Welcoming August

 Hiya everyone! Tonight we start with the Malus Park Summer Camp Hunt, with prizes from $1L - $10L hidden in different colored sleeping bag rolls. They are color coded per designer, and the hunt keys are at the landing area so you know what prizes you can find in the beautiful park. The website has the hunt keys as well as hints, so you can explore the grounds effectively and find the prizes you desire. Then I found some lovely clothing from DM Design among their group gifts to share, and since their group is free to join these will not cost a single thing :) 

My first look of the evening is one of the seven $10L hunt prizes from Starlight Apparel, who are clearly helping to make this hunt a special one :) This is their .{SA}. Kelly Romper Cerise, a terrific choice for summer with its plunging neckline and bare back that shows off the tasseled ties of the neck bows. There are sizes for Freya, Hourglass, Kupra, Kups, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, and Petite mesh bodies, all in that rich shade of pinkish red. 

If you love the style of the romper (as I do) and crave a patterned version, try to find the sleeping bag roll containing the .{SA}. Kelly Romper Pink Swan so you can pick it up for just $10L. It comes in the same set of sizes as the Cerise version above, but in a soft pink adorned with swans wearing golden crowns and dotted with darker pink hearts. I think part of the appeal for me is the double strings brought around to the back, and the legs gathered at the hip for even more loose bows to draw the eye. 

For this look I am combining hunt prizes and group gifts, and since I was already discussing hunt prizes I will start with those ;) The backpack and boots are each $5L hunt prizes from ~MystRie~, with similar offerings for male avatars and a fifth prize of a campfire to roast marshmallows at your home. The Hiking Camping Backpack is provided in a fitmesh M size as well as Belleza, Legacy, Maitreya, Slink, and Tonic rigged versions so the straps fit nicely. The colors of the backpack and roll beneath made me think of autumn, yet they will suit your camping adventures any time of year. The Ladies Hiking Boots are a terrific pairing for the backpack, designed for Belleza, Legacy, Maitreya, Slink, and Tonic flat feet as well as an unrigged pair you can adjust as needed. They look sturdy yet comfortable, and are a great neutral color to wear with any camping outfit you wish. Speaking of outfits, I also changed into the DM Design Outfit Isabel which is a chic casual pairing of turtleneck and leggings. They are each included in standard mesh sizes plus Freya, Venus, Maitreya, Ocacin, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine body sizing. There is also a HUD as you probably guessed, with 10 options each that are solid colors for the pants and a mix of solids and patterns for the top. 

Next I changed into the DM Design Nadine Dress-4, a group gift of a striking long sleeved bodycon dress with fun embossing that highlights our curves. There are standard mesh sizes along with Belleza Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and TMP body sizes provided in this gift. Then I realized that the shade of teal green used on the dress is an ideal match for one of the Starlight Apparel hunt prizes, their charming .{SA}. Eden Sandals Tropical Green. These strappy shoes will fit Belleza, Kupra, Legacy, Maitreya, and Slink High feet, and are just $10L when you find the correct sleeping bag. The floral pattern is so fun, and I can see these matching plenty of your favorite wardrobe staples for any season.

The DM Design Snejana Dress group gift may be more suited for glamping than camping, but I am not complaining ;) It is provided in sizing for Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh bodies, with a 10 color HUD with each denim hue having a preselected belt color to contrast and compliment it very nicely. The strapless style is a summery delight, and the details like front zipper and strong pleats make it extra special. I've been trying to decide how to accessorize it...chunky bracelet? Choker? Maybe a bold pair of gold earrings to match the buckle? I think there are no wrong answers!

