Hurry to MIIX

 Hiya everyone! Tonight I revisited the MIIX Event since people kept mentioning in group chats that there are lots of gifts there, but I hadn't found any when I stopped by during its first couple of days of the round. It turns out I just goofed, LOL, and there are in fact several group gifts (Hype Events group tag, free to join) but I had to click boxes that had no hovertips and didn't change my mouse to a hand or anything indicating "touch me". So if you get there before the New Year round closes on the 20th, please look for the silver, gold, and black balloon bunches that have a box at the bottom (some balloon bunches do not, so those are just decorative), and with the group tag active please click each one. I promise they will deliver gifts, and I apologize for my oversight initially. There are quite a few gifts for the guys too! Oh and another tip is that they aren't at each individual designer's display, but rather more towards the middle of the event area. Upstairs they are close to the balcony overlooking the lower floor.

My first look is one of several treats from FurtaCor you can find in the gift boxes, this one being called Analu Set. The dress is strapless and very revealing in the back, thanks to being loosely laced up and tied with a playful bow at the top. Both the dress and matching thigh high boots are provided in Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique sizes, with a HUD offering 20 textures for the dress and 10 solid colors for the boots. The dress looks like painted denim to me in most if not all of the textures, which is a favorite fabric of mine.

Next we see another of their generous gifts, the :::FurtaCor:::Sasha Set. It looks like two pieces but it actually just one, designed to fit the Maitreya body. There is also a HUD included, with 15 textures each for the top and skirt portions. It is a nice mix of solids and prints, so we can be creative with our choices.

I also love this :::LA PERLA:::Suellen Set gift, with flirty styling that immediately caught my eye. The tube top has an opening in the front with straps and a bow, then the back is simply comprised of two more strings and another cute bow. The skirt is short and frilly, with panties built in for a hint of modesty. We receive Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique sizes for each, along with a HUD offering 15 textures for each so we can mix and match to our heart's content. 

I kept the LA PERLA skirt on here to wear with a terrific top I found in a gift bag at the ~UKYAH~ display (not one of the balloon-topped boxes!), containing two wonderful gifts. This is their Reage Cropped - Gift, a long sleeved treat with touchable texture and a pert collar. This store seems to offer androgynous sizing, as this top comes in sizes for Belleza Jake, eBody Reborn, Kupra, Legacy Female, Legacy Male, Legacy Perky, Maitreya, Maitreya Flat Chest, and Maitreya Petite mesh bodies. Its HUD lets us choose from 12 main colors that tint the entire top, then 2 buttons (black and white) for the collar and wrists. On the right I chose the white trim button after picking the dark orange hue, while the left shows how it looks when you click just the main color. 

My final look this evening is the other goodie from that gift bag, their ~UKYAH~ Mika Dress - Gift. What a beautiful dress, with an X of straps in the front that link to a choker type neck, and a flared skirt that I find particularly flattering to the booty :) This gift includes Belleza Jake, Kupra, Legacy Female, Legacy Male, Legacy Perky, Maitreya, Maitreya Flat Chest, and Maitreya Petite sizes, with a 4 color HUD. Our other choices are purple and black, so we have deliciously dark hues to select from. 

It was another busy day, after saying farewell to the houseguest in the morning I had a podiatrist appointment to keep my toenails healthy. There was only one that was ingrown this time, a vast improvement over recent visits, so it was a quick and almost painless visit. They are stubborn little buggers, so I'll be back in a few months to have them trimmed and checked over. The afternoon hockey game that coincided with my appointment was a disaster for my team, so I don't feel bad not watching the whole thing live. Baby It's Cold Outside

 Hiya everyone! Tonight we're taking a look at some of the many terrific gifts and exclusive offers from the Baby It's Cold Outside 2 Hunt. It's brought to us by Cheeky Monkey Hunts, so the designers can choose to offer $1L, $25L, and/or $50L exclusive items that each hide in the same type of hunt object. In this case that would be a petite white snowflake, just right for this chilly theme :) You can find the prices, hints, landmarks, and preview images all on the website to guide you through this fun adventure that lasts the rest of the month.

