. The bandeau style top comes in a Maitreya mesh body size only, but the matching pants include several sizes for classic avatars (standard S, M, L plus fitmesh S, M, L) as well as Freya, Venus, Maitreya, Ocacin, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, Tonic Fine, and Voluptuous body sizes. The colors are delightful, and there are plenty of ways to wear this with a non-Maitreya body...anything from a solid white tank top to your favorite pasties to a pretty bikini top. 

I am back from my weekend blogging break, but only for one day unfortunately. The poorly timed checkup for my infected toenail (mostly better, whew!) will prevent me from having time to take photos and notes in order to be properly ready to blog tomorrow evening. I feel awful about that because I have a dentist appointment on Thursday that will also cause me to take a night off from blogging, so it will be a light week here at Midnight Magpie. I will still try to pack each post with high quality freebies and affordable offers, and ask for your patience when I am not here. My weekend was a good one, and I am excited as always for the new month and all that means in SL :) New rounds of hunts and events, and many stores change out their group gifts on a monthly basis, so there will be lots to explore. Around The Grid Hunt

Hiya everyone! Tonight we take a look at some of the dozens of $1L prizes available through the Around The Grid in 80 Days 8 Hunt. They are hiding inside clusters of palm trees, as a trio of them serves as the hunt object this round. You can also purchase the prize for $25L from the hunt object on or very near the sign if you prefer not to hunt, and it is nice to have that option available. The hunt runs for 80 days and started a couple of weeks ago, so you have until the end of September to find whichever prizes catch your eye. You can use the hints from their website to guide you, and that is also where you will find the landmarks to go from store to store. 

This first look caught my attention because of my love of birds, especially parrots. It is the female prize from Georg Bellic Design, and I specified that since there is a male prize included in the same cluster of palm trees :) This is their Sandy Dress, and she comes in sizes for Altamura, eBody Classic, eBody Curvy, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique bodies. The cutouts on the sides are a great detail, and so are the unique straps of the back.

Atlantis Design's palm trees hold two versions of this delightful Dotty 1 dress, with and without the dot pattern on the top. Each version is provided in Altamura, eBody Curvy, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and TMP sizes. The deep color really makes the folds of the skirt stand out, and I love the high-low hemline.

Sunflowers create such a cheerful look, even with this image being just half of a very large bloom :) This is the prize from Sweet E's called Purple Sunflower Tessa Dress, and it is trimmed in wide golden lace which adds to the regal nature. Find their palm trees and you will be able to claim this in sizes for Altamura, eBody Classic, eBody Curvy, Freya, Isis, Venus, Legacy, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, Star, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine mesh bodies.

Next we have a charming skirt set from Heavenly Creations, their Denee White Outfit. The tank top and wrap skirt each come in standard mesh sizes as well as Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and TMP body versions. The silvery trim on all the edges adds interest, and the pink butterflies and blossoms help to make this set extra appealing.

For my final look this evening, I am enjoying the prize from +Uni Boutique+ which is their Romper - Purple with a fun bonus. The romper is provided in sizing for Freya, Isis, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh bodies, and the Traveling Nerd Purse I am holding in my left hand is also included. Isn't it cute? The bow made me think of Hello Kitty, and I love the details like the glasses-shaped zipper pull dangling from the side opposite the bow.

It is time to celebrate the weekend and a new month, and I am so excited about both! There are some new hunts starting, and each month brings fresh rounds of various monthly events with all sorts of terrific offers. Still Sailing Around The Grid

Hiya everyone! Tonight we have another array of prizes from the Around The Grid 7 Hunt, which are each $1L if you find the hidden hot air ballon or $25L if you choose to buy the prize from the balloon near the hunt sign. I realize not everyone enjoys hunting, or maybe you just won't have the time before this hunt ends on September 30th, so it is good to know you have another option. The website is useful to have open while you hunt, since that is how we navigate from store to store, and there are hints to help us find the hidden yellow and red striped balloons.

My first look of the evening is a very thorough outfit from NUTS Inc, and one of two prizes inside the same balloon. Their ATG7 Sari Outfit includes top and skirt that you can deliver from their HUD by clicking the sizes you need: standard, Belleza (Freya, Isis, Venus), Maitreya, Slink (Hourglass, Physique), or Tonic (Curvy, Fine). There is also a button for shoes, that delivered folder contains the unrigged flat sandals and backpack you see here. They can be adjusted or resized to suit your needs, and the backpack even says 'Around the Grid" across the top. There are lots of great details like the partly open zippers in the front of the skirt, and the various patches to contrast against the denim.