It is hard to believe that August is here already when at times it feels like it was just spring, but this heatwave has made summer much more noticeable. When I was a kid, August's arrival meant getting ready for a week's vacation at the beach which we always took the 3rd week of the month. The month always has a sentimental feeling for me because of it, and both my grandfathers were born in August while my parents and one grandmother are September babies. FabFree Group Gifts

 Hiya everyone! Tonight's post features several group gift for the FabFree in SL group, which is free to join and also currently in the final week of their FabFree at Fifteen celebration. I've covered that in a few prior posts, so tonight's gifts are all regularly offered group gifts that are not connected to the shopping/gifting event celebrating FabFree's 15th birthday. However most of the stores are also offering sales and gifts for that event, so if you haven't already explored it this is a good reminder to do so :) There are simply so many fantastic designers who participate in the event and the group in general, offering group gifts all year round, and I am very grateful to all of them.

My first look tonight is the Debra Flared Skirt Dress Beige gift from [satus Inc]. This lovely sleeveless dress comes in sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh bodies. It is delicately trimmed in an off white that is just a few shades lighter than the main beige hue. The skirt billows out beautifully, whether in motion or standing perfectly still. 

I also visited zOOm and picked up their fun and versatile Pixie Outfit gift. It consists of the t-shirt, shorts, and skirt seen here, each in Freya, Legacy, and Maitreya sizes. Then there is a HUD with 4 colors for each piece, so we can mix and match a few dark hues. Each separate has its own texture, so that adds to the visual interest as well :) This became an instant favorite as soon as I tried it on for the first time!

Next we have the well-coordinated [Vips Creations] - [Louisa-Silver Diamonds] gift just for FabFree group members. The dress includes a classic fitted version as well as sizing for Belleza Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh bodies. The matching shoes will fit Belleza, Maitreya, and Slink high feet, and are adorned with several pretty bows. This outfit is a great choice if you are heading to a nightclub, since basic black dresses can be very common there and all this sparkle will stand out in the best way.

Many of us are deep into summer in RL, with some heat waves sweeping lots of areas, so a bikini is sounding very tempting right now and this one is looking sexy! This is the 160 - Bikini Color 3 from Cremosas Store, a very generous designer with tons of gifts for various groups including two of their own. Just look for the rainbow FabFree sign to find this one among all the others :) Its bra and panties each come in Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine mesh body sizes. The panties are thong styled, with the bra having a very unique cropped corset shape with an attached ribbon like a necklace that is tied in the front. I really like the lush burgundy color, very flattering!

I chose something especially seductive for my final look of the evening, the Glitter Katia Fitmesh High Slit Dress Acqua. This asymmetrical hemmed slip dress fits the Maitreya mesh body, and includes a HUD with solid or sheer options for the shimmery satin fabric. My eyes are automatically drawn to the gold V neckline, then the flirty opening, leading down to the bared left hip. As you can tell from the rear view, the sheer option is just as shiny and is almost the same color but our skin tone shows through just enough to change it a tiny bit. 🔥

It was a whirlwind of a weekend here, thanks to the heat and the trip to the farmers market. The couple who are retiring from their business were celebrating their final day there, and I admit I felt very emotional saying goodbye to them even though I expect we'll see them shopping there as customers from time to time. The sweet Boston terrier who is usually there was extra friendly and I felt so much better after petting him ♥. Animals can definitely sense emotions, as I've seen time and time again, and I'm guessing most of you have experienced similar. My television (next to and slightly behind my monitor here) is older than dirt and about to croak, so I took advantage of a back to school sale at Best Buy and ordered a new tv that will be ready by Friday I believe, but sometimes they are faster than expected so could be any point this week. My current one is a Roku tv, so the new one is also which means a very easy transition without having to learn a new system. Mesh Body Friends Gifts

 Hiya everyone! Tonight we are activating our free Mesh Body Friends group tag and visiting some participating designers' stores to claim their generous gifts. What will you find? Well I am excited as always to show you :) I deeply appreciate every single designer who offers any sort of group gifts, as it gives us a great idea of their usual style and talents that we can enjoy as a sneak peek. It also encourages me to return to do some shopping, as I usually grab demos from places whose merchandise I am especially fond of. 

