Pride At Home

 Hiya everyone! Tonight's post is delightfully colorful, thanks to several free gifts we find at Pride At Home :) I'm a longtime ally of the LGBTQ+ community, and growing up Gen X means that I saw what it was like in the 80s to be a teenager or young adult trying to find one's identity. It has gotten better over the years, but there is still room for improvement of course. SL seems to be a helpful outlet for those who want to explore virtual life as themselves without RL limitations, which makes Pride month even more special here. Pride At Home is a terrific shopping event each June, with this wonderfully designed area of booths with gifts for all visitors that do not need any particular group tag to claim. Some are for sale for $0L, and a few you can just click to have the treat delivered to you. Are you ready to take a peek?

My first look is the cozy *katat0nik* (GIFT) PAH Tracksuits, which contains both I ♥ You and I ♥ Me versions. They both are provided in Legacy and Reborn mesh body sizes, and are a one-piece set with the capri pants and zipped sweatshirt linked together. the rainbow racing stripes are the perfect bold accent for the sleek black of the sleeves and pants :) It's also noteworthy that this brand has been part of my SL experience for as long as I can remember, and I'm always thrilled to see them at events!

I'm keeping it casual yet celebratory with the [RED GIRL] Reese Shorts Overall Pride gift. Just look at those colorful patches scattered around the denim overalls, which come in 3 colors (blue, white, and black not shown) with the same decorations and tank top built in beneath. There are sizes for Lara X, Petite X, Legacy, Perky, and Reborn mesh bodies of each color, then we have a HUD with 10 colors for our tank top so even that can be customized. So cute for Pride month, but certainly not limited to June.

The {le fil casse} Allegra Bodysuit Pride Edition is a sexy gift that I'm realizing is a bit lower cut on that bust than I initially realized ;) It fits Lara X, Legacy, Perky, Reborn, and Waifu mesh bodies, in a spectrum of colors with those vivid stripes that softly transition from one to the next. Then it was time for a sweet snack, so I am sharing the andika Sweet Pride ice cream-wearable gift too. There are left and right handed hold versions included, and like all SL food it won't drip or raise your blood sugar ;) I'm wondering about the flavors now...I'll go with red velvet, mango, lemon, mint chip, blue raspberry, and blackberry. Yum!

There are so many terrific tops among these gifts, like the stunning FICTIVE - PRIDE AT HOME 2026 - GIFT. The tank top has a ticket tucked under the left strap, and a fun style with that slit in the front that gives an extra peek of midriff. We receive Lara X, Legacy, and Reborn versions, with a HUD so we can choose from 4 textures for our top and 4 for the ticket. The top can also be solid white or solid black, but I was totally in the rainbow zone here and tie-dye is a classic favorite for me :) The ticket on the left above says "This is a Safe Space" and I must admit, that made me a little bit emotional. My blog is too, just like my heart. 

My final look of the night was a chance to show off not just one but two more tops that I simply adore. The [GHB] CLOTHING LOVE IS LOVE CROPTOP is on the left above, with black sleeves providing contrast to the bright gradient with Pride rainbow stripes across it. The pink heart says "Love is Love" just like the shirt's name. This gift includes sizes for Legacy, Maitreya, and Reborn mesh bodies. Our Pride at Home. Queer Fringe Tee 2026 on the right gave me amusing flashbacks (Flashdance movie, childhood bestie and I in matching fringed shirts with movie logo, thinking we were hot stuff at the beach, LOL) but I really do enjoy fringe and especially in SL where it can't get all tangled up. There are Lara X, Petite X, Legacy, Perky, Reborn, and Waifu mesh body sizes included, along with a HUD for the bikini layer that offers 20 textures. Some are wild tropical prints, all are fantastic :) The front says QUEER then PRIDE HOME in tiny letters beneath, there could be an @ hiding in my cleavage though ;) You know by now that I love the color pink, so there's even more appeal here. Just like in the last image, I'm wearing my favorite Delizio jeans from the marketplace (free fatpack) but you can pair any of these shirts with whatever you wish from your own wardrobe.

Why Pride is important to me - I've got a first cousin on my dad's side who is a lesbian, and she is genuinely a fascinating person who used to jump out of airplanes to fight fires out on the west coast. My godparents' son is gay, and I've literally known and loved him my entire life (he's less than a year older than me) so when he came out to me it was with complete trust and relief. His parents thanked my parents for not ditching the family like some of their other friends had :( Online friends over the years have included gay, lesbian, trans, poly, pan, bi, genderfluid, and non-binary folks, and my policy is to treat everyone with respect unless they are disrespectful to someone I care about. Also it should go without saying that I don't judge any relationship that involves consenting adults. So for me, Pride is about honoring love in its many forms, and continuing to learn about the complexity of gender identities.

It's been a quieter day than yesterday, thanks to the lack of fireworks outside. The weather is still fairly warm, and it looks like the weekend is going to get even more sizzling hot. It isn't my cup of tea, but it's certainly expected since summer is pretty much here. I hope you're all having a nice day/evening, many magical magpie hugs to everyone!!

