Twisted Is Back

 Hiya everyone! Tonight's post is a huge welcome back, as I'm thrilled that the Twisted Hunt is back :) After a 3 year hiatus, we've got a theme of Hell Froze Over, which definitely shows their tongue-in-cheek attitude. This is billed as the hardest hunt in SL, with lots of small rotating cubes that you might wind up seeing in your sleep after enough time. They are patterned with a fire and ice type appearance, and when you start at their headquarters you will see your first cube so you know what you're seeking. There can be up to 13 visible decoys in addition to the main prize, which will be within 30 meters of the landing spot. There are no hints on the website, primarily because the designers tend to move the prizes around, but we can ask politely in the hunt's group for a hint if we get stuck. My partner Xan and I use teamwork, patience, and voice chat (faster and clearer than having to type out what we're trying to say) to do the hunt together, so my suggestion is to ask a friend to join you for an even more fun adventure. Another bit of advice is to always click the hunt easel if you see one, since the notecard it gives might contain a hint or details about a side hunt, or extra prizes like some of the decoys actually contain little treats. These top notch designers are showing how happy they are that Twisted is back, with some creative ways of interpreting the theme and some really generous (and devious) surprises! We're starting the evening with the Dreaming Thicket - Carnation Gown (Femme) - Hellfire prize, which is a lovely medieval styled dress in colors we can find in flames. There are a classic size and a fitmesh one for classic avatars, along with sizing for Freya, Isis, Venus, Legacy, Maitreya, Lara X, Ocacin, Reborn,  Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, Tonic Fine, and Voluptuous mesh bodies. Every detail, from the panels in the front to the gathered sleeves, work together beautifully to create an unforgettable look.

Next I slipped into the dazzling Steel & Ink - Frostmaiden prize, an intriguing style to keep you warm and looking hot. This outfit is all one piece, even the boots, and I have to mention that those fire-colored sequins you see actually twinkle and change colors in person :) It fits Legacy, Bombshell, Perky, Maitreya, Petite, Reborn, and Waifu mesh bodies. 

It was such a pleasure to see that Psyche's Pstyles is a part of the hunt too, so you can imagine how happy I am to share their Obsidian Flow Dress as their prize for us. There are sizes for Freya, Isis, Legacy, Maitreya, Lara X, Reborn, Hourglass, and Physique mesh bodies, all with that great style that looks as though it was created by magic. Fun fact about obsidian - it is volcano glass, formed by rapidly cooling lava, so that works so well with the theme of hell freezing over! Not that I'm sure that there are volcanoes in hell, but if there were and it suddenly froze, you'd find lots of obsidian. This dress doesn't even need any jewelry, just a simple pair of shoes to complete the look.

Another showstopper of a prize is our ~MystRie~ Fire & Ice Gown. This incredible style looks like modern art, with dramatic neckline and long icy train. We receive Freya, Isis, Legacy, Maitreya, Lara X, Reborn, and Waifu mesh body sizes when we find this hidden cube. There are several hidden here actually, 7 I believe, containing prizes for men, women, and dinkies. So please take your time and explore thoroughly, as you'll be greatly rewarded :)

For my final look this evening, I'm showing off our @rOrO Halloween Plaid Set prize. I love that it includes matching footwear! We start with the top and skirt, each provided in sizing for Erika, Legacy, Lara X, Reborn, and Star mesh bodies. Then we get to add the bow platforms, which are designed for Gen X, Legacy, Maitreya, Reborn, and Slink feet. Those really solid type platform shoes make me think of 90s grunge style somehow, and the plaid colors are perfect for this time of year right along with the fire and ice combo of our theme. 