My first look of the evening comes from Brunsen Couture, and is called Meli Outfit Black Grey. The top and skirt are linked so it wears like a one-piece dress, in sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh bodies. The dark grey top has an eye-catching sheen, and the skirt is trimmed with two rows of lacing down the front which is just a lovely detail.

REED has a gift that will help you get ready for a visit to cooler climates in SL, their KIARA sweater dress. It is a hot pink knit with snowflakes in the design, long sleeved with a few buttons beneath the V neckline. Our gift comes in Freya, Isis, Venus, Legacy, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh body sizing. Since we never know when any store will be changing their group gifts, I figure it's best to grab it now while we can and put aside for late fall ;)

The *Gloss* Katrina Mini Dress gave me quite a chuckle, as I was always a good girl until well into adulthood when I let my bad girl side come out to play sometimes ;) The flirty tank dress includes sizes for Altamura, Freya, Isis, Hourglass, Kupra (Bimbo, Low, Original), Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, and Petite mesh bodies. In addition to the words "bad girl" on the front, we also see a red keyhole with a silhouette of a curvy lady inside. 

Next we visit ANNE COUTURE to claim their *AS* SONIA gift for Mesh Body Friends. This playful strapless mini will fit Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique bodies, and includes a 6 texture HUD so we can change up the look. There are 4 solid colors and 2 choices with images like the one on the left above, both sexy and yet amusing :) The rear view is rather cheeky thanks to a very short hemline, just like the dress above it. 

For my final look of the night, I visited GeMyles and went upstairs where all their group gifts are located along with some lucky chairs and a midnight mania board :) The gift for Mesh Body Friends is their Vanezza Dress & Boots Outfit, and to claim it we need to right click the sign and pay $1L which will be immediately refunded while the gift is delivered. The alluring dress has Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and TMP sizes inside, and there is similar sizing for the shoes & striped tights combo - Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique. Add the 32 color HUD and you can tint the non-black portions of both pieces at once, for a well coordinated look :) 

As is all too frequent lately, my plans got changed (canceled) so I did not go to dinner at my parents' house. This time it wasn't the weather, but something they had to take care of for my grandmother that took up most of their day. It is complicated but they are trying to get the proper forms for a tax rebate that she is eligible for, and will help enormously with her finances which are dwindling due to the cost of in-home healthcare for several years. Tomorrow morning I am heading to the farmers market, where I will be saying a sad goodbye to one of the vendors on their last day in business. Sweet couple, I've enjoyed chatting with both of them every week for a few years now and it's never easy but I'll be wishing them a fond farewell. Freedom of Summer

 Hiya everyone! Tonight I'd like to invite you to the Freedom of Summer 3 Fair & Hunt, where there are many exclusive or discounted offers with proceeds going to charity, as well as free gifts and a $3L hunt for dolphin plushies. The signs said it was open until July 15th, but I saw a mention on a hunt website indicating it lasts until the 15th of August...since we are nearly 2 weeks past the 15th of July, and it's still going strong, I am hopeful that it will remain open until the mid-August date :) So the charity is the Harambee Gwassi Kenya Schools non profit organization, and you will find plenty of intriguing information on the good work they do while you visit and on their website :) The hunt prizes are pictured there too, with photos of the gifts that I noticed ranged from $0L - $10L or so. There is a lot to see, so come shopping for a good cause!

The free gift from Emerald Couture is their EC Rain Dress Gray. This beautiful mini dress hugs our curves and is trimmed with scalloped lace at the hemline, so pretty! There are standard mesh sizes as well as Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, and Sapphira mesh bodies provided. 

Next we take a look at the charming Trina plain dress from Telsiope's Couture. This free dress fits Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique bodies, with a 4 color HUD so you can choose your favorite hue. The long sleeves are a cozy touch, balanced by the short swingy hem.