Valentine Shop & Hop

 Hiya everyone! Tonight it's time to start exploring the Valentine Shop & Hop 2026, which I've been eagerly anticipating since the holiday one wrapped up. These amazing events are organized by the Lindens so you know these are top notch designers, all sorts of offerings like fashion, accessories, home decor, and more. There are 14 regions this round with 20 brands apiece, so that makes 280 stores with discounted offers and a free gift each :) You can start in any of the regions and walk your way through a continuous loop (okay, rectangle) so get those hiking boots ready! As they've been doing for several rounds now, the FabFree crew has assembled a very handy spreadsheet of gifts that you can sort by the tabs on the bottom left to view by store name, region, type, or even pictures. I'm so grateful for their hard work and persistence in keeping it updated and accurate. I always share these by region (it keeps me organized and lets me give you one main landmark to check out all 20 stores) so these are from the Chickory region.

My first look combines two gifts, the first of which made me curious and then amused. The *kata0nik* Valentine Halter includes the pink-red and black-red versions each in Legacy and Reborn sizes, and the heart on each contains some Japanese text. I don't speak or read Japanese so I let google translate it, said "kata to niku" which means shoulder to meat. Now that could be an expression or slang, but it was not what I was expecting ;) I used my camera to translate and the center character is a bit lost in my cleavage, so it just said "shoulder meat". I also really like these new pants, which are our gift Stories&Co. called Signature Waist Leggings - Azure. They are very flattering with that high waistband and slim fit, in sizing for Lara X, Petite X, Legacy, and Reborn mesh bodies.

This flirty gift is our Adore Amore - Gionna Dress Red Sequins. Isn't it a beauty? The sequined texture alone would be enough to make me happy, but then we add the style with spaghetti straps, slit skirt, and diagonal belt with large hoop closure, and it becomes an instant favorite. There are sizes for Erika, Gen X Classic, Gen X Curvy, Kupra, Legacy, Bombshell, Perky, Maitreya, Petite, Lara X, Petite X, Reborn, and Waifu  mesh bodies included.

Next I changed into the stunning neve gift - leeanne Valentines'26. The neckline frames our cleavage beautifully with soft ruffles, and the skirt is notched on the right thigh for an extra peek of skin. We receive Lara X, Petite X, Legacy, Perky, and Reborn mesh body sizes, as well as a HUD with 4 colors to choose from. The ones not shown are red and black, so very Valentine compatible without being in your face about it. I know not everyone is a fan of the holiday, but these colors are so classic that I'm sure you will enjoy regardless :)

SUGAR N' SPICE has a special treat for us too, their SNS CALIOPE JUMPER. This flirty outfit will fit Lara X, Legacy, Reborn, Squish, and Waifu mesh bodies, and includes a HUD with 8 colors each for the main jumper, trim, lace, side bows, corner bows, and jumper bows, and the ability to adjust the opacity (4 levels) and turn materials on or off. I feel like this will particularly appeal to fans of details like bows, as I am, and it really looks like it could easily be worn as lingerie.

My final look of the evening is our Blackstone - Roxane Leather Set - Hot Pink gift, and it simply sizzling! The corset top and low cut shorts are each provided in sizing for Legacy, Maitreya, Lara X, and Reborn mesh bodies. The shorts are studded around the hem for a little golden gleam that matches the rivets of the top where it's laced up in the center. 

Wow, where did this weekend go already? I am feeling a bit chilly which isn't all that surprising when it is only 15 degrees out (F) but I will be putting the mini heater back on shortly. I tried food from a place I used to get delivery from many years ago (before delivery services) and found out the hard way that their marinara is too spicy, like at least 3 others in the area. I guess they're adding red pepper flakes or hot sauce, but I wish they'd just include a packet of the flakes/sauce for those who can handle the added zing. It's so common these days though, even in fast food, so I am struggling against popularity. I had a backup plan fortunately, so I am fine :) Somehow my family and I decided to do a cheesecake this coming weekend for my birthday dinner instead of traditional cake, which might be odd but we all love it which is all that matters. It's not like any of us are posting pics on social media, just a cozy little gathering with my nearest and dearest. Anyway that was ordered tonight, chocolate marble, from a baker we all admire, so that is something fun to look forward to. Shop and Hop Forsythia

 Hiya everyone! Tonight's post features some gifts you can find on the Forsythia region of the Holiday Shop & Hop event. That is one of 16 regions filled with talented designers (20 apiece for a grand total of 320!) offering discounted sales items and gifts for all visitors. I am always tickled pink, well this time of year it's probably tickled red and green LOL, to explore the shopping areas and indulge in some bargain hunting. We do deserve to treat ourselves well this time of year, and I appreciate having so many brands in one location to tempt us with familiar favorites or some who are brand new to me. 

My first look of the evening is the adorable *katat0nik* (Maitreya) Yeti Sweater Outfit, a one-piece layering of sweater and knit shorts whose name ensures you won't forget which body it fits. That is the original Lara from Maitreya, she of immense popularity :) The yeti has some super cute rubber ducky friends, and the snowflakes have little hearts in their centers for added kawaii flavor. Instant favorite thanks to the cute factor, and there is something fun about wearing shorts with a sweater. 