It was a pretty good evening with some exciting hockey while I started this post, so I am in a pleasant mood :) It still feels like every time I turn around there's another event starting in SL, all for Halloween and several with gifts that I can share here. Time for Twisted

Hiya everyone! Tonight we explore the challenging hunt path that is Twisted, with their Fall 2020 round whose theme is Drow and cube color is moss covered earth. We are looking for small slowly rotating "lament" cubes, with at least one per store containing a prize and up to 13 visible decoys (cubes that do not contain a prize) from this round. A few stores used other rounds' cubes as part of the decor and those do not count towards the decoy limit, and each round has a unique texture for the cubes so that is quite clever in a diabolical sort of way ;) The list of participating stores has a combination of familiar names and a few that were new to me, so I enjoyed visiting all of them in different ways. Please keep an eye out for the Twisted easels that many stores have out to click, as they will distribute a notecard with helpful information about side hunts, exclusive sales items, gachas, and occasionally a hint or two. Otherwise the only way to get a hint is by joining the inworld group and asking politely. The group will also let us know when the End Game is ready, as they are experiencing a RL delay but hopefully will be ready to challenge us with it soon.

My first look is the prize from Dreaming Thicket called Nightshade Gown, and it is an elegant full length dress with sheer sleeves and built in belt. It is provided in sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Ocacin, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, Tonic Fine, and Voluptuous mesh bodies. It incorporates both the green and brown from the cube colors in its ombre, and I love the way the sleeves have a loop around each middle finger to hold them in place. 

My adventures also took me to Little 2 Large, where I found not only the main prize but embarked upon their mini hunt as well. The main gift for the ladies is this daring L2L Trowie Dress THF20, provided in sizes for dinkies and petites in addition to the one you see here. The top and bottom come in system/BOM layers along with an Omega applier. The flexi skirt comes in two versions, with the original on the left above and the THF20 with cube pattern on the right, so you can choose which one to wear. 

Another store who has a side hunt waiting for us is Roped Passions, although this round it has been designed to take photos and inspire spending time together. The main prize is the daring (RP) Varle Webbed Dress, in sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine bodies. Here I added two gifts found in the side hunt, the (RP) Varle Webbed Gloves and the (RP) Varle Necklace. The gloves have been crafted in Maitreya, Slink, and Tonic sizing, and the necklace is unrigged so you can adjust it if need be. I am enjoying the tiny hints of purple throughout these prizes, and I expect these spidery goodies will be making lots of appearances near Halloween too.

The main prize at **DSO** in their store is the mens outfit, so the ladies need to head to their side hunt and find crystals and more cubes to claim this wonderful treat called **DSO** Runea Outfit. The strapless dress with fluttery strips for the skirt is provided in sizes for Altamura, eBody Curvy, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and TMP mesh bodies. The shoes have two versions, v1 with spiders and v2 without, each in Slink High size and an unrigged size so you can adjust as needed. I appreciate the fact that they included a version without creepy crawlies for anyone who suffers from arachnophobia, which I must have a mild case of since live ones freak me out but still images do not. Ones that move in SL bother me a bit, less than RL though. Did you notice the cube texture on the bodice of the dress?

For my final look this evening, I kept the lovely **DSO** dress on and slipped into the prize from GERMINAL which is their DROW SLEEVES bom THF20. These tattoos are suitable for classic avatars as well as all BOM compatible mesh bodies, and come in the dark version (seen on the left above) and a white tintable version (right) which I left white since I like the delicate lacy appearance. These are unisex, so all you need to do is find the correct cube in their store to claim this. That is always the tricky part ;) I specifically recall asking Xan in a joking manner while in this store, why I am so good at finding all the decoys but not the real cube, but of course there is no answer to that mystery. 

Despite having blood drawn, it was a pretty good day...I have been going to the same lab for many years now, and the same phlebotomist has been there the entire time, so she greets me warmly like an old friend. Chatting with her is pleasant enough to distract from the needle, and her experience helps her do her job very swiftly and nearly painlessly. I am very fair skinned so I tend to bruise easily, but she usually doesn't bruise me and I do not see any discoloration yet. Otherwise I just had a few errands to run while out, picking up curbside orders, so it was a productive day. I hope you're all having a delightful day/evening, many magical magpie hugs to everyone!!

More Twisted Treats

Hiya everyone! Tonight we continue down the Twisted Fall 2019 Hunt path, to find free prizes inside the bloodstained black cubes. The theme is Damned, so you can expect our gifts to be on the dark side. My inner goth is enjoying them for sure :) There are no hints on their website, but if you join the group inworld you can request one if you need it, and there are easels at many locations with information about side hunts, gachas, exclusive sales, and more. As I mentioned yesterday, there can be up to 13 visible decoys in addition to the real cube bearing a gift, so keep looking until you find one for sale with contents.