I also found a generous free gift at the AnaSTyle display, their sexy Orkidea Black&Gold - Dress. It is mostly sheer golden lace, with black bodice and center front panel. The little gold bows on the front are a playful touch, aren't they? I am also very fond of the trio of straps in the back that link to the shoulder straps, forming a bit of a web across our back. The gift includes Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh body sizing.

[C.Y<3Fashion] is offering their *Dory*DRESS as their free gift for all visitors. It fits Freya, Isis, Hourglass, and Maitreya mesh bodies, with a HUD to select from 6 colors each for the top, skirt, and belt. These can be mixed and matched to suit any mood or personal preferences :) The combination of lace and sequins against the solid skirt makes for an exciting look.

My final look of the evening is a closer view of the :::: FRIDA Nails :::: lilac--SQUARE gift I've been enjoying this evening. These long and lavish bento mesh nails include sizes for Belleza, Kupra, Legacy, Maitreya, Slink, and Tonic hands, so just use your body's HUD to hide the built in nails and add the appropriate version. Lilac is one of my favorite shades of my favorite color purple, so this free gift makes me extremely happy and grateful :)

Today was another warm one, but a peaceful one at home so I am doing okay. We had some brief but severe thunderstorms this evening, then more are expected tomorrow which may mean no dinner at my parents' again. The weather really seems against us getting together lately :P  Oh well, at least the climate in SL can be exactly what we choose, so I can visit sunny places that make me smile whenever I log in. More Ydea Style Treats

 Hiya everyone! Tonight we return to Ydea Style to win some more lucky board prizes, as there are several dozen (over 60) possibilities we can claim with their free group tag. The boards change letters rapidly so just hang out a bit and look for your initial, and be sure to bring some friends since there are male and female prizes to be won. As I mentioned last night, there are sets of numbered prizes (names like Gift woman 2) that have the same names as other prizes, so I suggest opening all of the packages you win and checking the photo inside or the names of the contents to tell if it's a duplicate or not. Ydea Style Luck

 Hiya everyone! Tonight we are visiting Ydea Style, where their free group tag lets us claim lots of group gifts as well as win prizes on over 60 lucky boards and a half dozen lucky chairs. Their generosity is impressive, and so is the quality of their merchandise as I think you will find out as soon as you visit. Many of the boards have men's prizes, so please share this information with your male avatar friends too. The boards change so quickly, some as fast as every minute, so you could get very lucky and win several prizes in a short amount of time, like I did :) So that is what I will be sharing tonight, a handful of terrific prizes from their lucky boards, which I hope you enjoy as much as I have. The tropical pattern on the fabric really suits the style, and I love the way both pieces have bold metallic clasps to bring the look together even more. It was a little less hot today, which is good since I have to go out tomorrow and the temperature should be similar. alaskametro at The Free Dove

 Hiya everyone! Tonight I'm inviting you to The Free Dove for their monthly mini hunt which is called Summer Vibes Festival. The featured designer is alaskametro<3, a very talented skin and beauty creator who also offers clothing in mesh and appliers. There are 10 prizes in this hunt, 5 at The Free Dove and the other 5 at alaskametro's mainstore, all to be found inside VIP passes. There is a photo of the hunt object on the hunt signs, as well as a guide to all 10 generous gifts we can receive for free with the Free Dove group tag active. We have until the end of the month to find all 10, so be sure to explore both locations thoroughly and enjoy your visits :) Prizes #1-5 are at The Free Dove, while #6-10 can be found at the alaskametro mainstore. 

For my first look, I am showing off the alaskametro<3 "Kismet II" BOM skin - FitB Tone 2 med brow which is one of 6 versions of this skin included in prize #1 as BOM and Omega appliers. Each of three tones has a no brow version and a med brow, which is what I'm wearing here, and there are tintable eyebrows included that you can add to the no-brow and color them to match any hair you wish. Then I covered up the essential bits with the prize #5 alaskametro<3 "Annika" lingerie 01 white. There are system/BOM layers and Omega appliers here too, top and panties each in white and brown versions. Both of these gifts are from The Free Dove location. 