If you were afraid that all the gifts would be Christmas or Winter themed, let me reassure you with the [GIULIADESIGN] -ALOMA- treat seen here. This lovely outfit consists of the top, skirt, and panties each in sizing for Freya, Isis, Hourglass, Legacy, and Maitreya mesh bodies. The strapless top and high waisted mini skirt are both straining at their buttons enough that a couple seem to have popped open, so it's a good thing we have the panties as a modesty option :) I definitely appreciate having both of my favorite colors included in this outfit, in very pretty pastel versions of each.

Don't leave the [GIULIADESIGN] display too quickly or you might miss their other gift, this wonderful -TIKA-WHITE-BLUE! Believe it or not, this one is worn as one single piece, so our top, belt, and jeans are all linked together. It comes in Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh body sizes, and I was drawn to the bare shoulder top style as well as the many pockets on the jeans that would put the fun in functional.

Next we see the Miamai_Carla Bodysuit_Crimson gift, which is provided in several different BOM layer versions so you can choose your favorite look. The bodysuit alone, or with light stockings (on the right above), medium stockings, or dark stockings (left) each have versions with or without shadows. I believe I chose the shadow version for the dark, and without on the right for the light stockinged set. That will be handy if you're layering atop a tattoo that would be affected by the shadow. It is terrific when creators offer plenty of options so we can decide what suits our second life the best :)

For my final look tonight, I couldn't resist the !PCP:: Mia Shirt [Present] from Pink Cream Pie. The front reads "Gonna go lay under the tree to remind my family that I'M THE GIFT", with a present on one side and decorated tree on the other to really accentuate the saying. It fits Legacy, Maitreya, Petite, and Reborn bodies, while sending a playful message to your SL family :) The shirt itself is crafted beautifully too, cropped with a peaked front that is not quite a sharp point down the front but just extends a bit. The long sleeves are great for this time of year, and I wore my white Delizio jeans from their generous marketplace gift that appears here quite frequently. 

After an intense kind of day, I am preparing for my dental visit tomorrow which is only my third time going anywhere other than my parents' (a few blocks away) since the agoraphobia resurfaced this summer. The abject fear is hard to describe, but my teeth don't deserve to be neglected again like I did from that phobia many years ago. I trust everyone in this dental office, as they've all been very kind and compassionate to me over the years, and I'm more worried about the car ride to and from than the visit itself which will be obscured by nitrous ;) The nitrous grogginess is the reason I am taking the evening off from blogging tomorrow, as I usually do after a dentist visit, so I'll be back Friday with my next post. The Magic of Oz

Hiya everyone! Sometimes certain things will make me drop everything and rush to a particular place or event in SL, and reading a notice this morning did just that. I'd found out about a hunt at the Magic of Oz sim, which is an incredible place to visit, and their hunts are always such fun! This one is celebrating the festival of Holi, which I read up on to discover that it is a Hindu festival of colors or of love, as well as a celebration of spring. It involves in part, spraying or smearing one another with colored powders, so bright colors are evident in the hunt gifts. Please be sure to read the blog before you go, it's worth it!!

I will be showing you all 3 dresses from Katatonik, which you'll have to obtain separately by trading in the powder pots you find on the sim (6 pots for one big pot of pigment) several times, as you receive a random one of the 3 each time. I got the pink one 4 times before getting any others. This lovely dress is the Multi Holi dress, and I am wearing the bows from +Half-Deer+ in my hair for even more bright fun. This is their default location, you can certainly adjust them to suit whatever hair you choose to wear them with :)

This is the beautiful Pink Holi dress from Katatonik, and how adorable is my new lamb friend? Please meet Lalu, one of 4 cuties in the gift from ~silentsparrow~. You get a version to hold and a version to place out anywhere you'd like, of each Lala and Lalu, and Lala has a pretty blue bow and blue feet instead of Lalu's lovely purple, and they each have a secret...do you see the hint of a key for the tail? I was more interested in showing the cute face, sorry about that hehe, but if you click their tails you will hear a brief winding sound, then a soft tune. They describe it as original spooky music, I didn't find it spooky so much as just pretty :) 

Finally we have the Purple Holi dress from Katatonik, nicely balanced with the green and even some splashes of blue. The coloring reminds me of cotton candy, also a bit like some manicures I've seen tutorials online using makeup sponges to use various colors on the nails. A quick note about Katatonik's mesh dresses- their sizes are not traditional, instead they include average, curvy, divine, and thin. I tried on the average and it fit quite well, then tried the thin out of curiosity and it was just a tad small around the bust area. So give them all a try and see what suits your personal shape the best, and enjoy the beautiful dresses!!

I definitely enjoyed learning about the festival of Holi, and the bright colors are a terrific way to welcome spring. It is one of the things I enjoy most about SL, being exposed to so many different cultures that I'd have very little chance to discover otherwise, and that sense of international community that is just there for the exploration.