My first look this evening is an elegant gown from Dreaming Thicket, their Twisted Women's Gift called Fleur Dress. It comes in standard mesh sizes as well as a Maitreya version, and is really a lovely formal look. There is a men's gift in this same cube, so just the one to find among any decoys.

:.C!L.: has this striking gown waiting in their cube, once you find the one that isn't a decoy of course ;) It is called Morticia Red Ball Gown Set, and starts with the exquisite gown in standard mesh sizes plus Belleza, Maitreya, and Slink versions. Then we can add the laced ribbons for each sleeve, and the overlap and underlap which are flexi skirt pieces for each side then the back. They add movement and fullness, both beautiful benefits. The built in collar really adds something special to this look as well.

This beautiful look is one of the 4 prizes hiding at Moonlitecat Creations, called MLCC Damned in Red Gown. It is provided in fitmesh standard sizes plus versions for eBody, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Ocacin, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine mesh bodies. The lacing in the back is one of my favorite touches of this dress, although the blood red roses are up there too.

If you prefer less formal looks, fear not (pun intended) because {zfg} has a playful t-shirt for the guys and the gals. It is called Camp Crystal Lake, and beneath the hockey mask says "Population 0". The ladies version includes standard sizes plus Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine versions. The mens is in the same cube. In case you wondered, yes I did wear this on Friday the 13th :)

My final look of the night is another casual treat, the :::insanya::: ClaraBandeau - Leopard top. It comes in sizes for Freya natural, Freya perky, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique. The HUD offers an impressive 18 colors of the leopard print, so you can get creative with matching your chosen bottoms or your mood. Speaking of bottoms, I am wearing the marketplace freebie jeans from Delizio that appear here from time to time, which include several colors as system layers as well as Maitreya and Omega appliers.

Time To Get Twisted

Hiya everyone! Tonight I am excited to share some prizes from the Twisted Spring 2019 Hunt, whose theme is Divine. There are many ways to interpret that, and the creative designers did not disappoint :) This is billed as the hardest hunt in SL, and if you have ever taken part you know why. We are looking for bright golden cubes this round, and that color makes an appearance in many of the prizes. The website has all the locations in case you need to skip one, and you can join the inworld group if you want to be able to ask for a hint. I would definitely suggest perusing the website before starting or joining for helpful tips and guidelines. Most of the stores have extras like special sale items, gachas, decoys that contain prizes, and side hunts, so be sure to click the easels anywhere you see them for information.

My first look this evening is the prize from Secrets of Gaia, who are honoring their divine namesake with Gaia's Blessings Women's Top, Skirt, Shoes, and Jewelry. The top and skirt are each provided in Small and Medium standard sizes plus eBody, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique. The sandals are in two unrigged versions along with Maitreya and Slink flat sizes, and the earrings and necklace match everything wonderfully. 

Dreaming Thicket has prizes for men and women, and a side hunt with 7 prizes to make everyone feel divine. For this look I am wearing the Asphodel Chiton Dress which is one of the main prizes, and comes in fitmesh standard sizes plus Belleza, Maitreya, and Slink versions. I paired it with one of the side hunt prizes, the lovely Celestial Necklace - Divine Messenger, which you can see closer in the inset. I love that it matches the dress with the yellowy gold gems, but will also look just as pretty with practically anything in your inventory. The side hunt is certainly intriguing, as you will see...not for kids or the faint of heart ;)

For this look, I am pretty much wrapped in Sn@tch from head to toe ;) The main prize is my Sn@tch Lovely Lies Necklace, which comes with a HUD that lets you choose from 5 metal colors. As for the rest of my outfit, it is all from the store hunt which involves finding 7 treasure chests. The top and skirt are the Sn@tch Unholy Mixed Mesh Outfit in Black, with system layers and an Omega applier for the top and standard mesh sizes plus eBody, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine versions. Next I added the Sn@tch Daydream Mini Corset in Crosses, which comes in Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine sizes. The thigh high Sn@tch Lorna Pentangle Boots come in the same sizes as the corset, and really add something special to this look. As for accessories, the Sn@tch Lovely Lies Armbands, Sn@tch Lovely Lies Bracelets, and Sn@tch Heretic Earrings (three separate mini hunt prizes) each include a similar HUD to the necklace with 5 metallic texture choices. Even my hair here is a prize, the Sn@tch Aoki Hair in 3 colors (red, white, black) that also includes a set of mesh eyes not shown. You can wear as many of these prizes together as you wish, or mix and match to flex your creativity.