There are 3 tempting prize waiting at The Bold Llama T-Shirt Co., one in each price range. This is their $25L exclusive called JELLYBEANS Tee, and it is provided in standard mesh sizes as well as eBody, Freya, Isis, Venus, Legacy, Maitreya, Ocacin, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine mesh body sizing. It says "Talk to the Jelly Beans" above and beneath an adorable cat showing off a pawful of toe beans ♥. I'm sadly allergic to cats so they are not a part of my RL, but my avatar can safely enjoy pet cats and all the feline goodies she/I could possibly dream of, like this shirt. 

I also found the striking .{SA}. Lindy Tied Top Snow prize for just $1L at Starlight Apparel. The blouse has 3/4 length sleeves and wraps around the front to tie on the right ribcage, and is decorated with snowflakes in several sizes and designs. We receive plenty of sizes too, for eBody Reborn, Freya, Isis, Venus, Gen X Classic, Gen X Curvy, Kupra, Kups, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, Petite, Prima Busty, Prima Petite, Hourglass, and Physique mesh bodies. I paired this prize and the previous one with one of my favorite pairs of jeans, the white pair from the Delizio marketplace fatpack freebie. There are system/BOM layers and appliers for Maitreya and Omega, in various shades of denim to match plenty of tops.

The $1L prize from ::REA:: is their Peggy Fatpack, and I am delighted with the fluttery skirt and flirty strapless bra top. There are 6 colors included and each packaged separately inside, with top and skirt in sizing for Altamura, Freya, Hourglass, Legacy, Perky, and Maitreya mesh bodies. The purple can be seen on the left above, with red on the right, and our other shades are blue, pink, tan, and teal.

The Sissy Bar has captured the spirit of the hunt theme beautifully with their cozy pajamas named (TSB) Baby It's Cold Outside Hunt. Find their snowflake and you'll be able to claim standard mesh sizes as well as Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique versions, all for just $1L. The fluffy texture is accentuated by an image of a penguin visiting a little boy in an igloo, with the name of the hunt beneath it. 

My final look of the evening is the $1L prize from Shanti, a darling one-piece combo of sweatshirt and miniskirt called Hammy Kawaii Outfit. It comes in eBody, Freya, Isis, Venus, Hourglass, and Physique mesh body sizes along with a standard version. Since there is no Maitreya size, I'm wearing the standard one with the provided alpha layer and it fits just fine, probably because of the baggy style of the top. Speaking of which, how cute is that picture on the top? I need a sweet little chickie to stir my cocoa, complete with chick-shaped marshmallows!

It was a hectic sort of weekend, and the houseguest is still here so it isn't quite over yet. I enjoyed the first part of it, so that's a positive takeaway :) I am already looking forward to next week's farmers market visit, since a couple of vendors are bringing new items (one especially for me), and I'll remember some heavier moisturizer on my face to protect from windburn this time. I look like a child who played with mommy's blush, but I have aloe gel for daytime and something stronger for bedtime that should soothe it. The wind was howling all day yesterday and some of last night, and I thought it was calmer but the power flickered slightly a little while ago. Weekend Variety

 Hiya everyone! Tonight we begin the weekend with some variety, starting with various group gifts for the Mesh Body Friends group. This is a multi-designer group that is free to join, and participating stores will share news about sales and special offers in addition to many having gifts for the MBF group. Most of the ones I visited also take part in other similar groups so you may see gifts for them as well, making it a good idea to check for other groups you belong to. Then we head to Entice for their Saturday Sale offerings, several new versions of a gorgeous dress at a special discounted price. Lots of ways to save money here while looking fantastic!

My first stop was the YIA store, where I happily claimed their Helena Outfit White GIFT for the Mesh Body Friends group. This pairing of tied tank top and high waisted shorts are included in sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique bodies each, in a crisp white that is effortlessly elegant. It might be best suited for a warmer climate, but in SL we get to visit areas with any weather we could imagine and then some, so it could come in handy if your cold RL weather has you wanting to stroll along a tropical beach.