Eclectic Stars has an adorable gift waiting in their balloon, this Buttercup - Pixel Love suit. It comes in standard mesh sizes along with Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine versions. It is a single mesh piece with everything you see here attached...the mane, horn, ears, muzzle, and mane which all add up to make me a unicorn!!! ♥ 

Next we see the treat from Hopes Creations, their pretty [HC] Toya ATG7 Jumpsuit. It is provided in eBody Classic, eBody Curvy, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Hourglass Petite, Physique, Physique Petite, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine sizes. The sash style belt is attached, in a sunny yellow shade that perfectly matches the daisy's centers.

The Sissy Bar is offering this casual floral delight in their balloon, (TSB) Around the Grid in 80 Days. The short sleeved crop top and daring shorts are each included in Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique sizing. Those pointed rear sections on the shorts are so intriguing and flirty!

My final look of the night comes from Grumble, and is their Glam Knotted Dress-Frenchie. The pupper-covered strapless mini comes in Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique versions, and I was immediately drawn to the cheerful sketches of flowers and bows and such surrounding the dogs.

Almost The Weekend

Hiya everyone! Tonight we continue hunting our way Around The Grid, with the ATG7 Hunt. There are many exciting prizes to be found, either by searching for the hidden red and yellow striped hot air balloon by using the hints on their website or purchasing for $25L near the hunt sign if you are not into hunting. The hunt has another full month to go, so you have plenty of time to grab these bountiful bargains.

This eye-catching dress is the ladies' prize from Mishmash Fusion, their ~*MF*~ Inertia Dress - Musician. With four cutouts that remind me of flower petals on the front, and a deep scooped back, the style is a perfect backdrop for the pattern of musical instruments and written music. It comes in standard mesh sizes plus eBody Classic, eBody Curvy, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine versions. The mens' prize (a coordinated suit) is in the same balloon for convenience.

There are some terrific tops among the hunt prizes, like this lovely [AF] Slaren Halter from Horr Menswear. With the AF prefix, I am guessing it was created by their partner/neighbor store, Ambient Fashion :) The prize includes a male gift too, so everyone is looking for the same hot air balloon. This halter top is provided in standard mesh sizes along with eBody Classic, eBody Curvy, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine versions. I am wearing my favorite marketplace gift jeans with it, they are by Delizio and include several colors in system layers plus appliers for Maitreya and Omega.

Who wants free hugs? Yes please, my avi is definitely raising her hand for that! The prize from The Bold Llama T-Shirt Co. is their Around the Grid FREE HUGS Tee. It includes standard mesh sizes along with eBody, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Ocacin, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine versions. 

Next we have the playful top from Virtual Glitter called VG_RuffleTank_Flamingo. It makes my bird-loving soul happy, in sizes for standard, eBody, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine. What a fun way to be ready for summer in a hurry!

My final look of the evening is a beautiful body art prize from TAOX TaTToo called Back Aramina Dreamcatcher. It is a unisex tattoo that goes from the nape of the neck all the way down to the lower back. My pose is making my spine curved, the tattoo is straight :) It comes in appliers for Adam, Belleza, Maitreya, Omega, Signature, and Slink, so a great mix of male and female bodies with the versatility of Omega. Each HUD offers light, medium, and dark versions (I am wearing the dark above for visibility) and an off button to clear your tattoo layer. I love the coloring especially in the feather at the bottom, and the little stars are such a cute touch. 

It was a pretty good day here, with a chiropractor visit and then a trip to a farmers market where I got some tasty treats. My parents are doing what I call a mock BBQ (their propane grill doesn't work and they haven't gotten it fixed yet, so just cooking similar food indoors) tomorrow evening, so I'll have plenty of leftovers to enjoy throughout the weekend. More Around The Grid

Hiya everyone! Tonight I have more wonderful hunt prizes from the Around The Grid 7 Hunt to show you. They are hidden inside red and yellow striped hot air balloons for $1L each, or you can purchase the prizes without searching for $25L near the hunt sign if you are not a fan of hunting but are a fan of the prizes :) We have until the end of September to find all the balloons, so there is plenty of time to follow the landmarks and hints on their website.