This revealing look can be found at Roped Passions, thanks to a main prize and a side hunt. The female main prize is the (RP) Calliope Silks Divine, which are included in standard mesh sizes as well as Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique versions. They have an ombre to them, both in color and transparency, as you can tell from that rear view especially. I added a treat from the Roped Passions side hunt, their (RP) Twisted Divine Warrior Headdress. It is beautifully designed, and just one of seven prizes from the side hunt.

My final look of the night is from Dramazone, called Ostara - gown, wraith with texture HUD, vines. It is named for the Germanic goddess of light and spring, and starts with the satiny gown in standard mesh sizes plus Freya, Isis, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique fits, with a HUD that offers 8 color/texture choices. There are vine sections for the upper and lower parts of each arm, and the crown jewel (bad pun, sorry) is the wreath of flowers that also comes with an 8 color HUD. I admit, I did feel very ready to welcome spring in this fantastic prize!

Have you ever had a day that felt like it was two full days because you did so much and took a long nap in the middle? That would pretty much sum up my Saturday, which is not a bad thing, just quirky. I saw that April the giraffe had her calf (a boy) but I had not been watching her live camera this time around like I did a couple of years ago. Twisted Atlantis

Hiya everyone! Tonight we continue our journey to Atlantis, which is the theme of the Twisted Hunt Spring 2018 round. The cubes are beautiful blue and gold, the decoys are plentiful, and the challenge level is sky high ;) The thing is, I truly enjoy the creativity that the designers show us with their displays and ability to hide the little spinning cubes that you just might start dreaming about. I haven't had any cube dreams yet this round but sure have from previous ones! I do recommend looking over their website if this is your first Twisted experience, and joining the group if you think you might need to ask for hints.

When you find the cube at Get Frocked, you too will be able to lace yourself into this lovely Twisted Spring Hunt Dress as your reward. It comes in sizes for eBody, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine, with so many terrific details like the cube pattern on one of the layers. I accessorized with the Lantian Flox prize, which is called L/Fx Poseidon Trident Necklace v3 Pearl. There are two sizes included in the gift, and as you can see from the inset it does have pearl accents alongside the intricate trident. I am wearing the small size, the large is probably suitable for male avatars.

The EKC has a side hunt for us to enjoy, and one of the four prizes from it is this terrific Mers & Cocktails Dress. It comes in Hourglass and Physique sizes (could possibly fit others with some alpha tweaking) and a HUD that allows you to choose from 4 different textures, two of which can be seen above. It is a very shapely dress with eye-catching laces on the sides, and the mermaid fish scales of the pattern work well with its style.

If there is roleplay in your future, then you especially need to find the right cube at Dreaming Thicket. This is their Atlantis Outfit, and there are male and female versions included, each with and without the outer robe, and both male and female boots provided as well. Like many of our prizes, there are images of cubes present, as a fun reminder that you accomplished something remarkable by finding all these wonderful prizes.

There is something intriguing about this gown from MystRie, called Atlantis Dress, and I believe it is the very subtle swirls of deep gold that are catching my attention. There is a male prize hiding in a different cube, while this one holds fitmesh standard sizes plus Belleza, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique versions. I think it also appeals to the Aquarius in me, the sign of the water bearer despite being an air sign.

My final look of the evening is a closer view of the nails I have been sporting tonight, the prize from Inevitable Madness. Their gorgeous Atlantic Pearl Nails include HUDs for Belleza, Maitreya, Omega, Slink, and Vista, with 6 designs in vivid blue and/or shiny gold, a couple of which are decorated with pearls from the deep oceans. This is a very versatile set of nails with plenty of compatibility for a wide range of mesh hands and feet, which is much appreciated.