I kept the shorts on here to help me share the Max Magic gift, their ::MM:: women's sweatshirt - MBF GIFT. They did specify women's because there is a similar gift for the guys too, and it is not the only male-avatar-compatible gift I spotted so be sure to pass that information along to anyone who needs it :) This cropped sweatshirt fits Freya, Isis, Hourglass, Hourglass Petite, Legacy, Maitreya, and Maitreya Petite mesh bodies, with 2 HUDs of 3 colors apiece. Each HUD has a different texture, with the one on the left above that says "as above so below" above and beneath hands holding a moon and sun, with images down the right arm. The dress has barely attached sleeves and a daring cutout back, revealing a flash of booty cleavage. That vibrant shade of teal really caught my eye, and the style simply oozes sex appeal.

I am trying to be optimistic about the weekend, which realistically will have ups and downs like any timeframe. The farmers market visit in the morning should be terrific, with a new vendor offering Thai food similar to the couple who moved and left the market a couple months ago. This chef is a friend of the former and has her recipes plus her own to offer :) Then the bad houseguest arrives, lol, but I will be able to avoid them for the most part. The weather will be cold and cloudy but no precipitation, whew, and I've got my gloves and scarf ready to bundle up tomorrow. Enchantress Group Goodies

 Hiya everyone! Tonight I am inviting you to the Enchantress store, where you can join their group for free and enjoy a wide array of gifts. There are midnight manias too, and a handful of lucky boards for the group on a neighboring wall, so you can tell there are many benefits to their group membership. The outfits I'm sharing tonight are all group gifts, since I have not been very fortunate at lucky boards lately ;)

My first look tonight is the [Enchantress] Kadence Dress Gift, which caught my eye thanks to the styling and the toucans on the pattern. There are sizes for Altamura, eBody Curvy, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and TMP mesh bodies included. The toucans I mentioned are playing among flowers and greenery, on the skirt and the top straps in the back that are complemented by the solid grey/beige shade one might call dark greige. That is a flirty view from the rear!

I also claimed the stunning [Enchantress] Blair Dress Gift, a shiny mini dress with sheer lacy top and skirt ruffle. It starts with the sleeveless mini in sizing for eBody Reborn, Gen X Classic, Gen X Curvy, Kupra, Kups, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, and Petite mesh bodies, then we get to play with a texture HUD of 6 wonderful choices :) The one on the left above has a burnished look, very rich metallic leather, with the shine on the right giving more of a latex feeling. No matter which you pick, the stitching is exquisite and makes this an instant favorite.

Well, it was a day...I just found out that my housemate's friend is coming to stay for the weekend, so what I refer to as the bad houseguest will be here from Saturday to Monday. It's not a lot of notice, but all I really need to do is be prepared with snacks in my computer room here and lots of things to watch on my tivo. I already had that second part, hehe, it's a bit backed up to be honest since sometimes it records things by mistake that have no descriptions and are just random episodes of whatever I have set as a 'season pass'. Blackbird Lace Beauty

 Hiya everyone! Tonight we have more group gifts from Blackbird Lace to see, and I hope you enjoy this batch as much as my last post's set :) The group is free to join, and the gifts have their own large wall upstairs all neatly organized in one location. I have been a fan of theirs for quite some time, so it is a pleasure to share their hard work with all of you.

First up this evening, we see the Zania-Gift-By-BlackbirdLace outfit, all in black for added oomph. The strappy top and belted skirt are each provided in Freya, Isis, Legacy, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh body sizes, while the ankle boots will fit Belleza, Legacy, Maitreya, and Slink feet. This look has an edgy vibe that I am enjoying, and I always appreciate matching footwear.

I also found myself tempted by the LINA GIFT BY BL, a strapless jumpsuit in denim with a solid half and a crisscross textured half for extra playfulness. There are sizes for Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh bodies included in this sassy gift. As a product of the 80s, I am always still drawn to denim and find the shadows and general texturing here to be very well done.