Next I changed skin tone and color of the lingerie, then added some shorts for a look that is more suited to public wear ;) The skin is Tone 3 med brow, and the lingerie is the 02 brown with a very pretty coppery tint. Then I slipped into one of the prizes found at the alaskametro mainstore, their Shorts: #6 alaskametro<3 "Eve" shorts 01 which is a pale blue. There is also a black pair, and both include a classic M size along with Legacy and Maitreya sizing. Love the lace trim on the front and back pockets, just another texture detail to enjoy. I decided my lips should have a little fun too, so I picked a random shade from the prize #3 (found at The Free Dove) called alaskametro<3 "Backstage" lipstick 06 FIT A. There are 6 colors in system/BOM layers and an Omega applier, with 4 fits including A, B, C, and X for EvoX. The first three letters are for various heads that use the more standard SL mapping, so just try each to see which matches your lip shape best. 

You might find the evenings getting chilly at a summer festival, or if just wearing the sexy lingerie you might want to start out with a coverup, so it's a good thing one of the prizes at The Free Dove is the #2 alaskametro<3 "Misty" coverup kimono. Version 01 is the beautiful black floral version on the left above, and 02 is creamy white paisley. Both come in the same sizes as the shorts (classic M, Legacy, Maitreya) and are delightfully sheer with lots of playful fringe. The style makes my Boho heart happy ♥. The shorts are the "Eve" shorts 02, and the lingerie is back to the white version. The lipstick is color 02 since I wanted a nice shimmery pink to complement the flowers on the coverup.

The Tone 4 med brow version of our Kismet II skin prize (#1 at The Free Dove) is the darkest among the three included, and it sure looks like I have spent some time in the sun at this festival :) That really suits the prize #8 alaskametro<3 "Dore" metallic tattoos, pale gold painted on various locations like arms, back, hands, thighs, even the tops of our feet. This prize is found at alaskametro and has system/BOM layers plus Omega appliers, so lots of compatibility. They make me think of music festivals, so very on-theme. 

My final look of the evening is a closeup of prize #4 (found at The Free Dove) named alaskametro<3 "Coachella" nail art. There are 15 total designs to choose from, 5 art styles on three different background colors (pale pink is the one not shown above) on appliers for Maitreya, Omega, and Slink/Cinnamon Chai. The Maitreya HUD has 3 mix options, so you can wear all five styles in one color at once. That is what I did in both images merged together above, which I did to make sure you could see as many as possible :) The metallic decorations are a great pairing for the metallic tattoo prize, aren't they? As a bit of a bonus, you can see a closer look at the lipstick 05 shade and the subtle glitter these lipsticks contain.

FabFree St Pattys Hunt

 Hiya everyone! Tonight we begin to explore the FabFree St. Patty's Day Hunt, with prizes ranging from $0L - $5L at lots of terrific participating stores. You already know that FabFree has an amazing roster of designers, so it shouldn't be a surprise that there are so many extra affordable prizes to help us celebrate St. Patrick's Day or spring in general. I hope you like green ;) The prizes are tucked inside neon rainbows of various sizes, just follow the hints on the website to guide you. I do not have any Irish heritage but have some good friends who do, and I find Celtic designs (like the knotwork you will see on a few of the prizes) to be so beautiful. 

My first randomly selected store was Emerald Couture, where there are 3 prizes hiding in a trio of neon rainbows. Two are $5L each and a third is free :) This beautiful dress is the EC Trisha Dress Black, which is the free hunt prize. It is provided in sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine mesh bodies, with a really lovely scrollwork pattern decorated with shamrocks on the bra cups and top layer of the frilly skirt. 