This first look comes from Sweet Intoxication, their charming Sundae - Sweet Treat Pack. The strapless jumpsuit comes in fitmesh standard sizes as well as Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine versions. There is also a HUD included with 6 soft pastel color choices.

The prize from Dragonmoon Designs is a gorgeous dress called [DD] Pink Goddess, which fittingly looks like a toga in style. The gift includes standard mesh sizes plus Belleza, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique versions, with daring slit and draped front. The burst of color beneath the gathered bust is a pretty touch, too!

Next we have a treat from Dark Intentions, their prize called DI: Chantelle Summer Dress. It comes in fitmesh standard sizes as well as eBody, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Ocacin, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine versions. There is even a HUD with 10 colors to choose from, all with the same intricately woven pattern that looks great in all the possible hues.

This daring body-conscious mini is the prize from Aurora's Closet, their .{AC}. Lily Summer Dress Mint. It is provided in Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine sizing, two versions with one having M in the name that just occurred to me is probably "materials". I love how the straps cross in the back, then come over the shoulders to lace through the front and hold everything together. 

My final look of the night is the ladies' portion of the prize from Georg Bellic Design, their ~GBD~ Tropical Line Beach Dress Grid 7. It is provided in standard mesh sizes along with versions for eBody, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine. It is quite sheer, so I think it would make a fantastic coverup for a bikini or swimsuit. The sleeves have clever slits in them from just below the shoulder to a bit above the wrist, very flirty.

My day has somehow gotten rather stressful, too much going on and people I rely on in my life are choosing to make things difficult. (Not Xan by the way, he is helping me stay calm) I have an appointment tomorrow, then a few things planned in the upcoming days that will keep me hopping but mostly positive things. Hunting Around The Grid

Hiya everyone! Tonight I am exploring the Around The Grid 7 Hunt, a gridwide event that lasts for 80 days (ending September 30th) and has us looking for striped hot air balloons. They are $1L each if you find the hidden one, or you can choose to purchase the prize from the one near the sign for $25L. There are hints, landmarks, and preview photos on the hunt's website, so you will want to have it open and available while you look for all these terrific prizes.

First up, we have the prize from the starting location, Go Frock Yourself. Their balloon holds the GFY-Kathleen Swimsuit, a flirty one piece that comes in Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique sizes. There is also a HUD included that offers 5 color choices, so you can get even more wear out of this summery treat.

Next we see the ladies' prize from {zfg} called emmersyn, a boyfriend style shirt that is loosely buttoned and has a fun plaid pattern. It is provided in standard mesh sizes as well as eBody Classic, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine versions. There is another balloon hidden with a mens' prize inside, so be sure you find the correct one by following the hint. This style makes me want to snuggle, and that could be with Xan or a stuffed animal or a playful pet in SL, it's all good.

The prize from AdelleArts is a hunt exclusive, their ATG 7 Gown with dramatic black and red paisley pattern. It comes in standard mesh sizes plus versions for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and TMP. 

Do you love the feeling of wearing brand new lingerie? (I do!) Be sure to find the prize at Freya's Fashions then, so you can claim their FF Rachel Lingerie - Purple Balloon set. There are system layers plus an applier HUD for Belleza, Maitreya, Omega, and Slink mesh bodies, so most of us can enjoy this very affordable luxury.

My final look of the night is a midlength dress called Tammy Watercolor, found inside the @AdReNaLiZeD@ hot air balloon. The texture has so many beautiful pastel shades, gently blended and blurred into each other, with a wide belt section that looks like snakeskin. It comes in what I call the lucky 13 of mesh sizes: 5 classic, 5 fitmesh, Belleza, Maitreya, and Slink, so plenty of fits for a wide range of shapes and bodies.

Exciting things are coming in SL, as Bakes On Mesh is now live on the main grid. This means that all those system layer skins, clothing, tattoos, etc. will be able to be layered onto mesh bodies and heads, with a huge number of layers possible. I am waiting for updates from Firestorm (my viewer of choice), Maitreya, and Genus to be able to take advantage of this intriguing advancement. A new month will be upon us soon too, so as usual that will bring lots to enjoy. I cut my hand on a glass bottle that had a little chip in it, so typing is painful but I am doing my best.