Okay Dawn, you think, those outfits are great but I need more color in my life! Well good news, you can also use that free group tag to claim the lovely Alexandria Gift-By-BlackbirdLace. The jumpsuit has a bolero style piece attached (the sleeves) and is designed for Legacy and Maitreya bodies, which are the same sizes our matching studded heels come in. There is also a HUD with 15 colors apiece to choose from for the jumpsuit, sleeves, buttons (and lacing between them) and heels. I went with a bright lime green for all on the left, and mixed purples and pinks to the right just for fun :)

The ruched style is very flattering of our curves, and the plunging neckline can show off a favorite necklace nicely.

I chose the Sera Outfit BY BL gift for my final look of the evening, and I must say its gathered seams down the front and back are a very eye-catching feature :) The dress comes in Freya, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, and Petite mesh body sizes, with a HUD offering 15 pretty colors to choose from. There are so many terrific group gifts available that even if these aren't quite your style, there is a good chance you will spot something that is. 

It was a busy but productive day I suppose, and I got some advice I hadn't thought of for this stupid cough I've had for over a year...get some tests for mold in the house. How did I not think of that, and how did nobody suggest it before today? The good news is there are plenty available online, and they aren't ridiculously expensive, so that is something in my near future. My primary doctor blamed acid reflux, but the cough worsened recently and the chiropractor (realigning what the coughing had pulled out of place) pointed out that reflux isn't seasonal. Light bulb moment, LOL! Otherwise I watched a fun hockey game, and my favorite player got a hat trick (3 goals in one game) so I got to cheer in between coughs. Blackbird Lace Gifts

 Hiya everyone! Tonight I visited Blackbird Lace, whose free group I was still a part of thanks to their generous Advent calendar last month. This time I headed upstairs instead, where there are lots of wonderful group gifts waiting for us :) Whatever you may be craving at the moment, from sexy to formal to casual to cute, you will find something to delight, with lots of color variety and several sizes for each. It looks like all previously released group gifts are still available, with new ones offered on a regular basis, so I have plenty of goodies to share.

My first look of the evening is called Maye Outfit -Gift-By-BlackbirdLace. Its strapless dress is held in place with metallic links in the front above the keyhole opening, and a bow in the rear that dangles down a mostly bare back. That comes in sizes for eBody Reborn, Freya, Kupra (Bimbo, Low, Original), Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, Petite, Hourglass, and Physique mesh bodies, then our matching heels will fit Belleza, eBody Reborn, Kupra, Legacy, Maitreya, and Slink feet. The Anita GIFT BY BL has a terrific combination of textures with a bit of a surprise in that rear view ;) Our tied tank top and shiny pants are each provided in Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique sizes, in a chocolate brown that makes me think of hot cocoa (was already craving it, lol) and with the back of the pants laced like football pants but with added strings above. I genuinely giggled when I switched to the pose on the right, so many great details!

Next we have the lovely Basha Set by Blackbird Lace gift, comprised of turtleneck and mini skirt each in sizing for Freya, Isis, Kupra, Legacy, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, and Reborn mesh bodies. As you can probably guess, there is also a color HUD, with 10 choices for each piece. I am a big fan of denim, and it looks very classic with the sleek top for chilly weather.

Our Selenion GIFT BY BL is a stunning outfit whose jacket, skirt, and zipper are separate pieces that fit Hourglass, Legacy, and Maitreya mesh bodies. There is also a HUD with 10 colors each for top and skirt, so plenty of versatility and we can always leave the zipper unworn if we prefer the look without it. Personally I enjoy the realistic touch of having a way in and out of an article of clothing, but if I wanted to wear it with a different metal jewelry and felt they would clash then the zipper would stay in the folder that day :)

My final look of the night made me think of magic and faeries. It is the Rebeka Dress BY BL group gift, a daring diagonal hemmed dress with detailed embroidery on the bodice and a watercolor texture that I simply adore. For the cold weather I am thinking I might pair this with very plain neutral leggings (for modesty too) because it is very revealing on its own :) There are Altamura, eBody Curvy, Freya, Isis, Hourglass, Legacy, Perky, Maitreya, Petite, Tonic Curvy, Tonic Fine, and Tonic Minim mesh body sizes included in our gift. 