Another of their rainbows holds this $5L prize called EC Piper Outfit [BOM] Green. Its tank top and belted shorts each come in system/BOM layers and an Omega applier. The coordinating heels fit Belleza, eBody, Kupra, Maitreya, Slink, and Sofia mesh feet, and have a hint of sparkle in their dark green texture. I really like the crisscrossed straps on the back of our top!

I also stopped at Telsiope's Couture, where I was happy to locate their $1L Ester st. patrick dress prize. It has a pencil skirt and sheer upper bodice, decorated both front and back with clovers and greenery. This prize includes eBody Classic, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh body sizes. There is also a "shamrocks all around me" poofer, not shown, so you can share some seasonal goodness wherever you go. 

I am a longtime fan of alaskametro<3, so I was excited to visit and pick up their hunt prizes too. This gorgeous "Brandy" glitter minidress - Emerald is one of three there, all for just $1L each. It comes in sizes for Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh bodies, as well as a size M for classic avatars. The sparkly texture reminds me of nail polish, which is especially appropriate because of the next prize I'm showing you...

My final look of the evening is the alaskametro<3 "Emerald Isle" nail art appliers, of which I randomly chose 3 designs to share collage style by combining multiple images. There are 15 total themed designs on appliers for Maitreya, Omega, and Slink/Cinn/Chai bodies. I love their appliers which are designed to resemble those round swatch wheels that can be used to practice your nail art on or just sample a bunch of nail polishes at once. 

It already feels like it's been a very long week somehow, but we can all slog through it together :) The new month means new adventures like this and other hunt rounds, and there are always events to explore, so I am looking forward to those as always. Trick or Treat Lane

 Hiya everyone! Tonight I am starting my weekend at Trick or Treat Lane, an annual event with exclusive sales items and free gifts from every designer. They are either tricks or treats, meaning the tote bag they are in is either hidden inside the store's pumpkin-shaped booth or out in the open on the hay bale to the left of each display. There is an impressive lineup of participants, of which you can get a sneak preview if you wish by visiting their website. This is such a fun season for shopping!

This pretty look starts with the Dark Intentions gift called DI: Boo Long Tank, that I am wearing as a dress. It comes in sizes for eBody, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique bodies, with a 10 color HUD to change the background hue of the Halloween themed pattern. Its short length works well to show off the alaskametro<3 gift "Black Kat" limited edition tights, which are provided in system/BOM layers and an Omega applier. The kitty is so cute, and did you notice the tails on the back? Such cute details!

If you need some seasonal lingerie, be sure to pick up the [QE] Lilith Lingerie -Halloween- gift from Trick or Treat Lane. This strapless mini has a solid black top tied with a satiny bow above the tight skirt smattered with a rainbow of stars. I also eagerly grabbed the treat from 1313 Mockingbird Lane, called (*<*) 1313 Norma Jean Bikini - Gothabilly. It has a terrific unpacker HUD that lets you choose just the size(s) you want to deliver - Kupra, Kupra Kups, Legacy, Legacy Perky, Maitreya, or Maitreya Petite - and once you click it you will receive a folder with the top and bottom inside. The bikini top has a fun double strap in the back and a contrasting white halter strap, while the bottom is high waisted with roses and skulls adorning it.

My final look of the evening is the treat from Sn@tch, their hilarious Wrong Crop Top. It includes eBody Curvy, Freya, Hourglass, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, and Petite body sizes. There is also a HUD as you probably guessed, with 6 amusing sayings to choose from. I feel like if Wednesday Addams were in SL, this is something she would wear, and I mean that as a fervent compliment :)

Are you ready for the weekend? I had a really nice visit with my parents for dinner, and am looking forward to the farmers market in the morning. The weather should be cool but not rainy, although I think the clouds will make it feel extra chilly so a light jacket might be in order. I remember when it used to feel like winter in late October and even had snow for Halloween on occasion, but I think the last snowy Halloween was about 10 years ago. I will be taking my customary Saturday evening off from blogging, but I'll return Sunday with some more Trick or Treat Lane goodies because you deserve to see more.
