Hiya everyone! Tonight a celebration has begun at Belle Epoque, their 10th anniversary, and in traditional SL fashion there are gifts for all of us to enjoy. In this case we're hunting for small cakes, 19 of them to be precise, frosted in snowy white with pink trim. No group tag is needed, just find them and click them to receive your free gifts :) Be prepared to explore not only inside the store, but outside and even above, as if you walk far enough you'll find a path to steps leading to a beautiful outdoor cafe type area on top of the main store. 5 of the gifts are from Belle Epoque, and the rest come from their friends so we've got other terrific brands offering goodies as well. It just opened (the 14th) and runs until the 14th of December, so we have time to leisurely appreciate this event.
My first look is the Belle Epoque - BE10A - Gift 1, also known as their Haley dress. You'll certainly feel like a star in this one, considering there are two of them featured on it! We receive sizes for Legacy, Perky, Lara X, Petite X, Reborn, and Waifu mesh bodies. The upper star is clinging to the left breast and the lower one is stitched to the right hip, both being beaded and very nicely detailed. Speaking of details, I love the zipper in the back, showing exactly how we slip into this beauty.
This weekend might be a good time to unwind in our Belle Epoque - BE10A - Gift 2 hunt prize, their Lizette Top and Carol Panties set. The top comes in Legacy, Perky, Lara X, Petite X, Reborn, and Waifu sizes, while the panties fit Legacy, Lara X, and Reborn bodies to match. The heart sketched onto the cropped top is simple and sweet, reminiscent of chalk on a board. It made me giggle to see a bit of bum cleavage in the rear view :)
Something else that made me chuckle was seeing our ::moonshine:: Angel Tattoo prize, because I would normally expect a single pair of wings and maybe a halo. Instead we've got more of a biblically accurate angel with multiple wings and eyes on our midriff, which is provided as a BOM layer in fresh (shown) and faded versions. We never learned about this type of angel in Catholic school in the 70s and 80s, lol, so the internet is what taught me about this form.
If your RL weather is getting chillier like mine, the [RED GIRL] Claire Sweater Hot Cocoa {GIFT} should give you all the warm and fuzzy feelings. It says Hot Cocoa Vibes in big bubble letters, and the image shows a minty cup of cocoa that is garnished with whipped cream, holly, and a candy cane for stirring. That is such a fun way to enjoy hot chocolate by the way :) Our comfy turtleneck is provided in sizes for Lara X, Petite X, Legacy, Perky, and Reborn mesh bodies.
My final look of the evening is a very intriguing one, as instead of clothing it is focused on a musical instrument. The [Harshlands] Wooden Handheld Harp simply must be experienced in person to fully appreciate it, but I'm very happy to try to describe it to tempt you to go and find it :) There are male and female versions which would affect the bento animations, and you can click it for a menu that lets you choose from 6 beautiful songs to play. It contains all the music, and you can adjust the volume or turn it off too if you prefer. There is something guitar-like about the shape and strings to me, and the sound is quite ethereal so I think it would be very romantic to play for a loved one. I'm also wishing my RL fingers were half as graceful as this animation makes my SL ones!
I had a late but nice dinner at my parents', and we talked about how tomorrow is the final day for one of the vendors at our favorite farmers market. She is closing her business for health reasons, but may reopen in the future *fingers crossed*. Meanwhile we're getting some items to freeze, and I will be sorely missing her tasty food each week. The smoked BBQ people are back as the featured lunch, so at least that's good news :) That mac & cheese was phenomenal, genuinely smoky flavored and just the ideal comfort food.