Because of a recent comment chain on a post the other day, I want to remind everyone to pay attention to unpacker HUDs and if they say (no copy) after the name in your inventory. They could contain items that cannot be copied to you while unpacking if they are attached, and if that's just the unpack script itself you won't have a problem but anything else will just sit there. So I've gotten into the habit of looking to see if it says no copy, then add, right click - edit, look at the contents tab of that window, and see just what is in there that says (no copy) after it. If it is something I need, I detach, rez out, and unpack the old fashioned way, or if there is already a folder in my inventory with everything else from it I rez, edit, and drag the no copy item from the contents tab to my inventory folder. I hope that made sense :) The permissions are listed in the order of no copy, no mod, no transfer, so don't worry if you see the others but the copy issue is bound to crop up with unpacker HUDs from time to time. 

I'm running a bit late this evening, partly because I took a break to prepare some hot tea in an attempt to soothe a persistent cough. It's been over a year, I've had tests and even a chest x-ray but nothing seems amiss, so it is probably from acid reflux or allergies. Maybe a combo, as I do have both. A nice herbal tea is relaxing so I am feeling peaceful, a rarity for my anxiety-ridden self ;) Tomorrow is a chiropractor appointment, followed by watching a hockey game in the evening, so somewhat busy but not bad. Third Life Group Gifts

 Hiya everyone! Tonight we will be taking a look at several gifts for the Third Life group, which has a small $10L fee to join and provides updates from participating designers on sales and special offers happening at their stores. Most of them also offer gifts for all visitors with the Third Life group tag active. Since their website hasn't been updated with those recently, I usually just visit stores who have posted within the past couple of days and see what I can find :) I get to see lots of sales that way, and just generally explore places that might be new to me or I haven't stopped by in a while. Want to see what I found?

My first look is courtesy of Brunsen Couture and is their Lacone Sexy Dress Black. This flirty frock comes in sizes for Freya, Hourglass, Legacy, Maitreya, and Petite mesh bodies, with a halter neck and tube top with cutouts beneath. I really like the ruffle details too, and you can see from the rear view just how short the hemline is from behind!

Next I visited The Best Of Me, where I happily claimed their Melania Double Color Bare Shoulders Mini Dress. It is one of several gifts for various multi-designer groups, as with most of tonight's looks, so I do suggest seeing what other groups look familiar :) This dress is provided in standard mesh sizes along with eBody, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine mesh body sizing. The spiral galaxy images caught my eye, and the gentle contrast of deep blue and black from the front to back.

Enigma Apparel is offering us this lovely [EN] Dress Summer Strap Pink Blue as their Third Life gift. It has plenty of sizes for classic avatars (5 standard, 5 fitmesh, and 5 busty) as well as Belleza, Maitreya, and Slink body versions. The straps in the back are just beautiful, and I like the combination of colors they chose. 

Another color sure to grab my attention is purple, so I was excited to see the S-Leila purple gift at Suna Designs. There are 5 classic and 5 fitmesh sizes included for classic avatars, plus eBody, Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Ocacin, Hourglass, Physique, TMP, Tonic Curvy, and Tonic Fine mesh body sizes. The long sleeves have slits down each one for playful openings, and the high-low hem looks especially pretty with the multiple layers of fabric. 

For my final look of the evening, I changed into the [>Ma'De<] Bianca Dress which is one of several gifts available for various groups here. The top and skirt are connected by a T strap, and the pattern has a mix of flora and fauna thanks to a leopard print and ferns. The gift includes Freya, Isis, Venus, Maitreya, Hourglass, and Physique mesh body sizing.
